One of Juane Arc's sisters loves to play video games. Juane Arc doesn't care much to play, but he does watch her play from time to time, and ends up falling in love with everything about Final Fantasy 7, including its prequels, sequels, and the movie and declares he will become a hero just like Cloud Strife.

Fast forward to the future, where Juane Arc joins Beacon, just as air sick as his favorite hero, but with a certain fusion sword he named First Tsurugi, an outfit based on Clouds, a hairstyle to match, and a bike to go with it.

Only even Juane starts to think things might be a little on the nose when Pyrrha Nikos unlocks his semblance, and he gains immediate access to his semblance, which just happens to look like a FF7 character menu, complete with unlocks for 'materia' magic abilities, a limit break system, and a level and stat system that translates his real world abilities into stats and levels…

Note: This is not a GAMER fic, so no arbitrary power ups from gaining levels via XP. This is a translation of Juane's actual abilities and such into stats, which he can work on to level up through real world actions ie. Weight training would translate directly to increasing the strength stat. The REAL magic happens with the materia menu which, while there's no actual materia, Juane's semblance gives him the equivalent of actual materia, and he can fashion himself a bangle to give himself more slots, and mastering materia unlocks more materia, OR gives him a second copy of the same materia to level up.

Juane's semblance gives him three 'materia' to start with, plus one extra locked in the summon category, which works differently. Juane can choose any materia of any type of the four other classes, being magic, support, independent, and command. He can choose three different ones, or three copies of one materia power.

Summoning is only slightly different in that Juane starts with Choco/mog and can gain levels and master the materia like normal, but instead of summoning for just one attack, Juane can call the summons for the duration of a battle much like how summoning in FFX works.

Since Juane's MP can't be replenished via items, it regenerates over time in a manner much like Skyrim's magic replenishes over time, though a full night's sleep will replenish it in its entirety.

Summoning's MP cost works differently from normal materia's MP cost. For example, if Choco/mog cost 100 MP, Juane would summon Choco/mog, and 100 of his MP would be partitioned for Choco/mog's use, and would no longer be useable by Juane for normal materia use for the duration of the summon's appearance.
