"H-huh? What did Lust look like?" Subaru questions him with a worried tone. Reinhard had just returned from defeating Sirius, only to prove the presence of another enemy.
"It's hard to explain. At one point she was a girl with an appearance similar to Miss Felt, and another time she was a dragon. She said her name was Capella Emerada Lugnica."
Subaru raises an eyebrow upon hearing the name of Lust. "I-is she a royal family member?!" He became dumbfounded at the mention of her name since Capella Emerada Lugnica would be the name of someone in royal standing.
As for the other Sin Archbishops corresponding with names such as Betelgeuse Romanee-Conti, Sirius Romanee-Conti, Lye Batenkaitos, and Regulus Corneas, the name Capella Emerada Lugnica seems a bit out of place.
Being put up with the amount of Sin Archbishops he has had to go through at once, Subaru gives a frustrated look. "Then what are we waiting for?! Let's get going!"
Suddenly, Subaru felt a small hand tugging his fist. "Betty agrees with Subaru, I suppose." Hearing the familiar child-like voice, Subaru looked down to see Beatrice. "D-did you just say my name, Beako?!" Subaru was dumbfounded since Beatrice had never said his name before until now.
"I did not! S-Subaru..." Beatrice had a light pink blush forming on her completely pale face, breaking eye contact with him. Subaru smiled and picks Beatrice up. She began flailing her arms around, with a frustrated look on her face
"You're so cute Beako!" Subaru exclaims, with a warm smile on his face. Reinhard smiled at the cute scene before him.
Oddly, Beatrice doesn't say a word, however Subaru knew he had to get going so he put the girl down. She pouts at Subaru, as he focuses his attention back to Reinhard.
"Anyways, about this Capella, why didn't you kill her?" Subaru was confused as to why Reinhard did not take care of her upon confronting her. However, Reinhard's next words shocked Subaru.
"She appears to be immortal." Subaru took a moment to process his words. He suddenly stops breathing to think for a moment.
"Damn... This isn't good."
Subaru looks down in frustration with clenched fists after hearing what Reinhard had to say. The fact that this SIn Archbishop is immortal was a huge problem toward Subaru's group.
"May I come too?" Subaru hears a voice behind him. Turning his head, he was met with Emilia, asking for permission to go with them. Subaru gives her a forced smile. "Sure Mili!" Of course, Emilia was eager to join the three after being left behind while Reinhard took care of Sirius.
After a short moment, Reinhard led the three back into the city of Priestella. Beatrice and Emilia observed the city in awe. Subaru, however, was no stranger to this city. He has already been taken inside twice, this being his third. Regardless, Reinhard led them to the shack in which Sirius laid.
The group enters the dusty and old shack, where they find a glowing coffin. Subaru, Emilia, and Beatrice approach the coffin, peering into it. Sirius was seen, with her arms crossed, over her chest "It appears that we have bypassed her ability, the crowd that went to sleep along with Sirius by the gates have long since vanished."
Subaru let out a small and relieved sigh. "That's a relief." Subaru reassures himself that they had an advantage here with Reinhard on their team. They took care of the Sin Archbishop of Wrath after all.
All they have left to defeat was Lust, right? After all, the fact that four of the Sin Archbishops were taken down by Emilia and her campaign, it will give her a major boost in the royal selection.
"By the way Subaru, are you aware that you possess the Authority of Greed?" Subaru perks up upon hearing Reinhard speak. "What?"
"I was able to get the Divine Protection of Judgement and saw you have both the Authority of Greed and Sloth." Subaru remembers Beatrice speaking about the Authority of Sloth before going on their voyage. "I got Sloth from that bastard Betelgeuse, I wonder what Greed can do."
Subaru also remembered the invisible providence that emerged from his chest while confronting Rem with Felix. "Wait, if I got both Greed and Sloth, why didn't I get Gluttony? Whatever, I don't want that one anyways. I must've gotten Greed from Regulus." Subaru shook his head while thinking.
"It appears your authority can take pain for others or divide it between allies." Subaru, although having many questions, decided to hold off on any. "Great!" Subaru exclaims. Focusing back onto the situation, he began speaking. "Where's Capella?"
"Right after she regenerated, she said she had something to do and ran away." Reinhard explains his experience with Capella as Subaru looks down in frustration once again.
"Damn, that just makes things difficul-" Suddenly, another voice started speaking, sounding as if it was coming from the same room they were in.
"Yahoo, yahoo, yahoo!" Subaru, along with Emilia and Beatrice, tensed up. They frantically looked around the dimly lit room for the source of the voice. "H-huh, who's that?!" Subaru askes the question in everyone's mind. "That's her." Reinhard says in a stern tone.
"Hello, all you meat creatures! No matter how many times you've heard it, doesn't my beauty and my lovely voice get you all excited? Gahahahaha!" Subaru freezes as Capella spoke. "Wait, how's she talking so loudly? I can't see her anywhere."
"It appears she is using the broadcasting system in city hall." Reinhard explained. Subaru, still looking around, thought, "Radios exist here too?"
Capella continued.
"Alright, you meat creatures enthralled by a beautiful girl's enticing voice, I have news for you: we're all tired, so we're leaving now. Just kidding! The true tossing and turning of day and night starts now! Gahahahaha!" Subaru began to cover his ears. Rage was filling his body. Her piercing voice was annoying him in general, but the fact that she was a Sin Archbishop and another threat was enough to fill Subaru with rage beyond comparison.
"Setting aside my hilarious joke, let's continue on with the news. As I said just now, the city has been taken by us. You're all caged birds... no, you're all insects in a cage for insects." Capella continued on speaking in an obnoxious tone.
"Insects are just mere bugs, and the owner of that cage gets to decide just what to do with you. Wings and head, prepare to have them removed... Kahahaha, how ugly, how awful! What a cruel life. You should be thankful for being left in my gentle care. Gahahahaha!" Subaru gits his teeth and mutters, "Shut up..."
Subaru directed his words towards Capella, although she was not there to hear them. "Wait, wait, you idiots can't understand the real meaning of my treasured words. Poor hopeless fools, only thinking about slabs of meat in their free time. My kind, lovable self will make this easier to understand. I'll tell you with my spit which you masochists love."
"She's even worse than Betelgeuse..." Subaru could not shake the fact that Capella thought too highly of herself. She thinks she is a kind, loving girl when she is the complete opposite. Sighing in disgust, Subaru could not help but continue to listen to her.
"Insects in a cage can't do anything about their owner's mood. The most you can do to please us is to remain anxiously in your cage. When we're in a bad mood, you can only shudder in fear as we tear your wings or legs off. When I bring you honey, I'll be like your mother, gently stroking your heads. There~fore~, kahahahahaha!"
Subaru could not take her words anymore. He snaps, "Where's this damn city hall at?" Reinhard opened the door of the shack and pointed outside. "It should be up ahead but I'm not sure." Subaru, after hearing her speak, wanted to put an end to her speech. Nonetheless, she continues.
"Later, we'll have more to ask of you scumbags. You'll wear dreadfully nasty expressions, cry that you don'twanttodiedon'twantodiedon'twanttodie and think of ways to arise from the crowd and give us answers. In that case, my moving kindness might have me consider setting down the cage in my hand. Gah, isn't that really easy to comprehend! Gahahaha!"
After a small moment of silence, Subaru slugs his shoulders slightly. "Is it finally over?" Reinhard looks back at him. "It would appear so." Just as they thought it was over, Capella delivers one final remark.
"And, the end. My cherished words end here. Transforming meat creatures and insects should work their hardest. Like I said before... We've taken control of the four towers that operate the waterways. I think it's best to not try anything weird? A drowned man's dead face is unbearably ugly! Gahahahaha—"
Subaru relaxes momentarily. "Finally... That felt like forever, I can't stand her." He groans in annoyance. Reinhard led the three outside of the shack, to be met with Julius and the others that were left behind, the twins accompanying them.
"The city all is up ahead!" Julius spoke in concern. The group ran towards the city hall, with Reinhard far ahead of them. Running up the stone steps, Reinhard opened the door, followed by Subaru and the others. Entering, they all stopped in their tracks.
"Huh?" Subaru blurts in confusion. In the room, there was no one and nothing. Julius notices a flight of stairs to their right. "It should be upstairs, let's go." Everyone turns, as Julius begins to walk toward the staircase.
"Gahahahaha! Do you rotten meat bags want more of my precious words?" Before Julius could make it to the first step, Capella appeared walking down the staircase. Everyone stops and tenses up. Rem looks at Ram with a stern face. Otto hid behind Frederica, questioning the appearance before him. Frederica rolls her eyes.
Capella suddenly focuses her gaze on Emilia, and pointed at her. "But mixed with all that rubbish is quite the slab piece of meat! So attractive, perfectly in line with tastes! This meat smells like the finest of meat! What beauty! That body! That appeal! Ah, I reallyreallyreally want to break it with my own two hands!"
Emilia steps back. "Huh?" Capella took another step down the staircase, causing everyone to tense up slightly more. "You heard me, I said you're a fine meat slab! Nowhere near this lovely lady though! Gahahahahaha!"
Subaru clenches his fists, gritting his teeth. He felt another hand over his fist, expecting it to be Beatrice. Turning around, however, he saw Rem. She had a worried look on her face, only causing him to tense up more. Noticing Subaru's shift in attention, Capella jumps down the staircase, directing toward Julius.
Midair, Capella spews black flames at Julius. Immediately, everyone began to prepare attacks. However, Subaru and Reinhard were ahead. Subaru screamed, "AUTHORITY OF GREEED!" Simultaneously, Reinhard vertically slashed his sword, causing the flames to go out.
Julius closes one eye in slight pain from the intensity of the flames, when suddenly it feels to him as if the pain left before the flames were put out. Subaru collapsed onto the floor in pain. "AGHH-" Subaru felt as if his skin was on fire. Reinhard, Beatrice, Emilia and Rem shouted "Subaru!" along with Ram shouting, "Barusu!"
The group ran towards Subaru quickly, as Rem and Emilia tended to the burns on Subaru's skin. The intensity of the flames were strong enough to burn Subaru's skin, although the flames only lasted a few seconds.
Capella began to cackle. "Gahahahaha! Pathetic bags of meat, now die!" Capella once again began spewing flames, directed toward the group this time. Reinhard, being prepared this time, took out the flames almost as soon as they were spewed.
Reinhard began swinging his sword quickly multiple times in a row, stunning Capella. Giving him the chance, Reinhard launched toward Capella, and sliced through her neck with ease, considering she was in her child form.
"GAAAAH!" Capella screams, feeling the pain of the cold blade slicing through her esophagus. Her head fell onto the floor, along with her body, making a small thumping noise. The head landed in front of Subrau. Still in pain, he spoke with a grin. "Th-That's... what you get for m-messing with us..."
Capella's body lays limp, not making a single movement. Suddenly, Capella stood up with her head like nothing happened. Subaru stared at her in shock. "So she can regenerate but still feels the pain. Interesting..." Subaru knew there had to be a way to defeat her, however he could not put his finger on it just yet.
Subaru felt the pain finally subsiding, standing up after thanking Rem and Emilia. "Yo, Reinhard, can you seal her too?" Subaru says with a small smirk on his face. Reinhard shaked his head in quick response to Subaru's question. "I'm afraid I can't. There was only one sealing stone in the shop."
Reinhard says his words with a guilty look on his face, considering he is the one putting in the most help and effort out of everyone in their group. "Don't look so down, you already got two Sin Archbishops, there has to be a way!" Subaru says, reassuring Reinhard. Reinhard smiles. "Thank you Subaru."
Capella claps her hands loudly, and speaks to the group. "Are you meat bags done having your pointless discussion?" Her ear-peircing voice rings through the large room they were in. Several slashing sounds were made, as Julius sliced through Capella multiple times while she was distracted with talking. "GAAAAH!" Once again, Capella screams in pain.
Her body falls into several pieces, however, regrew from her torso almost instantly. Without throwing any more insults, she starts spewing flames once again. Julius, being the closest in range, was affected by the heat. Suddenly, Subaru, Rem, Ram, Julius, and Emilia start throbbing in pain. This was the second form of Subaru's Authority of Greed.
Reinhard did not waste a second, as for the people nearby were now unable to help due to them being in pain. "Everyone, step back!" he grabs onto the sword's handle with both of his hands, pointing the tip upward.
With that, Subaru's vision goes white. He hears a large explosion, thinking, "Is he using his swordplay to kill her...? Wait, does that mean she's powerful enough for him to have to use his sword?!" Subaru remembers back to the loot house incident with Elsa. Somehow, Elsa was able to survive the attack.
His vision soon returned, seeing the room they were in now torn to shreds. "Again, you're a monster!" Subaru yells at Reinhard. Reinhard puts his gloved hand over his chest. "That still hurts me a little..."
Reinhard frowned, patiently waiting to make sure that she would not make a returned. However, he knew if she was going to come back, she'd do it within seconds. Reinhard and Subaru wait over a minute, no sign of her.
"F-Finally..." Subaru exhales, and immediately falls to the floor in relief.
