Chapter 32

Jo came out of the nursery as Dean sat at the foot of the bed freshly showered. "Whatcha do with your shirt?"

"Soaking in the sink in the laundry room," he told her as he rubbed a towel to dry his hair. "Is she alright?"

"Yeah, she must have had a gas pocket and you were the lucky recipient for a change." Jo teased.

"Yeah well par for the course today. Did I tell you that my magic credit card was declined today and I got a ticket."

"I wouldn't worry about the card, probably a problem with the net, it happens and the ticket…seriously Dean, Sam and I have both told you not to park in front of that hydrant. You know if there was a fire the firefighters would just break the windows in Baby and run the hose through her and I'm telling you right now I wouldn't feel sorry for you if they did."

Dean frowned at that, "you saying you wouldn't feel bad for Baby?"

Jo fought not to laugh at the hurt expression on his face. "Never said I wouldn't feel bad for Baby but you need to stop parking in front of that hydrant. What if there was a fire and someone was hurt or killed because they couldn't get to the hydrant because you were parked in front of it."

"Okay…you're right. No more parking in front of the hydrant," he agreed as Jo walked into the bathroom to get ready for bed. He stood up and started towards the nursery to kiss Ami good night but decided not to push his luck.

Instead he went over and grabbed a pair of sleep pants before pulling the towel from around his waist off and hanging it up on one of the hooks on the wall before slipping on the pants.

He was just pulling back the comforter when Jo came out of the bathroom and his eye practically popped out of his head. "Whoa," Dean said with a grin.

"What this old thing?" She said as she slowly walked into the room.

Dean chuckled because his woman got him. Sure when he was with Lisa she wore slinky lingerie and yeah it definitely got the job done but all those stupid lacy things put together didn't make him feel what he was feeling right now as Jo stood before him wearing an AC/DC skin tight cropped top and a black thong. "Yeah, that old thing," he replied.

"I found it when I went shopping today," Jo cooed as she walked over to the desk that double as a vanity table to put some lotion on. She looked over her shoulder when Dean gave her a wolf whistle and she wiggle her bottom suggestively.

"Not that I'm complaining because damn that is seriously fucking hot as Hell Sweetheart but what's the occasion?"

"Do I need an occasion?" She asked as she walked towards the bed.

"Nope," Dean said as she climbed on the bed and straddled him.

"Good," she purred as she leaned down and kissed him.

Dean groaned as Jo began kissing his neck. "Not trying to kill the mood but do you want to talk about… you know anything?"

Jo pull back and looked at Dean, shaking her head slightly. "Not yet," she told him. "I just want to be with you right now."

Dean reached up and cupped her cheek, "yes ma'am." He murmured as he urged her closer and kissed her.

Jo moan as Dean's hands caressed her back as his hands made their way down to grab her ass before flipping them so that Jo was laying beneath him.

Jo snaked her hand between them and cupped his erection over his sleep pants before working her way up and slipping her hand inside his pants.

Dean grunted when her hand wrapped around his dick and began caress the head of his cock with her thumb as he reached down to push her thong aside just as Jo squeezed him gently and he froze as his head collapsed on Jo's shoulder when he felt himself cum fast and hard in Jo's hand.

"Ohhh," Jo murmured as Dean panted as she pulled her hand away.

"Fuck," Dean said as he rolled off of Jo and he looked down at his crotch in shock and betrayal. "That has never happened to me before."

Jo smiled, "it's fine Dean. It happens to everyone." She reassured him.

Dean flung his arm over his eyes. "Not me…not ever. Even when I was a horny teenager and could get a hard on at the drop of a hat."

Jo sighed as she settled next to him. "Newsflash Honey, you're getting older."

Dean pulled his arm away and turned to look at Jo. "Gee thanks," he quipped.

"Stop it…it's not a big deal," she told him firmly.

"Easy for you to say," he mumbled.

Jo leaned over and kissed him, "seriously Dean, one time is nothing to worry about. Trust me, I have no complaints in this department." She purred.

"Maybe we should just get some sleep," he suggested.

"Okay," Jo agreed as she nuzzled her nose against his neck before kissing her way along his jawline. "I love you."

Dean couldn't help smiling, "I love you too." He said as he wrapped his hands around Jo as she rested her head on his chest. Figuring tomorrow would be a better day.

Dean woke to Jo snuggle against him and smiled as he felt his familiar morning visitor and decided he would definitely enjoy some morning sex today after last night's fiasco.

He nibbling on Jo's earlobe as she began to wake up. Jo's eyes began to flutter open and she gave him a sleepy smile.

Dean gently rolled Jo so that she was laying beneath him and grinned when she wrapped her legs around his hips and purred, "good morning."

Dean's smiled faulted when he felt his dick soften. He shot a quick look at Jo and saw the way she chewed on her lower lip.

"It's fine Dean…really." She told him. "You're probably just anxious…" Jo stopped in mid-sentence when they heard a crash come from Sam's room and they both hopped out of bed and ran towards the noise.

"Sam!" Dean shouted as they ran into his room and saw him lying on the floor with a nasty gash along the side of his forehead.

"I fell out of bed and hit my head on my side table." The younger man whined pitifully as he tried to sit up. His eyes widened when he saw what Jo was wearing.

"Umm Jo…" he said as he waived his hand in her general direction. Dean frowned for a second at his brother but then remembered Jo teeny tiny tee shirt and the barely there thong.

Without thinking Dean turned to pull the towel he knew was hanging on the hook next to his brother's door so that he could cover Jo.

"Aghhh!" He cried when while grabbing the towel he pulled the hook out of the wall and it hit him on the head.

Jo winced as she caught the towel Dean tossed at her and wrapped it around herself. "Are you alright?"

"Peachy," Dean said as he rubbed his head. He looked over when he heard Sam sneeze.

"Bless you," Jo said as she helped Sam up off the floor to sit on his bed.

"You getting sick?" Dean asked.

Sam shrugged his shoulders and cough, "maybe."

"Weird," Dean said as he stood in front Jo and Sam. "I'm telling you something is wrong. I think we've been hex or something. First the credit card, my parking ticket, you can't seem to get out of your own way, Ami takes one look at either of us then the water works starts."

"Haven't you two ever wonder why you were so lucky in the first place," Gabriel said as he suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"Don't do that," Jo said as she jumped slightly.

"What do you mean?" Sam asked, a little more use to angels feeling like they could come and go as they please.

Gabriel rolled his eyes, "you two really think you're that good at everything you do…seriously? I have to say…the old man may have gone too a little too far with the premature ejaculation and not being able to keep it up this morning Deano but can't say I'm surprised by him being that petty."

"He messing with our mojo," Dean hissed.

"Premature ejaculation," Sam repeated earning a glare from his brother. "Right, he's messing with us."

Dean went to say something when Sam's phone started ringing. Dean watched his brother go to answer his phone but began a sneezing fit instead. "Give it to me," the elder Winchester said as he held his hand out. Sam handed his brother his phone as he grabbed a couple of tissues.

"It's Garth," Dean told his brother as he went to answer the call.

"I'm going to check on Ami," Jo said as Dean answered the phone. She put her hand up when Gabriel went to follow her. "Stay…make sure Sammy doesn't knock himself unconscious while sneezing." She commanded as hurried out of the room.

Dean walked into the kitchen to find Jo feeding Ami. "Coffee's on," she told him as she distracted their daughter from looking at her father. Whatever Chuck was up too, it included Ami suddenly crying when she saw Dean or Sam.

"Thanks, Sam is just getting dressed. We're going to be heading out after I hop in the shower."

"What? Didn't you hear Gabriel. Chuck has been screwing around with you two. Maybe out isn't a good idea." She argued.

"I already told them both that," Gabriel said as he joined them, going over to Ami and tickling her chin.

"Told you Garth needs our help and we're going. We're still hunters."

Jo looked at the way the two men were facing off and shook her head. "Gabriel can't you do anything. Use some of your angel juice?"

"Seems I'm not the only one having performance issues," Dean said as he poured himself a cup of coffee.

"You're joking, right?" Jo asked as she finished feeding Ami and lifted her and began patting her back and was rewarded with a hearty burp.

Gabriel shrugged his shoulders, "that power shift Cas and I felt after Chuck did the time warp with Sam. Some of the shift has impacted me."

"Chuck's been siphoning our little archangel here." Dean explained.

"Wonderful," Jo murmured before turning her attention back to Dean. "Jody decided to stay at the inn last night. Why don't I call her and see if she can stay with Ami and I go with you two."

Dean shook his head, "it'll be fine. Me and Sam can handle this with our eyes closed."

"Dean…"

"Jo really we'll be fine. You need to go through everything that Jody gave you."

"Ahh the windfall Sheriff Mills told you about," Gabriel teased.

"Yeah…what took you so long to restore Jody's memories?" Jo asked.

"We've been a little busy," the angel said.

"Speaking of busy…why aren't you upstairs helping Cas gather intel?" Dean asked.

"Believe it or not he'll get further along without me." Gabriel told him as he sat down.

"Look Jo, you stay. Go through everything. We've got this covered and if we need backup Garth can do it." Dean said as he started for the door and ran into Sam as he was coming into the kitchen.

The brothers each reached out to study the other one. Dean shook his head in exasperation before saying. "I'll be ready to go in twenty."

"Right," Sam said as he went to pour a cup of coffee and grabbed an apple.

"I'll make you some food to take with," Jo offered as she put Ami in her bouncy chair.

Sam poured himself a cup of coffee before sitting down at the table. "Thanks Jo, food would be greatly appreciated."

Jo sighed when Ami's attention was drawn to her uncle and she immediately began to cry.

Sam looked at his niece and winced, "I think I'll wait for Dean in the map room."

"Sorry Sam," Jo called out as Gabriel quickly turned and began to make silly faces at Ami and causing the infant to laugh and blow spit bubbles while Jo packed enough food for a small army.

Twenty minutes later Dean was putting the second cooler stuffed with sandwiches, cheese, fruit, potato salad, fry chicken and the rest of the peach cobbler she had made the day before. Their old green cooler was filled with soda, water and two six packs of beer.

"Jo, it's only a ten hour ride." Dean says in amusement at the amount of provisions.

"And you'll still stop for more snacks," she teased as he shut the car door.

He pulled her close and kissed her, "give Ami a kiss for me," he whispered as he mated his forehead to hers.

Jo reached behind and pulled an envelope out of her back pocket. "Gabriel may not be up to archangel strength but he was able to pop around to a few ATMs and mojo some money for you guys. There's a grand in there."

Dean grinned at Jo, "see this…this is why I love you. You think of everything…including grand theft."

Jo snorted, "nothing says I love you more than sending an angel to rob ATMs for you."

"I think you create a new Hallmark made up holiday."

Sam came into the garage and Jo winced when he seemed to find the one and only oil slick on the garage floor and went down.

"You okay," Dean said as he went to help his brother up but stopped when Jo put her hand on his chest.

"I'll help him…the two of you by an oil slick could end up with someone in the hospital." She told him.

Jo went over and looked down at Sam who blushed as he held his hand out, "help."

"Here," she said as she reached down and grabbed his hand and helped him up.

Five minutes later Jo had kissed Dean again, hugged Sam and watched the boys drive out of the garage. Sighing she headed towards the family room.

She stood in the doorway and smiled as she saw Ami sitting in her playpen and Gabriel was using his powers to make her stuff toys float above her. "Okay Uncle Arthur, enough spoiling her using your dwindling power."

He smirked as he slowly lower the stuff toys, "didn't see you having a problem with me zipping out and using my 'dwindling' power to cash out a few ATMs for Deano."

Jo shrugged her shoulders, "I couldn't let them head out with twenty bucks and no credit card that will go through."

Gabriel watched as she sat down and powered up her laptop. "I think I'm going to pop in to see Jody."

"Kay, thanks again for doing that for me earlier." She told him as she picked up the envelope Frank left for her.

Gabriel watched the way Jo sighed as she held the item. "Do you want Jody to come here?"

Jo looked up at him and smiled when she saw the concern his eyes. "You know for a jerk you're pretty sweet. I'm fine. Really…go. I'm going to go through the files that Frank set up for me…checkout the online accounts."

"Okay…if you're sure."

"I'm sure, thanks." She said and blinked when the angel vanished from in front of her eyes. "I don't know about you Ms. Amelia but I'm not sure I'm ever going to get used to that." She said as she opened the large envelope and began going through everything.

Two and half hours later Jo sat back still slightly in awe at everything she had gone through.

She knew her mom had insurance on the bar and between that and the sale of the land there was over $500,000.00 and then add in her $50,000.00 life insurance policy alone was a nice little nest egg.

Her mom hadn't touched more than a few grand from the sale of the roadhouse before Carthage.

Then there was the money Frank had embezzled which paid for the bulk of her stay in the private nursing home Bobby had transferred her to.

Jody had given her a ballpark figure but she didn't know the details of the set up. Frank had opened numerous bank accounts set up an estate under her name and had scheduled with drawls and deposits no greater than $5,000.00 in a round robin schedule so that it didn't raise any red flags but kept the accounts active.

Of course Frank had used one of his connection who's an estate tax attorney named Meghan Carson who owed him a favor to ensure all her yearly taxes were filed so that the IRS didn't begin snooping around.

After everything was said and done between the medical bills, medical insurance and taxes there was a total of $983,842.16 remaining between all the accounts.

She shuddered to think what would have happened to her if Frank hadn't padded her accounts with Dick Roman's money.

Frank had also cleaned up her identity to ensure she could move on with her life when she came around and the contact information for the attorney who could help funnel the money down to a couple accounts in her name from the multiple estate accounts.

There was only one thing left for Jo to read…the letter her mother had left for her. She chewed on her lower lip as she looked at the envelope she had been carrying around since last night.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when she heard Ami whining in her playpen. "Hey you, you have a good nap?" She asked as went over and picked her daughter up and knew immediately why the baby was whining.

Soon she had Ami in a dry diaper and sat down to nurse her infant. "Your Mama has a lot of good people in her life…even ones she never met personally."

She hummed softly as Ami continued to nurse. She knew she needed to stop nursing soon…she was pretty sure Ami was gonna start teething soon by the way she was drooling. She knew she was billing silly but she wished she could slow time down. She felt like Ami was growing up too fast.

Suddenly she knew how her Mom must have felt all those years ago when she was pulling away from her. When she had wanted to start hunting…when she took off on her Mom after Philadelphia. Her mother only started hunter to be with her, to protect her. She finally understood just how much her mother loved her because she would lay down her life without hesitation for the child in her arms.

Smiling she looked down at her daughter, "Amelia, what do you say. After you finish eating we read your grandmother's letter…huh."

Jo settled back with Ami sleeping peacefully in her arms as she lifted the envelope and slid the paper inside out. Closing her eyes and taken a deep breath she unfolded the paper and began reading the last message her true mother wrote to her.

My Joanna Beth,

We both know why you're reading this and I have to say selflessly I'm happy it's you reading my note than the other way around. I don't think I could have survived losing you Honey. Someday I pray you get the chance to experience the joy of being a mother (and the gray hair when that child will give you when they try your patience…like they say Jo, karma a bitch and I'm thinking any child you have will keep you on your toes like you did with me).

Now I need you to listen up Joanna Beth. I gave Bobby some paperwork. There was an insurance policy on The Roadhouse, plus I had paid the mortgage in full two years earlier so what I got when I sold the property is pretty much all still there. He also knows somebody who can issue me a death certificate and he will help you file a claim on my life insurance policy.

It's not a fortune but it will be enough for you to set something up for yourself and anyone else you choose to share your life with. Now I'm not a fool, I know that you're going to continue hunting but Baby…don't shut down and not let light into your life. Your Daddy and I never wanted that for you.

So I want you to continue partnering up with Rufus and as much as I may not like it those Winchester boys are going to need your help as much as Bobby's to stop whatever is coming down the pike.

I know there is no way for me to tell you not to fall for that boy Dean because I know it's too late and I've seen the way he looks at you and can see he has feeling for you too. The two of you together scare me because I don't think either of you are ready for the real thing just yet. Your both still young enough…immature enough…to romanticize a life of hunting and loving together and not realize everything it entails.

I just pray you both make it long enough to realize there's more for you both and that you get to appreciate the little things. Making breakfast together…buying some ugly couch together…fighting over who gets up for that 2:00AM feeding. That's what I want for you…for Dean and for Sam. A life, a real life.

So I'm going to make this official. I give you and Dean my blessing. You two fools don't get yourselves killed before you figure out that there's more to your lives than hunting. Find something that you both want to do outside of that life…build something together. Live to be old, fat and gray together because that is the only thing I want for you Honey.

I love you so much my baby…my Joanna Beth.

Mom

Jo wiped at the tears that cascade down her cheeks. "Oh Mom, wherever you are, please know I love you so much." Jo said as she looked up. "Please don't worry about me anymore because I did figure it out Mom…Dean and I both did. We know what's truly important. Our Ami…your granddaughter." Jo prayed.

She sat for a little while more speaking softly to Ami before she got up and headed towards their rooms. Quickly she changed into a pair of jeans and sweater and then dressed Ami in a warmer onesie for the later afternoon air. Soon she had Ami in strapped in her car seat and was heading south out of town.

Forty five minutes late she pulled off to the side of the road and got out of her car. She let her eyes linger on the object she had been looking at every time she was on this road since she came back. Smiling she reached into her pocket and pulled out her cell phone before hitting the number she recently added to her contact list.

"Hello, Ms. Carson…Ms. Meghan Carson. My name is Joanna Beth Harvelle and I believe Frank Devereaux told you to expect a call from me. I would like to schedule an appointment to discuss my accounts."

Dean and Sam climbed into the Impala. The last couple of days had been draining for the hunters but now they had a possible solution to their problem.

Sam looked over at his brother, "So, uh...Alaska?

Dean nodded his head, "Alaska." He said as the turned the key in the ignition and Baby roared to life. The grin that spread across his face quickly became a scowl when the engine sputtered and died. Slamming his hands on the steering wheel he shouted angrily, "Son of a bitch!"

TBC

A/N: Okay so poor Sam is accident prone and catching a cold so I had to think what would really upset Dean and well him having problems in the bedroom was just too funny not to go there.

A/N 2: I know I got a little crazy about the hydrant thing but that is a serious hot button issue. I've seen firefighters break the windows of cars parked in front of a hydrant once during a fire...precious moments that can't be wasted because people don't want to park legally.
