Chapter 32

Connection

Time went by and Patrick didn't hear a sound coming from the bedroom. He had heard something previously that sounded like bodies falling on the bed and smiled within himself thinking that his friend was getting his cake and eating it, however the silence hovered the environment later.

"Gus?"- He called through the door but didn't get an answer. "Gus?"- He called again. "Gus! - He called for him one more time, imperatively.

"Gus is resting. I think I've exhausted him."- Letty said on the other side of the door. "But you know what? I ain't satisfied just yet. Why don't ya come here to help me?-She purred. "Patrick is it your name, right?"

Patrick smirked. He thought that since his friend had had a good time, now was his turn and there wouldn't be a problem to get in the room for a few minutes, have some fun, wake up Gus then get back on their shift.

The girl was cooperating after all and the boss would never know. However, as soon as he got inside the room, he could barely breathe because Letty jumped him, took him down and immobilized his body with her thighs.

He struggled but she didn't release him; she continued pushing harder against his neck until he passed out. When his head hit the floor unconscious, Letty sighed, she was feeling relieved for being able to get rid of the two man. She rushed then to grab the men's guns and get out of there.

She placed one pistol on her denim's waist and the other one inside her tall boot and left the room carefully to not be seen, disappearing into the night.

"Do you guys think that… when Dom kill me is it going to be fast or is he going to make me beg for my life?"- Roman enquired to Leon and Vince.

He had made to the clinic about half an hour ago and told everyone the same story he had told Brian on the phone. Now he was terrified thinking about how Dominic Toretto would react to the fact that his family had gone missing.

The friends looked at each other and Leon said first:

"Bro, it's going to be painful."

"Will?"- replied Roman, eyes wide opened.

"It's going to be so bad that you'll keep feeling pain from the other side."-Vince added.

"No way!"- Roman exclaimed crossing himself.

Brian, Mia and Monica were talking a little further ahead of them. Mia was visibly shaken after finding out that not only Letty was missing but also her niece.

"Dom is going to go nuts when he finds out!"- Mia said wiping a few stubborn tears off her cheeks. "I can't believe this is happening, Brian! Nina is just a little baby!"

"Mia, they won't hurt her. They took the baby to blackmail us. They know we have the drugs."

"But how could they have done it at the same time things were happening on the desert?"- Mia asked them.

"Cause they had someone spying on us from the beginning."- He concluded.

"But who?"- Mia enquired.

"I don't know yet."- Brian said. "But it is certainly someone that knows Roman very well."

"His girlfriend."- Monica said standing up and walking towards Roman.

"What?"- He said. "Do you know anything about my final destiny?"- Roman dramatically asked her.

She ignored his comment.

"Are you sure that your girlfriend is missing? What was her name again?"- Monica asked him.

"Pitty."- Roman told her. "Yes, she's missing. When I woke up, she and the baby were gone."

"That is because she took the baby after hitting you with the frying pan."- The agent said.

Roman shook his head.

"There's no way she'd do something like that."- He replied. "Pitty would never do that."- He paused for a bit because he suddenly started doubting himself. "But why would she do something like that? How would she know that I was friends with you all before this shit happened? I didn't even know Dom and Letty…"

"Roman if this is true, Braga must have blackmailed her with something really important to her so she would betray you." Mia told him.

"Did you try to contact Pitty right after you woke up?"- Monica asked Roman.

"No, I felt so bad with the baby's disappearance that I started calling Letty that didn't answer and then I called you guys…"

"Call her right now."- Monica suggested. "Pretend you are calling from home."

Roman agreed but he was contemplative. If that was really true, he could never forgive Pitty for doing something like that. He grabbed his cellphone and told it: "Call Pitty!"

The phone chime sounded a few times but she finally answered. Roman swallowed hard when he didn't hear his girlfriend's voice on the other side of the line. He put it on the speaker so the others could hear as well.

"Buenas Noches!"- An excitedly male voice said. Brian recognized the voice right away.

"How may I help you? I imagine you are trying to hit Priscilla on this number, am I right?"

Roman became furious when he heard the man and shouted:

"What did you do to her you son of a…?"

Campos's voice was changed by a whining female voice.

"Roman! Roman is that you?"

"Pitty!"- He called for her. "Where are you, babe?"

"I don't know."- She said in a weak voice.

Roman heard a loud bang followed by a woman's scream.

"Pitty!"- He exclaimed in exasperation.

The others were agglomerated around him. Campos took the phone back.

"Oye, are you still there, papi?"- The Latin man said in a friendly voice but that wasn't capable to hide the cruelty of his intentions.

"What do you want?"- Roman asked him trying to control himself.

"You know what I want, chicos! I know you all can hear me right now. So, if you give me what I want, everything is going to be fine, it will be a win-win but you better rush because I'm starting to get attached to baby Toretto. Mi madre has been telling me for ages she'd like to have grandchildren."

"Hijo de puta!"- Monica cursed in Spanish.

"You have exactly two hours to call me back on this number if you wish to see the baby and the girl again. Hasta la vista!"

He hung up the phone. Brian had been trying to track the call but his tracking got interrupted when Campos turned off the phone.

"Shit!"- He yelled, frustrated.

"That bastard has my niece!"- Mia said in agony. "What are we going to do?"

"They're going to kill Pitty!"- Roman told them.

"No, they won't!"- Brian promised. "Monica and I are going right now to the FBI to speak to Penning and get ready to meet with Campos still today."

"Dude, the man didn't mention anything about having Letty."- Vince said.

Mia sighed.

"Oh my God, where she could be?"

Mia's phone suddenly rang. She grabbed the machine fast and didn't recognize the number on the screen but she took the call anyways:

"Hello? Letty!"- Mia exclaimed excited after recognizing her sister in law hoarse voice.

Flashback

Dom heard Letty sneaking into the pool but he pretended he hadn't HEAR her. He smiled and kept on swimming on his back until he felt Letty's wet body against hiS.

"Hola!"- She purred on his ear.

"Hola!"- He replied before turning and grabbing her waist.

"Where is our guests?"- Dom asked Letty.

"Everyone already left."- She told him.

"But Vince is sleeping on the sofa, isn't he?"

"How did you guess, man?"- She giggled.

"How about Mia?"

"She went to spend the night at her girlfriend's."

"Girlfriend, huh?"

"Leave her alone!"- Letty said taking her hands behind her back to lose the top of her bikini. "I just want to be alone with you."

She threw her bikini top in the water and caressed his naked chest.

End of flashback

"Letty…"- Dom moaned and woke up with a searing pain on his body. He blinked a few times trying to recognize where he was but nothing seemed familiar. "Letty!"- He shouted.

Letty had just grabbed a taxi after talking to Mia on the phone and find out that Dom indeed had been shot. Her premonition about something happening to him had been real. Now she was on her way to the hospital to see him.

"Can you go faster?"- She asked the driver.

Suddenly she felt a sharp pain on her chest that she couldn't explain and bit her lips trying to contain the ache.
