I was too slow.

I always had contingencies in place for anything I'm doing. I had purposely made it such that Olivine would have Steven and Lorelei stationed there on this fateful day so that she will be safe. A future Champion and a previous member of an Elite Four is enough firepower to hold off any siege. Add that to her own capabilities as a Gym Leader and the fact that Siebold is near her location to come back and assist if need be, she is as safe as can be.

Olivine will theoretically be the safest place in Johto but I should have known, I should have learnt from my past experiences.

Plans never go according to plan.

"JAS!"

We were already approaching Olivine when we saw it happen. I was making my way back to Olivine through flight with the squirt and the short stack accompanying me. From the pieces of information I managed to gather on our way here, the fights across Johtos are starting to die down with the Indigo having the overall upper hand. Our plans should have minimised the risks to a minimum.

Of course, I am very well aware of what could go wrong if our worst fears were to come true. If Team Rocket really had the Kanto's Legendary Birds under their control somehow then whatever city they are being unleashed in is in very big trouble. If that were to happen there's really nothing we can do. The only thing we could possibly hope is that Johto's legendaries will rise to help defend the region.

I just never thought that Olivine would be the city that the Legendary Birds will be unleashed upon.

We spotted the ominous dark clouds hanging above the seas near Olivine from far away. It was a sign that something was amiss and it only encouraged us to double up and head there as soon as we can. We were near enough to have a somewhat clear view of the situation when I saw her riding atop her mega steelix, heading towards the sky with her and her pokemon putting themselves in between the city and a growing mass of white light shining from behind the clouds.

The moment I saw that, I knew what she was planning to do.

I was about to release Myst from his pokeball only to be reminded that he is already worn out from our previous battles. Fighting against Mewtwo, Proton, and helping to thin out the Rockets at Goldenrod had taken a toll on all of us. Myst wouldn't be able to make the distance in his current state. We need to get closer for Myst's Teleport to reach her.

Simba had sensed my worry and had increased his speed even without me asking to. Our increase in speed had left Kayla and Velda behind immediately. We were getting closer and closer and I was about to release Myst from his pokeball when it happened.

I had never felt anything like that before, that kind of sheer raw power that was being emitted.

We were blown back from the resulting shockwave. I almost dropped from where I was riding on Simba's back because the shockwave had even Simba spinning uncontrollably in circles in midair for a few seconds before he managed to right himself. That unknown attack had a blast radius so huge that it encompassed the entire Olivine and beyond. The worst of the attack had obviously been blocked but the shockwave that was produced still managed to produce a blast of wind so strong that it felt like a hurricane had crossed our path.

Simba was thrown back by quite a fair bit from the blast but he immediately continued his dash towards Olivine the moment we got our bearings. I could see the silhouettes of her and her pokemon dropping from the skies. There's nobody to catch her, nobody near enough and fast enough to reach out to her, none as far as I could see.

"MYST! TO HER!"

Thanks to Simba, we managed to reach the edge of the city within seconds. It's a distance that I know is close enough for Myst to reach her with Teleport in his current exhausted state. I released him out of his pokeball without delay and I felt the displacement immediately. The next moment, I had her in my arms. In the next second, Myst had brought us a safe distance away from the beach where she had placed herself earlier to defend the city.

"J-Jas! It's me, Volk. C-Can you hear me?!"

She's bleeding all over. I had never seen her in such a state before. Despite the lazy persona I display myself as in public I am always the man with a plan. I always know what to do but at that moment my mind was simply blank. I could not think of anything and it felt like my entire world had just crashed down and smashed into smithereens.

I shook her gently while using my hands to try and stop the bleeding near her chest area. Her pokemon crash landed around us, unmoving.

I saw her eyelids trying to flutter open.

"V-Volk…"

"I'm here." I replied as I held her close. "I-I'm here, so s-stay with me, yeah? I-I can't lose y-you, please. Jas, please. S-Stay with me."

"C-City… M-My… Poke...mon..."

"T-The city's fine, you protected it. I-I will recall your pokemon back right now, t-they will be s-safe, okay? Just stay with me."

I gave Myst a mental command to help me release our entire team out of their pokeballs and to return Jasmine's back into theirs. Simba reached us and landed beside us at that moment, bristling and growling at the skies.

'Master, some of Mistress' pokeballs are not responding.'

My heart stilled for a second. There's only two reasons why a pokeball would not be able to recall a pokemon back into it. Either the pokeball had spoilt or was damaged, or the pokemon is dead.

Jasmine's pokeballs are definitely not damaged.

'How many psychics do we have left at the West Forest that can use Teleport and is proficient enough in it to reach us?'

'Five.'

'Get them to teleport her fallen pokemon to the West Forest.'

'Understood.'

I may not have trained her pokemon, but I knew them for many years, long enough to form a lasting friendship. To us, our pokemon are our friends and family. Losing any one of them is something we never wished to experience.

I have no idea how Jasmine is going to take that news when she learns of it.

Several more things happened at once. Hippie appeared beside us just when the other psychics that dwell in the West Forest helped to teleport Jasmine's fallen pokemon away from the battlefield. The land around us started to shift and change as it erupted, moving as though it has a mind of its own. Something is controlling the land around Olivine and is using it to do battle against the Winged Mirages.

Hippie gave Jasmine a worried look. I tried to think of a plan, tried to think of something that I can do to save her but my mind just isn't working. I think I might be hyperventilating or experiencing a panic attack, I'm not too sure. All I know is that I could barely think or move while hugging her close to me.

"Volkner! Pull yourself together!"

A light slap hit my left cheek, breaking me out of whatever I was experiencing. I blinked, finally spotting Kayla looking at me and trying her best to prevent her tears from leaking.

"Run..."

Jasmine's weak mutter brought me back to reality. Her breaths are weak, she is doing her best to stay awake and I have no idea if she could survive past today with how much blood she is losing. Even then, the only thought on her mind was our safety.

"You will be fine." I reassured her with a gulp as I stood up and carried her in my arms. I have no idea who I am trying to convince, but I will do my darn best to protect her.

The lands around us continue to explode as a hound-like figure leapt through the air and pushed the Winged Mirages back. I can make out Steven and Lorelei joining the battle from afar but it seems that even their combined might means little in the face of power the Winged Mirages are exuding.

"Volkner! Let my cleffa heal her!"

Velda managed to reach us just as we were about to try and take our leave amidst the unstable land around us. A cleffa jumped down from the back of Velda's flygon and immediately began to use a Heal Pulse in its attempt to close the worst of Jasmine's wounds.

"This is just a temporary measure. At best, it will only close the wounds and stop the bleeding." Velda quickly informed us while our pokemon did their best to protect us. If it wasn't for them we would have ended up as collateral damage. A stray bolt of lightning would have decimated us if it wasn't for Franky slapping it away with his bare hands.

Looking at our pokemon working desperately to protect us reminded me that this is not the time to freak out. Right now, I need to come up with a plan to help protect the city that she had risked her life trying to defend.

I forced myself to take a deep breath and to calm down. Olivine City needs the Sun of Sunyshore to protect it now that their Iron Wall has fallen.

"We need to find her medical attention immediately." I said as my mind slowly eased itself back to working order. I turned to face the two girls beside me as they looked back in return. I can see the fear in their eyes as the battle raged on in the airspace near the beaches of Olivine. That battle is something that even us Pillars would feel as though we are helpless infants. Even then, they are still willing to stay and help out.

I'm glad to have them around.

"Both of you have only one job. Get Jas medical attention as soon as possible, I'm counting on you guys."

I passed her into Kayla's arms and together, we carefully placed her on the back of Velda's flygon.

"What about you?"

"I'm going to make sure that her efforts are not in vain." I replied, my mind having come to a decision. I know just how much she loves her city. She is truly the Iron Wall of Olivine. The only reason Olivine had not been turned into a wasteland right now is because of her. Not even the attack from the Winged Mirages had managed to breach her defenses.

I could not be any prouder of her.

"After you get her the medical attention she needs, stay away from the city. This is out of your leagues."

"Volk-"

"Squirt, I'm serious."

Kayla closed her mouth shut, knowing that I am not taking no for an answer.

"If you really want to help, then either help to speed up the evacuation, or reach out to the higher-ups and see if they need help in anything else. Meanwhile, see if you can get hold of Eusine. He is the only one that might be able to lead the Legendary Beasts here, if he had actually managed to come into contact with them."

"G-Got it!" Kayla replied as she climbed onto her manectric's back. Velda simply gave me a nod as she rode on her flygon.

"Don't worry about Jasmine, I will make sure to get her the medical attention she needs as soon as possible. Promise."

"Thanks."

"Just don't die. I don't want to be the one to explain to her why you ended up missing."

"Have more faith in me, short stack."

"I'm not- Whatever, I will allow this to slide just this once, Volkner."

With that, Velda's flygon took off with me seeing them off. I closed my eyes and took another deep breath, trying to recollect myself. Worrying and panicking would not do me any good now. I need to find a way to resolve this situation ASAP.

I opened my eyes again and turned around to face my team. They are obviously exhausted, but are still willing to forge ahead alongside me.

"Magny, Forest, Bronzy, Molly, Drilly, Thorny; they are not with us anymore."

I could feel the mood of the entire team turning solemn. Our pokemon had known each other for more than a decade, they are close friends with each other.

"Frankly, I have no idea if we can survive this. This is the Winged Mirages we are looking at here but we are not letting their efforts go to waste. If we run now, then everything that they have done will be for naught."

Franky slammed his fists together and gave a loud bellow, telling me that he is ready to fight. The rest of my team gave me their approvals as well.

I smiled. These are my pokemon, my friends, comrades, and family. No other words need to be said, there's no need for thanks. We had been sticking by each other since the very start as one big family.

I climbed onto Simba's back in one swift motion as my mind returned to its cool and rational state. I am the Yellow Flash, the Sun of Sunyshore, I was once the strongest Gym Leader of Sinnoh. I can handle a little emergency.

Scrat gave a squeak, directing our attention to a familiar streak of raging fire heading our way.

The afro hair had arrived.

"Volk!"

"You're late." I snarked back out of habit, my eyes immediately picking out the exhausted state of his charizard and Flint's current admittedly pathetic state.

"Who did you fight against?"

"Petrel. What? Getting on in your years? Suffering from short term memory? You were the one who directed me to him!" Flint grimaced as he too, looked at the skies beside me. "Not fun at all, I tell you, that guy was close to reaching the power level of an Elite Four. He killed himself before I could get anything out of him though."

Another massive explosion took place in the skies right after he said that.

"So, those are Kanto's legends?"

"What? Getting on in your years? Your eyesight starting to fail you or is your broccoli hair still blocking your eyesight? I've been telling you since we were boys, go get it trimmed already. You need me to introduce you to a gardener to get your hair done?"

"Fuck broccolis, you know I hate that shit. I keep telling you, my hair is naturally afro. Afro!"

"Yeah, keep telling yourself that, broccoli."

"No, seriously, back to the birds. How confident are you in stopping that."

"As confident as you are. How confident are you in stopping that?"

"On a scale of one to ten with ten being absolutely confident? A zero point one, maybe."

"Oh good, we actually agree on something."

"By the way, where's Jas?"

"She's not in any condition to continue fighting any longer, so I sent her away. I told Kayla to try and get a hold on Eusine and see if he can get Johto's own legends to reach here in time, so let's hope that the Suicune maniac is able to contribute to our cause."

"So in short, we stall for time?"

"What, chickening out already?"

"As if." Flint scoffed as he released his entire team out for battle. Franky's gaze met Burner's as the two rivals grinned at each other, both of them raring to go. Simba made a leap into the sky just as Flint's charizard began to flap its wings once more.

"First one to go down treats the other to a meal."

"I'm not losing this one, Volk."

"Big words, broccoli."

"It's AFRO!"

Our pokemon shot off to meet Zapmolcuno in battle right after we said that, joining Steven and Lorelei in the battle against the Winged Mirages.

"Jarvis, commence analysis of the birds' attack patterns. Myst, you are too worn out to be useful out here, you are on rescue duty. Hide yourself and try to save as many as you can when possible. Fluffy, mega time."

Fluffy fired a Dragon Pulse the moment she mega-evolved, succeeding in stopping the chimera legend for a short second. Flint's Burner capitalised on the opening as it proceeded to bath the birds in hellfire as the rest of our team immediately collapsed on them.

"Thunder!"

I won't lie. When I first became a trainer as a little boy with nobody but Franky by my side I had envisioned myself going up against legends before, just us against the world. My foreknowledge of this world had once led me to underestimate their capabilities, my impression of these creatures still stagnated with the 2D images of the gameboy screen where everything can be computed with numbers. It was only when I went out to travel the world with my pokemon did I realise how wrong I was.

Now, my childhood fantasy has somehow become a reality, but it is a reality that I really do not want to face as an adult.

"Volk, I think these stupid birds have the Pressure ability, be careful about the kinds of moves you use on it!"

"I know!"

Like Flint said, the suffocating aura constantly pressing down upon us has to be a result of the Pressure ability. I had faced countless pokemon with this ability before but none of them had an aura so strong that it manifested as a suffocating presence that could barely allow us to even breathe.

Steven and Lorelei are doing a great job in distracting the birds, allowing Flint and I to land a successive series of attacks on it although it doesn't seem like we are hurting it at all. It just seems like it doesn't matter how much power we throw at the Winged Mirages. The same goes for Siebold, who had rushed over to help the moment he got wind of how dire things had spiralled into. None of us are inflicting any substantial damage on those birds. The only reason why the Winged Mirages did not advance any further is due to a hound-like pokemon keeping the birds at bay with its power over the land.

I'm almost certain that hound-like pokemon is Nova's Blob, but Nova is not present to answer my queries. In that case, is Blob really Zygarde that Nova had told us? If so, we might stand a chance. After all, only a legend could go against a legend.

Zapmolcuno, the fusion of the Kanto's Legendary Birds to create an entirely new being. A chimera-like pokemon that is able to command the powers of ice, lightning, and fire to great effect. Its speed in the skies is so fast that even my pokemon could not hold a candle to it.

So this is the power of Kanto's legends.

Tried as we might, the Winged Mirages are not paying us any mind at all. The only thing it is focusing its attention on is Blob, because that pokemon is the only thing that is actually capable of pushing it back and inflicting some serious damage while it's at it. To Zapmolcuno, the rest of us are insignificant beings, like mere ants that it could crush at any time. The only reason why we are still alive right now is because the Winged Mirages is treating us as though we don't exist, as if our presence poses no threat to it whatsoever.

That terrifies me. The collective power of five Pillars, each having the power of an Elite Four or higher, is doing nothing to it.

This pokemon is a real legend.

"Franky, Discharge!"

"Burner, Lava Plume!"

Flint and I commanded our starters to unleash another devastating wave of attack the moment we saw another opening, earning nothing else but an annoyed glare from the legendary birds for our trouble. Steven's mega metagross smashed into it with a Meteor Mash only for Zapmolcuno to slap it away with another flap of its wings.

This is going nowhere.

Despite our best efforts, sections of the city near the beach had been destroyed as a result of our battle. We are trying to keep the damages to the minimum but it feels like everything is for naught. I could hear voices shouting over the comms as Pillars that were stationed all over Indigo are starting to report in, telling us that they are on their way to help us.

Honestly, I am starting to think that even the full might of Indigo's Pillars are not going to be of any use.

I could recognise Shannon's voice over the transmission as well. It seems that the R&D team had managed to evacuate out of the city in time and now they had positioned themselves outside the edge of the city, monitoring the state of the battle with whatever machines they managed to bring along with them. They are trying to analyse the energy readings from the birds' mysterious power in order to help us devise a way to bring it down.

I did manage to catch two things from the sporadic and garbled transmissions within the chaotic battlefield. For one, it seems that the fusion of the three individual birds is not stable; they had not yet fully merged to form a complete Zapmolcuno, for the lack of a better description. The three entities that made up this chimera legend had not managed to fully synchronise with each other. Secondly, the initial attack it fired that brought Jasmine down is not something it can use often. It is similar to the logic behind how Hyper Beam works. To use such a powerful move again would require the user to take some time to recharge the energy required to use that move again.

However, Shannon had also warned us that it seems as if the time between each shot will gradually lessen because according to the readings the R&D team are seeing, the sync rate between the energies emitted from each of the birds are getting steadily higher with each passing second. I don't know what is the scientific reason behind it, but I do understand that the higher the sync rate, the shorter the recharge time behind each of that unknown attack. Things are going to get even worse once they are fully in sync with each other.

We need to defeat Zapmolcuno before that happens. We cannot allow Zapmolcuno to land a second shot. If they really have to fire that attack one more time, we must ensure that it doesn't hit anything. Otherwise, Olivine is toast.

Fire, ice, and lightning rained down all around us and it is taking everything we have to even try and stay alive. None of our pokemon are in their mega evolved state by now. None of us here are able to continue to sustain it even through force.

Shannon's voice could be heard through the comms once again, telling us that there isn't much time left before the second shot is inevitably fired. If the second shot were to be fired then it won't be just Olivine that is done for. The second shot will no doubt be stronger than the first, everything beyond Olivine might be implicated, including the civilians that we had just evacuated to Route 39 and are currently making their way to Ecruteak.

The three-headed chimera gave another sky-rending shriek as a bright glow began to form right in front of their opened jaws.

"It's going to fire that attack again!"

Steven's shout confirmed our worst fears. Blob attempted to stop it immediately and the rest of us followed suit. We absolutely cannot allow a second shot to be fired at Olivine.

Someone needs to do something, fast.

Steven was the first to try and do something, his team of steel types already attempting to force open a route for us to interrupt Zapmolcuno's attack before it could be unleashed. Lorelei and Siebold are commanding their pokemon to help restrict Zapmolcuno's movements, giving Flint and I the freedom to stop Zapmolcuno.

"Overheat!"

"Thunder!"

Fire and lightning crashes upon Zapmolcuno as our pokemon released their attacks. What we didn't expect was for the Legendary Birds to fire its attack prematurely to meet our own. Our attacks met the white light and detonated in a blinding explosion above Olivine that blew us all back. Thankfully, it seems that Olivine remains relatively unscathed due to Zapmolcuno's premature firing of its own attack. Our interference has prevented it from building up the required amount of energy that could level Olivine into rubble.

"Volk! Look out!"

I had heard Flint's warning. My eyes saw what was coming but it was still too fast for any of us to react. Zapmolcuno had decided to get physical. It is now charging straight at us in what undoubtedly is a Sky Attack. We have to evade it if we don't want to get ourselves splattered.

"Simba!"

Simba immediately tried to dodge but even I can tell that we wouldn't be fast enough. I spotted a powerful Scald being fired from below that slowed the monstrosity for a split second as a few other electrical attacks were being fired from other directions. Zapmolcuno screamed in annoyance as its three heads turned towards three different directions before firing various elemental attacks at whoever was trying to kill me and Simba.

"GLOWY! VIK! ISPY! TOSS! RUN!"

I could hear Franky's furious roar as he descended from above and slammed Zapmolcuno towards the ground as Blob fired a massive Dragon Pulse from afar in an attempt to interrupt the birds' attack. It worked, but still too late. No matter how I pressed on the buttons of my pokeballs that contained my four pokemon that were trying to save me earlier, none could be recalled.

They died trying to save me. My family that had been by my side for so many years.

"GODFUCKING DAMMIT! KILL THAT DAMN BIRD!"

"VOLK! CALM DOWN!"

Losing your sense of reason in the heat of battle is the stupidest thing to do, I know that, but that was what I did despite Flint's warning. I could not recall exactly in vivid detail what me and the rest of my team did but I remembered relishing in vengeful delight when Franky finally managed to draw blood from Zapmolcuno in our rage.

There's our chance.

"KILL IT! THEY CANNOT BE WHOLE IF ONE IS DEAD!"

Myst teleported in immediately with Tec in tow, their combination of Stone Edge and Psycho Cut aggravating Zapmolcuno's wound even further, our rage behind the death of our family members fuelling our exhausted bodies. I barely recalled the rest of the Pillars trying to assist us and Blob, too engrossed in trying to enact vengeance for my family and also for Jas.

I don't care if they are legends. I don't care if they are under the command of Team Rocket and are being brainwashed to commit heinous acts. They hurt my family, they damn well pay in blood.

Another burst of flames impacted against the chimera legend, giving me and my team some precious time to recollect ourselves. Flint and his fire types initiated another salvo as he and the other Pillars present finally caught up to our pace. Steven shouted at me over the din, relaying to me information that I had missed when anger had clouded my mind.

"Volkner, move! It's about to fire the third shot!"

That soon? The recharge time between the second and third shot is at least two times faster between the first and the second!

"Pull back!"

Looking back, I'm glad that I was level headed enough to command my team to retreat. Zapmolcuno started to give chase, finally seeing us as a threat after we managed to draw blood but Blob had put itself in the way, trying its best to push the bird back to the sea and out of the city with its small little body.

'Master. I don't think some of us are able to continue.'

My eyes quickly checked on my pokemon's condition. Myst is right. Some of them are obviously not going to be able to keep up if things continue as they are. At the rate we are going, they will only get themselves killed.

"Boomer, Bask, Scrat, Squeaky. Go find Jas and stay with her. Protect her for me."

Boomer was the most vocal among the four. He made his displeasure extremely clear from how loud he is protesting but it is also equally obvious that he is in no shape to continue to tango against a legendary pokemon. He wants to stay and fight, to avenge the deaths of our family and especially for Toss who he had the closest relationship to but there's no way he's going to survive when Zapmolcuno focuses its attention on us again.

"Please." I croaked, no longer have the energy to keep up with appearances or to say another single word. It shut them up immediately.

Franky said something to them which got the four of them to reluctantly leave our side and flew out of the city to search for Jasmine. There's only eleven of us now, which isn't good. We are still a target for the three-headed bird, evident from how it is still out for our blood despite having Blob and the other Pillars holding it back. It is ignoring anything and everything in its way just to get rid of us in its quest for petty revenge.

In all honesty, this isn't a good sign for us, but I can make use of that.

"If Zapmolcuno chases after us once more, we head for the sea. We have to limit the damage to the city as much as we can. Puddle can also fight with greater freedom there with water at his disposal. Clear?"

Another shockwave of power exploded near us the moment I finished saying that. Zapmolcuno freed itself from Blob's hold and its three heads snapped towards us in obvious anger. We turned and ran for the sea immediately. My eyes widened when the damn ball of white light began to manifest in front of its three jaws once again and that is undoubtedly aimed towards us. This time, the time needed to manifest that energy required is obviously a lot shorter than the previous one.

"SCATTER!"

My team scattered immediately upon my instruction just as Zapmolcuno fired its third shot. Zapmolcuno is obviously targeting me from how the beam of energy seemingly has a mind of its own as its trajectory altered itself somehow to track me down and it is taking everything Simba has to try and avoid our doom. Up to the clouds, down towards the sea, that damn white beam acts like a freaking guided missile and is still after our ass no matter how we swerved and turned at impossible angles in our attempt to throw it off.

"No! DON'T COME HERE! STAY AWAY!"

I shouted at the rest of my pokemon to keep their distance the moment they realised that I am Zapmolcuno's target and are trying to do something to save me. However, it is more than likely that it will be a futile cause because they definitely won't be fast enough. We will just suffer needless casualties.

My pokemon, however, obviously don't plan on listening to me.

Yellow streaks of light moved to converge around Simba and I while firing their attacks at the white beam that is still chasing after us. It is not really having any effect. Simba continues to fly at high speeds towards the furthest end of the ocean because if that massive condensed beam of energy has to detonate, it will be better for it to implode away from any form of life.

Too many had died today.

It is getting painfully obvious that the beam of white light is catching up and there's nothing we can do to stop it from killing us all. I can feel Myst straining himself to try and reach out to me with a Teleport, fully intending on teleporting me out of the area even if it means leaving everyone else behind, the one thing which I will never do.

'I will take over from here.'

By some sort of sheer dumb luck, the beam of energy was forcefully redirected up into the sky by what was obviously a psychic intervention, saving us all in the process. A familiar looking pokemon with a feline shaped face and humanoid figure complete with a thick purple tail teleported in front of us, floating in the air with its psychic powers alone.

"Mewtwo…?"

It's Mewtwo alright, there's no way I am going to mistake it for anything else after the battle we fought at Indigo Plateau today trying to free it from the M2 Bind, but why is it here?

'Call this my repayment of the favour I owed you when you bust me out of the accursed M2 Bind back at Indigo Plateau earlier. Now, leave. From here onwards this will be the battle of the gods. I am angry and the oversized dodrio looks like it will make a very good punching bag to vent my rage. You mere mortals don't want to be caught up in it.'

Mewtwo disappeared in front of our eyes and a split second later we could see a huge psychic explosion happening right at where Zapmolcuno was, causing it to screech in pain. Mewtwo's attacks are definitely working and if it is really fighting to help put down the chimera bastard, then it is a powerful ally to have.

I blinked my eyes to force myself to stay conscious when I realised that my vision was slowly fading. It was then that I realised that I am losing my grip on Simba from where I am riding on his back. Now that the adrenaline is starting to fade, I realised that I had been bleeding out from a nasty gash to the side of my head for who-knows-how-long.

Shit, blood loss is the last thing I need right now. I still have to fight to help protect Olivine. Jas' sacrifice cannot be in vain.

'Master, you are in no condition to continue fighting.'

"The city-" I replied, only to groan as my hand automatically went to my head when the pain and discomfort exceeded my tolerable threshold.

Fuck, this really isn't good. Black spots are starting to fill my vision and it is starting to get really hard to even try and think clearly. I'm starting to feel really weak all over.

I felt more than saw Myst trying to close the wound near my head with a Heal Pulse and felt more than saw Franky carrying me with his arms as our team came to a collective decision on their own to turn tail and headed away from the scene of the battle.

The last thing I think I remembered was me holding onto one of the four pokeballs, still desperately trying and hoping to recall any of our fallen family members that were attacked by Zapmolcuno in their attempt to save me.

The pokeball never received any response.
