* Later that same day

* Close to sunset

I tapped my foot anxiously as I waited for Sylveon to answer the call. Sylveon answered after about three rings.

"Hey, where are you guys? I'm here at school waiting for you all and nobody's here."

"I'm sorry Sylveon I completely forgot. I walked home. Everyone else probably did the same."

"No it's okay. Wait hold on a second."

"Okay."

I heard Sylveon open up messages on the other line for about a minute until he got back on the phone.

"I just got back their messages. Evelyn took the bus home and Ryu left in his limo with Fennekin. Everyone just headed home why?"

"I think I know why. A lot of wierd things happpenned today. If you come over I'll explain it to you and well honestly I could really use the company."

"Sure I'll be there in about 10 minutes."

"Okay, seeya."

"Bye."

I hung up and did nothing but wait the 10 minutes eager to get all this mess of my chest.

As soon as I heard his car pull up in the driveway I practically barreled down the stairs.

I opened the front door in a flurry and Sylveon flinched back in surprise looking like he was about to knock.

"Oh Eevee. You scared...me."

"Sylveon!"

I held him tightly feeling a slight knot in my throat.

"Hey what's wrong? Hey."

Sylveon put his paws on my shoulder but I was too embarassed to look up. He just complied and held me close.

"Eevee what's wrong? Are you okay? Did someone hurt you?"

I looked up at him and his expression softened when he looked at my face.

"Ryu did something irresponsible and I hated seeing it."

"What happenned? What did he do? Please tell me."

He gently cupped my cheeks his face full of worry.

A single tear fell down and he wiped it away with his paw.

We sat down on the steps outside my house and I told him what I saw at school.

"Wow that really happenned?"

"Yeah."

"And I take it Evelyn's not going to be too happy if she finds out?"

"Yeah."

"And I know you probably don't want to tell her because you are her best friend and you're just looking out for her."

"Pretty much."

Sylveon heaved a sigh.

"Really Ryu?"

I said nothing.

"Are you okay?"

"No I'm not. I don't want my friends to be fighting."

"I'm sorry that was dumb of me to ask."

"How can I tell her Sylveon? That her crush kissed her least favorite pokemon and he's leading her on that he likes her when he really likes Fennekin?

I wiped away the new tears that were coming down.

"Sylveon..."

"Eevee come here."

I couldn't hold back the tears anymore and I broke out into a sob in Sylveon's arms. Sylveon rubbed my back and lightly pecked my forehead.

"I'm sorry Sylveon...ahehe...I don't mean to *sniff push my problems onto you."

"No I want you to. Because I would rather help you face them then you alone."

"Thank...you."

He kissed my forehead again. Trying to tell me he's here for me in his own way.

"I just want to not think about it."

"Well then, I know it's not the best time but would you like to go out on Valentines Day with me?"

"And with everyone else?"

"No just us. What do you say?"

I thought about it for a minute and realized I deserved to have fun. Not trying to fix what I shouldn't be really fixing. It would be a good disctraction from everything else and I would also be with my best friend and crush.

"I'd love to."

* Valentines Day

I quickly adjusted the ribbon around my ear as I waited for Sylveon to pick me up.

My friends had slowly stopped talking the days after the first. And I couldn't get into touch with any of them.

So for now I was just putting it aside and wanted to spend time with Sylveon.

I heard the sound of a loud engine pull up the driveway and I looked in surprise to see it was Sylveon.

He was riding a motorcycle.

"Sylveon?! Where did you get the motorcycle?"

"My mom bought it for me. She wants to use the SUV for work but didn't want to leave me without a car and so she bought me the bike."

"A leather jacket too? Are you trying to go all out for me?"

"Of course Eevee. I just want to impress you."

"Aww you didn't have to do all this. I like you for who you are."

"I know, I just wanted to make today special."

He said as he pulled out a bouquet in a flurry.

"Ah bluebonnets! Aww thank you!"

I said with a happy giggle as I kissed his cheek.

"You look great by the way."

"And you look handsome."

Sylveon chuckled and brushed the hair out of my face.

"Ready to go?"

"Yup!"

I said as I got on in front of him. He handed my a helmet and I quickly put it on and clutched the flowers tightly in my paw.

"Hold on tight and lean into the curves when I tell you."

"Alright- Whoah!"

I screamed as Sylveon took off fast with the bike. I grabbed onto him afraid of flying off in spite of being on lap.

"Hey Sylveon slow down!"

"Sorry just wanted to have a little fun."

He said before slowing down to a more reasonable speed.

"So where are we going?"

"You'll see when we get there."

"Okay."

I said as I snuggled into his chest as we drove off like the wind.

*15 minutes later

*At Mystic Lake Park

Sylveon brought the bike to a stop. He got off and offered help down.

I grabbed it and slid down into his chest when he turned suddenly while holding me and dipped me down like we were dancing.

"Ahaha! Sylveon!"

"Sorry I couldn't resist."

He said as he stood me back up. He grabbed the picnic basket in the back and offered his paw again to me. I took it and we headed through the gate together.

"I remember when Ryu brought me here. Wow that was a long time ago."

"I think I remember. I was here with a date at the time."

"A Gardevoir if I recall correctly. What happenned?"

"She was talking about her ex and how much she missed him. And that she wasn't ready to move on. She just wanted to get back with him and left."

"Did that bother you?"

"No I just asked her out when I saw she looked sad at school. I just wanted to give good company. I hope they got back together."

"I hope so too. But hey now you're here with me."

"That I am."

We cuddled a bit as we walked past the huge fountain.

"Here. This looks like a good spot."

Sylveon said as he set down the basket and opened it to pull out the sheet. I helped him lay it out on the grass and started to set the silverware for us.

"What's on the menu? Magikonalds?"

"You wound me Eevee. I made lunch for us."

Sylveon said as he pulled out a small cooking pot and opened the lid to reveal chicken noodle soup.

"Oh soup."

"And that's not all."

He pulled out sandwiches on a tray and set them down.

"Oh wow those look yummy."

"What will the lady have to drink? Apple juice or soda?"

"Soda please."

He poured us both a glass and handed it to me before pouring the soup in the bowls for us.

I took a nibble and my cheeks warmed up with joy.

"Do you like it?"

"I love it! Did you really make this yourself?"

"Yeah I did. Though I'm surprised it's not more burnt at the edges."

"Shut up Sylveon it's tasty."

"Hehe okay."

"Hey Sylveon?"

"What?"

"Say ahh."

I said as I held out a spoonful for him. He chuckled and happily took a sip. We took turns feeding each other several times before we laughed and just ate our lunch.

"Hey Eevee there's a crumb on your face."

"Where? Here?"

"No other side."

"Here?"

"No up a little."

"Here?"

"No! No! Too high! Go down a little."

"Here?"

"No it's..."

Sylveon reached forward and kissed my cheek.

"...here"

I flushed red as I realized Sylveon just wanted to kiss me. I took a sip of my drink when I realized I didn't bring a gift for Sylveon.

I thought about it even while I was cuddling next to Sylveon on the blanket.

I'll figure it out.

"Hmm..."

"It's starting to get chilly."

"It is still Feburary."

"I suppose it is."

I laughed and felt completely relaxed.

"It's actually pretty nice today."

"It is."

We laid there as the wind picked up just a little.

"Thanks for asking me out Sylveon. I really needed this."

"You're welcome."

We left the park shortly afterwards to go watch a movie. While we were there I was thinking about what would be the perfect gift for him.

When the movie ended on the way home I suddenly thought up of an idea.

"Hey Sylveon wait here! I have to go get something for you!"

"Oh Eevee you don't have to."

"I insist. Especially after you treated me today."

"Alright, I'll wait here then."

I squealed a bit as I headed upstairs to get the gift. Luckily my parents weren't back from their date yet and Hope was being watched by a friend of mom's after I told them I already made plans.

I ran upstairs hoping I had some snacks left for Sylveon. I pulled out the box from under my bed and thankfully there was some left over.

I quickly wrapped some in a plastic wrap baggie, added something from the kitchen basket, and tied a ribbon on top of it.

I hurried outside to go give my gift to Sylveon.

"Here this is for you."

"Oh oran berries and cookies. Thank you very much Eevee."

"Hehe you're welcome."

I flushed hard not knowing what else to say. My heart was screaming at me to do something while my head was just muttering rubbish.

So I listened to my heart.

I put my arms around Sylveon and kissed him. He put his gift down and wrapped his arms around me.

My legs nearly gave in as I melted into the kiss.
