When The Tables Are Turned On The Dursleys:
Chapter Thirty Two
It had been two weeks since she had recovered from all injuries she had gotten from the first task.
She had shown the parchment to everyone, James, Rose, Hugo, Fred...and all her cousins, but they couldn't understand what it meant.
Lily was sitting in her bed, holding the parchment in her hands. She stared at it.
"I don't know what to do..." She murmured.
The parchment had a picture of a black box, and a white box. And a single statement was written on it.
"Let the games begin."
Albus had told her to send it to Aunt Hermione, and as much as she had tried to solve it herself. She couldn't.
"Black and white..." She whispered to herself, as she watched Melissa shift in her sleep.
She finally did what she had to. She dispatched a letter addressed to the Weasley-Granger House, and finally fell asleep, content that Hermione will surely have an answer for her.
The second task was in three days.
All of them were sitting in the Great Hall for breakfast, and Lily was dozing off again and again. Lately, she had been sleep depraved.
"Wake up, Lil!"" Melissa pulled her hair out of the porridge. "Look, Jasmine is here!"
She pointed to a white owl, with a yellow patch on the top. She looked up, as Jasmine landed on her neck.
Jasmine was Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione's owl. She hadn't expected an answer so soon.
"Oh My GOD!" Lily got up,
"What...?"
Melissa asked worriedly.
"What happened?"
"Lil..."
Fred, James, Rose and Melissa got up too. Lily was running out the hall.
Albus looked over and followed them.
"Lily!" He shouted.
"This is a HOWLER!" She shouted back.
They followed her, and the howler exploded.
"LILY LUNA POTTER!"
It shouted, Everyone recognized the voice of Ron Weasley.
James grinned.
"HOW CAN YOU ASK THAT QUESTION?!"
Lily started to relax. Rose looked worried still.
"RON, DID YOU JUST A HOWLER TO LILY?" Hermione's worried voice came through. "It is supposed to a secret, and you sent a howler!"
"Relax, Hermione!" Ron spoke back, "It's just a joke!"
"But a Howler!"
"Lily is a smart girl!" Ron spoke, "She'll run out of that hall as she sees it's a howler!"
Lily smiled. Because that was exactly what she did.
"And all of the others will come after her...!" Hermione argued. "And make a scene!"
Now, everyone else smiled. Because that was exactly what they did.
"So...The second clue is..." Ron talked slowly as James clicked impatiently. "Black and white!"
Lily sighed.
"DON'T YOU GET IT!?" He shouted again. "IT'S MCGONAGALL'S CHESS BOARD!"
"Wait. What?"
Everyone looked at each other shocked.
