Tweeters, ninji, and snifits poured out of the hallways and air ducts to surround Waluigi, Daisy and Wanda. Wart's giant face loomed over them all from his monitor.
"This is your last chance, Daisy dear," he said. "You put any thought into my offer?"
One look at her team was all Daisy needed to feel certain.
"Cram it, Wart!" she said, "We're not helping you!"
"Aw, Daze, boobala, you're breakin' my heart!" Wart said. "I thought AT LEAST you cared about what happens to your kingdom's people, but I guess not?"
Black wisps of magic erupted all over the lobby as more creatures were teleported in. Nokobons, fighter flies, gaos, pionpi, tokotokos, kumos and chibibos all appeared, each of them swaying and unsteady under the influence of dark magic. King Totomesu roared into existence alongside the cloud king Biokinton and the giant seahorse king Dragonzamasu who swam through the air. A good chunk of Daisy's subjects stared her down, looking ready to smash her face in.
"I really didn't want to have to do this," Wart yawned. "But if you don't want to play for the winning team then I guess there's no helping you. Anyway. To all my fans out there in the lobby, I want to thank you all SO much for showing up. Be sure to subscribe to my every command and SMASH these haters to show your support. Love ya!"
The monitor blipped out of existence. The army of dreamy, brainwashed fans lurched towards Daisy and Waluigi ready to brawl. Right behind them, Daisy's three vassal kings reared back to attack.
"MOUSER IS MY FAVORITE!" Dragonzamasu shrieked as he spat fireballs through the air to kill. "HE'S SO COOL."
"Yikes!" Wanda said.
Daisy, Wanda, and Waluigi scattered to avoid the attack only to wade into the mob of attacking fans. Waluigi elbowed and kicked Sarasaland civilians to keep them at bay.
"HEY!" Daisy shouted, "Quit bruising my subjects!"
"What do ya want me to do?! Ask them politely to stop?!" Waluigi said as he tossed an exploding nokobon into a crowd of snifits. "You're fighting them too!"
Daisy clotheslined her way through an entire row of chumps before choke slamming a ninji into a wall. "That's different! I'm their princess!"
"Then tell them to stop!"
She rolled her eyes as she head butted a tokotoko unconscious. Fine. She might as well try.
"Yo! This is her royal majesty Daisy speaking! I'm issuing an executive order for ya'll to knock this off!"
"NEVER!" Totomesu said. "If you aren't a fan of the 8-bits, then peace was never an option!"
"Yeah!" Biokinton said while tossing his pet chickens around to attack. "Don't even talk to me unless it's about Wart!"
Wanda yelped as she fluttered over the fight, dodging projectiles and poultry, and mostly looking anxious.
"We shouldn't be fighting!" she said. "It's not their fault they got brain tricked!"
Daisy thought it might be a LITTLE BIT their fault. But she refrained from mentioning the time a space alien mind controlled her whole kingdom since there being a precedent for this sort of thing happening probably did not reflect well on her as a leader.
"We can't just sit here and take it!" Waluigi said.
"Can you fix them with magic or something?!" Daisy said.
Wanda zipped around to evade fireballs. "I'm only good at making blocks and whales! I can't…" Her eyes lit up. "…Wait! That gives me an idea!"
A gao tried to pounce on Daisy from behind but she grabbed him out of the air to judo throw him into a row of fighter flies.
"Ideas are good!" she said, "What's the idea?"
"Get these jerks to stop shooting fireballs at me and I'll show you!"
Daisy and Waluigi looked over the crowd at the primary flame spitters, King Totomesu and Dragonzamasu.
"I call dibs on the seahorse! You take down the furball!" Waluigi said.
"Got it!"
They leapt onto the heads of the oncoming enemies and bounced across the rowdy mob to reach the bosses. Waluigi scooped up a few hapless enemies on the way and chucked them in Dragonzamasu's face. The sea king hissed and lunged to bite Waluig's head off, only to snap down on thin air and for Waluigi to climb up onto his back.
Totomesu took a swipe at Daisy but she managed to dodge behind him and nab him by the tail. She pulled the big cat off his feet and twisted on her heel with all her strength to swing him into the air, spinning a couple times like an Olympic weight thrower, before letting go and watching him howl across the length of the concert hall.
Waluigi held on as Dragonzamasu bucked wildly to throw him off with no success. Waluigi cackled as he steered the great beast straight through the now fleeing minions and jumping off right before slamming into a wall.
It was only a couple moments before Totomesu and Dragonzamasu shook off their blows and got back up to fight. But before they got the chance, Wanda clapped her hands together.
"Thanks!" she said, before splitting apart into dozens and dozens of duplicate Wandas.
"Oh yeah," Daisy said. "I forgot she could do that."
The Wandas whirled through the air and snatched Waluigi and Daisy off the ground, flying across the lobby faster than the brainwashed fans could follow. The flock of Wandas set the two of them down right outside the door to the auditorium and turned to face the oncoming horde. Each of the Wandas flew in a tight grid pattern, and each one summoned their own block which together formed a huge wall.
The minions and fans slammed into the wall and the blocks rattled. They pounded against the wall, trying to knock their way through. The Wandas let out a variety of little 'Oh no!'s and 'Eek!'s and pushed to brace the block wall with their tiny bodies.
"I'll hold them off as long as I can!" One of the Wandas said. "You guys go stop Wart!"
Waluigi adjusted his cap and nodded. "You can count on us."
"You're the best, Wanda!" Daisy said.
The two of them turned and kicked in the door to the auditorium. Time to be heroes.
