Destination Reached! A New Warrior Arrives!

Once the beeping on the ship started up, everyone knew that Vampa had been reached. The inhabitants of the ship all conjugated to the central control room, the place Zamasu had been spending most of his time lately, and looked outside.

The planet is big and green, covered in craters from meteor impacts. What water can be seen is green as well, and the gas of the atmosphere is predominantly yellow. Cheelai manages to summarize everyone's thoughts in one sentence and a grimace. "Ugh, that planet looks disgusting."

Zamasu, fiddling with the ship controls, responds, "Luckily we won't need to land on the planet. Our target is in the outer atmosphere and still isn't moving."

As Zamasu pilots the ship around the planet to their target, Goku turns to Toga and Cheelai and says, "I've had this question for a while. Why is Kenyo so awesome to you guys?"

Toga's eyes light up and she grins widely. "Oh, Kenyo is just the best! You see, when Frieza came to planet Hera, Kenyo was the one to fight him! Kenyo was so strong, he nearly beat Frieza! In fact, Frieza said Kenyo was the first to see his third form!"

Goku's eyes widen in surprise. "Woah! He's that strong?"

Cheelai nods enthusiastically. "He really is! We don't know how strong he is now, but he must be even stronger!"

Toga's grin widens. "Oh, and he's super handsome and kind! He loves helping other people!"

"Although", Cheelai mutters with a grimace. "He seems to love fighting WAY too much. People have said he's more like a kind saiyan than a Hera warrior."

Vegeta, not interested for the most part, tunes back into the conversation with that final statement. "A saiyan-like Hera?" Vegeta grins wickedly. "Sounds like fun."

Goku turns to Vegeta and pouts. "Aw, come on Vegeta! I want to fight him too!"

Vegeta growls and replies, "Absolutely not, Kakarot! You got to fight Frieza with the faker, and I will not let this chance slip by!"

Goku shakes his head and puts his hands on his hips. "I didn't get to fight Frieza, he was too strong! Besides, you didn't get to fight cause you got knocked out."

Vegeta turns to Goku with a snarl and yells, "I only got knocked out because I was unprepared! I deserve a second chance!"

"Children, please," Zamasu groans out. "Both of you can fight him at some point. Be patient." Goku and Vegeta huff and turn away from each other. Zamasu, noticing the action, rolls his eyes and turns the ship to the left. "Either way, I believe I have found our target."

Everyone perks up and looks outside the window of the ship. There, floating silently on the very edges of Vampa's atmosphere, is a ship. A ship similar in design to the Hera ships they saw on Planet Hera, but with one strange detail. The entire ship is covered in a light blue, translucent material, similar in appearance to many strands of string.

Moving the ship closer, Zamasu carefully sets their ship near the presumed ship of Kenyo. Zamasu stands up and turns to the group, "Kenyo is likely inside the ship. However, that blue barrier around the ship seems to be blocking entry through Instant Transmission. We'll need to use space suits and investigate the barrier ourselves." Receiving a nod from everyone, Zamasu leads them all to the airlock. Here, they all put on space suits, each one connected via radio. With that finished, Zamasu opens the airlock and they all step into the emptiness of space.

Moving to Kenyo's ship is easy with ki control. They all cross the short distance with no issue, other than Cheelai needing some assistance. However, they are presented with a new issue when they reach the barrier surrounding the ship. Cheelai floats closer, grabbing a string and barely loosening it enough to wrap her small finger around it. She peers closely and mutters, "These are strings. Really small strings, but incredibly durable from how taunt it is." Cheelai looks at the barrier, beginning to see the strings shining in the light of a nearby star. "There are a ton of strings here, covering the whole ship. What happened, and who put these here?"

Zamasu examines the ship some more, looking for an entrance of some sort, while Goku examines the strings again. He rubs a hand across it, stretching his ki senses past the suit he is in. His eyes widen. "They are made of ki!"

Vegeta quickly tries to grab a string, but when unable to, settles for resting a hand over-top the barrier of strings. "You're right. All these strings are composed of ki."

Cheelai tries to pull on the string she managed to grab, but it refuses to break. She huffs in annoyance, then tells Toga to come help her. Toga tries to break the string, but even with her ki-enhanced strength she can't break the string.

Meanwhile, Goku is looking across the ship, helping Zamasu in trying to find an entrance. "Where did the strings come from?"

Zamasu hums to himself as he examines what looks like the front of the ship. The inside lights are off. "If they are made of ki, they must've been placed here deliberately. Someone wanted Kenyo trapped."

Toga looks down and thinks. "I remember hearing rumors that Bojack and his Galaxy Soldiers were developing an experimental ki technique using strings. Could they have done this?"

Cheelai shrugs. "Kenyo and Bojack hated each other, so it's possible. I don't think we'll find out unless we get past these strings though."

Zamasu frowns, then lifts his hand. The soft glow of his ki blade appears in the black and hums silently. Lowering the blade to the strings, Zamasu tries to cut through them. However, no matter how hard he pushes, he can't cut through. He can't even scratch the strings. Growling in irritation, Zamasu turns to the group. "My blades can't cut through. If we want to get into Kenyo's ship, we'll need to find something stronger."

Goku looks at his back, then says, "What about super saiyan?"

Zamasu shakes his head. "None of you have transformed yet, and I still am inexperienced." In this timeline, at least. "If we want to break through, we need someone stronger."

Vegeta crosses his arms and scowls. "And where do you plan on finding someone stronger than you, the person who took down Frieza."

At this, Zamasu is silent. Then, he feels a presence in his mind. "You know, you can always check Vampa." Zamasu's gaze shifts to the sickly green planet. He hums softly, then says out loud, "Let's check Vampa. Maybe someone lives there and is strong enough."

Vegeta scoffs in reply. "As if someone lives there. It's a dead, backwater planet!" Just then, a massive burst of energy comes off the planet, the first sign of life they sensed since arriving. Everyone turns to Vegeta, the prince staring at the orb in disbelief. He growls and takes off toward the planet, obviously annoyed. Everyone else follows the prince, a smirk plastered on all of their faces. Even Cheelai, who can't even sense ki.

Upon arrival to the surface of the planet, everyone is able to see how distasteful Vampa truly is. Rocks protrude from the ground, some creating small mountains, and all of them filled with holes. Craters pocket the land, each filled with a strange, green substance. No life can be seen anywhere on the planet.

Vegeta, a little impulsively, takes off his helmet. He is glad that the air is breathable, if a bit disgusting and dusty. Seeing Vegeta isn't in any pain, the rest of the group takes off their helmets, and then their suits.

Zamasu looks around, Goku extending his ki senses, as Cheelai says out loud, "You guys think someone is here?"

Toga nods, examining the landscape. "There must be. We all felt the energy burst coming from here."

Vegeta scowls, annoyed at not being able to find something. Then, without warning, Goku yells, "Vegeta, look out!" Vegeta quickly jumps back, and just in time too. A long tongue with a piercing needle at the end of it cracks the ground where Vegeta was just standing. Vegeta looks up at the creature that attacked him and is disgusted.

A massive insect creature stands above them. It has six legs and its back is covered in a thick, orange-colored shell. Its face is vaguely humanoid, a wicked grin stretched across it, its needle tongue swishing side-to-side outside its mouth. The most disturbing feature, however, is its size. It is the size of Goku, at least 6 feet tall.

Cheelai recoils in disgust and fear, and Toga looks quite disturbed by the creature's appearance. Vegeta scowls and Goku falls into a fighting stance as Zamasu folds his hands behind his back. Then, the kai smirks, his gaze turning to his right. The beetle grins wider, its tongue raising, aimed right at Cheelai. The girl steps back again, then screams as the tongue flies toward her.

Then, a sudden kick comes from seemingly nowhere and the bug is punted into the distance. Once again, everyone takes in a new arrival. Long, wild black hair, a green pelt of fur around his waist. No shirt is seen, allowing everyone to see the man's scarred chest and back. The man turns to them silently, not saying a word.

Goku and Vegeta react first, their eyes widening in surprise. "Woah," Goku exclaims. "This guy's power is awesome!"

Vegeta frowns, crossing his arms. "This must be the power we felt on the planet."

Suddenly, a new voice echoes across the vast wastelands. "BROLY!" The new arrival, Broly it seems, turns to the voice and frowns slightly. He shoots into the sky, hovering there silently. Everyone looks at him in confusion, wondering what he could possibly be doing.

The reason is clear, however, when another new arrival appears. This time it's an old man, his hair showing the first signs of gray. His skin is slightly wrinkled, and his muscles are well defined. Over his body is an old, beaten set of saiyan armor.

As everyone gapes in shock at the realization of finding two more saiyans, Vegeta openly scowls at seeing the old man. His memory is fuzzy, and in a few years or so he would've probably forgotten about these two, but right now he can remember them well. Crossing his arms and putting on his authoritative, princely persona, Vegeta walks up to the old man and frowns deeply.

The old man, in return, stares at Vegeta with open shock. His eyes are wide and his mouth agape. His fists clench tightly next to him, veins showing from the force. Then, he regains his composure, seemingly to lose all the tension in his body. "Ah, Prince Vegeta. To what do we owe the… pleasure of this visit?"

Vegeta scowls even deeper, remember more and more why he disliked this particular saiyan. "It seems exile has not done you kindly Paragus. At least your son seems well. Broly, was it?"

Paragus glances at his son, the tall saiyan man staring silently at the tw of them. "Yes, he is quite well. Now, enough pleasantries. Why are you here? You banished me and my son for exile all those years ago, and now you suddenly come to this god-forsaken place."

Vegeta growls softly in distaste. "Believe me, I never would've come on my own merits. We happened to be here when we were pursuing a goal of ours." Vegeta gestures to the group behind him, all of whom are listening with thinly veiled interest.

Paragus looks at the group, then back to Vegeta. "I see. I guess me and my son are both quite fortunate that you decided to grace us with your presence then." The tension in the air is palpable as Paragus sends hidden insults to the prince. Such comments are not missed by the saiyan's ears.

Vegeta scoffs in annoyance. "Please, don't flatter yourself. Really what we need is your son there."

Both Paragus and Broly show surprise, the first sign of emotion from the latter. "Why my son," asks Paragus. "What does he have that you don't?"

Vegeta looks down, obviously uncomfortable with what he has to say. "We need another strong fighter for our goal. We felt his power from space and can tell he is as strong, if not stronger, than Zamasu over there, the current strongest." Zamasu tilts his head in acknowledgment. "Broly is the perfect person we need for this mission. Besides, don't you want to get off this planet?"

Paragus closes his eyes, obviously thinking on the matter. For a small moment, a smirk appears on his face. It quickly disappears as suddenly as it came. Paragus opens his eyes and nods. "Very well, we will assist. It'll be beyond wonderful to get off this damned planet."

Vegeta nods in satisfaction. A wicked smirk appears on his face as he levels his gaze toward the sky above. "Very well. It's time to break into a spaceship."

Chronoa sighs in satisfaction, having finished reading the last chapter. A wide grin is plastered on her face. "Oh, this is going to be good. I can feel it!"

She turns and waves, her smile brightening. "Hello all! Condolences from the author for the late update! He's been busy and his muse has been stubborn with helping him lately, so progress is slow going. Not only that, but this is his final month of college this year, so things are heating up for him. Expect one more chapter before may, if that, but he'll try."

Chronoa folds her hands over her lap and smiles a little more warmly. "We hope you enjoyed the start of this arc of the story, the first original arc holding major conflict! Big things are coming, and we hope you are all excited to see what comes next. Thanks for reading!"
