Moe began the recap. "Welcome back, thanks for joining us today. In the last episode, our heroes found themselves in the room in the temple for spawning in robotic units. Fighting Lord Raptor, Evil Ryu, Armor King, and a bevy of robots, one order was given: do not smash Waya-Hime. When she was the only one left, she attempted to self destruct, but was shut down before that happened. Now we join the third party in the deepest area of the pyramid."

"Thisss will be a little shorter than lassst time, brother."

"Then let's go!"

They started on the twenty-sixth chapter.

The chapter begins in the pyramid's deepest chamber. It is a sandy area with a magic circle shaped like the face of a clock and many stone structures related to time - like hourglasses and clocks - spread around the area.

{Phantom World... Underground Magic Circle}

Eight Dadattas surround the Magic Circle to guard it, and appearing to challenge them are Stahn and Rutee, Mitsurugi, Hiromi and Masuyo, Klonoa and Gantz, Kagekiyo and Tarosuke, Jin, Captain Commando, Volnutt and Roll, the Unknown Soldiers, Demitri, Morrigan, and Hideo and Kyoko.

Jin: "We're pretty far underground...and it looks like we've finally reached the bottom."

Unknown Warrior 1P: "Moody. I like it. Make a good date spot."

Unknown Warrior 2P: "Oh. Yeah. Be perfect if it wasn't for all the jackasses in armor."

Hiromi: "Hey, this isn't the time for joking around! Something isn't...right around here. It's full of some kind of energy I can't analyze..."

Masuyo: "Any biological effects?"

Tarosuke: "Oh, I wouldn't sweat that."

Demitri: "...I suppose those of you from the Material World aren't sensitive enough to notice, but what is filling this place is evil power."

Rutee: "...Yeah, LOTS of it. It's giving me goose bumps."

Stahn: "Yeah... I've got such a bad feeling, I'm having trouble standing up straight."

Kyoko: "I didn't follow that very well, but are we saying that something is wrong here?"

Hideo: "There certainly seems to be a monster of some kind here..."

Morrigan: "Oh, there certainly is. Not just anyone can make a magic circle this massive."

Kagekiyo: "...Indeed. This dreadful sorcery...must not be allowed to stand."

Mitsurugi: "Yeah, we better trash this crap, A.S.A.P."

Klonoa: "Yeah...but how DO we trash it? It's kinda big..."

Morrigan: "Oh, it's not that difficult. With this kind of magic circle, simply disrupting its shape should render it powerless."

Gantz: "Right, so all I gotta do is blow a hole in it with my bazooka?"

Roll: "Heck, MegaMan could do that too."

Volnutt: "Yep, and I've got Hyper Shells and my Drill Arm too. Of course, it'd be easier if Taizo was here..."

Captain: "Well then, shall we take out those monsters guarding the magic circle?"

?: "No... I'd really rather you not."

Volnutt: "Huh? Wh-who's there?!"

The person who has spoken reveals themselves to be Joka. Janga appears at his side, and surrounding him are a smidgen of Phantom Beasts - one Moo, one Giant Moo, one Glibz, and one Silver Armored Moo.

The final Moo who is part of this group is an advanced version of the Silver Armored Moo. It wears the same armor, but now golden parts have been welded to the front, top, arms, and feet.

Joka: "Everyone, it's been quite a while. I see you all are in good health."

Janga: "And therefore, pains in our asses."

Masuyo: "It's them...!"

Joka: "Goodness me. Every time we meet, you've added someone new."

Unknown Soldier 2P: "Damn, are these monsters friendly or what?"

Roll: "Maybe they're...actually friends or something...?"

Gantz: "That ain't even funny...! They're definitely the enemy! Janga, you ain't gettin' away this time!"

Janga: "God, don't you ever chill out...? Gantz, I'm getting sick of your little kid shit."

Volnutt: "Are those really...the enemy?"

Klonoa: "Yeah. They're called 'Phantom Beasts', and they're definitely the enemy. ...I wonder if they're still up to something."

Rutee: "Bet they are. Which's fine by me! This time you're gonna tell us exactly what you're doing here and what you're up to!"

Kyoko: "I don't think you'll get them to talk so easily."

Jin: "Then...we'll have to use force."

Joka: "Well, I'm hoping that the Soul Edge shows up here, you see."

Stahn: "Whoa, that was easy."

Mitsurugi: "The Soul Edge?! ...You bastards better not be lying! Where's your proof?"

Joka: "The Soul Edge, which wanders across dimensions, is prone to showing up in the presence of immense power. Regardless of world. ...Well, I think that will suffice as a hint. O ho ho ho ho..."

Morrigan: "I see... Sounds convincing, except for why you'd tell us something so important so easily."

Hideo: "I fail to understand, unless they are mocking us in some way."

Xiaomu: "That is just so obvious. And certainly isn't the way to my heart either..."

Captain Commando: "Heh, I actually think he's telling the truth. ...And thanks to that, we just lost our ability to destroy the circle."

Unknown Warrior 1P: "Pretending to joke while tying our hands with information alone... Not half bad."

Joka: "Oh ho ho. What an incredible honor to be praised by both brothers."

Tarosuke: "Look, they ain't brothers. When's this guy gonna get serious...?"

Demitri: "...Hmph. That's quite enough. Surely we can't stand around chatting until the Soul Edge arrives."

Janga: "Damn right we can't. You guys're history!"

Gantz: "Get real, Janga! After I'm done kicking your ass, I'm gonna use the Soul Edge to bisect you!"

Volnutt: "Whoa, take it easy!"

Joka: "Well, with that said, let's not keep the hot-blooded youth on either side leashed anymore."

Joka floats up to a nearby clock and stands atop it.

Joka: "I'll take the opportunity to sightsee a little until the dreaded evil sword arrives."

Kagekiyo: "Soul Edge... I too am interested in it. ...You shall not have it. To battle."

The conditions were nothing special for the moment for Moe.

"Time to smash some pathetic little idiots!"

Moe began by moving Volnutt and Roll, then sending Morrigan to attack a Dadatta, and having Hiromi and Masuyo blast another one. Jin smashed open a chest, revealing a Blue Potion, while Klonoa and Gantz opened fire upon a Dadatta before that Dadatta was gunned down by the Unknown Soldiers. Stahn and Rutee then attacked a Dadatta, before Demitri took down another Dadatta.

Tarosuke and Kagekiyo then smashed another chest, revealing...a yellow flag with an S beside it, Namco's iconic S Flag.

"The S Flag? What's that gonna do?"

"I presssume it will ressstore the health and ssskill pointsss of anyone who touches it, sssinccce picking it up in Sssmash getsss an exsstra life. Bessst to sssave it for later."

As heroes and enemies alike moved, one of the Dadattas attacked Stahn and Rutee, and the Silver Armored Moo attacked Volnutt and Roll, who retaliated and opened fire on it. Captain Commando used the skill Encourage to buff Klonoa and Gantz, while Masuyo and Hiromi blasted a Dadatta, who was then shot at by Klonoa and Gantz. The Giant Moo then attacked Volnutt and Roll, and another Dadatta attacked Stahn and Rutee, who retaliated and beat it up.

Another Dadatta then attacked Hideo and Kyoko, who retaliated and knocked out the Silver Armor Moo. The Dadattas then attacked Hiromi and Masuyo, Volnutt and Roll, and Klonoa and Gantz, before Mitsurugi buffed himself up and struck down a Dadatta. The Moo then attacked Hideo and Kyoko, before Jin buffed himself up and began attacking another Dadatta, while one of the Dadattas was gunned down by the Unknown Soldiers.

Demitri then beat up another Dadatta, and another Dadatta was attacked by Kagekiyo and Tarosuke. Hideo and Kyoko then knocked out another Dadatta.

To avenge the defeat of its comrade, the Golden Armored Muu then slapped Hideo and Kyoko.

"That's the thing with platforming game enemies; they only have so many ways to attack."

"And the Moosss don't ssseem to know how to adapt. Too bad for them."

Meanwhile, Morrigan took down another Dadatta.

Suddenly, the Magic Circle in the center begins to resonate, causing tremendous shaking.

Volnutt: "Wh-whoa! Wh-what the?!"

Roll: "I've got a really bad feeling about all this shaking...!"

Hiromi: "M-Masuyo! The energy readings around here just went through the roof!"

Masuyo: "Don't tell me it's actually coming?!"

It is. The Magic in the Circle builds up and the Soul Edge appears in the center.

Stahn: "I-it's here! It's the Soul Edge!"

Kyoko: "What a surprise...! And it's right in the center of the magic circle...!"

Mitsurugi: "..."

Tarosuke: "Huh? Hey, Mitsurugi, I've never seen you this calm before when the Soul Edge's on the scene."

Mitsurugi: "...We been through this before. Every time the damn thing shows up...some kinda trouble's close behind."

Kagekiyo: "...Yes. The sorcery it emits has not slackened."

Morrigan: "See what gifted students we have among us? I wonder what will happen this time? ...I'm almost eager to find out."

Joka: "That I can agree with."

And Joka isn't wrong. Following a rift, Yoshitune and Benkei appear with an Oni-Hime and two new minions. Both of them have green skin and beards, but that's where the similarities stop.

One of the two green skinned men has purple hair and a pair of small antlers. He wears purple pants with a green obi and has an orange sash around himself, as well as a white cloth over the pants and yellow ankle bands, and a necklace made up of orbs. His weapon is a drum, and he wields two sticks.

The other man has red hair and a single horn. He wears blue pants with a yellow obi and purple ankle bands, and a similar necklace, but smaller. He has a large sash flowing around his body.

Hideo: "What! A-ancient Japanese attire...!"

Yoshitsune: "Oho... So this is the other world. And more fortuitous an arrival than I expected."

Benkei: "Indeed... Hm?"

Kagekiyo: "It is you...!"

Benkei: "Lord Ushiwaka... You have done your work well it seems. Would you not agree, Kagekiyo...?!"

Yoshitsune: "...What?!"

Kagekiyo: "..."

Demitri: "Spirit-Worlders, is it? Confounded Soul Edge... How many worlds must it draw into this...?!"

Volnutt: "Th-these guys came from another world? Like us?!"

Roll: "Th-they're enemies, aren't they...?"

Kagekiyo: "You need not waver. And yes. They are my sworn foes: Demons returned to the Golden Pond from Hell."

Benkei: "Bold words for a badger from the same den."

Yoshitsune: "Ohohoho. Let him rant, Oniwaka. Matters have proceeded well thus far. ...Let us begin our work. That means YOU as well."

Unknown Soldier 1P: "Huh? Who's he talking to?"

Sadly, the person he's speaking to is Saya, who appears once more with her guards...but no extra forces this time.

Saya: "Hi~! Whenever you call, I'll be there in a flash! And so on. ...Well now, quite the crowd. Congratulations on coming this far."

Demitri: "Hmph, you again? First the Material-Worlders have you by whatever number of tails you have, now you deign to play with the Spirit Worlders?"

Saya: "Let us say...that it's a tough job, but someone has to do it. It seems everyone is interested in Dimensional Transfer these days."

Rutee: "Okay, look. How's about you give this 'bad girl' act a rest, huh?!"

Saya: "I'd appreciate you lodging your complaints with the giant, fleshy sword over there. It's been causing all sorts of grief, for both sides."

Kagekiyo: "Yoshitsune, you say that the Soul Edge will open the gates of the worlds at will?"

Jin: "You FOLLOWED the Soul Edge...?! As an experiment? I recall that you said that once before."

Mitsurugi: "So, following the Soul Edge is an experiment, huh? Greeeeat job, guys. I'm getting in on this whether you want it or not."

Gantz: "Yeah, nah, I don't buy what they're telling us. Anyway, ain't it easier to blow their asses to kingdom come an' grab the Soul Edge for yourself?"

Captain Commando: "I'd call that a good idea if everyone here hadn't thought of it already."

Janga: "Hee hee hee... Now THIS is my idea of fun."

Joka descends from the clock to the floor.

Joka: "Ohoho, right you are. Triangles can be pleasant, but it is customary to crush the weakest point first. So, lovely lady over there..."

Saya: "Hmm? You needed something, handsome boy?"

Joka: "May I enlist your assistance in squelching the small group over there? What will become of the Soul Edge can be decided later. What do you say?"

Yoshitsune: "I care not. The Soul Edge is ours, regardless."

Benkei: "...My aim is Kagekiyo alone. I shall worry about the rest later."

Saya: "Well, that was easy. However, I should point out, I don't really trust you. Heh heh."

Joker: "O ho ho ho ho, never expect a good woman to let down her guard. But, look into my eyes. ...Do these look like the eyes of a liar?"

Saya: "..."

Joka: "..."

Saya: "Ooh, now those are the eyes of a man who speaks the truth. ...I think I believe you."

Klonoa: "Hey, like, his expression never changes!"

Unknown Soldier 2P: "Great, it's comedy hour. Ah, hell with it, I kinda expected as much."

Unknown Soldier 1P: "Just look at this get-together we got here. I say we throw one helluva party."

Benkei: "Absurd. What can you do with so few?"

Yoshitsune: "O ho ho ho ho... Just stand there and watch as we obtain the Soul Edge."

Kagekiyo: "Yoshitsune, Benkei, you will not have that sword."

The Fuujin took his turn first by blowing wind at Demitri.

"Blowing wind? He really does seem like Lo-Lo, doesn't he?"

"Of courssse. He isss a god of wind, after all."

Then the Raijin took his turn and attacked Hideo and Kyoko, banging his drum to create lightning bolts.

"That reminds me of N. Gin's recent obsession with metal rock."

"I wonder what possessssed him to build a drumming robot like that?"

Captain Commando then helped Demitri with a buff before picking up the S Flag, healing him, increasing his special move gauge and skill points to max, and clearing any debuffs.

"Woah! Talk about the full package!"

"The Flag really isss a powerful tool, Moe..."

Meanwhile, the Oni-Hime attacked Demitri, and he responded by going after Dokugozu. Hideo and Kyoko then took down another Dadatta, while the Glibz blasted Demitri, and Benkei attacked Hideo and Kyoko. Volnutt and Roll then blasted Janga, while Klonoa and Gantz blasted the Glibz, and Mitsurugi went after Benkei.

Yoshitsune slashed Volnutt and Roll, Joka pummeled Demitri, and Janga attacked Volnutt and Roll. Klonoa and Gantz and Misuyo and Hiromi then used their Multiple Assault on the Fuujin, while Captain Commando went after Dokumezu, and Stahn and Rutee attacked the Oni-Hime. The Unknown Soldiers gunned down the final Dadatta, and the Giant Moo then smacked Hideo and Kyoko, who, after weakening Saya and Janga, attacked the Giant Moo and nearly took it down.

Demitri nearly defeated Dokugozu, while the Moo slapped Stahn and Rutee, and Volnutt and Roll continued to fire upon Janga. Morrigan then took down the Oni-Hime, and Jin pummeled the Raijin.

Then Joe decided to have Tarosuke and Kagekiyo and Mitsurugi use a Multiple Assault.

Mitsurugi: "I'll dice 'em all! Keep up, you two!"

Kagekiyo: "Do as you wish. I shall merely slice."

Tarosuke: "Hang on! Guys, wait up!"

With that, the three of them slashed and smashed and blasted Benkei, the Golden Armored Moo, and the Giant Moo, killing the Giant Moo.

"What swordsmanship! What power! What a blast!"

"If we copy thessse ssskillsss we've witnessssed, we could handle Crash with eassse!"

The villains then took several turns of their own - Joka continued to pummel Demitri, Benkei whacked Kagekiyo and Tarosuke, the Golden Armored Moo smacked Mitsurugi, the Fuujin blew at Hiromi and Masuyo, and the Raijin zapped Jin. Mitsurugi then ran up to the Raijin and slew him. The Glibz then shot Volnutt and Roll, and Saya sliced Klonoa and Gantz, who retaliated and took out the Glibz.

Morrigan: "...Huh...?"

Demitri: "Hm? What's wrong, Morrigan?"

Morrigan: "...This feeling... It seems she's here."

Indeed, Lilith appears on the side of the map.

Lilith: "..."

Mitsurugi: "The hell? Is that a little girl...?"

Morrigan: "That girl..."

Rutee: "Isn't she...that demon child who said she wanted to play, and then attacked us?!"

Stahn: "Yeah, no doubt about it. But...what's she doing here...?"

Morrigan: "Just look at all the magic at work here. Anyone could see us from worlds away. Besides, I'm here, and trying to get my hands on that evil sword."

Morrigan: "...Taking that girl out here is certainly no great hardship. However..."

Demitri: "...You wish to save her?"

Morrigan: "Save... Yes, I suppose that's all I intend. Me personally, that is."

Demitri: "...Hmph, then do so. See that you settle accounts by your own hand."

Morrigan: "Thank you, Demitri."

Captain Commando: "Hmm... Well, we can't just refuse a request from our teammate, can we?"

Kyoko: "I suppose not. Everyone, please refrain from attacking Lilith."

Tarosuke: "Ooookee-dokey, teach!"

Jin: "Sure, why not... I should be able to roll with these punches."

Saya: "Well, it sounds like that girl has business with our opponents."

Joker: "Quite the wildcard, but as they say, 'God smites not he who tempts Him not.'"

Yoshitsune: "...I know not who you are, but I shall leave you be. No mere girl is of account when the Soul Edge is in sight."

Lilith: "What were you talking about...? Are you...gonna be mean to me...?"

Morrigan: "You needn't worry. Just be yourself." (...The question is whether or not I can "accept" her or not, isn't it? Can I...? Am I capable...)

[CHAPTER 26. Lost Children of Desire]

Now the conditions changed: if Moe knocked down Lilith, he would lose.

"Not again. Twice in a row? This had better be important in the end."

"I'm sure it will be in the end, Moe. I think Morrigan wantsss to recruit her."

Lilith began by slicing at Mitsurugi. Dokugozu then attacked Demitri, but he retaliated and took him down and also used the skill Midnight Bless to absorb some of Saya's HP. Dokumezu then attacked Captain Commando and Janga attacked Mitsurugi. Hiromi and Masuyo then blasted the Golden Armor Moo, while Captain Commando beat up Saya, and Stahn and Rutee attacked Joka, who retaliated and punched them.

The Unknown Soldiers then gunned down the Golden Armored Moo, while Benkei was attacked by Mitsurugi, and Hideo and Kyoko took out the Moo. Saya attacked Demitri and Yoshitsune attacked Mitsurugi, and Volnutt and Roll took down Janga.

Janga: "They got me again?! ...This ain't funny no more, ya little shits!"

Gantz: "It's cause you're a sissy, Janga! An' now I'm gonna finish your sissy ass off!"

Janga: "Y'think it's gonna be that easy, you little punk!? Power...! I gotta get me some power...an' then you're gonna be road pizza! Believe that!"

Janga retreats.

Gantz: "Motherf-!"

Masuyo: "I swear, about all that cat's good at is throw-away lines."

Hiromi: "Yeah, and running off! Gantz, aren't you gonna follow it?"

Gantz: "...Grr, nah, I ain't gonna. Much as I hate to say it, he and I are on the same path. As long as I'm mixed up in this shit, I'm gonna see him whether I want to or not."

Klonoa: "Gantz, you've kinda changed lately. Kinda...grown up, like."

Gantz: "...The irony is that a little kid is telling me this."

Morrigan then weakened Saya, Dokumezu, and Yoshitsune before taking Dokumezu down.

Just then, Black Valkyrie appears to the north.

Black Valkyrie: "Damn, I was too late... You pack of fools...!"

Captain Commando: "Hmm? Who's that?! Not another enemy?"

Unknown Soldier 2P: "Hey, it's Valkyrie. Finally we get reinforcements. Is it just you?"

Black Valkyrie: "..."

Unknown Soldier 1P: "Hold it, partner. I know the light's bad around here, but uh...I don't think Val wore clothes that dark, do you?"

Roll: (Well, that's what they get for wearing their sunglasses in lighting like this...)

Volnutt: "It's gotta be someone else. Who is she?"

Masuyo: "Unfortunately, an enemy. The black something-or-other Knight... I forget what she called herself."

Morrigan: "The 'Dark, Fallen Warrior'... Val's fated rival, I suppose."

The image of Joylant appears again.

Hiromi: "Oh, I remember her. We fought her back at that amusement park."

Volnutt: "What's someone like that doing here!?"

Demitri: "Hmph. Is it not obvious? The Soul Edge."

Black Valkyrie: "It is indeed, man of the Maximoff clan. That sword shall be mine."

Saya: "Now tell me, is that sword popular, or what? Mind you, only the last person standing gets it."

Mitsurugi: "What, you thought you'd pick your opening an' just waltz over by yourself an' snag it? Notta chance, woman! Not while we're around!"

Black Valkyrie: "Heh heh heh... My turn. Allow me to gauge your valor."

Hideo: "So she did bring some allies after all."

Kyoko: "Perhaps the two we fought before...?"

It's neither Rose nor Armor King, however. The person who appears near Valkyrie is a young man with black hair. He wears a black shirt and pants with crosses on the front, sleeves, and legs as well as a black cape with appropriate pauldrons. He also wears a silver belt. But the most interesting thing is the man wears the skull of a dragon over his face with a pair of ribbons attached to it. He wields two swords, one in each hand.

Skull Helmet Man: "Finally, you call me. I grow impatient, O Dark, Fallen Warrior."

Stahn: "T-that's...?"

Rutee: "A warrior dressed in jet black...? Huh? ...Haven't I...seen him somewhere...?"

Stahn: "I'm getting a really dangerous vibe from him... Who are you?!"

Skull Helmet Man: "I... I..."

Black Valkyrie: "..."

Judas: "I am Judas. I have returned from Hell to claim your lives."

Lilith then attacked Kagekiyo and Tarosuke, Joka pummeled Stahn and Rutee, and Benkei pummeled Mitsurugi. Stahn and Rutee then attacked Judas.

Demitri then tried to attack Joka, but he enacted his dodge ability to teleport out of the way.

"He was even laughing at us, there! What a joke!"

"Ever the trickssster, isssn't he?"

Mitsurugi kept up the attack on Benkei, stunning him, while Saya attacked Captain Commando and Yoshitsune attacked Tarosuke and Kagekiyo.

Judas then attacked Stahn and Rutee, using his swords to great effect.

"What kind of fighter is he? That looked brutal for an attack!"

"It ssseemssss as if hisss ssswordsss are enchanted with dark magic..."

The Fuujin then attacked the Unknown Soldiers, who retaliated and gunned him down, while Klonoa and Gantz opened fire upon Joka, who responded by punching Demitri, and Jin then pummeled Judas.

Suddenly, the room begins to shake.

One of the buildings on the border crumbles, and Mirabella's shop rises from where it was.

Saya attacked Captain Commando, who retaliated and beat her up, while Black Valkyrie attacked Mirabella, and Yoshitsune attacked Kagekiyo and Tarosuke, who retaliated and took him down.

Yoshitsune: "How can this be...? With the Soul Edge before my eyes, no less...! Such frustration...!"

Kagekiyo: "It is I who shall grasp that sword. You shall not interfere."

As the fight resumed, Mirabella buffed her allies up before attacking Black Valkyrie, while Saya continued her battle with Captain Commando, and Black Valkyrie chopped at Stahn and Rutee, before Morrigan took Saya down.
