Chapter 31: The Duel of the Chainsaws

In Seed's dream, he was actually a spirit form wearing the same royal outfit he had worn in the Highland Kingdom. He wonders why he still wearing his royal clothes until a spirit appears before him.

"You finally changed for the better, Seed."

The spirit is actually Culgan much to his surprise and this is due to both of them being perished at the hands of Riou and the Allied Army.

"How would you say that I was changed!? I ended up living in the future where both of us are cease to exist!" Seed reacted angrily which he giggles.

"I know that the both of us were killed and letting our beloved country in Highland has fallen at their hands. It seems that we were wrong about our loyalties with fellow Highlanders like us."

"What do you mean?" Seed said wanting to know from Culgan about the other Highlanders which he reveals it.

"We maybe died from Lord Riou's hands, but our spirit lives on in the sky. The remaining Highlanders who were aristocrats are sided with the Harmonians who wanted to take most of the land which was originally owned by Maroux Blight, the first king of Highland. We maybe loyal to our beloved country and we realizes our current mistakes, The respective provinces within Dunan had wanted to change our home country for the better to incorporate with them."

"Don't tell me that it's about the Higheast Rebellion, right?" Seed wondered which Culgan confirms.

"Yes... Some remnants of Lord Riou's allies are the ones who made Harmonia to withdrew their forces to end their rebellion. That's why our beloved country had been changed since."

"But for some reason, Culgan. Why are you telling me this now?" Seed said wanting to know more from Culgan which calmly tells him.

"I want our beloved country to make a better place. I don't want to meet the same fate as what we did before. We rid ourselves of Luca's tyranny for the sake of Lord Jowy who will make a better future for all of us. Lord Riou is truly the hope for the Dunan Army and this is proof that our beloved country will be look after by the Dunan Republic."

"You're right, Culgan... Our country is changed and we didn't see how it looks like when our former enemy had already taking over our entire land. I finally learned when I got there in the future being summoned by the old guy who actually a descendant version of you." Seed said and he gives Culgan a cheeky smile.

"I guess I was lucky then..."

The dream flashes back into reality where Seed finally awakens from his sleep on Lene's bed and seeing that it was a dream as he lay down on bed in a deep thought while being covered in a bed sheet.

It's a magnificent night between me and Lene. It was magical for the both of us. I've never seen her digging her nails on my back when I actually thrusted on her many times. It was a full throttle of me to make her feel burned out.

Seed noticed Lene was no longer at her room and seeing she was out to meet up with Tougou and Clemont and he goes off to get dressed back to his sleepwear. When he arrives, he saw both Sean and Geddoe and Lene was there in a long white robe.

"I'm glad that you're up, Seed." Lene smiled nicely to him and Seed grins on Sean.

"Hey mockingbird, you look so down?"

"It was Cara, she was taken by Leather Face. I wanted to save her but he would break my weapon with his chainsaw." Sean grunted as Geddoe warns Seed about Leather Face.

"Frank had already warn us about Leather Face last night. Their chainsaws are able to break the sword's blade. Looks like he wanted to fight him."

Therefore, someone heard a scream as they get through and to see that it was infiltrated with zombies which is actually summoned by Rambert who finally takes Lauren hostage.

"Lady Lauren..."

"Seems like I had a last laugh, Inspector... You may destroy Sly and for ruining my night party. I always got my retaliation over you humans."

Seed angrily wanted to use his Rage Rune to cast magic but Geddoe stops him.

"If you use your Rune then the whole town will be burned completely."

"Damn it..."

Lene noticed someone is behind her as she dodges when Leather Face tries to strike her with his chainsaw. Without warning, Rambert immediately punches her to the groin to knocked her unconscious.

"Lene!"

"I'm gonna take these two ladies with me. This time they're going to be my brides, hahahaha..."

Suddenly her Divine Dagger Rune manages to repel all of the zombie forces while she was unconscious, allowing Seed and the group to escape.

"That's the power of the incarnation of the Rune of the Beginning. We need to get out here and fast." Geddoe said as he escorted, Tougou, Clemont and Drogo.

"Lene, NO!" Seed said wanting to save her from the vampire as Sean drags him immediately.

"We'll save her for later, red head! We need to get out of here quick!"

At the Genova Castle, Doug's Titanus Rune is acting up because of the threats cause by Rambert and his zombie army as the spirit of his ancestor Sarah arrives to see him.

"It seems that your power is increasing because of the threat caused by the vampire."

"His powers are similar to Neclord. I felt it from my Rune. Seems like my niece is able to repel these kinds of deadly creatures." Doug said and Sarah tells him about her premonitions.

"There's nothing to worry, that man's threat won't last longer."

At Crom Village, Seed remains angry and disdain after letting them kidnapped Lene at the hands of Rambert as Sean tries to calm him down.

"Calm down, red head. We're gonna save both Lene and Cara from those bloodsuckers."

"How would I calm down, mockingbird!? That bloodsucker took her away from me! I'm sick of it! I'm totally sick of it!" Seed angrily lashes at Sean for what happened earlier and became angered even more. "I'm sick of that bloodsucker's horrible plans and I'm sick of being dragged out in the fight when I had a chance to battle that bloodsucker!"

"You can't fight those zombies if that bloodsucker can revive them. We have to think of a plan to stop him, red head." Sean said while he continued to calm down as Frank arrives along with Evan.

"These zombies can be revived by Rambert's power. I'm able to seal him so that he can't escape."

"Jesse must be with the rest of the girls and that includes the princess and the other investigator." Frank said and noticing of their plans. "They capture the mayor of Tinto because she is also like the rest of the women he wanted to made them as his brides."

"I guess that she's gonna help you two save the princess."

The woman appears to see them is none other than Sierra Mikain which surprises both of them.

"I remember you, you're the red headed guy who fights in the Highland Army. I didn't know you were here..." Sierra recognizes Seed who represents the enemy in the past.

"How would you know it was me?" I'm not in a good mood right now."

"That guy you faced... Rambert is the descendant of Rean Penenberg. Sierra explains to them about Rambert. "Everyone in Tinto knows that he is once a human who researched about vampire bats who bit him. But in reality, he is the direct descendant of Rean, he captures any human around this town to make them as his slaves as for the women would be his brides just like how Neclord did to the other female victims."

"So the guy was actually a descendant of another bloodsucker. This is the modern world not in ancient history." Sean said reacted over Sierra's words and Seed looked on his Flowing Rune which is connected within the Divine Dagger Rune.

"I guess my Flowing Rune lighted up... I have to save Lene by that no good bloodsucker."

"I would aid the both of you..." Drogo arrives as both Clemont and Tougou are here to see them.

"Please, you must save the people in Tinto as well as the princess. She is in danger after she was abducted."

"Don't worry, Tougou... I always keep my word." Seed said became more determine to save Lene.

Outside of Tinto Mines, Seed, Sean, Sierra, Drogo, Evan and Frank arrive to get through Tinto City. Sean pulls out a ball that resembles a fire ball scroll.

"Luckily that we're back on our main clothes again." Seed smirked after staying at Crom Village.

"Let's just say that those zombies might be inside. And I know you and Drogo would pull off your magic spells on both of your Runes." Sean said as he throws the ball and it explodes to break the boulder when the song "Second Coming" has been played.

They rushed to find the right way to get through the Tinto Mines as more zombies came out of the ground. Drogo tries to use the Wind Rune by casting The Shredding. However, it passes into Seed due to his Rune Combination ability as he raises his sword while the air curtains of the room is filling up with a powerful gust of wind as it glowing in blue and he slams it with a devastating wind using Aerial Cyclone knocking off the ground as Sean throws most of the bombs to destroy them completely.

"No kidding, this is combination number six." Seed wondered on his sword only for Sean to drag him out.

Therefore, they were confronted by Leather Face who wields a chainsaw to block their path.

"So you noobs... you can't pass if you want to beat me fair and square."

Without Warning, Frank attacks Leather Face with his chainsaw as both clashed with their weapons.

"You guys go and find the girls, I'm gonna settle the score against Leather Face. He's responsible for framing me for his crime."

The group proceeds and Frank decided to battle Leather Face as both duel each other with their chainsaws. Frank unloads most of his skills after getting framed. He then threw a grenade which he dodges and unleashes his ability to spin his chainsaw multiple times while blocking his move.

"You're faster than I thought."

"Same goes to you."

Both Frank and Leather Face now clashing each other once again and Frank overpowers him with his chainsaw by knocking his chainsaw on his hand as he charges himself and throws him up and unleashing a multiple slashes of his chainsaw, decapitating him in the process.

"Tell me why did you work with that bloodsucker. What does he want?"

"Ughhh... That vampire... he has full of ambitions. He... wanted to take over the entire town... and..." Leather Face who is in his last breath.

"Tell me about it, Leather Face."

"That vampire wants to capture everyone to make them as his slaves... he gave me his darker power so that I'll work for him as his right-hand man...to do his bidding... Now go on and rescue your talk trash bitch..."

Leather Face dies as he was turned into a pile of ashes. Frank knew he sold his soul to work for the vampire and decided to join up with Seed and his group. Upon reaching through the mines, they were blocked by zombies and other creatures but was destroyed by using a unification magic between fire and lightning and Cassandre appears to see them.

"These creatures are just trying to ruin my stay in this cave."

"Thanks for helping us, old lady. We have to save all the women from that bloodsucker." Seed said thankful to Cassandre as Evan reveals who she is.

"Cassandre is the most powerful sorceress in the land and she is the successor to the previous wizards who utilizes sorceress magic and catalysts."

"So the princess is indeed in danger. Well I guess I love to join on your side. I'd like to test my powerful sorcery."

As Cassandre decided to join them on the cause and they proceed to get through the mines. Arriving at the city, it was infested with zombies. Drogo unleashes his True Fire Rune by casting Blazing Wall to disperse the zombies without taking further damage on the entire city. Seed amuses on Drogo's casting.

"I didn't know you can use a powerful Fire Wall?"

"We can proceed to rescue the women from this city. If the zombies are still lurking either to slay with a weapon or burning them with your Rune. The princess and Lady Lauren might be there as well."

"We'd better move then..."

Lene soon wakes up and to see live women are also being held captive and Lauren was with her as well.

"Your highness, are you okay?"

"Yeah... I couldn't fought that vampire without my double-sided tonfas. He was strong..."

"That Rambert has to pay..." Lauren said getting angry over the vampire only someone spoke to both of them.

"You two bonkers are also against that bloodsucker. I'll never forgive him for taking me out."

The two noticed that the other girl is none other than Jessica Grimes and it was Frank's missing partner.

"You must be Frank's missing partner. How did you get here with us?" Lauren questions Jessica about why she was here and she acts sardonic to both of them.

"As you can see, it was that no good bloodsucker who captured me when I was hiding at Crom Village. Then again, he continued to capture most of the girls here. Until you three came here to serve his blood dinner."

Both noticed Cara was with them too and she is able to get free by using a pocket knife and decided to save them.

"That vampire has to stop... Inspector Rockwell is doing his best to rescue all of them from his bloody tyranny."

"Without my weapon, I can't blow the door down with explosive tasers." Lene said and looking at herself in a white long robe. "But unfortunately, do you have spare clothes so that I can get dressed?"

"Hmmm... I think I have a plan. These girls might have spare clothes so that we can pose as them." Lauren said knowing about their plans of escaping.

"I'll pass if I gonna wear something like this... I really hate skirts." Jessica reacted impulsively and Cara has a point since the mayor is more strategic to find a way to escape.

"Lene, I think we should force her to dress like a real lady since she acts more like a man than we do."

"I just hoped Seed and the others are here... That Rambert has to be stopped." Lene said worriedly and hoping Seed and the group are here to rescue them.
