A/N: Staying on track with 2,000 word chapters was way harder than I thought it would be, I did have to break my word a few times, but i think i made up for it when some chapters were 3,000 words or more.

I woke up and stretched as far as my arms and legs would go. Last night was the first time since he came back that Emmett and I had sex. I wanted to do it more often, but he said I needed to rest because he knew how sore I was when I tried walking and could barely move. Granted we made love all night and went through a whole box of condoms, I wouldn't have traded it for anything else. I knew just about every dark secret about him and I was glad that he wasn't trying to hide anymore. We would have stayed in the shack a couple more days, but Alice dragged us out because she was throwing a big New, New Year's party

She insisted to throw a party since they weren't here for the real New Year's Eve. Everyone was so excited to do something fun, I know we could all use it after the last month.

All of Bella's friends were invited and if I wanted, I could have invited some teammates of mine, but they wouldn't be my teammates for long. I knew I wasn't going to be happy tonight since Jessica and Lauren made it their life's work to torture me and one way was to flirt endlessly with Emmett. It was annoying at times because I never could get a word in when they were around.

But Emmett promised me that tonight would be different, and I believed him. After the last week and what we shared, he was different. He seemed happier and more attentive to what I wanted. Of course, some of it might have to do with the fact that he felt guilty about leaving me and getting hurt by Laurent. Which he wouldn't have known about if he didn't see the bruises on my neck the next morning.

"What are you thinking about?" Warm hands slid around me from under the covers.

"You and the last couple days." I scooted back against him and one hand rubbed my hip. I could feel his erection pressing into me and I let out a moan.

"You smell amazing." He whispered before I was tossed on my back. I laughed as he settled between my legs.

"Listen I would love to do this with you, but guest are supposed to be arriving soon, and I need a shower." He kissed my neck and my shoulder bone before lightly biting my earlobe.

"You don't play fair Mr. McCarthy." I kissed him as he shrugged his shoulders. He threaded his fingers through mine as he laid them beside my head. The ring he got me dug into the pillow. He flipped my hand so he could look at it again, he tended to look at it a lot.

"I can't believe how beautiful you look with this."

"It's just a promise ring Emmett. A promise to always be there for me no matter what happens."

"I know but it also lets all those guys at school know that your taken." I laughed as he rolled us over, so I was straddling his hips. I looked down at him and smiled. "I'm so glad your mine." He pulled me down by his neck to give me a long searing kiss.

"OK now let's go shower. I need many hours to get ready, Alice said full effect today."

He laughed at me as he threw me over his shoulder and headed for the shower. I loved when he showered with me, granted this was just the third time, but I wouldn't have it any other way. He took such tender care or me and even though it all became sexual, Emmett never tried to take me in there.

He placed me on the matt in front of the shower and turned it on high. I turned it down and laughed before raising an eyebrow at me. I think he forgets that even though he liked the water burning hot, I did not.

I began undressing as he grabbed both our robes and 2 spare towels. He placed them over the side of the tub and then undressed himself. I loved staring at him, he was all muscle and even though he could tear me in 2 with his bare hands, I also knew how gentle they could be.

He climbed in the shower after me and we let the hot water run over our bodies before we each grabbed our bodywash and began to wash up. I stared into his eyes and watched as they turned from a bright blue to a dark blue and then finally settled on blue gold. I wondered if he was hungry since his eyes never showed gold when we were together.

"Your eyes are gold." I wanted to know if he would be honest with me.

"I was hoping you never would have to see them. I haven't satisfied my other half in a while and my body is starting to feel it."

"So, will you disappear tonight in search of some yummy animal for dinner?" I scrunched up my nose like a bunny. He thought that was funny and laughed.

"I will probably take one of the spare blood bags Carlisle keeps here. He keeps both animal and human blood here just in case of emergencies." That was useful information.

"When will you eat? I kind of like the way your eyes look, so exotic and sexy." He pulled me closer by the hips so we could wash the soap off. I let the water fan over me from head to toe before grabbing the shampoo and thoroughly washing my long tresses.

"I can hold off for another day or too but no more than that because it can become dangerous and I don't want to hurt you. I won't be able to see you for a couple hours though. A fresh feeding means my darker side comes out to play and I don't want you around that." I pulled away from him long enough to look into his eyes.

"I have to see it eventually. You can't hide things like that from me, I need to be around even your worst you. Maybe you're not ready for me to experience it yet, but one day you will have to show me."

"I don't want to fight. If you want to have a death wish, ask Alice. She's probably the only one I would trust you around like that. Besides Esme or Carlisle but since they don't get a dark side when they feed then your next bet would be Alice." I could tell he was upset so I didn't push it.

"I'm sorry. Can we forget I ever opened my mouth?" He pulled me close for a long searing kiss and I knew he was over it, for now.

*Next Day*

I woke up feeling disoriented.

I didn't remember what happened after we got out the shower. I can vaguely remember getting ready and then heading downstairs. I can still taste the champagne on my tongue that Alice had given me once Bella's friends showed up.

I groaned and rolled over searching for Emmett but found his side of the bed cold. I got up and wasn't surprised to find myself naked. It was fake New Year's after all and I am sure we had a blast; I just wish I could remember it.

I wrapped the sheet around me before heading into the closet and tossing on a pair of navy-blue cotton panties with the matching bra before slipping into one of his black t-shirts. The house was already used to seeing me in his clothes, he made it a habit of hiding my clothes so I could only wear his stuff. I put my hair up in a messy bun and made sure I didn't have raccoon eyes. Then I brushed my teeth and applied some moisturizer to my face since it seemed rather dry this morning. I tossed on some black cotton shorts as well before I went in search of him.

As my feet hit the icy cold hallway floor, I turned right back around and slipped my feet into the grey slipper boots I got myself. They were very comfortable since they were slippers but had a hard bottom so I could walk around in them like shoes. After my feet were toasty, I headed back downstairs and didn't pay any attention to the voices coming from the kitchen s I raced in there.

I froze in my spot as 10 sets of eyes stared at me. I started tugging down my shirt knowing it stopped at my thighs. I walked over to where Esme was at the stove as everyone resumed talking. She handed me a plate with a breakfast burrito on it and I kissed her on the cheek. When I turned to find a place to sit, my appetite was forgotten once I saw Jessica, Lauren, and Molly huddled around Emmett and he was soaking it all up.

Bella and Alice looked at me with a sad and nervous expression before Bella patted the spot next to her. I started eating my food and was grateful when Mike didn't come near me. I think Jasper was doing me the favor of keeping him away since not only was he holding a conversation with him, but he kept him across the kitchen with the man eaters.

"Don't pay too much attention to them. He had to eat early this morning and he tends to get a little crazy after." Alice whispered in my ear and I nodded.

"I know we almost fought about it. I didn't want him to hide it from me and he didn't want me anywhere near it. I guess this is the middle portion he is ok with me seeing." I looked over my left shoulder toward the kitchen table and saw Emmett looking back at me. His eyes were a dark blue and I knew he was aroused.

"You two need to get a room." Alice whispered so Bella couldn't here. "After we feed, we tend to have a lot of built-up tension. We usually release it with sex because it's the safest way and it's the quickest way to calm the beast. Before you guys started doing the deed, he would fight with Edward to get it out. Its an experience you will not want to miss." She chuckled and when Bella asked her why she was laughing, she just waved her off.

When I looked back over to the table, Emmett was gone, and the girls were staring at me. Lauren had a smirk on her face as if she knew some secret I didn't. I got up to put my empty plate in the sink and felt strong hands wrap around my waist. I relaxed into those arms and was glad he was picking me over them.

"Mike Newton wants to bend you over the kitchen counter and take you from behind." I shivered at the horrifying thought.

"And how would you know Mr. McCarthy?" I turned in his arms and wrapped his hands around his shoulders, one hand playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.

"Because it's what I want to do…and Edward can read his mind and he's playing the video on a loop. Do you know how much I want to beat the snot out of him?"

"We can discuss the whole mind thing later. But now you know how I feel about you being all friendly with the triplets." I crossed my arms over my chest, and he smiled.

"Your adorable when you're jealous. But not as scary as I am about to be if you don't get your cute little butt upstairs and change into more appropriate clothing." He kissed my nose like a child.

"And what if I didn't want to?"

"Then you will get a taste of the beast you wanted to play with last night." I shivered again but this time with excitement and when he raised an eyebrow with a good sniff of his nose, I knew he knew it. "You would like that wouldn't you?"

"Maybe. Don't treat me like a child and I wouldn't have to poke the bear."

"Baby if anyone is going to poke something it will be me." We heard gagging noses from behind Emmett and I laughed at the sour looks on his siblings faces. He turned back to look at me and tried to give me a stern look. "Now go get dressed."

I got out of his grasp and went to the door; he may think he won but he didn't know anything.

"And if I don't want to, maybe I want to do just the opposite." I started raising my shirt, but it didn't get past my belly button as he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. I started laughing as Alice yelled

He tossed me down on the bed and ripped his shirt from my body.
