Chapter 6- Rematch at Duelist Kingdom: Part II
Previously on The Queen of the Games, As the gang was on their way to see Pegasus, KaibaCorp stock was being stolen by 'Pegasus'. Determined to get to the bottom of the truth, Kaiba and Mokuba head for Duelist Kingdom as Kaiba was challenged to a rematch. As they got there, the rematch was well underway, but as Kaiba began to suspect something was wrong, it turns out that 'Pegasus was none other than Alister in disguise. Now with the Seal of Orichalcos on the field, can Kaiba beat Alister and escape, or will history repeat itself? Let's find out.
"With the Seal on the field, your fate is sealed. Nothing can get in or out" Alister said as a mini Seal appeared on his forehead.
"Just what do you hope to accomplish form this?" Kaiba asked.
"I'm here to represent everyone who's been hurt by your stepfather, Gozaburo" Alister answered.
"And you think lumping me in with that snake is going to help? You have no idea who you're dealing with" Kaiba said with a glare.
"I know who I'm dealing with. A heartless tyrant like Gozaburo. Now on with the duel" Alister said as he drew a card. "I play Gorlag in attack mode" Alister said as a red winged monster with a mane made of fire and a sword made of fire appeared on the field. (1000/1000)
"It also gets a 500 point boost from the Seal, plus it gets 500 more points for every fire monster, including itself" Alister added as a mini seal appeared on his monster's forehead as it roared in a fiery aura.
(Gorlag: 1000-2000)
"Attack Versago with Fire Sword Slash!" Alister commanded as his monster charged toward Kaiba's and destroyed it, then Versago appeared on Alister's side of the field. "And when Gorlag destroys a monster, it returns a creature of fire and gives Gorlag 500 more points" Alister added. "Next, I place one card facedown and end my turn" Alister finished as a facedown card appeared.
(Versago: 1100-1600)
(Gorlag: 2000-2500)
"This nut job has more skills than I thought, but I'm better" Kaiba thought as he looked at his hand to see Pitch Dark Dragon, Crush Card Virus, and Blue Eyes White Dragon. "As soon as Alister attacks next turn, I'll unleashed my Virus combo and infect every monster in his deck with over 1500 points" Kaiba thought as he drew a card. "I'll place one card face down and I'll summon Pitch Dark Dragon in defense mode" Kaiba said as a large, grey dragon appeared with a growl, followed by a facedown card. (Def: 600)
"Would that facedown card be your Crush Card?" Alister asked as Kaiba glared at him. "I know every card and every move in your dueling career" Alister added.
"And you think that gives you a chance of winning?" Kaiba asked as Alister drew a card.
"Let's find out. I reveal my facedown card, Royal Decree. As long as it's on the field, you can't play any trap cards. Now, Gorlag attack his Pitch Dark Dragon!" Alister commanded as his monster charged toward Kaiba's dragon, destroying it. "Your turn, Versago attack his life points!" Alister said as Versago charged toward Kaiba and slashed his former master across the chest.
(Kaiba: 400)
"Now, Pitch Dark Dragon return!" Alister said as the dragon appeared on his side of the field.
(Pitch Dark Dragon: 900-1400)
"And Gorlag gets 500 more points" Alister said.
(Gorlag: 2500-3000)
"This is bad. If Seto doesn't think of a way to beat Alister, he'll lose. But how can he beat a monster that can turn every card in his deck against him?" Mokuba thought as his brother drew a card and what he drew made him smirk. "It's time for me to turn this duel around with Card of Demise. This lets me draw till I'm holding 5 new cards, and once 5 turns have passed, my hand goes to the graveyard. But I won't have to wait that long" Kaiba said as he drew 5 cards. "Next, I play White Dragon Ritual. All I have to do is discard a powerful monster and you're done and I choose my Blue Eyes White Dragon" Kaiba said as he discarded his said card to the graveyard. "Now I can play Paladin of White Dragon" Kaiba announced as the white dragon with it's rider appeared with a roar. (Attk: 1900)
"Now I play Monster Reborn to bring my Blue Eyes back from the graveyard" Kaiba said as the legendary dragon reappeared with a roar. (Attk: 3000) "Paladin, attack Pitch Dark Dragon with Ionic Spear Burst!" Kaiba commanded as his dragon riding warrior flew towards Alister's monster and destroyed it with it's sword.
(Alister: 1700)
"And with one less fire monster, your Gorlag loses 500 points" Kaiba added.
(Gorlag: 3000-2500)
"Making it easy prey for my Blue Eyes. White Lightning Attack!" Kaiba commanded as his dragon fired a beam of electricity at Gorlag, destroying it along with Versago.
(Alister: 1200)
"Next, I activate my Paladin's special ability, I can trade him in for another Blue Eyes" Kaiba said as his monster vanished and was replaced by his second legendary dragon. (Attk: 3000) "Due to my monster's effect, my dragon can't attack until next turn, but the fun is almost here. Can you top that, Alister?" Kaiba asked as his opponent drew a card.
"I have this: Pot of Greed. This lets me draw 2 cards" Alister said as he drew 2 cards. "Next, I'll place one card facedown and then I'll play these 2 cards. First, Aetonix's Flame lets me destroy all non fire monsters on the field" Alister said as a wall of fire destroyed Kaiba's dragons. "Then it lets me bring back Gorlag to the field in attack mode" Alister added as his monster reappeared on the field. (Attk: 1000) "Next comes Fire Whip and I'll equip to Gorlag" Alister said as his monster's fire sword was replaced by a whip made of fire and Gorlag swung it around, causing Kaiba to shield himself. Then his 2 Blue Eyes appeared on Alister's side of the field.
"Those are my dragons, you cowardly punk!" Kaiba yelled.
"Not anymore, they've been revived as creatures of fire and thanks to the Seal, they get a 500 point boost" Alister said as the Seal appeared on both dragons.
(Blue Eyes White Dragon: 3000-3500 x2)
"And thanks to the seal and Gorlag's effect, he gets a 2000 point boost" Alister said as his monster glowed in a fiery aura.
(Gorlag: 1000-3000)
Back at the limo
The gang had left San Francisco, and was driving through the desert. Daisuke and Jun were shuffling their decks, while Joey was going through his own. "Yugi, you may want to shuffle your deck. No telling when we might run into those biker thugs, and we don't want to get caught by surprise if we draw the wrong cards" Daisuke said as she did one last shuffle on her deck.
"What do you think we'll find when we get to Pegasus?" Catherine asked.
"Hopefully, some answers. I just hope we're not too late" Yugi said.
"Yugi, I know you're concerned for Pegasus, but we need to stay focused" Yami said.
"You know, there is one thing we've been missing: Where's Mai?" Joey asked.
"Yeah, it is strange. You heard from her since Battle City, Sis?" Jun asked.
"I don't know. I tried to call her but she hasn't answered her phone" Daisuke answered.
"Where do you think she is?" Matt asked.
"Hopefully she's somewhere safe" Tea answered.
"We can only hope" Joey said as he looked out the window.
Back at the duel
"You're faced with 3 monsters with an attack total of 10,000 points, and you only have 400 life points. It's your last move, so make it count" Alister said.
"I need a card that can win this duel, but I need to draw it now" Kaiba thought as he was about to draw, when his deck began to glow.
Back in the limo
Yugi took out Timaeus to see that it was glowing as well.
"Timaeus is glowing" Yugi said.
"But why?" Yami asked as everyone looked at the glowing card.
Back at the duel
The glow died down as Kaiba drew his card and saw it was a card he had never seen before.
"I never had a card like this, but what could it mean? Either way, this is my last chance" Kaiba thought. "I play Fang of Critias" Kaiba announced.
"But that's not one your cards" Alister said with a hint of fear for the first time in the duel.
"It is now" Kaiba said as a black and grey dragon with fangs on the side of it's mouth and it's tail resembling a pitchfork appeared with a roar. "Next, I'll combine my dragon with my Crush Card" Kaiba said as his facedown card flipped up and soon the 2 cards swirled around each other.
"You can't just fuse a monster with a trap card" Alister objected.
"I just did. Now meet Doom Virus Dragon" Kaiba announced as a light purple dragon appeared with a roar. (Attk: 1900)
"Big deal. It's too weak" Alister scoffed.
"Then it's special ability makes up for that. It can destroy every monster on your side of the field whose attack are 1500 or more" Kaiba said as vines appeared from behind the dragon and wrapped around Alister's monsters, crushing them.
"And with no monsters to protect, Doom Virus Dragon attack Alister's life points directly!" Kaiba commanded as his dragon blew a breath of smog at Alister.
"I win" Kaiba said.
"Not quite. I activate my facedown card, Contagion of Madness. I lose 1900 points thanks to your dragon, but you lose 950 which is half of your dragon's attack points" Alister said as Kaiba's dragon's attack hit the card causing it to glow blue, which consumed the dragon.
(Kaiba: 0)
(Alister: 0)
"It's a draw" Kaiba said as the Seal began to glow and soon Kaiba was pushed back as the Seal vanished and the arena returned.
"Where's Alister?" Mokuba asked as Kaiba got up to see that Alister was gone.
"I'll be back, Kaiba and you're gonna pay for what your father did to me" Alister's voice rang out.
"What did he mean by that" Mokuba asked.
"I don't know but we'll find out soon enough" Kaiba said.
Meanwhile
The gang finally made it to Industrial Illusions and got out as they were getting their stuff and went inside only to find it empty.
"Where's Pegasus?" Tai asked.
"Something's not right" TK said.
"You don't think.." Daisuke began.
"I'm afraid so" Yugi as they walked further inside only for the security gates to come down and block them from the exit.
"What the?" Matt asked.
"What just happened?" Rosa asked.
"We're locked in" Tristan said as he tried to pull on the bars when everyone turned to see someone step out from behind a pillar.
"Mai, what are you doing here?" Joey asked as Daisuke noticed something was wrong and saw that Mai was wearing the same duel disk Grimo was wearing the other night.
"Joey, I think we may have a problem" Daisuke said as she pointed at the duel disk that Mai was carrying which caused Joey to step back in fear.
