Chapter:29 A Small Flame of Hope

It then showed Yang riding her bike through the forest of Anima with tbe mook riding behind her.

"How much further, pal?" Yang questioned the mook.

"This should just about do it," The man said as Yang stops her bike in a clearing.

"You wait here. I'll go up ahead and make sure the coast is clear," The mook said as he dismounts from the bike and runs into the bushes. Yang shakes her head in annoyance and discards her sunglasses, sleeve and coat tails before stretching a little. Suddenly, someone pulls the trigger of a gun and Yang blocks the shot with her arm. The man reappears with several bandits in tow.

"I can't believe you were dumb enough to let me lead you here," The mook mocked her as the bandits present all have their weapons drawn at Yang.

"Is this everyone?" Yang asked as she wasn't even intimidated by this.

The man chuckled and said, "Yes, little lady. This is it. Well, unless you count the whole rest of the camp back that way."

He gestures behind him with his thumb. Yang points a finger in the same direction.

"That way?" Tang asked as the man grunts in confusion and looking at his tribe mates first.

"Yes. That way."

"Good to know. Thanks."

"Now to pay me back for this tooth, we're going to take your bike. And you're going to take your lumps," The man said while punching his fists.

Yang engages Ember Celica on her left arm. The bandits get cautious and keep their weapons trained on her.

The man aimed his gun at her and said, "You got the jump on me last time, sweetheart. But you really ought to think twice about fighting all—"

"Alright... Get her!" The mook oredered as the banditsattack, and Yang defeats them. After the fight, Yang's left hand is shaking once again, but she calms herself down before walking back to her motorcycle.

The mook then coughs as he struggled to stand up and said, "Who are you? It doesn't even matter. When Raven finds out what you did, you're dead!"

"Possibly. But I doubt it. I am her daughter, after all," Yang said as the man's eyes widen inn shock then fear of realization.

"I'm dead," The man said as he then fell on the ground.

Unbeknownst by Yang or the bandits, Alpha the Pidgeot saw this since he was still ordered to keep the blonde girl safe, so he kept his distance till Yang began to drive away and followed suite.

In Haven, Oscar and Ruby are training hand to hand combat whilst Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren are looking on with the Pokemons with them.

"Man, Oz wasn't kidding. Oscar's picking up on this stuff fast," Jaune said.

"Don't doubt our Headmaster in teaching," Pyrrha said as Oscar hits Ruby straight in her face. Ruby recoils from the blow and looks visibly angry.

Oscar look in fear and quickly apologized but Ruby hits Oscar back and he lands a few feet away on the ground as Jaune, Nora, and Pyrrha wince at the sight.

"Ha! Yes! I did it!" Ruby cheered till she look at Oscar with concern. "Oscar?"

'You forgot to engage your Aura, again,' Ozpin said through his mental link with Oscar.

'Why didn't you tell me?' Oscar mentally asked.

'Because this method makes you less likely to forget,' Ozpin said as the farm hand groans and get to his feet. 'Mind if I give it a shot?'

Oscar stiffens briefly while his eyes glow in a yellow light.

"Not bad, Miss Rose. But Oscar doesn't have the years of training that you do. Or I do," Ozpin said through Oscar's body as the farm boy's body shimmers green as Ozpin engages their Aura. Jaune and Nora realize what Ruby is in for. Oscar determinedly approaches Ruby.

"Oh, ha, well, maybe we should uh... take a break," Ruby nervously said but Ozpin will not none of that for his student.

Ozpin attacks Ruby with a few punches aimed at her head, forcing her onto the defensive until he lands a blow to her face which knocks her back several feet. Ozpin closes the gap with a leap and kicks her in the face. Ruby leaps at Ozpin to throw a left cross which Ozpin evades by ducking and retaliates with a headbutt from below.

"Ouch," Nora said with a wince because of the scene.

"The next time you want to throw a left cross, remember to push off with the appropriate foot. And as always, do be aware of any openings," Ozpin pointed out as Ruby strainly sat up.

"Gooooot it," Ruby said with a moan of pain as Ozpin relinquishes his control and Oscar falls to the ground, panting.

"Oh! Hey. Are you okay?" Ruby asked in worry.

"How is this so exhausting?" Oscar asked.

"Your body isn't used to this kind of training, not to mention generating a defensive Aura on your own. It takes intense concentration at first, but in time it will become second nature, allowing you to deflect attacks and gradually heal your wounds. After that, you can begin focusing on your Semblance, whatever that may be," Ren said.

"Semblance?" Oscar asked in confusion as Nora decided to explain this to him.

"You know! Like your very own superpower! Everybody's got one. It's just a matter of finding it and mastering it. Ruby moves super fast, Electricity makes me stronger, Ren can mask emotions, Pyrrha is a magnet, and Jaune... can, uh, um. Hmm."

"I don't-"

"Jaune's like you!" Ruby cut Jaune off as she takes Oscar by the hand and leads him over to Jaune. "He hasn't found his Semblance yet, but we all know he will. And you will, too. We all just have to try and help each other get stronger."

"Cool," Oscar said in awe.

"A common philosophy is that a warrior's Semblance is a part of who they are. Some say your personality and character can define your Semblance while some claim that it is the other way around. Of course, there are still many who don't see a connection at all," Ren said.

"It's hard to know when you know sometimes. Ren's Semblance was unlocked from intense stress," Nora explained.

"And mine kicked in during training one day," Ruby explained hers.

"Mine too," Pyrrha said.

"And what about you?" The farm boy asked Nora.

"Oh. Struck by lightning. Didn't die. Craaaazy Thursday," Nora said it very casually.

"I really don't know why mine hasn't appeared yet. I mean, my weapon is already great, but having to know my Semblance would be great. I just don't know why it isn't appeared yet," Jaune said as Oscar's eyes glow momentarily as Ozpin takes control of his body again.

"Don't worry, Mr. Arc. Your journey is far from over. And the same might be said for all of you. Unlocking your Semblance isn't the end. It can still grow and evolve. Providing you're willing to put in the work, who knows what could happen," Ozpin assured him.

Ruby then smiled and said, "Then let's get back to it."

With such simple words of encouragement, everyone continued training.

Back in the forest of Anima, Yang finally enters the camp, escorted by a few bruised bandits who she had roughed up earlier. She notices more bandits lining up along the path, giving angry glares at her. Vernal steps out of her tent to see what the commotion is about. The two bandits guarding Weiss are playing cards with each other, before joining the rest of their tribe to see Yang walk in. Weiss notices this and once again summons a small Arma Gigas, who begins to get to work on freeing her from her confinement. Yang and her escorts arrive at the camp's main tent. Raven emerges from it with her mask on.

"Mom," Yang simply said as Raven took of her mask.

"Yang," Raven said with a smile. "So, after all this time you finally decided to visit me."

Yang feels her left hand shaking once again, but she uses her robotic hand to calm it down.

"You know that I searched for you. I spent years looking for you," Yang pointed out to her.

"And you've found me. You were patient, determined, and strong enough to make your dream a reality. Well done, Yang. But did you have to be so rough with my men?" Raven said as she saw her men nearly unconscious.

"I didn't want a fight. They started it," Yang said.

"Well, you certainly finished it," Raven rebutted as it follwed by silence till she broke it. "Right. I'm sure this is all very overwhelming. But I must admit that you've proven yourself. So any questions you have I'll be happy to answer. You can stay with us tonight. I'll even have the cooks whip up something for you."

"That's not why I am here," Yang said as the bandits react to Yang's irreverence.

"What was that?" Raven asked.

"I'm not here for you. Ruby is somewhere in Mistral. She's with Qrow, and she's going to need my help. I just need you to take me to her."

"And why would I do that?"

"Because we're family," Raven scowled from the answer.

"Family. Only coming around when they need something," Raven mumbled as she then look at her daughter. "I have to say, I'm disappointed. After all, you found me, didn't you? Why not take that drive and use it to find your little sister if she means that much to you?"

"Because you're going to save me time. Ruby was heading to Mistral, but there's no guarantee she's made it there. Looking for her in Anima could take ages. But... Dad told me how your Semblance works," Yang said as Raven said her husband's name under her breath. "You can bond to certain people. And when you do, you could create a portal that takes you straight to them. You've got one for Dad. One for me. And you've got one for Qrow. He promised me he'd watch out for Ruby before he left. And I trust him. So, make a portal to my uncle and sister, and I'll be on my way."

"You know, it takes real strength to march in here and demand such a favor of me. I've got to say, I'm impressed. It's very noble to want to help out your sister. But if she's with Qrow, then she's already a lost cause," Raven said which made Yang mad from her dismissal.

"What does that mean?"

"You don't want to get mixed up in all of that, Yang. Ozpin is not the man you think he is. And Qrow is a fool for trusting him. I would know, I trusted him once, too."

"I don't care what you think," Yang rebutted as Vernal, holding Myrtenaster, looks on disdainfully, and places her right hand on her hip.

"Your choice is your own. All I'm suggesting is that instead of getting wrapped up in something too big for you, for any of us, that maybe you take a moment to wonder if you're already where you belong," Raven said.

"Save your breath. You can spout off whatever you want, but nothing is going to keep me from my sister."

"Well, aren't you stubborn."

"I get it from my mom."

"Well, if that's how you feel, then it sounds like we're done here. Take her away," Raven ordered as the bandits surround and begin to move in on Yang. Yang sees this, before turning her head back to Raven in anger.

"Did you not hear me?" Yang questioned as Raven turns back and went to her tent which made Yang's eyes turn red in anger. "I said send me to Qrow, damn it!"

"That's enough! You watch your mouth in front of our leader!" One of the bandit yelled at her from the disrespect as some of the bandits tense up behind him.

"Make me," Yang taunts as the bandit tries to attack Yang, Yang punches the Bandit into a tent, revealing Weiss in her cage.

"Yang?/ Weiss?" Both Weiss and Yang asked in confusion as everyone else present is surprised that the two girls know each other.

"Alright, well, subtlety is out," Weiss said to herself as she turns to her miniature Arma Gigas and makes it grow, destroying the cage in the process. She quickly makes her way towards Yang, with the now giant Arma Gigas following close behind.

"What is that?" Yang asked as she look at the giant summon.

"Don't worry about it. What are you doing here?" Weiss asked.

Yang then point at Raven with her thumb and said, "Well, that's my mom and she can take us to Ruby."

"Ugh," Raven could only look confused at this.

"Your mom kidnapped me?!" Weiss said incredulously as Yang turned to her birth mother.

"You kidnapped her?!" Yang, Weiss and Weiss' summon turn and run to fight the bandits, but a lightning bolt appears, summoned by Vernal, stopping the fight before it starts.

"Enough!" Vernal's shout echoed through the camp.

"Thank you," Raven said to the brunette as she then look at everyone. "If you people don't keep it together this place will be crawling with Grimm."

Raven look back at Vernal and said, "Give the girl her weapon back."

Vernal looks surprised at the command, then tosses Myrtenaster to Weiss.

Raven then look back to her daughter and the heiress, and said, "You two. In my tent. Now."

"Why?" Yang asked warily.

"If you're really going after your sister, then you need to know the truth," Raven said as she enters her tent and the bandits go back to their own businesses. Weiss places her hand on her chest in relief.

Yang then turned to Weiss and said, "Sorry about--"

Suddenly, Weiss drops Myrtenaster and strongly hugs Yang.

"I missed you so much," Weiss said as Yang smiled.

"I've missed you, too," Yang said as she puts her hand on the back of Weiss' head and hugs back as her summon disappears.

As they continued there embrace, Both Alpha and Temari watched this from the distance as the two bird Pokemons also saw a white figure running through the back of the tents, and Temari continued watching from the trees outside the camp while Alpha flew off.

In Vale City, Shori is currently sitting in his and Seier's apartment as he rock his crying daughter to sleep with dry eyes.

He took a small break with helping with the construction to take care for his young daughter and slightly regretted it. While he does love her daughter, he was getting tired of her constant crying that he wished his wife and Emerald were here to help him, but unfortunately Seier went out for a while with her Pokemons.

His Pokemons aren't much help since they are too big for the apartment to handle except for Voltus, and are quite intimidating for her.

"Please stop crying," Shori said with a tired tone as he continued to rock Nozomu to sleep be was unsuccessfull.

Voltus the Raichu then walk out of the kitchen with a glass of water for his trainer and a bottle of milk for Nozomu.

"Thanks," Shori said with a smile as he reach out for the bottle till he felt himself get hit by small jolts of electricity as he then look at Voltus with a frown. "You used your electricity to heat it up didn't you?"

Voltus had the decency to look sheepish as Shori could only sigh.

He then heard something ringing as he look at the coffee table to see his Scroll ringing.

He picked it up with his unoccupied hand and pressed the call button to see that it was his wife, Seier, calling him.

"Yes honey?" Shori asked as he continued to rock Nozomu to sleep.

"I am coming home soon," Seier said as Shori now saw her running.

"Why?" He asked.

"Lock the doors, don't let anyone but me, and prepare yourselves," Seier said as her husband looked confused.

"What is going on?" Shori asked as he then stood up.

"We have some trouble soon and we need to be prepared," Seier said which made Shori worry.

"Okay, I'll prepare myself just be safe okay," Shori said.

"Don't worry, I have Sun and Blake with me, I have Emerald going ahead," Seier assured him as she then ended the call.

Shori quickly put his daughter in her crib as she then gave her a now safe milk bottle and quickly went to the door and lock it, he then look at Voltus and said, "Guard the doors on the balcony and wait for Emerald."

Voltus nods as he quickly ran to the balcony door as he leave a now stressed Shori.

"What do they want from us," Shori muttered as he quickly grabbed Fury from the corner of the room, and drank a cup of coffee to get some energy. "No matter what, I won't let them mess with my family."

Whoever it is, they won't touch anyone he loves, and they won't live to regret it.

And that is it for this chapter.

The stakes are going up boys and girls, I really appreciate you guys for enjoying this story since the very beginning as you guys continue to read this story, and I really hope that you will continue reading this along with my other stories.

I am also open to let this story have a reaction story by you guys, but you need my permission of to make it, of course, as I don't want someone to use this as an excuse to trash talk my story just to spite me.

Like seriously, this isn't the place for trash talking, but for everyone to enjoy their taste of literature.

I was still salty to that one guy that threatened me on my new story: Pokemon Honor and Pride, and I would appreciate that you guys aren't like him because of the desperate need of a good review.

It's like a mugger threatening a pro boxer.

I just make stories because I want to, not for everyone to know me as someone great, it takes dedication and planning to make a story, and my still active stories are a sign of that. Failures leads to success, just because I fail on my old discontinued stories doesn't mean I'll stop making more to reach my expectations.

I really just enjoy making stories because it lets me release all of those ideas in my head to be let out, and to gain more inspiration to the many stories I read about.

So for now, I really hope you enjoy this story and I'll see you guys to the next chapter.

Vic out Peace.
