DISCLAIMER: I don't own any of the characters. Though I wish I did :/

Annabeth:

Come over. Need help. Mom's birthday.

This was the text I got from Percy in the group chat. We, me and Luke, were sitting under a tree in Central Park. He brought the picnic basket and we sat down. No one was around. It was a nice afternoon, a little chilly, but nice. The clouds were barely covering the sun and the sky was nearly blue as someone's eyes.

I leaned back, basking in the sunlight. Luke was next to me texting someone and it was awkward.

"So.." I wanted to get out of here and help Percy with his mom's birthday.

"Yeah?" Luke asked, finally switching off his phone.

"Percy's mom's birthday is today and he's asking for help," I said. "Can we wrap this up? I want to help him."

He eyed me suspiciously.

"I don't like this Percy guy. He's stealing all the time I have with you." He said tickling me. I giggled.

"But seriously, his mom is a great lady. She deserves a surprise. I really want to help. Please?" I pouted, giving him my puppy eyes.

He sighed.

"All right. But I'm coming too." He said. I smiled.

"Sure! The more the merrier." I said, joyfully and started packing the leftovers of our little lunch date.

We walked over to his car and got in. I gave him the directions to the nearest store to buy a few party supplies. And then we sped off to Percy's house.

Percy:

The first knock came twenty minutes later.

I looked into the peep-hole to see Leo and Cally. Leo with a ridiculous party hat on and Cally with a white plastic bag filled to the brim.

I opened the door.

"Hey, guys!" I greeted as Cally gave me a huge hug and walked over to the twins.

"How come I never get a hug like that?" Leo pouted before greeting me and walking over to the couch.

The second knock came ten minutes later.

I opened the door to see Thalia, Hazel and Piper. They all hugged me and walked into the kitchen with their supplies.

Then slowly, Jason, Nico and Frank decided to show up.

"Where's Annabeth?" I asked, disappointedly. No one answered and as if on cue the doorbell rang and I opened it.

There they were, Annabeth and freaking Luke.

"Hey- I-" I sputtered, looking at Luke in surprise.

"What's he doing here?" I asked, aggressively. Luke just glared.

"Boys, be nice." Annabeth scolded while we glared at each other. She sighed and marched into the kitchen with her big bag of supplies.

"You can go sit on the couch," I said and shut the door angrily.

This was going to be a long evening.

Annabeth:

"So we need a plan," I said rubbing my hands together after I managed to gather all the teenagers into the kitchen. Some were sitting on the barstools and some were strewn all over the kitchen. The twins, being the little angels they were, were the only people who listened to me. It took me nearly twenty minutes just to gather these people.

"Thalia, Piper and Hazel? You're on food and drinks duty." I said and they nodded.

"Luke, Percy and Jason? You three are on decoration duty. And boys? Please get along." I eyed Percy and Luke who looked as if they were going to fist-fight any minute. They scowled at me.

"Leo and Frank? You both are on twins duty." I point to the little angels who smiled sweetly.

"Cally and Nico? You both are on cleaning duty." I said. And they nodded. Leo raised his hand.

"You don't have to- yes? What is it, Leo?" I asked.

"What are you going to do?" He asked.

"I will be observing how things are going and guide."

"You mean boss around?" Leo snickered. I glared at him and he shut up.

"All right. Chop chop! Get to work people! I want this place to be party-ready in two hours!" I yelled and they all mock-saluted and ran around to do their part.

Ah. This harmony was relaxing.

Percy:

"Woah, Woah, Woah! That should not go there." I said, removing the HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SALLY! banner from the kitchen and bringing it to the living room.

"Who put this th-?"

"I did." Luke cut me off.

"But we agreed it's supposed to go over there!" I said.

"Well, I think it's better near the kitchen." He shrugged.

I was fuming, first, he came to this party, second, he didn't listen to me about the balloons and now with the banner.

"Oh, I'll show you where it's better-" I said and nearly charged at him. Jason was there in a flash.

Jason stood between us, pushing us away from each other.

"Hey. HEY!" He exclaimed. "Calm down, man."

I shrugged him off before I flipped Luke off and walked out to the porch.

This was stupid. Why was I getting so riled up at freaking Luke?

"Hey." I heard someone. Thalia.

"Hey," I said.

"You good, cousin?"

"I guess," I said as I picked at my shoelaces absent-mindedly.

"Come on. What's on your mind?" She asked after nudging me with her elbow.

"I think- I think I'm in love with Annabeth." There. I said it. No taking back.

Thalia did the least expected thing I thought she would do. She whacked me on the head.

"I knew that. You should see the way you look at her." She said.

"And now she's with Luke and they look really happy-" I said.

"Yeah. But there's plenty more fish in the sea." She said. And I smiled.

I knew it. I was in love with Annabeth.
