Dragon's POV

This is all such a pain in the ass, as much as I hate admit it, training sounds like a good idea. Training Luffy that is, I don't want to train, in fact a majority of my life with the Marines had been spent training and it has never been fun.

He seemed eager now, earlier the kid had been acting a little odd. When I say odd, I mean odd for Luffy, he's always a little strange, but then he starts going on about gut feels and he lost me.

Hey, I can appreciate a gut feeling, however my boy had been worrying about it to much, I think it's probably all in his head. Gut feels are just that a feeling in your gut, something your body does when you eat something funny or your overly stressed. Like me, I so freaking stressed, 24/7, seven days a week.

But the way the kid was acting it was something terrible, I'm sure, if anything bad is going to happen, it will just happen. Nothing anyone can do about it, in fact I expect at least something bad will befall us, pretty everyday.

It's not if, but when.

By the time we arrive top deck Luffy was back to his old self. Not a care in the world. Also the old man was waiting for them, I'm guessing for the training. Honestly I was still not feeling overly pleased with having accepted his help.

Also he was a huge headache now, well more than he was before anyway. He had gotten this thing into his head and I would appreciate if he got it out and stomped on it. That was the whole you are my son crap. What was wrong with the old man. I have no clue, but he was a pain in the ass. Didn't I have enough to worry about, without this stupid old man's delusions.

"Hey Pops! Can Luffy and Dragon training with us, yoi?" Marco asked the Yonko, who glanced up from where he was waiting.

He was sat on he chair on deck, the blue haired woman was stood next to him, along with the ball and chain man, who currently did not have said weapon. It still weirded me out how the flail thing was alive.

Never mind, this whole crew was bat shit crazy. I don't know why I keep forgetting that.

I cut in quickly before the old man could say anything, I didn't want to spend more time with him then I had to.

"Nope, just Luffy. I have other stuff to do."

Whitebeards delusions freaked me out, I already had to deal with more than I would like to, because of the Luffy situation.

But that was as far as I was willing to go with it. As soon as Luffy was back home, I was off this ship as fast as possible. I didn't care what this man had to say, even though he said about me staying past then and gathering some money together for my Revolutionary stuff, I wasn't sold on it.

What if he didn't keep his word. Then what?

"What getting outside help are we boys. I don't mind, you kids won't win even with them helping you." Whitebeard giving them a cocky grin.

Wait, hang on. Them?.

"I said I pass on the whole training stuff, I'm not a kid and I don't need training!" I snapped, I wasn't letting the old man selfishly disregard my decisions.

"What? Why not, please Dragon, yoi." Marco asked dejected, he gave me a pleading stare which I ignored easily. The only one who charms I wasn't immune to, seemed to be Luffy and even then it wasn't a guarantee to work.

I gave the blonde kid a chilly stare, he seemed to get the message. No, means no.

I wish the dumb old man got the message, he seemed be finding this whole damn situation incredibly amusing.

"What's the matter son? Too scared to fight an old man and lose."

At that point I decided to just remove myself, that wasn't without giving my two cents worth first.

I was going to make this annoying old man back off, I wasn't on of his crew and as such I wasn't going to take his antics like the rest of them.

"One! I am not your son! Two I am not a kid so don't treat me like one and three! You throw Luffy in the ocean and I will throw you in the ocean!" I turned my intimidation up to maximum, giving the man my best threatening glare. I was satisfied for about two seconds, he looked surprised then he burst in to a fit of laughter.

"Alright brat! You gonna back that up?" He taunted, he got up and lent over me menacingly. I was not going to back down from this, I glared at him defiantly.

Whitebeard towered over me, golden eyes flashing dangerously, raised his hand.

I was suddenly very aware of who I was talking to, where had all my caution gone. When did I start threatening Yonko, in fact I was starting to do dumb shit like Luffy. This was his thing, not mine. I was the one with the brain, I tried not to get us killed. Yet here I was.

This old man got under my skin so much that I had forgotten my survival instincts. What was I doing! I was going to get us killed!

I needed to apologise or something. I wasn't the only person in this mess, I had two lives to think about. I wasn't going to selfishly-

My thought process was abruptly cut off, when the large hand clapped me on the back, almost knocking me over. In a panic I tried to defend myself, but it ended with me on my face. I had tried and failed to turn myself into a nice gust of wind, instead I had blown myself over.

Please let me die from embarrassment.

It was only a year since I hadn't used my devil fruit, it was like I had just eaten the fruit all over again. No control, only massive stupid mistakes.

Or maybe it was because I didn't know how to react to the old man and I had actually had a lapse in brain processing power.

All I knew was that my face was burning and I wanted to go and hide.

I stood up ramrod straight, coughing a little, hoping to get some dignity back. I could hear several sniggers, which were abruptly silenced with a frozen glare. The sniggers were from the small group of teenagers and the ball and chain guy. Surprisingly Luffy wasn't among them, he was staring at me with a almost half hearted smile, he looked a little sad.

Why, I wasn't sure. I wanted to ask him, but it was not the time nor the place.

"You guys are such kids. He fell over big deal, all of you aren't any better." The voice belonged to a large man with a horned helmet, when I say he was large he was huge. In fact he over shadowed Jozu quite easily, though he still wasn't as big as the Whitebeard himself.

"Atmos! Come on it was funny, yoi" The young blonde chuckled, but the kid back down when the man didn't look impressed.

"Aren't you kids meant to be training?"

"Yes..." Jozu mumbled a little, I wasn't expecting the kid to be the one to answer.

Finally the old man stood up straight, giving the younger man a smile.

"Oh, Atmos. We were jus-"

"Bothering the new guy, yeah, I can see that. Honestly Pops, you need to tone it down a bit. Poor guy just needs some space, at least let him settle in before you start your dad antics."

The Yonko snorted, however shockingly he didn't deny any of it.

Also what were dad antics? All I saw was him being overly annoying.

"Right, come on boys, you heard your brother training time. Dragon... sorry, just thought it would be fun. You don't actually have to do any training. It's up to you." With that the captain shooed the apprentices and Luffy away, leaving me alone with Atmos, the woman and Dreadlocks.

Though he did turn back briefly to say "And don't worry I wouldn't do anything harmful to your kid- brother."

I stood there a little stunned, what just happened?

"I don't get- I- What just happened?" I blurted out.

"Don't worry you get used to him eventually. Most of the time Pops means well, but he has a odd way of showing it." Dreadlocks said, he wandered over to stand at my shoulder.

I turned to give him dubious look, Dreadlocks just shrugged giving me a sympathetic smile.

"Don't worry, he irritates everyone. For some reason he seems to think it's his job." The woman added, she had a tired half lidded gaze, she looked fed up.

"Wait, he annoys you guys too?"

"Yes" The three of them said in unison. I had to admit they looked as tired and stressed as felt.

That really confused me. So, I wasn't the only one who found the old man wearing, why were they still here if they didn't like him.

"How do you people cope with him?"

"Once you know how to deal with him, it gets a lot better believe me." Atmos replied.

"Don't worry Dragon we've been where you've been. Anyway coffee anyone? I need some fucking coffee, I'm so damn tired" The blue haired woman muttered, stretching.

"Coffee! Hell yeah, bitch give me some!" I turned to find another person coming towards us, it was the blonde worm man. Only, the worm part was completely gone, be looked like a normal dude. He was much skinnier then I originally thought too, maybe he was a devil fruit user, Zoan type maybe.

"Oh, hey Epoida! Oooh, I love the new shirt!" She said as Epoida flung a arm around her, they both giggled.

The other two guys sighed, they exchanged aspirated looks, yet they didn't leave. Simply watching their interactions with bored faces.

"Okay! Are we gonna get coffee or are we going to talk about our shoes next." Dreadlocks scoffed sarcastically, he received two angry glares which he ignored gleefully.

"Rakuyo's just mad that his shoes suck" Epoida retorted, the woman laughed out loud.

"Hey!" Rakuyo pouted, Atmos just patted his shoulder.

"Alright come on, let's move. Dragon you want to come along?" The horned- helmet man inquired.

I didn't know what to say, these people were just acting like, well, I don't know? Normal young adults? I don't know, it's not like I ever really spoke to anyone. Not for a long time, not it such a normal way.

I just nodded. He smiled, he took up the lead, we all started to head towards the bar, I didn't even know they did coffee down there.

I hung back a little, only to have Rakuyo drape his arm over my shoulders lazily, normally I didn't like physical contact, however the way it was done felt so causal and friendly that it didn't even bother me. He grinned, steering me towards the group.

"Come on bro, I'll give you some pointers. The need to knows on how to survive on this ship without going crazy."

"Uh, thanks... also I'm not your brother."

"Try telling Pops that."

"I did! Multiple times!"

" Yeahhhh, so did I."

"Huh?"

"You'll feel better after coffee."

"I-I-"

"Seriously dude, you need coffee. You didn't drink anything yesterday. You need liquids!"

"Oh...?

I guess I was having coffee? What did coffee even taste like?

Sabo's POV

It was getting pretty dark out, they hadn't managed to make it all that far. Blackbeard and Burgess couldn't have been far behind, they would have noticed that he and Red were gone.

Red, who Sabo had decided to call the kid for the time being was stuck close to his side. He still couldn't remember anything, but that was the least of their worries for now.

While Sabo was concerned about the boy's memory loss, it wasn't something they could do about until they were safe. Then once they were Sabo would call Dragon and let him know what had happened.

What had happened...

Sabo actually couldn't really say for sure. One minute he was fighting his way through several Blackbeard pirates who had invaded the revolutionary base on Baltigo. Then Sabo was attacked by Blackbeard himself.

They had fought, when Blackbeard had said something that had enraged Sabo. He was a laid-back individual most of the time, but there were certain things that really pushed his buttons.

Nobles and his brothers were his two things that he really hated people mentioning. Or at least in a bad light anyway.

Blackbeard had taunted him with Ace's death, more specifically the fact that he had wanted Ace's devil fruit power. The power he currently possessed. He had said something about wanting to recruit him, but when Blackbeard had mentioned killing Luffy, Ace had thrown himself at the Yonko and that was when Blackbeard captured him.

Then he had turned round and said something that Sabo was so appalled by that, in that moment his mind went blank and he had only one thing in his brain.

Kill Blackbeard!

Sabo knew losing one's cool in a battle never ended well, but he couldn't help it.

Then Blackbeards darkness power had consumed him and the next thing he knew was he was locked in a shack and chained up.

One thing the Yonko hadn't bet on was that Sabo was pretty great at escaping places. And also Red had come along and made the escape a walk in the park.

One of the best advantages over him that Sabo possessed was that he knew how cocky he was. He was so sure that his plans would work, that he hadn't thought for second that they would actually get away.

That had run as far away from that shack as possible, nobody was even guarding the door, well except a weakling who was so drunk that he had passed out.

Red and Sabo had stepped over the man and bolted. They were now running madly through a forest, he didn't know where they were, but anywhere was better than being chained up in a shack.

As much as the revolutionary wanted to kick Blackbeard to the bottom of the ocean and watch him drown. Revenge wasn't nearly as important as finding Luffy.

Honestly, he had his fair share of rage towards the Blackbeard. He was the reason that Ace had been captured and that in itself was bad enough.

To find out they were after his baby brother, it made Sabo feel sick to the stomach. No way in hell was that happening.

Sabo wasn't losing his last brother. His precious little brother that he had failed. If only he had been there, maybe then they both could have saved Ace.

Sabo grit his teeth, no, no fucking way was he going to touch Luffy!

His mission now was simple, he was going to find Luffy. Where ever he was Sabo was going to find him and protect him at all costs.

Dragon was going to have to wait. He had already made it clear, Luffy was the most important thing to him and his job came second.

He had made that very clear to his boss. Dragon hadn't been too pleased, but as it was to do with his son, maybe he made an exception.

Sabo never really knew what was going on his head. In fact, a lot of people even questioned if he was even a real person and not an actual dragon.

His boss lacked a lot of emotion. When he spoke, it was always calmly and almost emotionless even. He didn't have time for fun or even normal relationships.

He was the revolutionary leader, that was it. Nothing more, nothing less.

He didn't even make time for Luffy, in fact he hadn't even seen him properly since he was a baby. It's not like Logue Town really counted as a meeting.

Sabo didn't really get it. Luffy was the best thing, one of his favourite pass times was bragging about his baby brother. Dragon needed to know how great his own son was.

Well that was until he started getting near constant scares from said little brother.

The gentlemanly blonde brought out Luffy's vivre card, he had several nervous breakdowns already. Why? Because whatever his reckless baby brother was doing had caused his Vivre card to burn several times.

Sabo was horrified by how much Luffy's life was put in danger. Whether it was Luffy putting himself in those situations or not, no older brother wanted to see that.

"Sabo...? I can see a dock up ahead" Red announced, his beaten-up face which the blonde had patched up was scrunched up in thought.

"Yeah, it looks like there's a town over that way too. Hopefully we should be able to lose them there."

"Do you think they will attack us in a town?"

Sabo shook his head; he had no idea. Blackbeard was something else, he was really unpredictable and he really hated that about him.

As the chief of staff of the Revolutionary army, the blonde was used to disappearing and going undercover, in fact it was one of his specialities. However, having a injured kid with him was definitely going to make it harder.

Sabo sighed, crouching down gesturing for the young boy to climb onto his back.

The blonde was worried about the kid, he looked tired and he was hurt. He could probably do with a rest.

Red frowned wincing a little. "I can walk on my own... I'm fine."

"Red just get on, you look like you're about to fall over. Anyway, I used to give my baby brother piggybacks all the time."

He stared at Sabo for a split second, until he gave in and climbed up.

"You have a brother?"

"Yup, I'm going to find him. While we're doing that we can see if anything jogs your memory" Sabo said as he started to make his way towards the docks.

"Do you think so?"

"Sure, you just need to find a trigger, maybe we'll even find your family along the way"

Sabo was pretty sure about that, hopefully it would be easier to get this kid's memories back, then his own.

"I don't think I have one, it doesn't feel like I have one..." Red said sadly.

Sabo felt that, he remembered feeling so alone when had first woken up, he could still feel that gut wrenching panic in his chest when they had offered to take him back to his parents.

Yet, Sabo did have a family, he had two brothers. He felt guilty about that every single day, he couldn't imagine the amount of grief he had put Ace and Luffy through.

He shook those thoughts from his head, no good thinking about that now, it was in the past. Nothing he could do about it now.

"Red just keep an open mind okay. We don't know anything just yet, while we're in town we can ask around. If you start feeling bad about something just let me know. I don't want to force you to go back somewhere you hate."

Red was silent for moment, then he felt warm even breaths on the back of his neck. He was asleep.

Oh, well. He obviously needed the sleep. He was just a kid after all.

Sabo carried on, picking his pace up a little as the town came into view. He was sort of relieved, at least here they had places to hide out.

As he stepped into the town square, the blonde went into stealth mode, melting into the crowd, this was his domain now. Blackbeard and his lackeys would be at a disadvantage here.

He smiled confidently, now where was a snail phone. He had a phone call to his boss to make.
