The shipwrights were guarding Galley Law's main office so tight not even a fly could fly in unnoticed.
"This is our turf!" said a shipwright.
The other shipwrights cheered in agreement.
"Any of those pirates try to set foot on these grounds tonight. It will be the last thing they'll do! The honour of Galley Law depends on it!"
"Mr Iceberg depends on it."
"They'll pay for what they did!"
"Is the back door covered?"
"Yeah, we've got guys covering the entire premise of this place and then some. Nobody is getting in here."
"Come on, pirates! I dare you! Bring it on!"
Hiccup and the others were observing them from the tree.
"Sounds like something is going on down there," said Toothless, looking at Chopper. "What do you see?"
"Well, they're all standing around for now, but they are all huge and armed and angry," said Chopper.
"All that yelling is just them flexing their muscles," said Hiccup.
"Even still, we have to be careful," said Astrid. "They have a reputation for able to handle themselves when push comes to shove. We don't want to rush in and do anything we're going to regret later."
"But didn't Hiccup charged in there this morning, and he came out all right," said Ruffnut.
Hiccup looked at her. "Ruff, I just wanted to confirm Iceberg's story. The situation is completely different now. Heather is going to attack this place with an unknown assailant, and there's no telling if they have any more compatriots."
"Anyway, don't take your eyes off them, Chopper," said Toothless. "We don't want any kind of surprises down there."
"Right," Chopper nodded and continued to look through his binoculars.
"Anything happens; you let us know," said Toothless.
"Okay, you got it."
"I think we're going to have a really long night ahead of us. If we blow our opportunity, it's over; we can't let our guard down no matter what happens. If we want to know the truth about Heather, then it has to be tonight or never."
"I have a feeling we're going to be talking to her real soon," said Hiccup.
Iceberg was just sitting in his bed petting Rex and then turned to Kala.
"Kala…"
"Yes, Mr Iceberg?" Kala asked.
"Not to be rude, but you mind stepping out of the room for a moment?"
"No, of course not," she said was about to leave."
"One more thing, fetch Palmer," said Iceberg. "I need to have a word with him."
"Yes, sir."
She then made her way outside with the foreman were standing guard.
"Excuse me, Palmer," she said, looking at him.
"Huh?" he said.
"Mr Iceberg needs to see you. I assume that it is very important."
"He asked for me?" said Palmer looking surprised.
"Yes, specifically," she nodded. "I have something to take care of in my office if anyone needs me."
"Right," said Palmer as she walked off.
"Seems like an awfully strange time for one-on-one conversation," said Silvernose. "What in blazes could be about?"
"Don't have a clue."
"It is will!" Tilestone yelled, which earned him several punches from the foremen.
"Well, what are you doing out here?" said Lasse. "Go on in there and talk to him."
"Uh, sure," said Palmer.
"Don't worry, we can step away from the door if you're concerned about privacy," Lasse assured him.
"Good idea," said Palmer.
With that, the four of them moved away from the door, and Palmer entered Iceberg's room.
"What the heck could he want to talk about with Palmer?" Tilestone asked.
"Whatever it is, it's between them," said Lasse. "We've got enough to deal with. I think we need to stay focused on our private problem."
"Right," Lael nodded. "Okay, according to Kala, it's a small group with only 10 people on their crew. The ones to watch out for are Dragon Conqueror Hiccup, Valkyrie Astrid, Pirate Hunter Toothless and Heather Owson."
"I would underestimate that boy with the black hair," said Slivernose.
"A few of our men reported Toothless being with a pair of twins," said Lasse.
"Yeah, there are those three you just mentioned along with two others," Lael nodded. "It doesn't matter what those pirates are after; they step foot on this property tonight they're done for. Every single last one of them, got it?"
"Right!" they all nodded.
Meanwhile, Iceberg had his one-to-one chat with Palmer.
"Yeah, I understand, sir," said Palmer after Iceberg finished explaining.
"I apologise for putting you in harm's way like this, Palmer," said Iceberg. "Apologetically, but this is a very grave matter, and I trust that you can get it done. Can I put my faith in you?"
"I give you my word, sir. I swear that I won't let you down."
Iceberg closed his eyes. "You're a good man."
"Well, I suppose I should get on it," said Palmer as he sat up.
"Thank you."
Palmer then left the room where outside the foreman were waiting for him.
"You done talking with him?" Lael asked.
"Yeah," Palmer nodded and looked at the four of them. "Hey, listen, guys. I've got a going head out and take care of something, cool?"
"No problem, that'll be fine," said Lasse. "Four of us will keep watch of things here."
"Thanks. Just keep Iceberg safe, you guys."
He then began making his way down the corridor.
Palmer followed Iceberg's instructions, made his way to his office, and then began moving the main desk.
'When you leave here, go straight to my office and moved my desk,' Iceberg instructed. 'I want you to lift up the rug and look underneath it. There's a safe hidden there.'
Once Palmer moved the desk, he lifted up the rug and removed one of the floorboards, and sure enough, there was a safe.
"Jackpot," he said.
'Once you find that, enter this combination,' said Iceberg.
He then looked around to make sure that no one was watching and then began to open the safe with the combination Iceberg had given him.
"First right to number six…" he said as he began to twiddle the dial.
Outside, Heather and the masked man, who was now wearing a bear mask, waited when their transponder snail began to ring.
"Are you ready?" said a female voice.
"Yes," said the masked man. "Awaiting your signal."
"It will be very soon now at that time, the four of you are to carry out your respective missions with ruthless efficiency."
"As a loyal member of CP-9, you have my word," he said and then turned towards Heather. "Heather Owson, are you ready?"
"Yes, I am," she said.
Suddenly there was a huge explosion outside the main entrance to the Galley Law building.
"Whoa!" Chopper yelled. "Something blew up!
Everyone in the area could hear the explosion, including Palmer.
"Oh no!" he said as he looked up. "What the hell was that?"
The shipwrights outside were taken completely by surprise.
"Get water now!"
"We've got a man down over here!"
"Make sure that fire doesn't spread to the building!"
"Guys, they're shooting at us!"
"No, man, I'm pretty sure it was some kind of bomb."
"Someone must have set it then."
"Hey, men, we've got to put out this fire!"
"Somebody give me a hand!"
"Not too subtle, but it will do," said the man in the bear mask. "Let's move."
The two of them then jumped down from the building.
At the same time, the shipwrights of Galley Law were mobilising.
"Fires in the North corridor of the first floor, is anyone hurt?"
"There's no pirates spotted yet! Everybody keep your eyes peeled for intruders!"
"Stay at your posts, men! Do not let them get inside!"
Tilestone burst into Iceberg's room. "Sir! Iceberg, are you okay?"
"Yeah, just a bit shocked," he said.
"Then they are!" said a voice.
"It's that guy in the costume! Get him!"
"Those bastards!" Tilestone roared as he made his way back into the corridor. "I'll pound in their faces!"
"I've got your back," said Lasse, and the two of them ran down the corridor.
"Wait, hold on!" Silvernose yelled, but they had already turned around the corner. "For Pete's sake."
He then sat back down on his chair, leaving only he and Lael to guard Iceberg.
"There he goes, hurry!"
"We've got this clown!"
"He's alone; box him in!"
They were chasing down someone in a mask, but it wasn't the same guy that was with Heather. In fact, whoever they were was much more petite and was holding a thorn wipe. They looked ahead and saw a bunch of shipwrights was blocking their path.
"Stop, it's the end of the line!"
However, they nearly got in close and then dealt a powerful uppercut underneath the shipwright's chin. Then dealt a powerful kick sending him flying into other shipwrights behind him. A large shipwright swung the sword at them, but they easily dodged and kneed him in the chest.
Other shipwrights moved in, but they were incredibly skilled and avoided them and dealt some powerful kicks. Then they jumped into the air and swung their wipe towards the roof above, and the horns pierce the stone roof and use the web like a springboard to get over it.
"He's headed for the roof!"
However, when they reached the top of the roof, they discovered several shipwrights standing on top.
"So you thought you could get away from, didn't you punk?" said a shipwright. "It's gonna take a lot more than that to get by us. You made a big mistake when he decided to mess with Galley Law. Prepare for the beating of your life because we're not going to show any mercy, scumbag."
"You can come at me with all you've got, but it still won't be enough," they said, and the voice was definitely feminine.
Down the ground, shipwrights were chasing after Heather and the man in the bear mask.
"We've got two over here!"
"They're headed for the back door!"
Suddenly arms sprouted out of some of the shipwrights, and the next thing they knew, they were knocked out cold.
"We've got them cornered, move!"
"Don't let those bastards inside!"
The large man in the bear mask nearly knocked them aside as they kept running.
"You have the floorplans memorised, is that correct?" he said to Heather.
"Yes," she said.
Up in the tree, Hiccup and the others could hear the commotion going on at the Galley Law building.
"So they all seem pretty worked up down there," said Chopper.
"Yeah, there's definitely something going on right now," Toothless agreed.
"It would seem as if Heather and her unknown associates have made their move," said Hiccup.
"So when are we going to make a move?" Toothless asked.
"I'm afraid the twins are already made their move," Astrid groaned.
"What?" Hiccup stared and shown are the twins were gone. "Once again, another plan executed."
"So what we do now?" Astrid asked.
"Go after the twins and back them up; I'll wait here for the perfect opportunity to break into the building," said Hiccup.
Down on the ground, Heather and the man in the mask were cornered by the shipwrights.
"You've got a lot of nerve coming here after the crap you try to pull last night. You're going to pay for what you did!"
"Oh yeah, you guys are in for a world of hurt from messing with Mr Iceberg! Surrender!"
The shipwrights then aimed their weapons directly at them.
"Give it up now, and we might just go easy on ya."
"You're surrounded. There's nowhere to run."
"We already know that it's not just the two of you guys in your little pirate gang. Now, where are the others?"
The man in the bear mask then began to back towards the wall, and he reached into his cloak.
"He's pulling our a weapon!"
"Shoot him!"
It turned out the only thing that he pulled out was a blanket; the shipwright had only opened fire with their rifles and pistols. They kept on shooting until they were out of bullets, and they were confident that they killed them, but when the smoke settled, all that was left was the tattered remains of the blanket, much to their surprise.
"No way."
"They're gone?"
"What the hell?"
"Where did they go?"
Up on the roof of the women in the mask easily swatted away the shipwrights that charged at her. One of them would actually not off the roof and landed on the ground.
"Hey, are you okay?" said a shipwright bending down to one of his comrades that have been blown away.
"Man, that guy is a monster," he said, barely able to stay conscious. "He flew… He was flying through the air."
"What the hell? He can fly?"
The shipwrights on the roof were still had their weapons brandished.
"Idiots," she said. "Do you not know when to give up?"
A shipwright then swung his sword blade at her, but she jumped into the air and somersaulted.
"He's jumping!"
Then to their shock, she began to jump in midair.
"Moonwalk!" she said.
"What the? She's really flying!"
"Thorny Rose!" she yelled, spinning her whip around, striking all the shipwrights instantly. "I told you you were bested, didn't I?"
She then began running off the roof towards the courtyard.
"Get ready here he comes!"
"He's going to land in the courtyard, don't let them escape!"
"Let's go! Let's get around him; we can track him in there!"
Palmer, meanwhile, had opened the safe and was now holding a scroll of documents.
"This is it," he said.
"Interesting," said a voice behind him.
"All this time, it was literally right under our noses," said a second voice. "Hand it over."
Palmer spun around and saw two men standing beneath the door frame, both wearing masks. One was wearing a mask that resembled a skull, and the other resembled that of a bull.
"You can't possibly understand its importance," said the man in the bull mask.
"Who are you bastards?" said Palmer. "Where the hell did you come from?"
"From the shadows," said the man in the skull mask.
"Yes, from the darkest corners of existence, we bring with us the light of justice. We are Cipher Pol number nine, an undercover intelligence agency."
Palmer tightened his fist. "Well, no matter where you freaks came from you you sure as hell didn't run in here without running into the Galley Law craftsman."
"Perhaps we did," said the man in the bull mask. Palmer's eyes widened when he saw that his hand was covered in blood. "The details are very hazy, a sea of fists and bodies. What's important is that we're here now."
"I get it; this isn't just some assassination plot, is it?" said Palmer.
"Very astute, but then we never claimed that it was now, did we? In any case, we need what Iceberg was trying to keep hidden. The item you hold in your trembling hand now and sends you been made aware of its existence; we need to take your life as well. In entrusting you to this task, Iceberg has signed you're death warrant."
Outside, the shipwrights were still trying to search for Heather and the man in the bear mask, but it was like they both disappeared.
"What's the word? Did you find them?"
"Na-huh, there's no sign of those guys anywhere."
"They get inside?"
"There are men standing guard at every single point of entry. No, there's no way they could have gotten in."
"Damnit, where the hell did they go!"
"They could have gotten far; they've got to be hiding somewhere. Search the perimeter one more time. Got it?"
They all cheered and began their search.
However, unbeknownst to them, Heather and the man in the bear mask had somehow entered the building and were in the room opposite Iceberg.
"Here, he's behind this wall," said Heather.
"Right, now give me a push," said the man in the mask as he turned his back against the wall.
Heather pushed him, and he immediately went right through the wall, almost like she was opening a door.
Iceberg eyes widened when he saw the two of them enter. "Incredible, I had a feeling you would be coming back for me, but I can't believe my eyes. Is this how you came in last night. How is that even possible?"
The man in the bear mask pushed back the wall like he was closing the door, and then both he and Heather began to approach his bed.
"It's the power of the Door-Door Fruit," the man in the bear mask explained. "Where a normal man sees a wall, I see a perspective entryway. No matter how thick it may be, I simply touch it, and it opens for me."
He then pulled out a pistol and shot Iceberg's shoulder, causing him to fall out of bed.
"Hold on, it's not time yet," said Heather.
"Relax, it's not a fatal wound," he assured her. "He will still be able to talk. I'm just giving him a taste of what is to come. Like an appetiser of pain. Once more after that, I don't think he'll be running off anywhere before we get the signal to finish the job or perhaps I should say to serve him the main course."
"I see," Iceberg groaned as he clutched his shoulder. "So that's how CP-9 handles things, huh?"
"As a matter of fact, that is how we do it."
"That poor dragon boy, he had nothing to do with this, did he?" said Iceberg as he lifted himself up.
"There's no need to beat yourself up about it; after all, you simply told the truth exactly as you saw it," said Heather. "And I was indeed here last night."
"That was all part of your plan, wasn't it?"
"Right again," said the man in the bear mask. "You're alive for two reasons, first so that you can tell your story of the failed assassination placing a member of the Dragon Riders crew at the scene of the crime. Secondly, we were trying to ferret out an important document, the blueprints of a certain ship, one that has been passed down in secret from shipwright to chosen apprentice for generations. We knew with your life clearly in danger, you are passed that document onto someone you trust to keep it safe. You made that choice earlier tonight, your foreman Palmer. Our associates are with him at this very moment."
"It's all going as planned, isn't it?" Iceberg glared. "You must be very damn proud of yourselves."
The masked man then looked at Heather. "I want you to see there is to its end."
"Of course," she said.
"I'll go and deal with the riffraff standing guard outside the door," he said as he made his way towards the door. "When the blueprints are secure, our associates will contact you. At that time, you will have full clearance to dispose of Iceberg. Do so at once. Make sure he dies without fail; after that, the only remaining loose end will be Palmer. He dies, and the truth of what happened here dies with him. The blame will remain on the Dragon Riders, and no one is the wiser."
At the same time, Astrid and the others were chasing down the twins, hoping to catch them before they made a mess of things.
"We should have kept a close eye on those two muttonheads," said Astrid. "It was crazy, but I thought for once they would actually stick to our plan."
"We should be used to this by now," said Toothless.
"Hey, guys, do you think that Heather in the middle of all that commotion down at Galley Law?" Chopper asked. "No matter what the twins decided to do, we've got to be careful."
"Yeah, I know," said Astrid. "Let us hope we can catch up with the twins before they do something stupid."
"They already have," Toothless pointed out.
"I mean, I doing something crazy by attacking them in the front entrance," said Astrid.
"Oh, they're definitely going to do that," said Chopper.
"I suppose if they do will only help Hiccup; it will get everyone's attention inside, and he can sneak in without anyone noticing."
"Then you're assuming that Heather was already inside," said Toothless.
"She managed to get inside last night without anyone noticing, didn't she?"
"So are we going to stop the twins are not?" Chopper asked.
"We have to; there's still a lot of shipwrights guarding the front door. It would make much better sense for us to attack from the back where everyone is still divided."
"But you think we can stop them before they get to the front door?" Chopper asked.
They quickly turn round the corner and saw the twins standing in front of a large assortment of shipwrights, all armed to the teeth.
"No, I don't think we can," Astrid groaned.
"Maybe this wasn't our best idea?" said Tuffnut.
"Oh, now you start to use your heads!" Toothless yelled.
