Yeah, I know it's been forever. I'm sorry! But after a long hiatus, both from Supergirl airing and updating this, it's back and so am I! At least for now. I wrote this chapter in a day after not writing these two in a while so I hope everything looks okay. Enjoy!

It was the first Danvers sisters' night since crisis ended. They were cuddled up on the couch together, Kara's head resting on Alex's shoulder as they watched the end of the Wizard of Oz. Kara hadn't really been able to pay attention though. Being so close to Alex, hearing her heart beating strongly; that was the only thing she could focus on.

Alex adjusted her position and laid her own head against Kara's. "This movie will never get old," she commented softly, enjoying the feeling of peace for the first time in a while.

Kara closed her eyes. Wizard of Oz might be her favorite movie, but Alex was her favorite person.

"Are you okay?" Alex finally asked after the movie ended, looking down at her in wonder. "You seem... off."

Kara took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I'm fine, 'guess I'm just tired..."

"Well." Alex flipped the tv off and moved away from her sister.

Kara immediately missed the warmth.

"Maybe that's a cue for me to leave so you can get some rest." The brunette smiled softly and squeezed Kara's shoulder. "Goodnight." She began to stand up but Kara's caught her wrist and held onto it.

"Wait."

Alex settled back next to her and looked her in the eyes. "Yes? Talk to me, Kara, I know something's up."

Tears began to fill Kara's eyes against her will. "I-I..."

"Hey, hey, it's okay," Alex comforted, although she was confused about where this was coming from. "Please don't cry, you don't have to talk if you don't want to."

"I missed you...," Kara finished, salty tears finally making their way down her cheeks. Her heart began beating faster just thinking about everything that happened before now. "I really missed you..."

A pained look crossed her sister's face. She had heard much of what had happened in between the multiverse being destroyed and earth prime coming to be, but she knew that it had been really difficult for Kara and the rest of the heroes. Except for Lex. "Let it out if you need to. I'm here."

"Just... Please don't go...," Kara whispered under her breath, bowing her head and refusing to look her in the face.

Alex chewed on her bottom lip for a moment. Kara hadn't looked this distraught in a while. "Hey, look at me."

The Kryptonian's head slowly raised and bloodshot eyes met gentle brown ones.

"I'm not going anywhere," Alex promised before she kissed her temple, brushed some hair out of Kara's face, and placed another kiss on her forehead. "I've got you. Whatever you need."

Kara's tears turned to heavy sobs. "I was so alone!" She collapsed onto her sister's shoulder and clung to her tightly. "Not literally just... Time didn't pass there, we...I don't know how long we were there, just that I didn't have you or Kal or..."

Alex pulled her close and buried her nose into Kara's hair. "Keep going," she softly encouraged.

"I was one of the seven who was still alive. Everyone else was gone... You were... d-dead and I couldn't..." Kara tried to draw impossibly closer. "I wanted to give up... I was supposed to be the paragon of hope, but I was ready to give up... Pathetic..."

Alex wished she could take the pain away. She wished that things had gone differently. "But I'm here now. You saved the universe, Kara, you did it. It's over."

"But I can't sleep!" Kara exclaimed, leaning back and desperately holding onto Alex's jacket. "Every time I close my eyes, I'm back there, virtually alone. Empty. All hope is lost. And I don't..." She lowered her voice to barely a whisper. "-I don't know what to do..."

The elder Danvers captured both of her hands in her own. "Listen to me. Please."

Kara breathed uneasily and met her gaze.

Alex let go of one of her sister's hands and placed it on her cheek, stroking away a few of her tears. "Has this been going on since earth prime was created?"

Kara nodded slowly.

Alex clenched her jaw for a moment, then sighed. "I'm sorry, Kara. I'm sorry I didn't notice that you were hurting. It's my job to look out for you and I... failed..."

"Alex..."

Her sister only smiled a forced smile. "Hey, how about I stay with you tonight? Would you want that?"

Kara almost couldn't agree quicker. "Yes! If... If you want to..."

Alex laughed a little. "Of course I do. I can't remember the last time we had a Danvers sisters' sleepover."

Kara wanted to laugh too, she wanted to be happy with her sister, but the fear still lingered, and she felt too weak to shake it.

The brunette's smile faded and her expression sobered. She knew helping her sister through this wasn't going to be a walk in a park. "Tell you what. You go change into pajamas, and I'll go back us some tea so we can relax. Is that okay?" She saw Kara's hesitation, so she quickly added, "Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying right here."

"Okay..."

They both stood and went their separate ways, Kara to her bedroom, and Alex to the kitchen.

As Alex was making tea, her mind remained elsewhere. Her little sister spent who knows how long in a place where time didn't pass with the expectation that she was supposed to save the multiverse. She couldn't even imagine the pressure and helplessness she must've felt. Alex looked over at the picture of the two of them Kara kept on her fridge. The director knew that in the end, she was the lucky one because she got to die while the others had to deal with the aftermath. Her dark thoughts paused as Kara came into the kitchen. "Hey." Alex stood up straighter. "Feel any better now that you're more comfortable?"

Kara only shrugged.

Alex looked at the floor. This felt different than Kara dealing with the aftermath of Krypton. She raised her head and opened her arms. "C'mere, Kar."

Kara stepped into her arms and buried her face into Alex's neck. "I'm sorry..."

Alex ran her hand up and down Kara's back and closed her eyes. "For what?"

"For being clingy..."

"No." Alex tightened her grip, wishing that she could make Kara feel it. "I'm here. Don't apologize, I'm not going anywhere."

Kara remained in Alex's arms until the teapot began to whistle, to which she was met with frigid air again when Alex let her go. She watched her sister pour the tea into two mugs and followed her back to the couch. They sat criss-cross next to each other and gently clinked their mugs together.

"As long as we both shall live, these sister nights will never stop," Alex promised earnestly, making sure to make eye contact. "And you will always be able to talk to me about anything, alright?"

Kara smiled slightly and nodded. "Okay..."

Alex leaned kissed her hair. "I love you."

Kara set her mug down, then took Alex's free hand and squeezed it firmly. "I love you too. Thank you, Alex."

Alex squeezed her hand back. "Anytime, Kar."
