Kenickie's POV
I woke to be in my bed, with a throbbing pain headache. "Ugh." I groaned. "What the hell happened?" I saw Sonny walked in my room.
"Hey buddy, how are you feeling?" He asks softly.
I put my hand over my eyes, holding my head as I felt the throbbing pain in my head as I moaned a little.
"What happened?" I asked quietly.
I felt him sit on my bed.
"You got super drunk and I took you home." He told me.
"Did my folks see or no?" I asked.
"Yes they did." He said.
I let out a sigh of frustrated.
"But it's a good thing they did though." He told me.
I looked at him confused as we saw my folks walking in.
"Hey kiddo." My dad said as my mom set a cup of coffee on my nightstand. "How are you feeling?"
"Well I have a headache." I replied.
"Oh baby, we're so sorry." My mom cried as she held me in her arms.
I was super confused.
"Ok, what is going on?" I asked as my mom let go of me.
"After Sonny brought you home, we listened on you and Sonny as he was trying to get you to bed…and you told him everything how you were feeling." Dad said.
"Oh." I quietly mutters.
"But what broke our hearts when you said that you blame yourself for being born because you thought you were the reason why we fight all the time." Mom finished as she kissed my forehead.
I looked down, trying to remember what happened.
"I'll be downstairs." Sonny said leaving the room.
My dad sat across from me.
"Son…" He started. "We are….so, so, so sorry…" I looked up at him. "We never meant to make you or Katelyn suffer."
I looked down again.
"Kiddo," I heard him says. "You or your sister were never, ever the reason your mother and I fight all the time."
"It's true baby." My mom spoke.
I looked over at her to see tears well up in her eyes.
"You should always remember how much your mother and I love you both no matter what." Dad adds. "When we had you kids, it was the best days of our lives." He finished with a smile.
"And…Sonny told us that you brought Marriage Counseling Brochure when you were only 10 years old." Mom adds.
I looked over at her.
"Yeah." I spoke. "I was…a-a…ya know."
"Afraid?" Dad asked.
I nodded.
"Why son?" He asks again.
"Because…" I started. "I just…I didn't wanna break you guys apart even more…and I…I just wanted to be happy like Putzie and his parents, Doody and his parents."
I felt my mom gently touched my cheek.
"Oh my sweet baby." She said sadly. "We are so sorry."
"So that is why we're gonna go and make our marriage work again." My dad with a smile, as he rubs my shoulder a little.
"Beside, Sonny did told us that when you went to his house few months ago that you cried while trying to sleep." Mom told me.
I looked over at her in shocked.
"No I didn't?" I lied. "I'm Kenickie, men don't cry. Right dad!"
"Son." My dad said giving me the look.
I let out a sigh.
"Ok, I did." I admitted. "But that was because I was so fed up with everything."
"Baby, we are so, so, so terribly sorry that we've made you and Katelyn sad and scared." Mom said kissing me in the forehead. "We've never meant to pushed you two away."
"Yeah, we don't blame you kids if you don't forgive us." Dad adds.
I looked up at him.
"Why would you say that?" I asked as I stood up. "Mom, dad, I'll always forgive you cause you're my parents…me and Katelyn love you guys so much."
I hugged them as they hugged me back.
"We love you too, boy." Dad said patting my back.
I let go of them.
"So when will you guys start?" I asked.
"Monday at 5pm." Mom answers.
"Good." I smiled.
We heard a sniffs behind the crack of the door.
"Get in here LaTierri." I said with a smirk.
Sonny slowly came in, trying to look cool.
"I was…I was just…checking in." He says. "Not crying."
"Thank you Martin." Mom said giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"It's no problem Aunt Kathleen." Sonny said. "Anything for my family."
We smiled at him.
"We're gonna spend a day together." Mom said to us.
Mom and dad both smiled at each other, making me happy again.
"So we'll be home late." Dad winked making me laughed.
"Dear, not in front of the boys." Mom says as I looked over at Sonny who chuckled. "Alright, we'll see you boys later."
"Bye." I waved.
"Right this way m'lady." My dad said to my mom.
"Why thank you, you kind gentleman." Mom smiled.
I smiled as they walked out of the room and I looked at Sonny.
"Sonny," I started as he looked over at me. "Thanks."
He pats my arms.
"Anytime bro." He smiled.
We hugged, I know we're greasers but like I mention we're all like brothers.
