Obviously, there are going to be consequences to Goh's actions. I won't spoil what happens yet though, for now just enjoy the ensuing chaos.
"Up and at em! Let's go! Move it move it move!" Goh barked, barging into Ash and Chloe's cabin.
"Ever hear of privacy!" Ash shouted.
"You're on my time Princess! Let's go already!" Goh shouted re exiting the room.
"That's not going to get old quick." Ash commented. "I'll shower then we'll switch rooms."
"Mmmhmm." Chloe said from her pillow.
A while later
"That's what you're choosing to wear?" Goh commented.
"What's wrong with this? We're in Hoenn, and I saw your research, we're going to the middle of the ocean, these are good clothes for it." Ash said.
He was wearing a white and blue tank top, with a pair of white shorts, and some strapy sandals.
"He's talking about these." Chloe said, wearing a ridiculously heavy jacket.
"I thought you were joking about those." Ash said, laughing. "Goh, that's impractical for this weather.
"We're a team, those jackets signify us as a team." Goh stated. "Where's yours?"
"Back in the lab, because I'm not crazy." Ash said. "I could ask the same of you."
"I'm wearing mine. See?" Goh said, showing his vest with the same logo as Chloe's coat on the back.
"So you get a nice cool vest, while we get winter coats?" Ash said.
"Hey, you'll thank me when it's cold out Princess. Next time bring it." Goh said angrily.
"Oh I'll bring it." Ash said annoyed. "And Chloe take that off before you get a heat stroke." Ash said grabbing her coat.
"Goh won't like this." Chloe said.
"Good, the worst he can do is report us for being safe." Ash said annoyed. "Did you bring the empty pokeballs?"
"Yes, but why?" Chloe asked.
"I want you to catch Regice, I'll do exactly as Goh asked and be a distraction, while you make the move." Ash said. "Before you ask, who cares. If we come back with another Regi we come back with another Regi whether it's yours, mine, or Goh's.
"Okay." Chloe said.
At the beach, west of Petalburg
" I see you've decided against the team uniform as well Chloe. I can only imagine this is your doing Ashley." Goh spat in his face.
Ash pantomimed zipping his mouth once again.
"Good, next time keep it shut. We travel by water. Let's go." Goh commanded, sending out Dewgong.
"Lumineon! I choose you!"
"Let's go Dragonite!"
"I said we're traveling by water." Goh said angrily.
"Fine, Dragonite, we're swimming." Ash said, getting on Dragonite's back.
Dragonite got a running start before taking a leap into the water, drenching Goh in the process.
"Sorry captain, won't happen again." Ash said sweetly.
"For your sake it better not." Goh said through gritted teeth.
After heading south for a bit Goh shouted for them to turn down a side area.
"If your research is correct Chloe, Regice should be right around here." Goh said.
"Your research?" Ash whispered.
"It always is until it's proven fact." Chloe replied.
"Enough chit chat, let's find it." Goh ordered.
After a bit of searching, Ash saw some Magikarp swim out from underneath the island.
"Where did they come from?" Ash asked no one in particular. Taking off his shoes, and dropping his bag, Ash dove into the water with Pikachu.
"Ashley have you found anything or do I have to do all the work myslef!" Goh shouted, turning to find only Ash's things on the beach. "You just made the wrong move Ashley."
Inside the cave
"This is crazy." Ash said in shock. There was an underwater passage that led him to the inside of a cave. "What's that?" Ash said pulling up his phone and taking a picture of the crystal like object in the wall. "Is that ice?" Ash said, touching the cold surface.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted, pushing Ash out of the way, as an ice beam fired through the crystal at where Ash was. Shortly after Regice walked out through the ice.
"Pikachu break the wall with Iron Tail!" Ash said pointing to the now frozen rocks.
"Goh I don't think Ash left." Chloe said.
"It's what she does best! We don't need her anyways!" Goh shouted.
"So you think Ash and Pikachu just up and left without their Pokémon?" Chloe asked.
"Wouldn't surprise me." Goh said, as the rocks shattered behind him.
"Sorry!" Ash yelled as the dust cleared. "I found Regice!"
"Do your job!" Goh shouted getting up. "Cinderace let's go! Use Pyro Ball!"
"Ponyta use Confusion!"
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"What are you doing!?" Goh shouted.
"Getting its attention!" Ash shouted.
"Do it without attacking it!" Goh shouted.
"Fine! Hey Regice, you're it!" Ash said leaping over Regice, before tagging it.
It was a childish idea, but it worked. Regic was now following Ash and Pikachu.
"Cinderace use Pyro Ball!"
"Ponyta use Stomp!"
An Ice Beam was fired back at Goh and Cinderace.
"I said to keep it distracted! So keep it distracted!" Goh shouted. "Cinderace use Blaze Kick!"
"Pikachu use Discharge!"
Electricity flew out hitting both Cinderace and Regice.
"Now!" Ash yelled.
"Pokeball go!" Chloe shouted throwing the pokeball.
"Regice!"
An ice beam shot out shattering the pokeball. Regice quickly turned and zoomed back into the block of ice.
"Never disobey my commands again!" Goh shouted in Ash's face. "We had him!"
"No we didn't. You didn't co ordinate us properly, so that it couldn't get away." Ash said calmly.
"Look Ashley!" Goh said stabbing a finger at Ash. "You're solely responsible for him getting away, my plan would have worked fine if you listened."
"It's Ash, and you know it." Ash said, keeping a level head.
"This will be in my report. You'll be lucky to have another mission." Goh said, leaving the cave. "Let's go, nothing left here for us."
"I'm sorry Ash." Chloe said.
"It's not your fault, we win some, we lose some." Ash said. "I just fear the worst is yet to come for me."
Back at the lab
"Ash, how is it that the things you did wrong is a bigger folder than the mission report itself?" Professor Cerise asked.
"Goh's out of control, I did what I felt was right." Ash said, not looking away from his book.
"Goh's the leader on the field work right now, you have to understand that." Professor Cerise explained.
"I do, but I still think the powers gone to his head." Ash said. "Have you ever heard about Regice being able to teleport?"
"Did you say teleport?" Professor Cerise asked.
"Take a look at this photo. That block of ice, Regice both came through and exited into. I need some time to look into it, but that might be the key to finding and catching it." Ash said.
"I hate to admit it, but your gut usually isn't wrong about these kinds of things." Professor Cerise said.
"So you think he's gone a bit too far too." Ash said.
"I've had my suspicions, but I don't want to act rashly until I can see it for myself. Just try and work with him next time, and if he's still a problem, we'll figure things out from there." Professor Cerise said, giving Ash a comforting hug.
"Umm Professor?" Ash said, very weirded out.
"Sorry, for a moment there, it felt like I was talking to Chloe when she had problems, and went to me for them." Professor Cerise admitted.
"I'm sorry." Ash said.
"It's not your fault, none of this is. They've grown a lot while you've been gone, and things have just changed." Professor Cerise said with a smile.
