Chapter:30 The Strength of Bonds
Its is now morning in Menagerie as Blake, Sun, Drago, David, John, and Charles are on the steps of the Belladonna Family Home, all of them each holding a Scroll.
"Thanks again for helping us," Sun said.
"No problem, we are glad to help you guys," David said as his three other friends look at him.
"Because you won't stop annoy us till we agreed," Charles said as David sheepishly rub the back of his head.
"Okay, everyone ready?" Blake asked.
"I beat up on giant monsters and robots more than once, I think I can handle getting a few signatures," Sun confidently said.
"This is propaganda kid, especially a place where almost all of the populous are immigrants," Charles said as John elbowed him for dampening the mood.
Blake smiled at this she and the others are now starting the new campaign for the New White Fang, they all went to multiple people asking them to join the new campaign for Faunus, but they were disappointed that no one even want to join. Sun and David do many things to get some people to join, but it wasn't working either.
All in all, not a single progress is even done.
After that, all of them are sitting at a nearby table drinking from coconut cups.
Sun slam his cup down in frustration and said, "I don't get it! How can they just sit around and do nothing with the White Fang getting ready to attack?!"
"Because not everyone is like you and me. The Faunus here in Menagerie - the ones that weren't born on the island - moved here because they were tired of fighting, of having to struggle constantly. Menagerie is filled with people that just want to be left alone," Blake said as she then scoff. "And here we are, asking them to put the rest of the world before themselves."
"That's the thing about immigrants, they go somewhere to escape their problems till something ruins it," Charles said as he slowly drink his coconut.
"I guess I never really thought about it like that," Sun said in understanding.
"You'll get used to it buddy," David said as he pat the Monkey Faunus on the back.
"The problem is, whatever happens at Haven is going to affect them whether they like it or not. If Adam gets his way and Haven falls, it's only going to make things worse for the Faunus. Everywhere," Blake finished it solemnly as Sun look at her.
"Adam... He's the guy you used to... work with?" Sun asked as John elbowed him on his shoulder and Sun then felt bad. "Sorry about bringing it up."
"No, it's okay," Blake said as she was silent for a moment then sighs. "Have you ever met someone and thought to yourself, "They are the personification of this word.""
Sun look confused as he rub the back of his head.
"She means what kind of personality they have that makes their character," Drago said as Sun nods in acknowledgement.
"Okay, well, I remember getting to know Ruby and thinking, "This girl is the embodiment of "purity"." After a while, I saw Weiss was "defiance". And Yang was "strength"."
"What am I?" Sun asked as Blake smiled.
"Jury's still out on that one, but I'm leaning towards "earnest"," Blake said as Sun wraps his tail around his cup and takes a sip from it, before leaning on his hand affectionately. Blake giggles and smiles for bit, before frowning as she continues. "At first I thought Adam was "justice", then I thought he was "passion". But over time, I realized I was wrong. He wasn't any of those things. He was "spite". Not "hatred", not "rage", "spite". He won't accept equality, only suffering for what he feels the world did to him, and his way of thinking is dangerously contagious. That's what worries me about Ilia. She's not like Adam, not yet at least, but I don't know how long that will last."
"You can't let go of that hate for long, that is the thing of life," Charles said as Sun continued to look at Blake.
"She was your friend, huh?" Sun asked.
"She was. Her chameleon traits meant she could pass as human. She could've lived a normal life if she wanted, but she didn't. I always admired that. She lost her family in a mining accident when she was young, then she joined the White Fang. Like me, she was more or less trained on the road alongside other Faunus. She learned to survive, to defend herself, but as people like Sienna and Adam started to gain a following, she became more dangerous. I guess I did too. My parents tried to get me to leave with them, but I refused. I had Adam and Ilia, after all," Blake said.
"You know we're gonna have to face her eventually," Sun said.
"It is quite inevitable," John said.
"I know," Blake said.
"So what are you gonna do?" David asked.
"I'm going to try and help her the way you helped me," Blake said to Sun as the Monkey Faunus is surprised at her response. "You showed me that sometimes you need to be there for a friend even when they don't want you to be. I was drowning in guilt and fear, I tried to push you away, but you didn't give up on me. And I can't give up on Ilia. It's about time I saved my friends for once."
Sun smiles at her response.
"Ahem," All of six of them slightly jump as they look around and saw the same old Turtle Faunus from the propaganda yesterday.
"Uh yes?" Drago asked.
"Now I got all of your attention, I heard quite a bit of your commotion and I think I have the questions you need," The old man said as everyone blink and look at each other.
Blake then look at the old man and asked, "Just who are you?"
The old Turtle Faunus chuckled at their confusion and said, "Let's just I'm just a very wise old man that wanted to help."
Back in Mistral, Oscar is in a training room with U. Pichu while wielding The Long Memory. As he pants from exhaustion, he hears a voice enter the room.
"You're really getting better, huh?" Ruby's voice called out to him as she walk down the stair. "Are you hungry? It's almost dinnertime."
"Uh, yeah. That sounds good. I was about to call it a night anyway," Oscar said.
"So, you've never fought before?" Ruby asked.
"Just the occasional small Grimm. Nothing like this, though," Oscar said as U. Pichu ran up to his shoulder.
"Wow," Ruby commented as she giggled. "You look like a natural."
"It's strange, I have only had this cane for a few weeks, but... I feel like I've had it for a lifetime. Longer, even," Oscar said till he paused. "I sound like a crazy person."
"I mean, uh, yeah just a little. But at this pace, you'll be combat ready in no time!" Ruby encouraged him but suddenly frowns upon mentioning her last phrase. Oscar notices this and tries to ask a question before Ruby interrupts him.
"Well, see you upstairs," Ruby said as she was about to leave till Oscar stopped her.
"How do you handle all of this?" Oscar asked as Ruby faced him.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm... scared," Oscar said as his voice began to crack. "I'm more scared than I've ever been in my life, than I ever thought was possible."
Oscar then walk over to the weapon rack as he put his cane on it and continued, "I always knew that I wanted to be more than a farmhand, but this? Who would ask for this?"
He glances down at the floor as a tear drips from his eye. He sniffles before kneeling to the floor to reach his backpack. He grabs the cane off the rack and pulls the lever on the handle to compact it before putting it in his backpack. U. Pichu quickly cuddled his head to ease him up which slightly worked.
"We all went to Beacon because we wanted to help people. But, you're right. None of us asked for this either. We just have to press on and--"
"How can you be so confident?!" Oscar cut her off which shocked her. "People have tried to kill you! The world's about to go to war all over again! How are you okay with any of this?!!"
Ruby then frown and said, "When Beacon fell, I almost lose three of my friends: Penny, Pyrrha, and Vic. I didn't know them for very long, but that doesn't change the fact that they were three of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met. If I haven't acted right away, I would almost lose them but they didn't because we have a strong bond."
"Bond?" Oscar asked in confusion.
"It all started with Vic," Ruby began explaining. "When we met and introduced his Pokemons. He was like the glue that kept us together, he wouldn't let us stray or break our friendship, he pretty much put us first before himself. His bond with us is like strength for him, so we think of it as well. We didn't leave each other behind nor we betray each other because it is our pillar of strength. While my team isn't complete, it doesn't mean that we are always apart."
'She has a point Oscar. While it is confusing, clinging something like a bond is something weak yet powerful at the same time. People with just bigger wills fully understand,' Ozpin said throigh their link as Oscar was still scared but fully understands.
"I... I understand," Oscar said as Ruby smiled.
"Its okay to be scared, being scared is not a weakness, but a way to improve. I learn it during my days in Beacon, not by a Professor but a friend, and you need one of them too," Ruby said as Oscar walk up next to her and both shared a smile with each other. Ruby wipes tears coming from her eyes with her arm.
Ruby then put a hand on Oscar's shoulder and said, "C'mon, if we don't hurry, Nora's gonna eat everything. It wouldn't be the first time."
Ruby begins to leave the room as Oscar lingers for a bit.
"Hey, Oscar? This isn't gonna be easy, but the fact that you're even trying says a lot about you. You're braver than you think," Ruby said as she continued to walk upstairs and leave Oscar alone with U. Pichu.
'She really is remarkable, isn't she?' Ozpin said.
'Yeah. She must've been one of the best Huntresses at Beacon, huh?' Oscar said as Ozpin chuckled.
'In some ways, yes. But in many others... no. She has her quirks, her faults, just like everyone else. But she also possesses something unquantifiable: a spark, that can inspire others even in the darkest of times,' The older man said.
'This must be really hard on her too.'
'It most assuredly is.'
Oscar then ended their conversation as he then saw U. Pichu having a teasing smile, "What?"
U. Pichu then strum a romantic tone with his instrument which made Oscar blush.
"It's not like that!" Oscar yelled at the instrument using Pokemon as U. Pichu laugh and quickly jump off so she could join everyone upstairs.
Oscar just shook his head as he also walk up the stairs but with a simple thought.
'It's probably nothing right?'
Back in Menagerie, Blake, Sun, and Randy's Pokemon turned Faunuses followed the old Turtle Faunus through the forest near the settlement as they are getting annoyed with the shrubbery.
"Are we there yet?" Sun asked as he had to smack a branch away so it won't hit him.
"We are almost there so don't worry, I am serious this time," The old man said as he just smack away the shrubbery with his cane.
"You better be," Charles said as leaves keep getting stuck on his cape.
"Ah here we are," The old man said which made everyone perk as they look forward to see a small cottage by the distance.
They continued their trek till they entered the cottage and saw many old relics that intrigues them.
"Get yourselves comfortable over there while I go get something," The old man said as he went inside one of the rooms in the cottage while the rest sat down on some cushions near a coffee table in the living room.
"Whoa check that out," Sun said as he points to a pair of dusty bazookas connected to a tank.
"What do you think is that?" Blake asked.
"We're not so sure," Drago said as he and everyone of his friends look around the room till the old man came back with a rather large book.
"Ah thank you for everything," The old man said as he walk over to them.
"Anyways, you didn't told us your name," David said as the old man smack his head for forgetting that.
"Oh silly me, old age really took a toll on me. Anyways, my name is Taihou. Your ordinary war veteran hermit," The now named Taihou introduced which made everyone in the room look at him in shock.
"What war are you talking about?" Blake asked.
"The Great War of course," Taihou said which shocked everyone even more.
"That was eighty years ago," John pointed out which made Taihou chuckle.
"One good aspect of being part turtle, I am 140 years old after all," Taihou said which shock everyone pass the possible level, and made him laugh. "Now now, we should probably focus on why I guide you here."
Everyone slowly recompose themselves as Taihou sat by them.
"What are you gonna tell us?" Drago asked.
"Our history of course, the beginning of all Faunus," Taihou said as everyone were now intrigued.
"Okay we are listening," Charles said as he crossed his arms.
"Very well then," The Turtle Faunus then open the book and began reading. "Long ago, during the time where tales of world were told, the time where there are two gods ruled the world of Remnant: The God of Light and the God of Darkness. During this time, the two brothers tested man to see if they saw fit till one of them rebels and lied to everyone the gods, and rallied towards the older brother's domain with powers they have gained with the one who started the mob. They tried to fight the God of Darkness with this power but they all fail which made the Brother Gods disappointed to their "failure", and the God of Darkness destroyed every single human on the planet then left while destroying the moon in the process."
"But those are just tales," Blake said till Taihou raised his hand.
"I wasn't finished yet young lady," Taihou said as he cleared his throat and continued. "Now where was I?"
"Where the Brother Gods left the planet," Sun said.
"Ah yes. After their departure, humanity slowly rise again while Dust emerges. Yet Faunus didn't appear in Remnant, not yet at least."
"What do you mean by that?" David asked as Taihou laughed.
"You think that Faunuses just appear like a snap of a finger. No!" Taihou said as he then grew serious. "Now let me continue!"
Everyone quickly shut up to not make the old man angrier.
Taihou then coughs and continues reading, "Slowly humanity began to rise till something happened during it. Another set of deities came to our planet that is lead by their leader: the great Arceus!"
Everyone instantly look in shock while David and Sun has their jaws drop.
"What!!" All of them shouted in shock while Taihou laugh at their faces.
"This is the truth! The God of Pokemon himself came to Remnant along with his companions as they help the world thrive. They help shape the world that help humanity in the long run, but their entrance to this world made other Pokemons travel here as well. The sudden opening between worlds brought other Pokemons to this world eventually some began to change to the Faunus we know today," Taihou said as he closed the book and look at the still shock faces of everyone.
"This... This takes a lot to take in," Charles said.
"But why do we just have normal animal traits?" Sun said as Taihou have a solemn look on his face.
"Because our ancestors were powerful, too powerful in fact that Arceus sealed their powerful lineage in their blood and replaced them with the weaker animal ones, but some still retains them by luck. We were once the strongest till we eventually become what we are today," Everyone felt saddened by this as they gave their respects by bowing.
"So where are the others?" Drago asked.
"Hiding in isolation, having there own family, or being a simple hermit just like me," Taihou said as he lay the book down on the table.
"So you are one of us?" David asked.
Taihou then nods and said, "I was but I am getting to old to fight again."
"Then we appreciate your help," Blake said as she stood up, clasp her hands, and bowed. "Thank you for your hospitality."
The others followed suite and bowed for Taihou as he chuckled at them.
"Its my pleasure so run along now, I think you might have a tight schedule tomorrow right?" Taihou said as Blake nods as everyone began to leave.
As they finally left, Taihou slowly stood up as he walk to his kitchen to prepare some tea till he heard knocking on the door.
"Who is it!" Taihou called out as he watch the teapot boiling.
"It's me!" A familiar female called out on the opposite side of the door as Taihou perk up and walk over to the door.
The Turtle Faunus then opened the door and smiled to who it was. "Hello Sienna."
Outside is Sienna herself with a cloak covering herself.
"So you told them then?" Sienna asked as Taihou nods. "Then I hope her mother have some explaining to do."
"Ah yes she does. Since you are here, do you want some tea?" Taihou asked.
"It would be my pleasure," Sienna said as the two of them entered the room.
Back in Mistral, it is currently raining outside as Qrow opens up a sliding door leading into a small restaurant. A man can be seen sleeping at a table in the corner, while the Ramen Shop Owner stands behind the counter sharpening his kitchen knife on a wood block. Qrow walks up to the owner, who is still paying attention to sharpening his knife.
"Regular? Or the Special?" The owner asked.
"I'm actually looking for someone, goes by the name Shiro Wan. Ever heard of him? I heard he's a regular around here," Qrow said.
"Who's asking?"
"Hey, I'm not some cop if that's what you mean. I need Shiro for a gig. We go way back," Qrow said as the owner nods.
"Way back, huh?" The owner then look at Qrow. "So, he's a friend of yours."
Qrow rub his chin and said, "Hm, yeah, I'd say so. He's a pretty alright guy."
"Well, in that case..." Suddenly the owner pointed his knife at the drunkard and said in a threatening tone. "You tell that jerk that he better not show his ugly face in here until he pays me the Lien he owes me!!"
Qrow was taken back by this as he nervously chuckles, "Uh, did I say friend? I, uh- I meant acquaintance."
But the owner angrily slams his knife into the counter as Qrow slowly walks away.
"Really, we're just colleagues!" Qrow said as he continued to nervously laugh. "Anyways, thanks for your time, buddy. I'll just be taking off now."
Qrow exits the restaurant, quickly closing the sliding door. He quickly turns around, leaning against the door. He takes a drink from his flask before pulling out hisscroll, which has a list of "CONTACTS" with multiple names on it. He crosses off Shiro's name and sighs.
"Great start," Qrow said as suddenly, the owner's knife is stabbed through the door cloth, barely missing Qrow's head.
Qrow then walks up to several people asking if they know any of the Huntsmen on his list; first, a pair of two men standing on the rainy street. Next, to a one-eyed, blonde blacksmith selling her wares. Then, he seeks the help of a beat-up man filled with bruises, resting while two other men are currently fighting in a match. After every person he asks, Qrow's expression and body language grows more aggravated, and each time, the number of Huntsmen he crosses off the list increases.
Finally, he walks up to a small house with boarded-up windows. He looks at his Scroll for his two remaining contacts, the first of which had been crossed out.
Fiorenza, Shani
Shields, Heather
"Heather Shields," Qrow muttered as he knocks on the door. A group of small children is seen near the house. After Qrow turns around from looking at them, since there's been no response, he bangs it loudly with the side of his fist. As he's about to bang on the door again, a man opens up the door.
"Oh, uh, hey there. I'm looking for Heather?" Qrow asked but only got a stare by him. "Look, pal, I've had a rough day. Do you know where she is or not?"
"Daddy?" Suddenly, a small walk up by the man. "Does he know where Mommy is?"
Qrow immediately regrets his mistake and said, "I um... I'm sorry to bother you."
The man and his daughter go back into their house. Qrow walks back out into the rain. He removes his flask from his shirt and considers taking another drink from it, but decides not to.
At the park, he looks up at the Mistral Bounty mission boards, with people being out on missions for weeks now which worried Qrow.
He scanned through the names and crossed the names that is on his Scroll, and continued looking down till he saw it.
Wan, Shiro - Mission Type: Search and Destroy
Mission Status: In Progress 5 Weeks Ago
Qrow sighs and takes a seat on a nearby bench, realizing that all of his contacts, let alone many others on the mission board, were nowhere to be found.
After a while, Qrow goes back into the restaurant from earlier. The owner has more wood carvings on his counter now. He notices Qrow walk in.
"You've got a lot of nerve showing up back here, unless you've brought that idiot with you," The owner said.
"How much did Shiro owe you?" Qrow asked as the owner noticed the solemn look on his face.
"Well, I'd say about... 16,000 Lien," The owner said as Qrow then tosses a Lien note, which clatters softly on the surface of the bar. "Wait, what? Man, you must be in some serious trouble with him if you're paying me off."
"His name is clear," Qrow said as the owner frowned.
"Yeah," The owner said as Qrow starts to leave again, and the owner returns to his carving. "That idiot..."
Qrow opens the door and said, "Yeah..."
At the Branwen Tribe camp,Vernal pours cups of tea for Raven, Yang, and Weiss. They are all inside Raven's tent with the latter three seated around a table.
"You can wait outside. Thank you," Raven said to Vernal as the tanned girl quickly did so.
"So, what's the "truth"?" Yang asked as Raven took a sip from her cup.
"You know, it's better when it's hot."
"You know, you're really obnoxious," Weiss said.
"The truth is that "truth" is hard to come by. A story of victory for one person is a story of defeat for someone else. By now, your uncle has surely told Ruby and her friends plenty of stories," Raven said.
"Well, he's never given me a reason to doubt him before," Yang said in defense.
"That doesn't mean those reasons don't exist," Raven said as her daughter glared at her. "You know, you and your teammates might as well be the poster children for the Huntsman Academies. Your motives vary, but you all enrolled to try and make the world a better place. It's adorable."
"It's what Huntsmen and Huntresses do," Yang said to continue her defense.
"Not all of them. Some people are just in it for the money and the fame, but there's even more that are just looking to grow stronger. Your Uncle Qrow and I didn't attend Beacon to become Huntsmen, we did it to learn how to kill Huntsmen," Raven drop the bomb on them as Yang and Weiss gasp at this, exchanging a brief look with each other. "Daddy and Uncle left that part out, hm?"
Raven then poured more tea for herself and continued, "Aside from the Grimm, Huntsmen were the only ones capable of ruining our raids and hunting us down. Our tribe needed a counterforce. And Qrow and I were the perfect age."
She then stood up from her seat to tower the two teens, "The entrance exams were child's play compared to what we'd already been through. We were good. So good, that we caught the attention of Beacon's very own Headmaster ,Professor Ozpin. Even after we were put on a team, I could tell he was keeping his eye on us. Back then, I thought it was because he knew, but it was Team STRQ he was interested in."
"What do you mean by that?" Yang asked.
"Constant attention, extra training missions, turning a blind eye whenever we happened to break the rules and get into more trouble than we should've. Sound familiar?" Raven said as Yang and Weiss share another glance at each other. Weiss gestures Yang to keep going.
"What's your point?" Yang said.
"How much do you know about Professor Ozpin? About his past?" Raven asked.
"He was... a prodigy. One of the youngest headmasters to be appointed to a school," Weiss said.
"Because that's how he planned it. Because the man you know as Ozpin designed those schools and has followers inside every academy on Remnant that are loyal to him and no one else," Raven explained but the two weren't so convinced.
"That doesn't make any sense! How could he have...? No. Why would someone even do that?" Yang questioned.
"Because old man Oz has a great and terrible secret. One that could spread fear across the world. One that he eventually entrusted to our team, and once I knew, there was no going back. I needed to know more, but with every new discovery I made, the more horrifying the world became."
"Okay, then tell us. What's the big secret? What's so crazy that the rest of us don't know?" Yang said.
"The Creatures of Grimm... have a master named Salem. She can't be stopped, she can't be reasoned with, and she will not rest until Humanity crumbles at her feet," Raven said as Weiss and Yang's eyes widen more and more. They sit in silence.
"What?" Weiss said numbly.
"You know, you two haven't even touched your tea," Raven said as she takes another sip from her teacup, while Yang stands up.
"Now you're catching on. So far you've done nothing but accept what others tell you," Raven said as she put down her cup. "But you need to question everything."
The two stare at each other face to face, before Raven turns around.
"Otherwise you'll end up just as blind as Qrow..." Yang grits her teeth, and her eyes narrow, seething. "... and your fool of a father."
A shot from Ember Celicais heard, destroying the table. Raven's empty teacup clatters across the floor, stopping when it hits the heel of her boot. Raven looks toward Yang, faintly smiling. Yang's eyes have turned red.
"Don't you dare talk about my family like that!" Yang said in defiance as Weiss stares up at her wide-eyed and flinches when she raises her voice for emphasis. A weapon is heard being drawn at Yang.
"You need to calm down," She heard Vernal's voice as the young bandit was behind her.
Weiss hold Yang's hand and said, "Yang, please."
"Listen to your friend, Yang. Your teammates never let you down before," Raven said.
"You don't know the first thing about my teammates! About me! You were never there! You LEFT US!!" Yang yelled in anger as her eyes turn back to normal and lowered her head in sadness. "Why?!"
"I know more than you realize. Not just about you, and not just what I've been told, but things I've seen with my own eyes. I know the Grimm have a leader, I know people who can come back from the dead, I know that magic is real, and I can prove it," Raven said.
Weiss stood up as Raven continued talking to her daughter.
"You said Tai told you all about my Semblance," Raven said as Vernal lowers her weapon while Raven heads toward the back exit of her tent. "Well, I doubt he ever told you what Oz did to my brother and me."
Raven then exits her tent. Yang and Weiss exchange confused looks.
"Go see for yourself," Vernal said as she leaves. Yang and Weiss take her advice and exit the tent. They see no one there.
"Mom?" Yang said to see if her mother was around.
"Yang, are you okay?" Weiss asked.
"I'll be fine once we can get her to take us to Ruby," Yang said as Weiss relents while Yang continues to look around.
"It's okay if... you're not okay," Weiss said.
"You didn't believe what she said, right?" Yang asked.
"I... of course not. Well, not all of it. It was crazy. We have Dust, Semblances... But, I mean, there's no such thing as magic," Weiss said.
Just then, the two hear a bird caw. They watch it fly in front of them.
"A raven?" Weiss said as she look at the black bird in confusion.
"I've... seen that bird before," Yang said.
"Maybe it belongs to your mom?" Weiss said as the two continue to watch the raven fly in the dusk-colored sky. It descends, flying and weaving between the trees, before shapeshifting into Raven herself. Raven lands back on the ground on her feet, while Yang and Weiss have shocked expressions as she stands back up.
"How... did you do that?" Yang asked in shock.
"Well, I could explain it to you..." Raven said as she then drawsher sword, slashing behind her, creating a portal with her Semblance. "... or you could ask your uncle."
"You're letting us go?" Yang questioned.
"I'm giving you a choice," Raven then sheathes her sword and continued. "Stay here, with me, and I'll answer all your questions and more. We can have a fresh start."
Yang glared when she said that.
"Or..." Raven then steps to the side of her portal. "you can go back to Qrow and join Ozpin's impossible war against Salem, and meet the same fate as so many others. But can you really go back to trusting someone that's kept so much from you?"
Weiss reacts timidly, while Yang just glares at her mother.
"All I care about is making sure my sister is safe," Yang said as Raven was dissatisfied from her response.
Yang and Weiss are then shown riding on Bumblebee. However, before they can enter the portal, Raven addresses her daughter one more time.
"Yang. If you side with your uncle, I may not be as kind the next time we meet..." Raven said as Weiss rolls her eyes and looks ahead.
"You weren't kind this time either," Yang said as she and Weiss proceed through the portal on Bumblebee. The portal then disappears.
"I know," Raven could only say as she look at the spot where her daughter and her friend left.
Unbeknownst to her, Temari quickly flew off while catching the fourth party watching and flew off with it.
Back at the house Ruby and Team JNPR is staying at, each of the members are helping prepare dinner: Ruby and Ren are cooking at the stove, Jaune and Pyrrha are setting up the table, and Nora is cutting carrots, occasionally eating slices.
"Alright, the first batch is just about done," Ren said.
"Awesome! Now we just need Qrow and we'll be all set," Ruby happily said while Nora still keeps eating the carrots.
"Do you really think he's gonna bring that many people? This is a lot of food," Nora said as she took another one.
"Uh, I don't know, but it sounds like we could use all the help we can get," Ruby said.
"I'm back!" They then Qrow's voice calling out to them.
"Be right there!" Ruby shouted back.
"You're going to overcook that," Ren said to her.
"No I'm not, shut up!" Ruby quickly denies it.
"Hey, uh, Ruby?" Qrow kept calling out to her.
"I'm coming!" Ruby quickly called back till some smoke comes from the pan Ruby is cooking with. She then said to Ren, "Fine! You take over."
Ruby grabs the tea tray and heads to the living room while Ren helps cook the pan.
Ruby continued while looking at the tray and said, "So, we didn't know how many people were coming, so we just cooked all of it."
She looks up, and gasps as she drops the tea tray and its contents, which shatter on the floor. She stares in disbelief at the sight of not only Qrow, but of her older sister Yang and teammate Weiss. Yang approaches her little sister.
"Yang, I... I'm so sorry! I- I should've stayed, and I should've talked to you more! I'd-- I just..." Rubg said as her voice began to crack while tears start pouring from her eyes. "I wasn't sure if you wanted me around and--"
Suddenly, her big sister gives her a strong hug. Ruby's lips quiver, and she looks toward her sister.
"I love you," Yang said to her as tears streams down her eyes.
Ruby sobs as she leans into her sister's hug and said, "I love you too."
Jaune, Ren, Pyrrha, and Nora enter the room, smiling at the sight of the two sisters embracing each other. Qrow smiles as well. Oscar and U. Pichu enters the room.
"Uh..." He was about to say something till he looks up, seeing Ruby and Yang hugging, and smiles. Weiss smiles as she wipes a tear from her eye, before frowning while looking down.
"Weiss," Ruby said as Weiss looks up, and sees the two sisters open their arms up for her. She smiles and eagerly joins them in their hug. Everyone smiles as they watch three of the four Team RWBY members embrace each other peacefully.
BANG!! Till someone quickly barge in the building as they look towards the door, with the three members of Team RWBY got annoyed by this, and saw who it was.
It was young male teen with a slightly muscular pale body, black hair in a buzzcut, and a pair of grey eyes.
He wears a gray M65 jacket over a white shirt, blue jeans, a pair of trench boots and black leather gloves, and a red Pokeball baseball cap resting on his head.
On his belt are a pair of grey Peacemakers with daggers attached under the barrel.
"Nomad?" Qrow said in surprise and confusion while the other teens were confused as well.
The named Nomad currently gasp for air as he look up and said, "Qrow, we have a big problem."
This complicates a lot more now.

Mother's Day Special
Before the Fall, Vic and Nora are currently in the younger sibling's room as they look outside by the window with a solemn look on their faces while leaning on the window sills with chairs on their behinds.
The reason behind this is because the current day today.
It was Mother's Day.
While the two along with, Ren, Yang, and Ruby lost their mothers with the last one only lost her mother only.
But it was different for the Valkyrie siblings because they don't know their mother that much other than being a Champion in Johto.
Some then knock on the door as the two kept their gaze outside.
"Come in," Vic called out as the door then open up to reveal the rest of Team JNPR and Team RWBY.
"Hey guys," Yang said till they noticed the two siblings' mood and remembered that certain subject.
They wince a little till Ren picked up Vic and Nora's mother's box as he then sit beside them.
"You know that those Pokeballs aren't the only things in the box," Ren said as the other pairs of siblings look at him to see that the silent boy drag his fingers inside the box till he grabbed something loose inside it to reveal that it has a secret compartment.
Inside it are pictures which intrigues the other's interest and quickly gathered around them.
Vic took one picture to see a picture of their mother in a younger age.
Their mother has long blonde hair, which means they got their hair color from their father, and blue eyes.
She wears something akin to a monk as she wears a yellow robe that reached her knees, brown baggy pants, wooden sandals, and a flower hair clip by her ear.
She was in a very ornamented room with her Pokemon team behind her and they pose in the picture.
Vic and Nora smiled at this as the older took another picture which then shows their mother along with their father in Remnant.
Their father has raggy orange hair, turquoise eyes, and a goatee.
He wears something akin to what vikings wear with heavy metal and leather chest armor, brown gloves with metal knuckles on them, baggy leather pants, and heavy leather boots.
The two are having an one armed hug with each other while smiling for the camera.
"Let me get one," Ruby said as she grab a picture in the box as everyone gathered around her to look at it.
Nora almost teared up when she saw that it was a picture of her when she was a baby with her and Vic's parents having a happy family shot.
They continued to look to each picture till Vic saw one that intrigues him.
He grabbed the picture and immediately began to tear up.
It was a picture of him when he was born with a 4 year old Nora looking at him curiosly while their parents look at them happily.
"While we don't know our parents, we still have memories about them," Vic said as she wipes his tears with arm, and Nora hugging him.
"And we won't ever forget," Nora said as the two look out the window while their friends smiled at the scene.
"Happy Mother's Day mom," Both of them said as they will forever remember their mother and father, and pass them on to their descendants.
Omake end
And that is it for this chapter.
And Nomad finally showed up which ruins the mood and have a lot explaining to do.
Also, I should began doing a recycling bin for stories and that I will do or not since I do need to let out some ideas. I am doing it in a one shot style story for each chapter having a different story showing either the beginning, a fight, a specific scene, and end.
This is a way for me to let those ideas out without having to resort on putting it in the back of my mind to make my head hurt from it, and probably have someone adopt one of those story and loose those weight on my shoulders.
Another thing, I really want some more people reading this story since I didn't do this story out of attention but out of need. While I do continue making this, I didn't do this story without gaining some recognition since I am very dedicated to this story which made me kinda mad.
But enough of that, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter and I'll see all to the next one.
Vic out and Happy Mother's Day.
