Ugh, why do we have to wait 'til August to continue this?! At least the ending was what we deserved. I will most likely write a story of Kara reuniting with the rest of the super friends too, but for now, this one is just with Alex. I hope you like it!

Kara almost couldn't believe what she was seeing. A ship, in the phantom zone? Her heart knew it was her family, they were coming for her, but could her mind believe it?

"What it is?" her father asked, still wondering how it is possible he suddenly felt stronger.

"That's my family," Kara breathed, grinning up toward the sky. "They're really here!" An excited laugh filled the once cold air when the ship came further into view. This was real. She was going home.

"See?" Zor-el smiled widely at his daughter, proud of the person she grew up to be. "You were always right to hope."

Kara could barely contain her excitement as she saw the heavy door of the ship opening, beckoning her forth. "Come on!" She held onto her father and leaped into the sky, flying toward her saviors. Once onboard, she set her father down and eagerly glanced around.

That's when Kara saw her. Her big sister. The person she had missed more than anyone since she was sent to this hellhole.

"Kara?" came her sister's voice from further inside the ship.

Hearing that made Kara's heart race. She couldn't get to Alex quick enough, and now with her powers finally back, she couldn't help but use them. Using her super speed, she sped up to Alex and went straight into her arms. "Come here," slipped from her lips, as that was something she had been waiting to be able to say again.

Alex caught her and held her as tight as she could. It was finally happening. She couldn't help but wonder if this was the phantoms playing a sick joke on her. "I got you," the brunette assured breathlessly, squeezing her eyes shut as she attempted to focus all of her senses on the woman in her gasp.

Kara was shaking. She finally felt safe, so why did it suddenly feel so hard to stand? "Alex...," she whispered her sister's name, happy it hadn't been long enough to feel foreign on her tongue. "Is this real?"

Alex buried her nose into Kara's hair and breathed deeply. It was almost intoxicating. "I'm here, Kara. We never stopped looking for you from the moment you were sent here."

A sob escaped Kara's throat. She had been forcing herself to stay strong for so long, that there was no stopping the wave of emotions washing over her. "I missed y-you so much..."

Hearing Kara cry was enough for the waterworks to start for Alex as well. She couldn't even imagine what Kara had to go through here. "I'm right here. I'm never leaving you again." Her words were meant to come out firm, with conviction, but she failed to speak in anything above a whisper. At this moment, she wasn't having to be a soldier.

Kara pressed her face into Alex's shoulder and nodded. She knew Alex would protect her.

Alex adjusted her hold and that's when she got a clear look at the man she vaguely noticed walking down the stairs before. It wasn't surprising that Kara had found somebody to rescue down there, but there was something about this guy that was... wait. Was that... the house of El symbol?

The man in question smiled knowingly at her and nodded once. He knew exactly who he was looking at.

Alex opened her mouth to speak, then closed it. She would get the chance to ask questions later, but for now...

Alex leaned by Kara's ear and whispered, "Welcome home," before she kissed her hair and shut her eyes once more. If this moment never ended, she would be just fine with that.

"You know, this is really unnecessary."

"It's a mandatory check-up, Kara, all agents would get one after coming back from dangerous missions."

"But this isn't the DEO, Alex," Kara complained as Alex fussed over her. "Besides, now that I'm back on earth with the yellow sun, I feel fine."

Alex sighed and looked her sister in the eyes. "I could've lost you." She settled her hand against her sister's cheek and smiled softly. "I was so scared... but you're back now and I want to make sure you're alright."

Kara kissed the palm of Alex's hand. "I'm okay, Al'. I have you."

The sincerity in the Kryptonian's voice was enough to make the vigilante cry. She gently pressed her forehead against her sister's as salty tears traveled down her cheeks. "I missed you. Without you... I-I didn't know what to do..."

"I missed you too," Kara whispered under her breath. "Can we please stop doing life or death missions for a while?"

Alex laughed a watery laugh and hugged her tight. "Whatever you want."

Kara settled into her arms and tucked her head against Alex's neck. "I'll hold you to that," she teased softly, happy to be able to slip back into the role of annoying little sister.

A gentle silence fell over them, and for the first time in a long time, they were able to relax.

"Hey, where's my dad?" Kara asked after a while, pulling back and quickly swiping at her eyes so Alex wouldn't see that she had been crying.

Alex smiled softly. Not only was Kara back, but she also learned that Kara's father had survived the death of Krypton, which was a surprise, but a welcome one. "He's with J'onn and Brainy. He spent a lot of time in the phantom zone, so they want to make sure everything is right with his head."

"He's fine," Kara insisted stubbornly. "He survived Krypton, so he can survive this too."

Alex reached over and brushed some loose hair behind Kara's ear. Leave it to Kara to still have hope after surviving one of the worst locations in the universe. "We just want to study his brain waves, that's all. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst."

Kara swallowed hard. Alex was right, she just wished she wasn't. The phantoms had really messed with her head when she was in the phantom zone, and her father was there much longer than she was. Who was to say there wasn't something that could be wrong?

"Hey." Her big sister took her hand and squeezed it firmly. "You're back now, and with someone you thought you had lost forever." Alex gave her a small, sad smile. "What's a mean ol' phantom got on the Kara Zor-el?"

Kara laughed softly. "Right."

Alex looked at her fondly. Her heart was so full of love for her little sister and it took everything in her power to not tackle Kara in yet another hug. "It's so good to have you home."

Kara returned the expression. "It's good to be back."

...

"Is it too hot in here for you?"

"Aleeex!"
