Hello people, and welcome back to Highschool of the Dead: Resurrection. Let's have a look-see at what the Ghosts have to offer...what's left of them anyhow.
"We left quite a few zombies back there..." Rei trailed off.
"We can deal with them later, for now, let's just finish our meal in peace." Saeko said, and the group got back to their food, as the rain continued pouring outside.
"This rain isn't going to let up anytime soon is it?" Alice asked.
"It doesn't look like it, in fact...if I didn't know better, I'd say this was a typhoon." Kohta said.
"This is one weak-ass typhoon." Takashi said.
"It's not; typhoons are much worse than this, and they spawn over the ocean, and this one didn't, not to mention there's no spiral effect." Itachi said, and Saya hummed in acknowledgement while smirking.
"Not bad." She said.
"I told you I was a B student in my school days." Itachi said.
"On that note...why weren't you an A student?" Rei asked.
"Some things I just plain didn't care about...or my twisted family got in the way, surprise surprise." Itachi groaned, and the others shared glances as they continued eating slowly but steadily.
"So...may I ask why you two are soaked? I mean, I know it's raining and all, but don't you two have any dry clothes?" Kohta asked.
"Technically yes, but we don't want to get our other clothes wet as well, plus...I don't know about Saeko, but I didn't go through what clothes our apartment has for me, and if I did, I didn't find anything noteworthy." Itachi said.
"Well, next time we check out an unexplored part of the city, we should get you some new clothes." Shizuka said.
"Maybe." Itachi said.
"When we're done eating, the two of us should get back to the temple." Saeko said.
"But...you just got back; why do you need to go back? Well, aside from the storm." Rei asked.
"Yeah, you've been training your asses off over there; how much more do you need to do?" Kohta asked.
"Well, we...took a break just now, but there's one last thing we need to do over there, but it won't take long." Saeko said.
"We will deal have to with the zombies first." Masato said as he kept eating at a pace that was as steady as it was the whole time.
"Not before it stops raining, and speaking of which, it looks and sounds like it's slowing down." Rei said as she pointed to the window.
"She's right." Kohta said.
"This is one odd storm. How often does one go on and off for days on end?" Kohta asked.
"It's not impossible; if Mother Nature wants to make the wind go apeshit, then it's going to go apeshit." Itachi said.
"I just hope it' got as bad as it's going to get." Rei said.
"Even if this storm makes the zombies easier to kill?" Masato asked.
"How? You hoping for flash flooding, or a massive burst of wind, or even lightning strikes? None of those cases are likely unless this storm actually does magically become a typhoon." Saya said.
"A storm is a storm in that regard." Masato said, before setting his empty bowl of food aside and grabbing his nearby SCAR.
"Hey, we're not ready yet, and this storm is still going on." Saya said.
"Then get ready." Masato said, then Shizuka walked up to him and put her finger in his face, without getting a reaction from him.
"Now look here, if the rest of us aren't up for fighting zombies, you have no right to push us, and this storm is about as out of control as the zombies are. So give us time to get ourselves together, hear me?" She said seriously, and Masato stared her in the face the whole time, with Shizuka having a stern yet pouty look, and Masato's having the same stern expression he always has. He then glanced at the astonished group, sighed, glanced to the side, and walked to the door.
"Two of you have a goal in mind, and so do I, let's not delay longer than we need to." Masato groaned, before leaving, then Shizuka sighed deeply.
"It's official..that man is hopeless." Itachi said.
"He's not going to wait for us, so we should get going." Takashi said before standing up, along with everyone else one by one.
"We're going out in the rain?" Alice asked.
"There isn't much anymore, and it's not likely to pick back up. Just look outside." Rei said, and Alice saw how little rain was coming down.
"O.k...I just don't want to get wet." Alice said.
"None of us do." Takashi said.
"Let's just join-" Itachi stopped talking the moment gunfire was heard, then everyone grabbed their weapons and rushed out the door.
They then saw Masato just outside picking off zombies that were just beyond the wall, before he ran out of ammo, pulled his knife, walked over to the walk, then stabbed one zombie after another through the top of the head. The others then joined in, with Saeko and Itachi chopping into their heads with their swords, Rei stabbing them in the face with her naginata, Takashi bashed in their heads with his bat, and the others held back to watch the massacre. Each of them had their guns at the ready, but unsurprisingly, nobody opened fire into the crowd to avoid risking hitting their teammates in the head.
When the massacre was over, Masato simply reloaded his SCAR, then opened the door before casually walking to the bus with the other following him.
"They followed us alright." Saeko said.
"Yeah, and look where it got them." Saya said.
"There's bound to be more ahead, so stay alert." Masato said before they got on the bus, and Shizuka drove off to the temple.
The whole time, the group sat back and enjoyed the ride, despite the leftover zombies following them; they'd be dealt with just like the first wave was dealt with. Aside from that, they just took in the scenery of the freshly-washed city, with Rei in particular looking at the block they used to call home before getting their new apartments, and snuggled into Takashi's side as the atmosphere got to her. When they finally got to the stairs leading to the temple, Saeko and Itachi got out, and left the rest to keep an eye peeled for zombies.
Saeko of course led Itachi up the stairs, and got halfway up the stairs before she smirked.
"Let me guess: you're staring at my ass?" Saeko asked.
"You know you went first just so that I could." Itachi said.
"True...now the real question is how much longer will you wait before getting a handful of it?" Saeko teased.
"Nah, too easy." Itachi said.
"Really?" Saeko asked, before gasping as Itachi gripped the side of her butt that wasn't stretched.
"I was wrong; it's just easy enough." Itachi said with a smirk.
"Well, keep that arrow you're notching will have to wait until later on if you want to pierce me with it again." Saeko said.
"Right..." Itachi breathed out.
"You can still touch me until then...not now though." Saeko said.
"Killjoy..." Itachi deadpanned, then Saeko chuckled before they continued up the stairs, then went straight for the building with the longbow. Itachi then picked it up, and marveled at it's length before exhaling deeply. He then shared a look with Saeko, before pulling the string...and struggling.
"To think the samurai used to use these in battle, maybe even on horseback." Saeko said, then Itachi loosened his pull on the string.
"I seriously doubt that, this thing is a bitch to notch an arrow with." He said.
"May I try?" Saeko asked.
"If you insist, but don't say I didn't warn you..." Itachi said as he handed the longbow over, and Saeko struggled to pull the string.
"You're right...this is not easy at all." She groaned before relaxing.
"Well, I hope it's lives up to the hype." Itachi said.
"It should; longbows are supposed to have better range and power than a regular bow." Saeko said.
"Like that nodachi and a katana...speaking of which." Itachi said before heading off to the center building, but Saeko spotted something in the corner of her eye, then smiled before going over to take it. When she got to the center building, she saw Itachi looking over his katana, then did the same with the nodachi; he was clearly comparing the two, and maybe even wondering how the two went together. Saeko then walked over to Itachi, then he turned to her the moment he heard her steps.
"I've got a surprise for you." Saeko said before holding out what she found. Itachi's eyes widened as he eyeballed what she found: a dark blue fanged mask that's supposed to cover the bottom half of the face. He then took it from Saeko and looked it over with his eyes feasting on it's details.
"What is this?" Itachi asked.
"A mempo, a mask the samurai used to intimidate their foes, although in this case, I doubt the undead will care how you look, but nevertheless, you have earned this one richly." Saeko said.
"And I will not say no..." Itachi said before he slapped it onto his face.
"Wow...it fits you like a glove. How does it feel?" Saeko asked.
"It feels...almost alive." Itachi said, and Saeko smirked.
"If I didn't know better, I'd say the spirit of a samurai is imbuing you with his warrior spirit." She said casually.
"It unironically feels that way, although that's probably just a small adrenaline spike." Itachi said.
"That too...now, this nodachi..." Saeko trailed off before walking towards it, removing it from it's holder, and drawing it.
"Damn...it's even bigger when drawn." Itachi said as Saeko looked it over.
"It's also every bit as pure as your katana..." She breathed out.
"Pure?" Itachi asked.
"Are you aware that the samurai believed their swords possessed a spiritual power in addition to it's physical abilities?" Saeko asked.
"No I did not, and I assume you do?" Itachi asked.
"You're right; it's actually been proven to me. Outside of that, the steel is just as high a quality as your katana's." Saeko said.
"Alright, so what do you say we go back downstairs and take these things out for a spin?" Itachi asked.
"I say lead the way." Saeko said, and Itachi pulled an arrow, notched it into the longbow, and walked out with Saeko behind him with the nodachi still drawn, and the sheath slung over her back. Itachi then motioned to the courtyard before Saeko got in the middle, then braced herself as Itachi looked on. Saeko then began swinging the nodachi multiple times at a diagonal angle, with the first few times being more labored than the ones after, but it was clear as glass that Saeko was just warming up.
Once she finally got more used to swinging such a massive blade, that's when her lifetime of kenjutsu practice began to rear it's head in earnest. Saeko began to throw one dedicated strike after another at what must have been a horde of imaginary zombies, or maybe Ghosts. Thrusts at chest-level, sweeping strikes across the lower legs' level, one downward strike, followed by an upward strike, then more sweeping strikes at head-level, each one happening while Saeko was moving at least a little bit away from where she was. Itachi just stood there watching Saeko go from being completely foreign to the nodachi, to completely dominating it, which made him look at the longbow in his left hand with an arrow already posed to strike a target of it's own.
Next thing he knew, Saeko was taking her strongest stance yet, then swung as hard and fast as she could, and Itachi recoiled as if stuck by a whiff of the force. Saeko then relaxed, caught her breath, and looked over her new and bigger blade, before looking at Itachi, who removed his mempo so Saeko could see the smirk on his face. She then looked at Itachi's longbow, then struggled to put her nodachi back into it's sheath before finally doing so.
"That...was satisfying." Itachi said.
"I'll bet, now I think it's your turn to demonstrate the glory that can only be displayed by a master of kyujutsu." Saeko said casually, and Itachi stared at her.
"How dramatic..." He deadpanned, and Saeko giggled before following Itachi to the range in the back. Once they got there..it was Saeko's display all over again. Itachi prepared to use his new bow, steeled himself for the strain on his body the bow would put on it, then pulled the string back with more power and speed than Saeko had ever seen him use, then loosed the arrow into a target, right next to the bullseye. Saeko's eyes widened as much as they physically could; that was his first shot, and he was almost flawless.
Each shot after that was just as intense, and precise; Saeko watched the arrows fly one after another, with the wind sometimes getting in the way and causing his shots to veer off-target to an extent, but the shots afterwards made up for it thanks to Itachi's ability to compensate. Saeko then noticed the focus on Itachi's face which was as intense as his desire to put the bow to use, which was quite a measurement to say the least. As for the rest of his body...it was clear that the strain was more serious on him than the compound bow is, but Itachi's bulk and definition spoke for itself with how much speed and force was behind was behind each time he pulled the string back, and of course, pushed the shaft forward at the same time, like a true master.
When he finally loosed his final arrow, Itachi sucked in one deep breath after another, and continued to do so as Saeko went to fetch his arrows for him. Each shot was either embedded in the center of each target, or dangerously close...but the depth of penetration was significantly greater than that of the compound, which made Saeko somewhat uneasy at the idea of being on the receiving end of Itachi's longbow. When she managed to get each arrow out of the targets after repeatedly struggling to do so, she returned them to Itachi.
"That bow is something to behold..." Saeko trailed off.
"Feels like it too." Itachi said as he looked the longbow over.
"How are your arms?" Saeko asked.
"A little drained, but I'll adapt." Itachi said.
"You know, normally I'd ask if I could try it now, but...I doubt I'd do as well as you did." Saeko said.
"Don't sell yourself short; you might not be able to do this as quickly as me but...do you remember how you did with that nodachi? There's no way I'd be able to do that on my first try." Itachi said.
"Fair enough, although we should use each other's weapon at some point." Saeko said.
"Maybe...but we aren't there yet." Itachi said, before Saeko hummed in acknowledgement, then shared a brief but sweet kiss with Itachi.
"We should get back to the others." Saeko breathed out, before leading the way back.
When the two got halfway down the stairs, they heard gunshots, which could only mean one thing. Lo and behold, the two spotted a horde of zombies heading for the bus, and everyone who gunning them down by the dozen. Itachi and Saeko then shared a look, then Saeko rushed past the bus, then the group stopped shooting as Saeko swung her gigantic sword into the crowd, severing heads left and right. Before they knew it, one arrow after another pierced the heads of the zombies Saeko wasn't striking down, and Itachi was seen using his new longbow.
"You mean they had larger weapons kept in that temple the whole time?!" Rei asked.
"Apparently, and now we know why they were training so much." Kohta said as Saeko and Itachi continued putting their heavy duty weapons to use on the undead. Even Masato relaxed and watched the pair tear through the undead...what was left of them. Despite their lackluster speed, both of them were mopping up the undead with the same effectiveness as ever, although it was clear that neither of them were as used to their larger weapons than their standard weapons. The pair then shared a glance before Itachi took his arrows back, and they joined the others on the bus.
"Wait...where did you get that mask?" Saya asked as Shizuka drove off.
"Oh, one of Santa's little helpers...where do you think I got it?" Itachi asked seriously.
"Don't get smart with me!" Saya snapped.
"Anyway, Saeko thought the mask, or mempo as it's called, would fit me, so here I am." Itachi said.
"I love how you skipped the part where someone had to ask why you wear it in the first place." Saya deadpanned.
"I skipped nothing." Itachi said simply, and Saya groaned.
"Why didn't you just take those weapons with you from the start?" Takashi asked.
"No point keeping something without being used to the smaller weapons." Itachi said.
"Bullshit. You could've just saved them for later." Rei said.
"I have a question of my own: what difference does it make?" Itachi asked.
"We could have saved fuel coming down here for one thing." Saya said.
"Not to mention you could have had them for when you needed them between the first time you went to that temple and now." Kohta said.
"Well hindsight is 20/20 now is it?!" Itachi snapped.
"O.k. that's enough! You two got your new weapons, alot of zombies are dead now, and we're on out way back home, now be quiet and let me drive!" Shizuka snapped, and everything stared at her.
"O...k. then..." Saya breathed out, before the group simply enjoyed the ride home.
When the bus was parked in it's usual spot, the group went to Shizuka's place, except for Itachi and Saeko who made a quick stop at their own apartment.
"Well...that was fun" Saeko said as Itachi took his mempo off and set it on a table.
"It was also a bit taxing." Itachi said.
"Of course it was, it was our first time...and keep your jokes to yourself." Saeko said.
"Saeko...baby...the last thing I'm going to joke about is our first time smashing. Anyway, I think we should switch roles now." Itachi said.
"How so?" Saeko asked.
"Simple: you take the longbow, and maybe your wakizashi too, I'll take the nodachi, and see where things go from there." Itachi said.
"Itachi..." Saeko trailed off.
"You said yourself it's our first time, but that's why we're doing things in a controlled manner this time instead of the on-the-fly b.s. we had to deal with earlier." Itachi said.
"Here's hoping the number of zombies isn't too bad around here now, then again..." Saeko trailed off.
"We can just pick a place that doesn't have as many zombies, then have at it, quietly of course." Itachi said.
"Good thinking, although...why the wakizashi?" Saeko asked.
"Have you used it recently?" Itachi asked.
"No I have not..." Saeko said.
"Well, now you can not only use the longbow, but also your wakizashi to maybe attack zombies when they're really close. don't worry, I'll keep a Glock on me in case things go too far south for you." Itachi said, and Saeko smiled and went to him before putting her hands on his shoulders.
"Good to know I have another warrior there to keep me covered...and keep me company for that matter." She said sensually before pressing her lips against Itachi's. Before they knew it, both were holding each other close, lashing tongues, and having their hands roam each other's frames. Saeko then chuckled into their kiss as Itachi's hands found her butt and gave it a through squeeze.
"And when we get back...I am tossing you onto that bed." Itachi breathed out.
"Don't threaten me with a good time." Saeko said with a smirk, and then gasped after Itachi gave her a gentle spank.
"I don't make threats, I make promises." Itachi said.
"One I cannot wait to see you keep." Saeko said before kissing Itachi one last time.
"O.k. before I lose what little restraint I have left, let's go kick some undead ass." He said seriously, and Saeko huffed in amusement before grabbing her wakizashi, switching her nodachi for the longbow, then following Itachi out the door.
After about an hour of looking around the neighborhood, which was thoroughly cleared of all zombies thanks to the group's combined efforts, the pair finally found a street with a decent number of zombies. Itachi then shared a glance with Saeko, held the longbow for her, then threw his chimes into an out-of-the-way area, then some zombies shuffled towards it. Once they got close enough, Saeko pounced and jammed her wakizashi into their heads one after another before retreating to compose herself; now was not a good time to get too worked up.
Itachi then gave the longbow back to Saeko, then she notched an arrow, looked at the zombies until she picked a target, then recalled the tricks Itachi taught her, namely the ones where she keeps herself straight, and where she pulls the string, and pushes the shaft forward. Once she was certain enough of her abilities, she loosed an arrow into the closest zombie...and hit it's head so hard it was pushed down by the force behind the arrow. Itachi then let off a whistle, which the closest zombies heard, then he drew the nodachi as Saeko notched another arrow.
Itachi then remembered his own lessons with Saeko, as well as her demonstration, then he began to split heads with the nodachi one by one in slow but steady succession. Saeko meanwhile, choose her next target, then loosed another arrow into a zombie that was behind Itachi, before he turned around and split the head of another zombie that was somewhat further away. Several more zombies approached, only for Itachi to wind up the nodachi, then swing hard enough to sever all of their heads at once.
The pair continued mowing down the zombies, while slowly but steadily running low on stamina, not that it mattered at the moment. Each zombie that got too close to Itachi got an arrow through it's face thanks to Saeko, or Itachi's nodachi through it's neck or skull. Even the zombies that joined the fray didn't last long; Itachi at this point didn't have enough stamina to use his nodachi, so he dropped it, pulled his Glock, and started popping heads left and right. Saeko in the meantime, pulled her wakizashi and followed suit as she lobotomized her own fair share of zombies.
When they were done, they went to the others at Shizuka's place, then saw them looking at the map, as Rei, and Kohta were outside looking at the city through their scopes.
"Where have you been?" Takashi asked.
"Testing our new toys even more, with seriously favorable results." Itachi said.
"Right, well while you did that, we went over how much more of the city we have left to cover, until we reach that power plant." Takashi said as Saeko and Itachi sat down.
"And?" Saeko asked.
"And we have a bit of a problem: there's still a whole quarter of the city left to explore, including a military base outside of the city, a warehouse complex, and even a small refinery, plus a ton of other things." Saya said.
"Yikes...we've got our work cut out for us alright." Itachi said.
"Don't be ridiculous. We're going to need far more people to retake this city, if even that." Saya said.
"Maybe the refinery has people that can help us." Itachi said.
"Or it's full of Ghosts and they'd kill us the moment we set foot there." Saya said.
"Then we should go to the military base again, then I can possibly get in touch with the rest of the military, and maybe the government itself if possible." Masato said.
"That...would probably be best." Saya said.
"Yes, it would." Masato said seriously.
"But until then, we had better make the most of the situation." Takashi said.
"Correct, and that means at this point, our mission to destroy the zombies is that much more critical." Masato said as Rei came inside.
"Speaking of which, there's a few smaller hordes in sight." She said, and Masato stood up.
"Where exactly are they going?" He asked.
"One is heading right for here, another is going off to one side, and another is going off to the other side." Rei said.
"Then we'll have to engage the ones that come here first, then deal with the stragglers later." Masato said.
"We'll stay here and deal with them as they approach our block." Takashi said.
"Me and Itachi will deal with the others at a distance." Saeko said.
"Wait, you two have been out and about all day; aren't you tired?" Shizuka asked.
"We can sleep when this is over." Itachi said.
"No...the risk is too great; I will go with you." Masato said, and Itachi stared at him before standing up.
"So you and I get to kill zombies together..." He trailed off.
"Apparently so." Masato said simply, and Itachi reminded everyone of his past arrogance with a smirk.
"Well, can't say I wasn't looking forward to this, but I'm not opposed to it either." He said.
"Comforting, now those zombies are waiting for nothing, so we shouldn't either." Masato said before walking to the door, leaving Saeko and Itachi behind to share looks with the rest of the group.
"Good luck to you both." Takashi said.
"And wish us some..." Saya breathed out.
"You don't need luck." Itachi said before following Saeko outside.
"Alright, let's get ready to kick some undead ass." Takashi said before everyone grabbed guns and went outside to aim at the approaching horde.
"Showtime..." Kohta said with a grin.
"Sir? I have a favor to ask." Itachi said and Masato stopped and turned his head to Itachi.
"Well, let's hear it." Masato said.
"Could you let me take point with our little extermination? I want to get as used to this nodachi as possible, and I can't do that as quickly as I can with you shooting the zombies." Itachi said.
"I suppose that could work." Masato said.
"Much obliged, and if it's too much, I'll make it up to you somehow." Itachi said.
"No need, the more weapons we have skill in, the more options we have to kill the zombies, and that goes double if it saves us ammunition." Masato said.
"Good point sir." Itachi said, and Masato brandished his SCAR and walked through the gate.
"Nice going baby." Saeko breathed out before kissing Itachi, then they followed Masato until they reached the nearby intersections. Once they did, Saeko split from the group as a small horde showed up on the side after she shared a glance with Itachi. Once Saeko was out of sight, Itachi followed Masato the other way, and they spotted another horde.
"Alright...what's your name again?" Masato asked.
"What? You forgot my name?" Itachi asked seriously.
"Yes, now please remind me." Masato said.
"It's Itachi!" Itachi snapped.
"Very well, Itachi...put your nodachi to use." Masato said, before Itachi shook his head and drew his nodachi. Once he did, they heard gunfire behind them, and watched the main horde begin to crumble thanks to the rest of the group. Somehow, the horde Itachi and Masato had in sight caught wind of the gunfire, and marched their way, and the pair marched closer themselves.
Once they got close enough, Itachi got to work severing the zombies' heads with the same vigor as before, as Masato kept his word and simply observed. As luck would have it, his SCAR wasn't needed as Itachi was more than capable of observing every angle he could as they were needed. Every time a zombie got within range, it didn't move an inch closer thanks to the fact Itachi was getting more and more used to the nodachi with each use of it.
Once he was done with the first wave, he shared a glance with Masato, who was simply observing as much as ever as Itachi caught his breath. Masato then took over by removing the suppressor of his SCAR, then shooting at the zombies in the distance with one shot every few seconds. Each shot landed, and the noise attracted the zombies, and Masato fired more rapidly as the zombies close it. Itachi then took full advantage of the moralizing effect of Masato's presence and stopped worrying about everything as his breathing and heartrate steadied, until eventually Itachi felt his mind become completely clear once again.
Masato then reloaded his SCAR, and continued filling the zombies' heads with bullets until Itachi stepped forward. Masato then stopped firing as Itachi marched at the zombies, then sliced through a group of them with more speed and force than before. More and more groups of zombies fell one after another every few seconds as Itachi's nodachi tore through their necks like they were butter, or was jammed through their faces one by one.
Masato then looked back to see the rest of the zombies were falling as steadily as before, but couldn't see Saeko anywhere...not that their help was needed. Eventually however, Masato had to step in as Itachi's stamina was beginning to fail him completely; one zombies actually managed to grab Itachi before Masato put a bullet through it's head. Itachi then pulled a Glock, and joined the shooting spree, albeit slower than Masato, but even then, the two began to finish off the last of the zombies, with Masato as full of energy as ever.
"Thanks..." Itachi breathed out.
"You're welcome, now get back to the others. You can't help anyone in your condition." Masato said.
"You don't have to tell me twice...good luck with any others there happen to be." Itachi said, and Masato walked off to look for more zombies...then Itachi was stuck in the neck by something, then he found a dart embedded in his neck...which happened to be a tranquilizer that knocked him unconscious within seconds. Masato himself went down an alleyway to investigate whatever could be happening...only for a Ghost to jump out with an M60 and spray his chest full of bullets. Luckily, Masato's armor protected his vital organs, but the force still knocked him down, so he decided to play dead until he heard footsteps.
"I got him!" The Ghost yelled.
"Great Hideo, now come help us out here." Another Ghost said, and Hideo walked past Masato...who eventually opened his eyes and saw two more Ghosts grab Itachi's body and drag him away.
"Damn, this son of a bitch is heavy." The other Ghost said.
"Hey, he's pretty shredded, and muscle is pretty heavy." The first Ghost said.
"What about that soldier back there? I'll bet he's got all kinds of good shit." Hideo said.
"Fine, but the boss is not a patient man, and we are not waiting for you." The first Ghost said, and then Hideo went back to Masato, who was still laying down. The moment, Masato felt Hideo going through Masato's outfit looking for items...Masato whipped out his knife, and put it at Hideo's throat so rapidly that Hideo had no time to resist as Masato pinned him to the ground.
"Where are they taking him...?" Masato asked.
"You...you should be dead-" Masato cuts Hideo off.
"Where!" He growled.
"The ref...the refinery!" Hideo said.
"Why?" Masato asked.
"He...he killed...you all killed so many of us, the boss he...he wants revenge." Hideo said, before Masato slit his throat and stood up.
Saeko meanwhile, was putting the longbow to good use as she shot down the zombies en masse, sometimes in-between moments she snuck up on a zombie and jammed her wakizashi into it's head. There were already dozens of zombies behind her that suffered the same fate, but not dozens more weren't far behind. Saeko never once killed multiple zombies with one shot like Itachi could, but that was for later.
At one point, Saeko loosed her arrows into a group of zombies, without using her blade, then charged at the ones behind the ones she shot down. The ones she targeted were slaughtered in no time, and only added to her invigoration as she wove through their numbers, and stabbed them in the back of the head, or through the face. She then retrieved the arrows, and finished off another group as with the longbow, then wrapped things up by kicking the last one down, and loosing an arrow through it's head...like Itachi did at least once.
When she was done, she looked back at the main horde that was closing in, but the group didn't need her help clearly, so she casually walked back. Gunfire tore through the horde like they were paper being put through a shredder the whole time she walked back, and the piles of dead zombies somehow did nothing to slow their advance. Next thing she knew however, an explosion occurred in the middle of what was left of the horde...then another happened seconds later. Saeko then looked up to see Kohta brandishing the M32 grenade launched, and the rest of the group shot down the remaining zombies before Saeko waved at them to come down.
"Scratch another horde." Rei said.
"At this rate, we'll have this whole damn city cleared in no time." Kohta said.
"I took care of my share as well..." Saeko said, as Masato came back running.
"What happened to your armor!?" Shizuka asked seriously.
"And where's Itachi" Alice asked.
"Some Ghosts ambushed us, they captured Itachi and tried to kill me...they're taking him to the refinery." Masato said, and everyone's faces fell, their eyes widened, or in Saeko's case...their fists tightened.
"What do we do now?" Saya asked.
"We go save him..." Takashi said, before Saeko went home.
"Damn right..." She said seriously, and then opened the door before looking over her and Itachi's weapons...then grabbed the mempo before putting it on.
