Continuing to clash against the Witch Queen, Davis and Kari remained strong, their blades clashing with either her staff or her dark tendrils as the Ascended Digidestined did all they could, working as one to defeat the corrupt Kari before them.
But even with their power, and the fight being two on one, Ahriman's dark power provided the Dark Kari with great and terrible abilities.
"You two are so amusing." Dark Kari said with a laugh, casting her right arm forward and releasing a set of dark blasts from her hand, the attack causing Davis and Kari to fly around, dodging the attacks as they tried to get closer once again, where Davis launched through the dark energy barrage, bringing his blades toward Dark Kari, ready to strike.
However, before he could land a hit, the Witch Queen brought her staff up, blocking the attack as she kept her smile on her face, enjoying the frustration she could sense from Davis.
"This would be so much easier if you just surrendered yourself, Davis. I promise you it will be worth your wild." Dark Kari then said to the Ascended Digidestined of Miracles with a faint purr in her voice, moving to bring her right hand to Davis' face, where he sensed the dark energy within her hand, causing him to push back as the Witch Queen laughed wickedly.
"Sorry, but I've got too much to lose." Davis said in reply, looking over at his Kari briefly and adding. "I already have a Kari I love, and I won't betray her, not even for you."
"Too bad." Dark Kari said with a sigh, slightly bothered to see Davis' determination expressing itself, despite a part of her swooning over it, before the corrupt brunette snapped her fingers, where Dark Angewomon broke off her battle with her double and Magnamon, flying next to her partner as a dark portal opened behind the pair.
"This has been fun, but we really need to get going before that Spire goes off, wiping out all your little friends." The Witch Queen then informed with a smirk, annoying Davis, Kari and their partners as they flew closer to one another.
"Why are you running!? What is really going on here!?" Kari yelled at her double, trying to deliver a clean hit upon Dark Kari, who merely laughed as she and Dark Angewomon entered the portal behind them, which closed before Kari could strike, much to her annoyance.
"Damn it!" The Ascended Digidestined of Light let out, slamming her fist into the ground, feeling the anger she tried suppressing earlier that night now returning within her.
Though upset she had failed to best her dark counterpart, feeling a calming and familiar warmth on her shoulder, Kari relaxed herself as she looked upon Davis, seeing the Digidestined of Courage and Friendship standing by her side.
"We can't let them get to us, we need to focus on the battle at hand." Davis told Kari, feeling the same frustration his beloved was feeling, but knew that their friends were still in danger, where the Ascended and their partners took off to help their allies against their spectral opponents.
During the final moments of their conflict with the Witch Queen, Sakuyamon let out a furthered cry of pain as she tried to keep her barrier up as the spectral construct around DarkSakuyamon unleashed a powerful blast of dark energy at her.
Showing a darker grin from within her construct and upon her dark lips, DarkSakuyamon looked upon Sakuyamon, intentionally holding back a fraction of her power to keep her counterpart in a state of pain and suffering.
"How does it feel to be so helpless, so useless? I remember when we were seen as the most powerful of our worlds. We let out 'friends' drag us down, but the Dark Ones remade me, made me more powerful than we ever imagined. They might think they can win against the darkness, but you know the truth, you cannot stop us, so why not give in and relinquish yourself to them? Save yourself from the coming end." DarkSakuyamon said, with Sakuyamon growling in reply, while Rika and Renamon noticed how, since summoning the spectres, their counterpart's spear continued to glow with the same dark aura.
Seeing her counterpart continuing to show her defiance, DarkSakuyamon was ready to finish the shaman Digimon off once and for all, before a series of gunshots went off as bullets bounced off her spectral form, causing the Dark Digimon to turn and see her TK using his pistol on her, eventually running out of bullets as he brought his gun down.
"Seriously? What in that broken, deranged mind of your were you thinking that would do?" Dark Rika asked with a mocking thone through her biomerged form.
"I was thinking it would distract you while Sakuyamon strikes you in the face." The older TK replied with a smirk, his reply causing DarkSakuyamon's eyes to widened as she turned her head, just in time to find Sakuyamon, whose body was glowing with the same light aura as those blessed by the Ascendeds' power, the shaman Digimon throwing her fist forward and slamming her fist into her face, pushing DarkSakuyamon out of her construct form and sending her skidding across the ground a few times, while the spectral construct dissolved into nothing.
Growling in frustration, DarkSakuyamon slowly got up, seeing her counterpart landing a few feet before her as she began to growl out. "You think a lucky shot like that will...?"
However, reaching for her spear, DarkSakuyamon's eyes widened to find it not near her/on her person, before the corrupt Digimon looked toward counterpart as fear and panic filled her upon seeing her weapon set within Sakuyamon's hand.
"Don't think we didn't notice that this is what's controlling these ghosts. Wonder what will happen when they're free of your shackles." Sakuyamon remarked, before throwing the dark spear into the air, while preparing her own.
"No!" DarkSakuyamon screamed as she tried to get to her counterpart in time, but it was too late.
"Fox Drive!" The shaman Digimon then cried out, releasing a stream of purified blue flames that consumed the dark spear, causing it to dissolve into nothing.
At that moment, all along the battlefield, the spectral Digimon, Appmon and other ghostly forces stopped what they were doing, reliving a few of the heroes and heroines, as some were in bad situations from the ghostly horde.
Then, turning as one, each spectre turned and looked at DarkSakuyamon, letting out shrieks of rage as they all charged at the corrupt Digimon, whose fear only grew at this.
"Stay back! Stay back!" DarkSakuyamon screamed in panic as she unleashed dark blasts at the charging ghosts, taking out as many as she could, before they managed to get a hold of her, where the Dark Digimon screamed and thrashed as a portal unlike the ones the heroes had seen before formed beneath DarkSakuyamon, who continued screaming as the ghosts dragged her into it, following close behind, before it closed behind them, leaving a cold chill in the air.
"Where... where did they go?" Zephyrmon asked with some worry in her voice, where Shadowknight, who was nearby, merely replied in a serious tone. "You don't want to know. Let us just say, she won't be returning from there."
Feeling a chill of her own as she watched what happened to her counterpart, Sakuyamon then felt a hand on her shoulder, looking to see Davis and Kari there, feeling their warmth fill her.
However, before any words could be exchanged, the Spire let out a small pulse, alerting everyone as they saw the black object close to being fully powered, while Matt, Catherine and the others were worried as they still saw TK and Seraphimon at the very top, being thrashed by the demonic behemoth they were facing.
On top of the Spire, Seraphimon gave a great pain filled cry as DoneDevimon held him with both miasma hands, the dark substance corroding away at his armour, while TK continued to watch on helplessly, clenching his fist as he tired to control his anger.
'The hopeless child many believe to bond with the light, whose dreams turn to dust in the end...' Ahriman's words rang in his mind, causing TK to immediately shake his head, refusing to let the Dark One's taunts get to him, while mentally acknowledging that, as he looked upon his counterpart, that he too could be consumed by darkness.
Breaking from his thoughts as he heard his partner give another scream to his pain, TK then watched as DoneDevimon then slammed Seraphimon into the ground below them, before unleashing a stream of blue flames at the angelic Digimon.
Consumed by the inferno, Seraphimon was no match for DoneDevimon's intense power and collapsed, reverting back to Patamon, which caused TK to rush towards his partner in worry, scooping up his partner into his arms, before something large landed before them, causing TK to look up as DoneDevimon let out a dark laugh.
"Do you see? In the end, nothing you do matters. Now, no more games. First I'll kill you, then kill everyone else!" Dark TK said through DoneDevimon, who let out another dark and menacing laugh as he looked ready to eat the Digidestined and Digimon of Hope.
Feeling his fear getting the better of him, TK then felt a warmth go through him as he had flashes of all the good memories he had with his friends, his family, but in particular, with Davis and Kari, where TK noticed his Digivice begin to glow, the Crests of Hope, Miracles and Light appearing on it as he looked at DoneDevimon's approaching mouth with determination in his eyes.
Down below, both Davis and Kari held their hands out, where the others watched on as their hands glowed a bright light.
"Hatred, fear, darkness... you are all the worst qualities of me brought out by the path your life took, but my Davis and Kari furthered the hope within me. They have been great friends, inspirations to watch since this whole conflict started, and I know as long as I believe in them, they will believe in me!" TK expressed with a continued determination, before he and Patamon were consumed in a bright light, the sudden spectacle causing DoneDevimon to stop and let out a beastial shriek as he shielded his eyes from the light.
"Biomerge activate!" TK and Patamon declared as one through the light, before a large fist slammed into DoneDevimon's face, knocking the demonic Digimon back, before he looked up with shock to see a new foe before him.
Replacing TK and Patamon and now floating above DoneDevimon, a great and majestic being stared the twisted Digimon down.
Looking upon the combination Digimon formed by TK and Patamon, DoneDevimon found himself now facing more of a animalistic based Digimon as opposed to an angelic figure, but taking in the golden shine of the Digimon, noticing the golden scales along its chest, arms and down its tail, alongside its six familiar angelic wings and the golden ring set around its left arm, DoneDevimon could see and sense this Digimon also served as a harbinger of the light.
Staring back at DoneDevimon, glaring at the wicked Digimon behind its white mask, its shining red seemed to almost pierce through DoneDevimon, seeing him as an evil that had to be expelled from their world.
"Goldramon!" The new Digimon let out with a further majestic roar, both TK and Patamon's voices making his sound as it spread its wings out further, releasing the light from its body and once again leaving DoneDevimon shrieking to the intensity.
Within the biomerged form, TK felt a sense of peace, despite his situation, while around him, the transparent forms of Davis and Kari in their Ascended forms floated as they stared ahead, giving their friend the power needed to defeat his foe.
Looking down, seeing DoneDevimon crawling backwards as to try and get some distance, expressing a faint fear to the holy Digimon, Goldramon brought his arms together as light gathered within them, before crying out with might. "Fatal Flame!"
Instantly, a burst of light shot out of Goldramon's being, spreading outwards and causing DoneDevimon to let out a continued hiss of pain and agony as his wings dissolved, along with his dark miasma hands, while cracking the Spire beneath them, the energy at the center becoming unstable.
Letting out a cry of rage, DoneDevimon then fired a concentrated blast of dark miasma at Goldramon, hoping to finish him off once and for all.
"Good Summon!" Goldramon followed up as two draconic spirits, one red, the other blue, shot from Goldramon's back, passing through the dark miasma and slamming themselves into DoneDevimon's being, causing the demon Digimon to struggled and thrash about as they dragged him across the top of the Spire, before throwing him into the conflux of energy, leaving DoneDevimon screaming in pain as the unstable energy coursed through his body, causing the Spire to start to break apart.
Looking upon the sight, to see DoneDevimon exposed further to the unstable energies forced upon him, and knowing the destruction that was sure to follow, Goldramon took his que and flew away, hoping to get to safety before the big explosion.
And despite his Digimon form thrashing and shrieking, as he began dissolving, Dark TK's last thought in his mind was. 'It doesn't matter...'
At that second, the Spire exploded above, where Davis and Kari brought up light barriers to protect their friends from the debris, before the others saw Goldramon flying down to them, each and everyone of them happy and impressed by the new Digimon, especially Catherine and Floramon.
"Sorry we took so long." TK said through his Biomerged form, before asking as he looked around. "What did we miss down here?"
"A lot." Davis said once he and Kari reverted back to their human forms, here the Ascended Digidestined of Miracles then said. "Let's get back to Primary City, we need to rest up. I'm worried that the worst is about to come."
Each of the heroes and heroines looked at one another at Davis' comment, both Ascended Digidestined feeling the dark energy they have sensed for days now growing, and knew that their counterparts were done holding back.

Back within the dark fortress, Dark Kari and BlackGatomon arrived to a sight that caused them to share a wicked grin, seeing the Dark King and BlackVeemon looking out from a balcony as legions of Shadow Demons, Dark Digimon, corrupt Appmon and D-Reaper Agents under their control amassed before them, while the Dark DATS members, along with dark Izzy, Mimi, Joe and their partners prepared for battle.
"Is it time, my love?" The Witch Queen asked as she walked towards the Dark King, who turned and smirked in reply.
"Yes. There's no turning back after this. Are you prepared?" Dark Davis asked as he slid his hands around the Witch Queen's waist, seeing her smile back in reply.
"Yes, my love. After this, our ambitions will become reality, one way, or another." Dark Kari replied with her own smirk as she leaned in and kissed the Dark King, both ready to give everything for the battle ahead.
Back at DATS a moment later, after the heroes had just returned, the alarms in the command room began blaring once more, causing Airu to let out in frustration. "Oh, what now?! Where are they attacking now!?"
"Everywhere..." Miki replied in shock and panic as the monitors showed images of dark portals opening all over the Digital World, where the dark armies of the Dark King began emerging through, much to the horror of everyone watching.
"This is it, they're not holding back anymore." Shadowknight said in anger, having seen this army before and what it could do, while seeing the Dark DATS and the remaining dark Digidestined appear through some of the other portals.
"And neither will we." Davis said back, where everyone looked at one another and nodded, all knowing they had to give it their all comes this fight.
"I'll come with you as well, you might need me." Izael offered as he withdrew his blade, causing Davis and Kari to nod in thanks and appreciation, before the heroes set off for the battle to come.
Above the ocean, not too far from Primary City, a massive dark portal opened, where the dark fortress emerged into the Digital World, the Dark King and Witch Queen standing at its highest point with their partners.
"Now, we wait. They'll be coming for us." Dark Davis said with a smirk behind his mask, knowing that soon, everything he fought for would come to pass.
Back within the Dark Realm, a series of Shadow Demons, resembling hooded robed figures, floated around a ritual circle, chanting in their dark language as they prepared for the events to come.
