Fading Memories

Chapter 34th

Mrs. Loreile Ann Baskins after waking from the dream in regard to her husband's injuries. She wasn't going to take no to the answer of staying put.

She told Madeline to make sure that she keeps a close eye on the boys while she was visiting her husband in the hospital. She needed to put together a go-bag filled with her clothes and other accessories. Even though once she reaches the hospital, she had the feeling she was going to be fighting Leon on his decision.

She was going to make sure she was armed to the tee with weapons before reaching the hospital.

Madeline came into the bedroom wondering whether she was doing the right thing. She was watching Loreile finishing dressing as well with her hair placed in a bun on her head. She didn't wish to be bothered with it while she was in the hospital. "Are you sure you're doing the right thing Loreile?"

"Yeah, I am doing the right thing for when it concerns my husband. I love him even though of late things haven't been all that great with his obsession for when it comes to Alejandro Riveria." she cried out with slight annoyance.

"I understand. Just be sure to be extremely careful driving to the hospital. No doubt once the Cartel finds out about Riveria having to be dead. They will be going after Gibbs again and no doubt yourself as well?" she said with the complete truth.

"I will be careful Madeline. I have the training as you know?" she says.

"Sure you do Loreile. But don't forget that you're six months pregnant as well?" she quipped with her words for Loreile to understand the situation.

Bethesda hospital

Mrs. Loreile Gibbs had gotten the pass from the security guard once she walked in to visit her husband. No doubt that Director Leon Vance didn't leave a message with the security office to stop her from visiting her husband on the tenth floor.

"Thank you." she needed to say heading for the elevator. When all of a sudden Leon Vance walking down to her. He stopped her for a moment realizing that he was in the wrong.

"Leon if you're going to stop me I am not going to listen any further. I need to be staying by my husband's side for now until the emergency is over with?" she responded with annoyance with her demeanor.

"I made the wrong decision Loreile. Go already, I need to be going home to rest after the night everyone had at the Mission District."

"What's the latest word on my husband's condition?" she needed to ask with the importance of the question.

"Hanging on and laying in ICU beginning to wake soon," he said with a deep breath.

She walked away to head for the elevator with the door opening with one woman coming out with a pass on her blue jacket. She walked inside to push the button to the tenth floor.

She had a nervous stomach for the most part due to the baby growing at six months with three more to go. She walked out with the door opening onto the busy floor. She had to ask for the room number of her husband Special Agent Gibbs.

She was given the room number while walking the opposite way near another corridor. She was able to find his private room. She walked inside to find her husband hooked up to all types of wires inside his body and including an air mask over his face.

She walked over to his bed to place a hand over his head with his hair needing a haircut.

"Leroy Jethro Gibbs, what are we to do with you?" she cried out.

Moments later she heard a groin from his mouth through the air mask. She had been told that he might wake up after the surgery. She waited...

She heard more noise and then his eyes opened through the mask as she coaxed her husband to fully open his eyes. "Hey! Welcome back to the land of the living Jethro." she cried.

"Loreile." he says to her with a croak.

"Try and take it easy-you're in the hospital," she said to her husband filled with emotion.

"Is the bastard dead?" he asks in regard to Alejandro Riveria.

"Yes. Leon and the R.E.A.C.T. commander shot him three times. I will call the doctor to let him know you're awake?" she walked over to the intercom to inform the nurse's station that he was awake.

Moments later the doctors came in consisting of Taft, Sanchez, and another to check on his wound and to remove the air mask since he was breathing on his own.

Gibbs was able to say something about needing water to drink with his throat dry. Doctor Taft asks Loriele to help with the matter.

She grabbed the silver pitcher from the table and a small plastic cup while pouring a small amount of the cold water into his mouth slowly. While the doctors checked his vitals, and most of all his wound. Having changed the bandages for new. Though the wound was beginning to heal nicely.

"We will leave you to your husband Loriele?" Taft needed to say to his friend with walking out to discuss the case outside of the corridor.

"More water Jethro?" she was concerned as always for when it comes to her husband.

"Please," he said. "I don't remember the rest of what happened afterward once Riveria stabbed me. All I can remember is the pain," he exclaimed with Loreile giving him more water. "I am sorry Loreile for the trouble I put you through with the operation?" he explained with emotion.

"It's no problem baby," she responded by pulling up a chair to talk further.

"Who are you kidding? I know you're upset with me for not listening in regard to heading for the mission district."

"I am not here to get into a fight with you, Jethro," she says with staying quiet for a few moments.
