Part II
WARNING: HINTS OF SELF HARM IN THIS CHAPTER
Lila and her father were on their living room couch attempting to eat dinner. Dinner filled the living room with the glorious smell of steaks tacos, which is one of Lila's favorite dishes. However, the teen was struggling to eat. All she could do is think of all the gifts. All the gifts he got her.
Her, now, ex-boyfriend always bought her something practically every two weeks just to make her feel special. Lila's allergic to stuffed animals, but Arnold always had them wrapped in tight, unbreakable plastic so they wouldn't affect her. The simple small toys like her Hello Kitty doll, the birthday and holiday cards. The thousands of photos of selfies and trips they had together on her phone.
Then the things she got for him. He never asked for anything, but she always bought him nice clothes with her allowance. Nearly three years of gifts and stories behind them - now all meaningless. He did well, asked for - something and she knew what it was. She just wasn't ready. Until a few days ago.
She then thought of her now former best friend. Lila taught Helga had changed. She was wrong. She just couldn't understand. Her summer was the best she had, and now it was all a lie. An amazing boyfriend, as usual, and then a new best friend. Wearing her purple robe and hair down. Her body kept quietly shaking with the thousands of thoughts inside her head. She couldn't touch her dinner. She hasn't felt that way since being the unknown girl at school back in fourth grade.
"Lila, please." Her father said, glancing at his daughter. "Please eat." he declared. What he didn't was that she hasn't in two days. Only sips of water so she wouldn't pass out from dehydration. Lila finally took a bite of a taco to cheer her father. The delicious combination of skirt steak, diced red onion, fresh cilantro leaves, and the warm flour tortilla couldn't satisfy her. Seeing his daughter in tears boiled his blood. Her father had tears as well. He was so shocked. He heard the news, and it naturally devastated him. Never in his life, he ever heard such a thing. He was so happy for his daughter and he really liked Arnold. Everyone liked him. Then his being cheated on for the entire world to see.
"I treated him with nothing but kindness...". Lila whispered. "I don't just understand," Lila sniffed. Her face has never had that many tears before.
"I have half a mind to go over now!" he said in a rage. Going to the boarding house to give a certain football-headed shape teen piece of his mind. It would be understandable.
"No daddy. Please don't. Don't make it worse." she replied.
"You're right. I would go to jail." her father applying logic. It's understandable to be upset, but beating up or even murdering a teenager wouldn't be beneficial for him or his daughter. It's not worth it. It wasn't better as Lila grabbed the remote to watch something else. She flipped into the music video channel, which showed Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day.
"My shadow's the only one that walks beside me. My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating. Sometimes, I wish someone out there will find me. Till then I walk alone" the words from the music video hit Lila in her chest like the tv it punched her.
The feeling of the punch worked as the word reminded her she was now single. And alone. Lila immediately burst into tears in front of her father.
Later that night
"I have to go to school," Lila declared as her father thought she could complete her education at home. Away from the world. But Lila wanted to go to school. She knew she had to face - them, eventually. Her father disagreed, but he wanted to respect his daughter's wishes.
Moments later, Lila gasped after feeling a bit of pain on her wrist while trying to lie down on her bed. A bit of blood came out and soaked a bit of her PJ long sleeve sweater. After knowing her father was absolutely asleep, she exits her bedroom into the bathroom. She scrubbed the dried blood from her wrist and bandaged it with a towel. It cut came from no other resource.
Lila - slit her wrist earlier. Not for suicide, but to feel...something.
It was only an hour of crying in bed before passing out to get ready for school the next day.

A/N: A new chapter will be published definitely once a month, as I'm also working on my Opposite's Attracts project on the Fictionpress site. Barely promoting OA but, if you want silliness, offensiveness, and some silly drama, read that. If you want seriousness of hurt and drama, stick to this!
Which is a point. This story is going in a more serious direction and I'm so excited and can't wait to publish and share with yall as I've also improved some of my writing.
As usual, stay tuned and be safe!
