Beginning Notes
Blackwatch_Agent (ao3): What if the seven, Nico and Will find out about the fact Reyna was a pirate and knows and/or can use magic (Circe's island)?
I don't quite remember if Percy and Annabeth would already know (since they caused half of all that trouble), or if they just don't know that it was Reyna at that island. But for the sake of this chapter they don't so yeah.
Anyways, I hope you'll enjoy and the characters belong to uncle Rick.
Reyna's POV
It was one of the last days of our stay at the Greek camp, and as usual me and my friend were hanging out in the Poseidon cabin after the campfire.
'So, what do you guys want to do this time?' Percy asked.
'Before you even dare open your mouth, no, we aren't playing Twister, Leo,' Nico said, glaring at the son of Hephaestus.
I snorted. There had been such a drama over that game the past few weeks, and every time Leo even brought it up, Nico would basically throw a hissy fit. It was quite entertaining if I was being honest.
'Well, what do you suggest then, Nico?' Leo asked.
'I suggest you let me leave so I can go cuddle with Will in stead.'
Jason rolled his eyes and told him that it was time to hang out with friends, and not to cuddle with boyfriends, but Nico shrugged him off.
'If you just thought of something to do other than Twister I wouldn't have the need to go cuddle with my boyfriend.'
'I have an idea!'
We all turned our attention to Hazel who had suddenly spoken.
'We've been playing so many games that only end in chaos, so how about we just relax and tell each other some stories. Will could join too, and then you can cuddle with him if you want, Nico. That way it's a win-win, right?'
That seemed pretty fair, so I nodded.
'Wait, but I don't know that many stories,' Percy said hesitant.
Annabeth sighed and shook her head, and I could almost feel her disappointment.
'Seaweed Brain, on how many quests have you been?'
Percy frowned and silently started counting them on his fingers. 'One... two... three... four-'
'Yeah, so, you have plenty of stories to tell,' Annabeth cut him off. 'Now, I suggest that on top of the story telling we have a sleepover in Percy's cabin too, just to celebrate the Romans' last night here.'
'Oh, that's a great idea!' Piper exclaimed. 'We could build a big fort out of mattresses! Or have pillow fights, or-'
Everyone laughed at Piper's sudden childlike burst of energy.
'When's the last time you had a sleepover, Piper?' I asked her.
'Too long ago.'
Suddenly the door opened and Will and Nico walked in.
'We're back,' Nico announced as Will quietly waved and said:
'Hey guys.'
'Woah, wait a minute, when did you even leave?' Jason asked confused.
'Yeah, the door never even opened until now,' Leo said.
Will crossed his arms and frowned at Nico. 'Don't tell me you shadow travelled just to get to my cabin. You literally could have walked!'
'Could have.'
'Stop worrying about shadow travelling,' Piper told them while crossing her arms, 'we should be building a mattress fort instead.'
I laughed and slung an arm around her shoulder. 'You, truly are one of a kind, Pipes,' I told her. 'But you're right. So, Percy, where are the extra mattresses?'
Percy got the mattresses and pillows and blankets from the little storage room at the back of the cabin, and the ten of us got to work. At first Annabeth was just doing everything while the rest of us figured out what the heck to do, but in the end we somehow made it work.
Everything in the cabin had been moved against the walls to make as much room as possible for the fort. It didn't look fantastic- it was basically just a pile of mattresses, pillows and blankets, surrounded by mattress walls and a 'roof' made of multiple blankets tied together- but it was cozy and comfortable and that's all that mattered.
After we'd all claimed spots and settled down, Hazel asked who wanted to go first.
'Well, it was your idea after all, why don't you go first,' Annabeth suggested.
Hazel shook her head. 'No, no, I like listening to other stories, someone else can go first,' she said with a soft smile.
Leo put up his hand excitedly.
'Yes, Leo,' Jason said, as if granting him permission to speak.
'I want to hear about the time Percy got turned into a guinea pig!'
Everyone burst out laughing and I thought back to that moment on Circe's island. That was what had made me and my sister run off with a group of pirates. Not the best experience in my life, but oh well, Percy turning into a guinea pig had been quite funny, even though I hadn't known him at that time.
'NO!' Percy yelled. 'ANYTHING BUT THAT!'
'Aww, come on Seaweed Brain, it was funny.'
'Na-ah,' he said shaking his head, 'it wasn't funny at all.'
I snorted. 'Maybe not for you, but for us it was.'
'Woah, wait a minute,' Annabeth said suddenly and everyone stopped laughing. 'What do you mean, 'us'?'
'You, me, Circe, literally everyone on the island,' I said frowning. But then I remembered that if I hadn't known them then, obviously they wouldn't have known me either.
'YOU WERE THERE?' Percy yelled, clearly confused.
'Right... Yeah, did I forget to mention that?'
Piper gasped. 'Spill the tea, Rara.'
I shrugged. 'Not much to spill, really. Circe just turned Percy into a guinea pig with some simple magic.'
'Simple magic?' Percy asked, and I just nodded.
'I have a question,' Frank said then. 'Didn't Circe only allow sorceresses or girls willing to learn the ways of sorcery on her island?'
'Mhm.'
'Wait, does that mean Reyna can do magic?' Will asked, amazed.
'Perhaps,' I told him with a smirk.
'Woah! Show us, show us!' Piper chanted.
'Yeah! Turn Sea Boy into a guinea pig again!' Leo added
I shook my head. 'I've forgotten most of it if I'm being honest. I haven't had to use it at all in like four or five years, you know, so I won't be able to turn Percy into a guinea pig,' I explained, to which Nico sighed dramatically.
'Aw, what a shame, I would have loved to see guinea pig Percy,' he said.
'I do still know some basic magic though.'
I immediately realised my mistake in saying that when Leo started chanting again:
'Show us! Show us!'
Soon, all my friends were chanting for me to show them my sad little knowledge of magic, so I gave in. I focused on recalling the few memories of spell-casting I still had, and made silver sparks fly from my hands and float over our heads like twinkling starts.
Everyone oohed and aahed, and I secretly felt a little pride wash over me. I'd never been able to use my magic, and it felt strange to use it again, but I liked that it made for a cool party trick that everyone seemed to admire.
'That good enough?' I said with a chuckle.
'That was so cool! How come you never told me you could do that?' Jason asked, pouting, but I just shrugged.
'Didn't think it was necessary. Anyway, that was a good start of the story time, don't you think. Now, who wants to go next?'
