John, Monk, and Ayako had stopped by to visit Mai. She had taken Yasu's murder the hardest, understandably. Noll had requested she keep coming to work, suggesting it was best she not be alone. Everyone else had strongly agreed with him.
While they were gathered in the lounge, keeping Mai distracted, Lin excused himself and entered Noll's office. He closed the door and sat down before Noll.
"What do you want?" Noll didn't bother looking up.
Lin sighed, "I want to know what you really saw."
The temperature in the room dropped. Noll glared at Lin.
"Excuse me?"
"Noll, I know you're leaving something out."
"Why would you think that?" Noll raised a brow.
Crossing his arms, Lin continued, "You're obsessing over your research regarding Gene, again."
"I don't see how that is related," Noll commented. "Nor do I see how you could deduce that I am 'leaving something out,' Lin."
Lin truly hoped he was wrong, "You're drawing models again, aren't you?"
Noll was taken by surprise. He didn't think Lin had seen any of his real work recently.
"And if I am?"
"Why would you be? You were thorough in London. What more do you need?"
Noll had no response. He was actually lost for words.
"Well...?"
Sighing, Noll stood up, "I just want to be certain I haven't missed anything."
"And what's gotten you to start double checking? I'm assuming you saw something."
Noll rolled his eyes, "It has nothing to do with Yasuhara."
"Then what does it have to do with?"
Noll, frustrated, blurted the first thing that came to mind, "Mai."
