Two Months later:
"That looks so beautiful!" Molly gushed at the ring that Debbie had on her finger. "You finally managed to get him locked down" she looked over at Elvis and grinned at him.
"You make me sound like I'm a male whore" Elvis rolled his eyes at her before looking over at his bride to be. This would be the second time that he was engaged and if he's being honest everything feels so much lighter than it had when he was with Georgie, who was still getting help.
"You are a slut but at least now you can be my slut" Debbie grinned at him before looking down at the ring. "We weren't sure if we should tell you after-"
Molly looked back at Debbie and then bit on her lip gently, she knew what they were on about "I'm ok, really" Molly was anything but fine but with what she was going through she didn't want people to stop being in love. She hurt so much but this was something she had to go through alone.
"Have you spoken to anyone?" Elvis asked and leaned against the back of Molly's sofa, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans.
"I'm getting counselling, twice a week, it hurts like hell bringing everything up and sometimes I leave that place feeling worse than when I actually went in"
"After the mission in Afghanistan they wanted me to get counselling because I had been gone so long, they probably thought I would come out of it wanting to join their cause or something but I refused because in the end I was absolutely fine I knew my job and that's what kept me going when things had been hell" but unfortunately for Elvis he didn't actually get away with it "they gave me a journal instead and I wrote down-"
"Let me guess, you thought Spanner's hair looked sexy pushed back" Molly joked.
"Don't tell him because I will never hear the end of it if he finds that out" Elvis teased at her before smiling softly "But seriously if you need to talk to someone then you know where we are, all of us"
Molly reached out and slid her hand in to Elvis' and gave it a squeeze before she slid her other hand in to Debbie's "I am so lucky I have friends like you" she really had been lucky to be able to trust friends again especially after everything with Georgie and Charles. Knowing that Debbie only had eyes for Elvis made everything so much easier.
Elvis and Debbie both gave Molly a hug, now before she would've told them to get off of her but she needed the hug. Her heart felt heavy these days especially after what happened. Elvis kissed the top of her head and held on to her for as long as she needed, Molly was usually the one to pull away first when she needed a hug. He promised Charles that he would look after her way back in the beginning and he was going to make sure he kept that promise no matter what.
Molly finally pulled away and looked up at the both of them. "I didn't mean to bring you down on what is such a happy day for you both!" she moved her hands from theirs and then wiped the lone tear that had slipped out of her eye and was running down her cheek.
"It's ok, we understand and we're still happy!" Debbie smiled at her.
"Have you spoken to Charlie since you had a go at him?" Elvis asked and Molly shook her head.
If she's being honest she's glad that he hasn't been around because the last thing she wanted to see was him. Molly was still having nightmares about what happened in Afghanistan the both times she's been there in the last few months. She has been away from duty for a while because of what she was going through and the counselling was making it hard to get rid of all these feelings right now.
"The shrinks know what they are doing, Molls, you're in good hands with them because that's what they're trained for, just let rip when you need to because bottling up your feelings isn't going to help anyone"
"But what if it's only going to get worse?" Molly put her hands into the front pockets of her own jeans. "What if this talking is just making me feel so much worse and not helping out at all?"
"It's never going to go away completely" Debbie admitted "what you're going through is something that none of us have been through before but that doesn't mean we're not here for you and talking about it will make everything a little bit less because you're not bottling it up like Elvis said, you're getting it out there because if you bottle it up then you're only going to explode over the smallest thing and it won't be pretty"
Molly was struggling especially with sleep, the nightmares were the worst and sometimes she would wake up screaming; sometimes she would end up falling asleep on the sofa from where she was just so tired. Then the circle would repeat itself where she would wake up in the middle of the night screaming and in a sweat. "It just feels like I can't break out of the circle no matter what"
"We are all going to help you through this, Molly" Elvis nodded with a smile.
Molly had found a new family, her mother would ring her up and sometimes ask if she's eating or whether she wanted to come back to the house for a little bit and the last place she wanted to be was around her siblings especially when they didn't know how bad things actually were and so she kept them all at distance. "It's not likely I'm going to be back on active duty any time soon"
Elvis shook his head "You're not mentally fit enough to go anywhere, you need to keep seeing the shrink"
Molly looked down and then sighed. "Well I'm going to have a bath, so you better get out of here because you don't want to hear me singing my heart out" she smiled and looked up at the both of them. "I'm going to be ok I promise"
"Well call us if you ever need anything, no matter what time, Elvis always has his mobile on" Debbie gave her a hug and then looked up at Elvis when Molly hugged her tightly back. Then Molly slowly pulled away once more and have Elvis a hug too before she pulled back away from that aswell.
They left Molly alone and she looked around her flat and decided that she was going to have a bath. She liked to light a candle and have a nice long soak. Since what happened she also started seeing things that weren't there. She was told that it was PTSD from what had happened back in Afghanistan, and she hated it. So when she filled the bath up nice and hot she slid in to the water and just let everything brush off her.
Molly closed her eyes up and just let herself relax.
She must have fallen asleep because the next thing she knew there was a soft kiss on her cheek and she let her eyes open before letting a smile pull at her lips. "You're here"
"Yeah, I'm here" he said and sank down on to his knees next to the bath. Blue put his hand on her cheek like he does a lot of.
"You missed Elvis, but I guess that's probably the point, he's engaged to Debbie but they are worried about me and I guess they should be" Molly worried about herself too, the nightmares and not sleeping properly. Now she just felt like a regular person especially when she had been told that she wouldn't be anywhere near active duty in a while.
"Have you been talking about the nightmares?" Blue asked and sat down on the floor beside the bath and watched her.
"No" Molly admitted. She couldnt bring herself to tell the shrink that she was having bad nightmares. The kind that leaves her shaking for a while after the screaming had stopped. She saw Poya's face every time and it always ends with her dying rather than being rescued.
"You need to tell them because they can't help you if you don't tell them about the dreams, promise me that you'll tell them when you go?"
Molly reached out for his hand and slipped her fingers through his when he held his hand out. "I promise I'll tell her about the dreams" she smiled softly at him.
"That's my girl" he smiled back at her.
Molly's eyes then flew open and she looked over and saw that the space where Blue had been in her dream was empty and she let a tear run down her cheek, the water was getting cold so she ran some more in and then started washing her hair.
