Preface: Hello, again! I'm pretty excited for this - this is the final chapter of the Whisker Haven saga! Looking back, I kinda feel like I sorta made the players more deuteragonist-like - that's the problem with crossovers! I'm gonna try and work on that in the future. Anyway, partially due to what's gonna happen over the weekend, and because I'm kinda slipping up, I may push back this weekend's stories to next weekend. Anyway, onto the chapter!
MINECRAFT MANIACS RPG
THE WHISKER HAVEN SAGA:
OF PLAYERS & PALACE PETS & KNUCKLES
Previously...teaming up with Pumpkin and Knuckles and allowing more heroes to join as they went along, Danny, Liam, and Kevin traveled to several places across the multiverse in search for the final set of Gadgets of Order, in order to expose an imposter of Ms. Featherbon. Following that, the imposter was revealed to be the demon Exetior, and they all traveled to his dimension in order to defeat him.
Now...they begin to recover from Exetior's defeat.

The Future Ahead

Pumpkin felt really woozy. It was almost like she had twirled a bit too many times while dancing in the yard. What just happened? The last thing she remembered was that she and the rest of her friends, new and old, were fighting the demon Exetior, who had impersonated Ms. Featherbon, when suddenly he was vaporized by magic energy.
[BGM: Olive Wallace - Stroke of Midnight]
She finally opened her eyes and saw...the stained-glass portrait of Cinderella. I'm back at the Pawlace? she thought. But how did… She turned around and saw that everyone else was slowly starting to wake up as well.
"Whoa," said Danny, sitting up with the rest of his friends. "That. Was. Epic!"
"I know, right?" said Kevin, helping him and Liam up. "That might have just been our best final battle yet!"
"Eh, I still think our battle with Doppel back in December was the best," said Liam.
Danny got wide-eyed. "Wow. I can't believe it's already been like four months!" he said, almost surprised. He smiled. "And look where we are now."
"Yes, you've certainly continued to be a thorn in my side," Pumpkin heard a new voice said. The voice was so loud that everyone else woke up from surprise.
Both Sonic and Knuckles got into defensive positions. "Who's there?" shouted Knuckles. "We've come back from a fight, so we're feeling pretty tense!"
Sonic looked in the direction everyone else was looking and saw...a pig wearing a purple bow tie on a holographic screen. "Oh. It's just some pig talking to us," he said, relaxing himself.
"I am no ordinary pig, Sonic the Hedgehog," responded the pig. "I am the great Perinton Pig!"
"Yeah, great at failing to kill us," said Liam. "He's basically the one who orchestrated all those things we had to go up against," he then explained to the others.
"So you're the meanie who told Exetior to kidnap Ms. Featherbon?" accused Pumpkin.
"Actually, that was on the demon's own accord," responded Perinton. "I simply saw the chance for a collaboration."
Buzzer flew right up to the screen. "What is your point, Perinton?" he said. "Why did you need to call us this time?"
The pig smirked. "I'm simply here to tell you that my plan to recruit evils across the multiverse is going swimmingly. But please, Minecraft Maniacs, continue to try and stop me. It makes for good entertainment."
"Luckily for you, we need a distraction from the pandemic," said Danny.
"So go ahead, Perinton. Do your worst," added Kevin. "All you've done is shown us that when you stick together, anything can be done!"
"Remember that lesson in a few short weeks, then," answered Perinton. "Let's just say Ms. Featherbon has some unfinished business with Exetior…" After that, the holographic screen fizzled out and vanished without a trace.
[BGM: Whisker Haven Theme Instrumental]
"Huh. So that's the guy we're up against?" said Silver, doubtfully. "He must be a dangerous piggy if he caused what I'm dealin' with back home."
"But what did he mean by 'unfinished business?'" asked Ms. Featherbon. "Did we not defeat Exetior?"
"Yes, but it seems that it would take much more power in order to completely vanquish him," responded Buzzer. "But thankfully, he did leave this behind." Next to the fly, a simple sphere of light appeared, glowing with power.
Kevin walked up and took the sphere. "Is this the last of those artifacts?" he asked.
"Indeed," said Buzzer. "Now go on back to our world and place it into the beacon. I'm going to stay behind and perform a few more tasks before I return home."
"But I don't have the Gadgets of Order anymore!" said Pumpkin. "How will they get home?"
"Well, there was that time when Ms. Featherbon created those Warp Zones that brought us here," suggested Tails.
"Of course! That may work!" agreed the fairy, fluttering in front of Danny, Liam, and Kevin. She pointed her feathers in front of her and thought of a blocky, semi-realistic world, and before long, Pumpkin could see the same world she saw previously appear before her.
"Well, I guess that's it," said Liam. "C'mon, guys. Let's go leave our spoils!"
As the three, alongside the rabborgs and Pork Chop, turned towards the portal, Pumpkin ran up and gave them all a big hug. "Thanks for everything," she said. "You're welcome back at Whisker Haven anytime."
"No problemo," said Danny. He turned towards the hovering hedgehog. "And thanks for saving our pork chops back there."
"Just doing my job!" said Silver, giving a quick salute.
Knuckles walked up to the three as Pumpkin released the hug. "Y'know, even though you guys are pretty silly," said the echidna, "you're not actually that bad."
Liam nodded, shaking the echidna's hand. "You're not so bad yourself, Knuckles," he said. "Something tells me we're not quite done yet."
After that, everyone waved goodbye as Whisker Haven's newest heroes returned to their home land, before the portal closed, leaving nothing behind. "Well, since that's done, I'm gonna head back to the future to see how things are going," said Silver.
Sonic gave a loud sneeze. "And my cold's telling me that Eggman's taking advantage of my absence again!"
Kirby and B.D. gave a loud stretch. "And we're a little tired, too," said Kirby.
"Yeah, I wanna go home," agreed B.D.
"No problem. You may all return home now," answered Buzzer. "But as for you, Knuckles and Pumpkin, we have one last thing to take care of…"
[World Change: Mobius]
[Location Change: Angel Island, Hidden Palace Zone]
[BGM: Tee Lopes - Lava Reef Zone Act 2]
Next thing Pumpkin knew, she, Treasure, and Dreamy were standing around a giant emerald alongside their friends Berry, Petite, and Sultan. Each one of them were holding a Chaos Emerald, while Knuckles sat on top of the big one. "So what's this whole thing about?" asked Sultan, playing with the white emerald he held.
"We're going to see if you have a unique power inside of you," explained Buzzer." The results would be more definite if we had you here physically rather than using your likenesses." He turned towards Knuckles. "Now then, let's begin."
That was Knuckles' cue to close his eyes. Pumpkin heard the echidna chant, "The servers are the seven Chaos. Chaos is power enriched by the heart. The Master is the one that unifies the servers." After that, the puppy looked down at her purple Chaos Emerald. It had begun to glow even brighter than before.
"Hey, my emerald is glowing, too!" said Treasure. Sure enough, the yellow emerald she was holding was glowing as well, though not as brightly as Pumpkin's. In fact, every single other emerald was glowing! What could this mean?
Knuckles was eyeing some kind of scroll, circling some things and X'ing out others. "What's that scroll for, Knuckles?" the puppy asked.
"I'm just...taking down our results," said the echidna. "Now I think you should be going home now."
"He is correct," said Buzzer, pointing towards the portal back to Whisker Haven. "But be prepared. We shall meet again in the near future."
As the pets stepped back into Whisker Haven and waved goodbye to Knuckles, Petite noticed that Pumpkin looked a little confused. "What's wrong, Pumpkin?" the pony asked.
Pumpkin looked behind her to make sure the portal had closed. "Well, Buzzer told me that there are these six girls who can use the Gadgets of Order to gain incredible power," she explained.
"So, what's wrong with that?" asked Dreamy. "That sounds amazing, actually."
Pumpkin sighed. "I think I might be one of them." All of the other Palace Pets, as well as Ms. Featherbon responded by shouting "WHAT?" "You saw how the purple Chaos Emerald glowed when I held it," the puppy continued.
"But then, what about the rest of us?" asked Berry. "I held a green one, and it glowed a little, too."
Pumpkin shrugged. "Maybe you have that power, too?"
"Maybe we do, maybe we don't," said Sultan. "That'd be awesome if we did, though! But I think we're worrying too much about this."
"Sultan is right, Pumpkin," said Ms. Featherbon. "For now, we should simply enjoy the present while we can."
Pumpkin smiled. "Yeah, you're right. I should focus on the present." Her tail began to wag pretty hard. "Especially because that present is that Ms. Featherbon is back!" She jumped up in the air and grabbed the hummingbird, giving her a big hug. "Welcome back, Ms. Featherbon."
The fairy was stunned at first, but she quickly smiled and returned the hug. "Don't worry, Pumpkin. I don't think I'm going anywhere for a long time."
"What does she mean by 'back?'" Sultan asked Treasure.
The kitten laughed. "It's a long story."

[Current Location: Private World, Secluded Shrine]
[BGM: C418 - Moog City]
The minecart skidded to a halt and Liam, Pork Chop, and I hopped out of it. Kevin had arrived at the shrine shortly before us, and was holding the sphere of light in his hands. "Well, who wants to do the honors?" I asked.
"(Oo! Oo! Can I do it?)" Spawny asked, excitedly.
"Yeah, alright," said Kevin. He handed the rabborg the sphere, as well as some dirt blocks. Spawny made a quick pile of dirt under him so he could reach the beacon pyramid, then he carefully reached over and fitted the sphere within the powerful, color-changing block. As soon as it made contact, the beam of light that was shooting up into the air began to flash a more golden color, and it began to spread all around the shrine, illuminating the dragon egg in a golden aura.
"Wow," said Liam. "That's quite a sight, actually."
"Feels good to finally have this shrine completed," I said, wiping my hands. I turned around to head back to the minecarts, when two figures behind us caught my eye. "Bruno? Molly?" I said in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
Bruno cleared his throat. "We would like to give you a token of our apology." He took out a slip of paper and tossed it to me. On it read, "Official Mojang Pardon."
"What does this mean?" Liam asked, reading the paper over my shoulder.
"Well, legally we can't sign pardons yet," said Molly, rubbing the back of her head. "But regardless, we wanted to show you how serious we are about this truce."
"So we snuck this off of Jens' desk," finished Bruno. "This paper means that we will no longer spy on you or accuse you of being frauds."
I smiled and shook Bruno's hand. "That's cool, you two," I said. "You didn't have to make it official, but I'll be sure to hold onto this."
After that, we said our goodbyes to the two and began to walk back to the minecarts. "Well, now that that adventure is over," I said as Liam, Pork Chop, and I climbed inside our cart, "it's time to return to our current garbage reality."
"Hey, it doesn't have to be all bad," said Kevin. "We can totally keep playing Minecraft in the meantime. I was actually thinking about using that Mario portal tomorrow."
I nodded. "You're on." With that, the three of us waved goodbye to Kevin and the rabborgs and set on our way home.
"So, now that the shrine's finished, what do you think is next for us?" Liam asked.
I thought about that. "I dunno," I said. "I still have a ton of questions about Buzzer and where he's from. And we found all fifteen Gadgets of Order, too. What else is there, really?"
"I guess we'll find out sooner or later," Liam answered. The minecart stopped at his house and he climbed out. "Well, see you tomorrow!" he said as I pulled out again.
Before long, me and Pork Chop arrived back home. I walked to the piglet's pen, removed the sign that was on it, and allowed him to walk inside. Right away, he collapsed on the ground, tired. "Sleep tight, Porky," I whispered, walking inside the house to log off.
[World Change: Real World]
[Location Change: Danny's House]
After plugging in my computer, I just went on my mom's bed and laid there. "Well, universe, you already trapped me inside my own house," I said. "Now give me some answers to those questions I have, like what would happen if we fail. After all, I've got all the time in the world to ponder them."

After turning off the transmission, Perinton sat in front of the computers, gathering himself. He sat for a while, sipping his potion of regeneration, reflecting on the past few months. It still seemed a little surreal that in that short timespan, Doppel had been killed, Perinton had taken over, and he has proven to be a very effective adversary to the Minecraft Maniacs. And now here he was, in the process of implementing his master plan to finally defeat them once and for all. But even then, it was a little stressful. Perhaps he needed some time to rest.
First, however, he decided to brief Andy and Mark on the next two worlds the players will visit. "Andy! Mark! Come in here!" he eventually yelled, sitting up in the chair. The two gangermen he had put in charge of slowing down the heroes walked into the room.
"What did you summon us for, Lord Perinton?" asked Mark.
Perinton typed on the keyboards. "There are two more worlds that the Minecraft Maniacs will visit." The first world he was talking about popped up on-screen. It was a bright, alternate version of the real world where dogs were the dominant species rather than humans. "In this world, I have a mercenary that already targeted Danny preparing something. As for the other…"
The next picture the two gangermen saw looked...identical to the Overworld. "Isn't this just our regular world?" asked Andy.
"An alternate version, actually…" explained Perinton. "It is called the Corruption. In this world, not everything makes sense. The basic laws of our world are bent in different areas, so use them to your advantage." The pig got up from the seat and yawned. "For now, I need to rest. Good night!"
As Perinton left the room, Andy and Mark processed what they have been told. "So, a world that bends our reality, huh?" said Andy. "That sounds interesting."
"We can't lose focus, remember," said Mark. "We need to make sure we know what Lord Perinton is planning. Otherwise, our plan could collapse like the entire multiverse if the real world merges with any of the other realities…"
[BGM: End]
[Character Selected: Buzzer]
[Current World: Ruined Future]
[Current Location: Secluded Shrine]
Buzzer and Silver looked around and sighed. Buzzer had checked to make sure that the players had placed the light into the beacon, placing the magic barrier around the shrine that allowed it to survive the eventual cataclysm. And yet, their future was still in ruins. "I just don't know what we're missing!" gritted Silver. "You found all of the artifacts, and even all fifteen Gadgets of Order! What are we missing?"
"Perhaps our future is inevitable," Buzzer said, grimly. "Our only hope would be to gather the remaining chosen ones."
"How's that going, anyway?" asked Silver.
"Very well, actually," answered Buzzer. "The last two seem to be within the same world where the Catalyst occurred, and a relative of one of the two involved in it seems to be helpful."
"Wow, lucky break," said Silver. "It's been cool doing this with you, man, but I'll be really glad once it's over!"
Buzzer chuckled. "It has been a pleasure working with you as well, Silver. But for now, it's time I go visit the relative I mentioned." With that, the fly spun around three times and vanished, heading to his last item of the day.
[World Change: ?]
[Location Change: ?]
When Buzzer reappeared, he was in a new location. He was in a rather nice-looking house, and staring back at him was an anthropomorphic gray-coated Australian Cattle Dog. "Hello, Trixie," he said. "It's time for a little more training."
The Whisker Haven Saga is over! Next time: the players vs. Exetior: round two!

Next chapter: Ready for "Round 2?" You better be - because Exetior is back, and he's out for vengeance! Thankfully, the Maniacs know who they're dealing with, so they're prepared - Supafication, getting all six main Palace Pets, even recruiting some of Danny's other friends! But will it still be enough? The first of the latest intermission!
Postface: There we go! Saga 3, complete! Besides a few things I feel like I could change, this saga was probably one of the best yet!
The reason why I named this "The Future Ahead" is because there's tons of foreshadowing for the rest of the story! For one, Buzzer and Knuckles have done the first case of the ritual where the characters are present! And the other Palace Pets' emeralds were glowing! Could they be the 'vessels' that are mentioned on Knuckles' scroll? And now Bruno and Molly have unofficially pardoned the players, so now they're on their side! Hmm...Mojang's not gonna be happy about this when they find out, will they? Finally, now that the shrine's complete, what's next? Well, for one there's that mysterious parallel Overworld - that's gonna be the focus of next saga! But that dog that Buzzer went to visit seems familiar...
