Chapter 35
Rollan's friends had reunited together with Ernesto around 2 am at the outside of Alicante at the hideout where the trolls along with the other foreign animals were hidden for the planned trafficking in the next 20 hours. The group followed Ernesto and Rollan, which were in front to secure their group a passage without trouble. Far behind Marina and Pastor were holding the group's back while checking their back in case of an incident, that could bring their group into trouble.
„How are we going to excuse tomorrow our lack of sleep?" Pastor commented making Marina shrug her shoulders.
„Just say you had a nightmare," Marina suggested. „Or we had with a friend a pajama party and ended up being awake for half of the night,"
„Or we say, we achived a good deed," Rollan suggested making Ernesto chuckle.
„You know it's not legal to search a place without a order, right?" Ernesto asked making Rollan shrug his shoulders.
„Okay you've got a point," Rollan admitted. Ernesto stopped and moved his hand up to stop the team and gazed at the entrance of the building, then sneaked at the entrance, passing next to it and took a look at the other side of the building, and returned to the door giving the group a thumb up, which now approached the brunette teen.
„Okay I stay out here and Gerda stays on the inside in the corridor while the rest gets into the building. Pastor, you watch the last door,"
„For the rest of the team, follow Kai's order," Alfida announced opening the door, so the group could get into the building and saw an empty corridor.
„On the right side at the door there's a light button," Ernesto mentioned, then Gerda searched for it and turned it on to see above the room three lamps turn on iluminating the place badly. „At the next corner, where the cages are is another button and you'll turn the lights in there on as well,
„You mean light switch, right?" Alfida asked looking back at the brunette which nodded.
„I've spent half of a year not knowing how to call a torch. I called it linterna del fuego. Also I didn't know how to call it in Spanish, at some point Alfida commented it to Gerda and both got it and told me the right word," Rollan explained earning a nod from Gerda.
„I really do miss the times he didn't know some of the words. I found it adorable how he tried to show what he meant,"
„He has still got a lot of years in front of us to learn more words he's not aware of yet. The only thing that will stay will be his accent," Alfida commented.
„I hope you don't want to get rid of it. That makes you so unique," Gerda commented embracing the boy on his arm, making him smile enchanted with the girlfriend.
„I would never," Rollan responded, then Alfida interrupted them pulling them away from each other.
„Hey, hey we gotta follow our plan. Get back in position Gerda. I will make sure your treasure will get back to you safe and sound," Alfida promised grabbing Rollan on his shoulder accompanying him to the next hall, and searched on the wall for the light switch.
„I think it's on my side," Kai commented clicking on a button lighting up the room in front of them and they saw the two dozen cages, that were in that room with various sorts of rare animals. „Woah,"
„Oh my gosh," Alfida commented, walking into the room along with the group. „I have never seen such type of animals in my life,"
„They look majestic," Kai said, then spotted in the first cage a green-colored peacock making Kai drop his chin astonished. „Are green peacocks rare?"
„I guess," Responded Alfida looking into a cage to see white cat with black spots. „Or have you ever seen a white cat with dots?"
„No," Kai responded, then watched Luta his sister's weasel pass by using her nose to track down a spurt. „You've found something, Luta?" Questioned the raven-haired boy watching the weasel walk along the corridor to follow the scent, then heard a growl of an animal and she jumped up frightened to see a wilddog hybrid growling the weasel.
„Hey Luta found Orm!" Kai warned, then went down on his knees and watched Luta hide under his legs from the wild animal, then Kai patted the weasel. „Don't worry, you're safe here," Kai assured and opened his jacket to take out a small sword and used it to try to open the lock. Luta tried to pass through the grids, then she got stuck and couldn't move on due to her large butt. Kai managed to open the door, then he pulled Luta out and she ran into the cage and jumped at Orm's face shrieking him.
„Wah!" Cried Orm waking up and noticed Luta hugging his nose. „Luta?"
„Get up Orm, we're here to save you all," Kai warned earning a nod from the troll, which got up and left the cage along with Luta.
„How can I help you?" Questioned Orm and Kai looked at Alfida, which managed to free the peacock, which began to trot around looking to check the surroundings.
„Alfida, what shall Orm do?"
„If possible lead the animals out of here," Alfida suggested making the troll salute and ran behind the peacock, which raced away from the troll heading to the end of the room.
„Open the door and lead him out of there!" Kai shouted, then looked at Luta trying to use her claws to unlock the lock of the young Princes' cage. The youngest cub opened his eyes, then recognized Luta, and jumped up running at the door to greet her. Luta managed to unlock the door and the cub opened the door and murmured at the siblings, which slowly woke up and noticed the door was open.
„Get out of here and stay beside us," Kai asked, then the cubs shrieked as the wilddog began to bark at them angrily.
„I think the best thing is to leave the predators inside the cage for now, until the other ones are freed," Marina suggested as she opened up the cage to a deer, which jumped out and headed into the opposite direction to the exit passing by Alfida, which held in her arms a cat, which got scared and ran towards the other side, where Orm ran behind the peacock, then managed to open a door and shrieked as the peacock ran in there and disappeared into the darkness, then Orm closed the door.
„Uhm that's not the exit," Orm commented, then looked at the other end, where Pastor was holding the door up looking at Orm, which had locked up the peacock at the other side.
„Let's wait for the others," Pastor commented, then Orm returned to the hall passing by the white cat, which disappeared by the door, where Pastor stood and he gave a thumb up. „The Cat left the bag!"
„That's great, the white deer I freed went the wrong direction," Marina commented, then looked at Alfida giving up a thumb.
„Gerda and Ernesto made it to let it out," Alfida warned and checked the next cage and widened her eyes enamored with the sight of the pet she encountered in the cage. „Look at this cute, little rascal," Alfida said as she spotted a dog-like orange animal with white marks on its face and black legs.
„Is that a raccoon?" Questioned Kai as he was trying to free a turle from another cage.
„I assume it," Alfida answered using her sword to unlock the animal out of it.
„I think that's a red panda, "Marina commented. „They're endangered as well,"
„I'm now having issues trying to unlock the turtle out of here. Is anyone else having issues?" Kai asked, then heard Rollan chant as he finally made it to open a cage to free a dark-red fox. „Hey didn't we agree to save the preys first?" Questioned Kai looking at Rollan, which watched the fox sniff on his hands, then he screamed at Rollan and ran away making Rollan confused and get up.
„That's an odd noise for such a creature," Rollan commented. „What did you ask again?"
„If we weren't supposed to free the preys first. Because if we do both together we're or the preys are in trouble," Kai stated, then Rollan shrieked as Luta jumped at his shoulder and got into his shirt causing Rollan to laugh at the animal tickling him. „See?" Kai asked as the fox had returned, then Kai began to shoo the predator away with his hands.
„Okay, I'll look for something else," Rollan commented taking Luta out of his shirt and placed her on his shoulder to move along the hall, then Orm returned to meet up with Marina, which managed to free a sloth and handed it out to Orm.
„Okay, if possible you have to drop him far away from here," Marina commented earning a nod from the troll, then she moved to another cage, where a monkey sat with a sad face and Marina placed her hand on the cage. „Don't worry little guy, we're going to get you out of here," Marina promised watching the monkey look up at her and place his hand on the grid, then the teenage girl held her finger into the cage, so the ape would grab her finger, making her smile.
Rollan spotted in the last cage a larger animal, then went down on his knees to recognize it as a foal and placed his hands on the grid to take a better look at it and recognized slightly across the foal dark stripes passing over his back, then Rollan recognized the reason the foal was locked inside it.
„Poor boy," Rollan commented and used his sword to unlock the cage with difficulty. Luta rolled her eyes at Rollan's lockpicker skills.
„Okay I think those were the last preys from here," Alfida stated holding up in her arms a dark-gray bunny. „Gerda, how is your situation there?" Alfida asked looking at Gerda, which opened the door and made a nod, then returned her head back.
„Safe," Gerda responded, then Alfida tilted her head signaling Orm and Marina to follow her to Gerda, so they could free the three animals they had freed.
„Wait, I managed to free the turtle!" Kai warned running behind his girlfriend leaving Rollan back with Luta. Rollan removed the sword frowning at his low skill in opening up the lock, then the weasel jumped down at his arm to open up the lock immediately making Rollan drop his mouth and Luta smirked at the boy.
„You're just lucky, cause I loosened it for you," Rollan commented making Luta shake her head teasingly and Rollan opened up the cage causing it to squeak and wake up the foal, which shrieked and reversed back leaning with the butt against the wall. „Don't worry, I'm from the good guys," Rollan commented leaning his hand close to the horse's nose. The foal leaned his nose on Rollan's hand, then the boy carefully placed his hand above the nose to caress it. Rollan crawled into the cage and showed the horse the open door, then it walked out slowly and looked around at the place, then Rollan placed his hand on the head of the foal. „Don't worry, you'll get out of here safe. I promise," Rollan said patting the horse behind his head giving the horse joy.
„Get in here!" Shouted a voice earning Rollan's attention, then he saw a raven-haired man with a beard leading Pastor into the area while holding his sword behind the friend's back.
„Pastor!" Rollan called, then Pastor felt on his knees and the man pushed him down by the shoulder.
„I'm sorry, Rollan," Apologized the raven-haired boy making the adult man curious.
„You're Rollan?" The adult asked. „You're the one, who caught Léon the other day at the port?"
„Yes," Rollan commented. „And I assume you're…...the bad guy, that has been locking up innocent beings inside a cage," Rollan exchanged comment to avoid revealing Ernesto's lies.
„So, so. Enrico was right about you. You're really curious into sniffing other people's properties where no one calls you," The man said, then behind at the corridor, where the main entrance was Alfida returned along with Kai and Marina, then shrieked as they saw Rollan standing in front of Enrico's dad and Pastor.
„Pastor! How did you let him pass?" Marina asked loud.
„How was I supposed to defend myself without a weapon?" Pastor asked loud, then Rollan lifted up his sword and dropped it on the ground putting up his hands in the air making Pastor drop his mouth.
„Take me and let my friend go," Rollan asked, then the adult nodded and removed his sword away from Pastor, which got up and ran up picking up the sword of Rollan and pointed at the villain. „Pastor! I handle this!" Rollan ordered, then shrieked as the villain smacked the sword off Pastor's hands shrieking him.
„Damn it," Pastor complained, then stepped back slowly and Rollan got in front of the sword of the villain while holding his hands up.
„Let him go. I'm the one responsible for all this,"
„Isn't anyone of you doing something?" Pastor asked looking at the group, seeing Alfida shake her head.
„We will put yours or Rollan's life in danger if we interfer" Alfida mentioned and Pastor looked back at the adult.
„You know, I've been in this business for a while. Over this time I have caught three rats spying on me and the rest of the team. Do you wonder, what happened to them?" Questioned the adult looking at Rollan, which stood there serious hiding his fear as good as he could.
„Death," Responded Rollan earning a nod from the man.
„Exactly. The last time we had other species with us our last rat, which we called Salvador. He got into this place just like you, but all on his own. To his bad luck I returned along with one of my teammates, because we forgot our delivery box for a friend and encountered Salvador trying to free all the animals of the cages. We've caught him before he left and stuck him inside one of those cages together with a feline predator and what happened there….you can imagine well,"
„Ay dios mio," Pastor commented shocked as Rollan widened his eyes at the picture he imagined from the villain's comment.
„You're lucky you've got a Jaguar there to tear up Rollan into pieces!" Alfida commented shrieking Kai from the comment he heard.
„Don't worry, a wilddog will do the job just as well," The man announced making Rollan chuckle. „You don't believe me?"
„No, it's just funny to think about how you prefer to have any random predator taking care of your enemies, instead of you taking care of it by yourself," Rollan commented.
„Why should I get my hands dirty, if I can let any of the predators do that to you?" Questioned the man making Rollan shrug his shoulders.
„Well I would do it," Rollan commented making the man smirk.
„You're really naive. Just like Enrico told me,"
„So you're really are his father, like I heard,"
„And I guess you heard that from Ernesto, right?" Questioned the man. „I know it wasn't a good idea to trust him,"
„You gotta admit that, but at least he knows what's the right thing to do,"
„Don't worry, when I'm done with you, he'll be the next one,"
„If you make it out of here alive," Rollan added making the man laugh.
„You're really challeging me to fight?" Questioned the man watching Rollan show his small sword attached to the belt and look up at the villain.
„Have you got anything to lose?" Questioned the raven-haired boy making the man shake his head amused at the sight of the sword.
„Ay, ay, ay…,"
„Pastor, bring the foal out," Rollan asked watching Pastor walk to the foal, which got frightened and hid behind Rollan which got surprised at the reaction of the horse. „I'll be fine, I promise," Rollan said patting the boy on the head, then Pastor led the horse away, which watched Rollan observe them leave.
„This idiot is going to die in less than five minutes with that sword," Kai mentioned holding his hand in front of his forehead.
„Oh I'm having a good feeling about this," Alfida said, then Marina looked at the girl confused afterward she looked at the door to see Ernesto leaned against the arc of the door with a neutral facial expression making Marina a little suspicious.
„Okay, Enrico Señor….Let's see, who gets out of here first," Rollan began making the man smirk.
„Santiago. I'm revealing to you my name, so at least you were aware to know at least something else about me," Enrico's father commented. „Any last wishes before we start?" Asked Santiago, then Rollan noticed Gerda's face glimpse from behind a wall already disguised with her dragon theme and he smiled to know she was preparing to help him out.
„Yeah I would really love to know how you look like when you're above me, " Rollan said making the man furrow her eyebrows, then he heard a woman cry and he looked back to see the dragon-themed superheroine ran towards the man and spread her wings picking the man from under the arms taking him up in the air making Rollan grin, while Pastor looked up in surprise.
„Where did that thing come from?" Pastor asked walking to Rollan, which smiled at the heroine, which smiled down at the boys.
„She has always been here," Rollan commented, then Gerda came down and dropped the villain on the ground.
„Quick, let's get out of here!" Gerda ordered watching Pastor run beside Santiago heading to the exit, then stopped as Enrico appeared blocking the door while holding a sword.
„Woah!" Pastor complained and looked back to see Rollan going in the opposite direction, where their team had already left and the Spaniard stopped along with Gerda to notice Pastor took the other side.
„Pastor, why are you going that way?" Rollan asked, then Gerda got up in the air and noticed Pastor being guided in by Enrico with a sword. „You got to be kidding me!"
„Pick up Santiago, I'll deal with Enrico" Rollan ordered running towards the three Spaniards and Gerda grabbed Santiago by his arms and Rollan took the sword away from the man and smacked the sword down, so Enrico would stop to lead Pastor forward with it.
„Enfrenta-me!" Rollan cried glaring at the teenager, which smirked and moved Rollan's sword up, so both would fight together.
„Let's get out of here!" Pastor warned the dragon-themed heroine, which watched the boys fight and he placed his arms around the foals' back, which galloped away from Pastor, then he pursued the horse and Gerda looked back to see the two boys fight and Enrico kicked Rollan on his leg causing him to fall down. Gerda shrieked as Enrico swung his sword up in the air aiming at Rollan, then Gerda growled and threw Santiago against Enrico to save Rollan from being stabbed and she got to Rollan to help him up.
„Gerda, help Pastor and the horse out of here," Rollan begged. „I will distract them,"
„Be careful," Gerda warned the raven-haired boy which nodded and ran towards the opposite direction of the third corridor, then looked at Santiago, which had gotten up to follow Rollan. Rollan observed the man get closer, then he kicked the door back and the peacock ran out against Santiago, which stopped and watched the peacock spread his feathers wide to block the sight to the Spaniard, then Enrico used the sword to cut down a part of the feathers causing the bird to mew and the two related men noticed Rollan disappear in the darkness.
„He's going upstairs!" Warned Enrico his father and Gerda took up to follow Pastor and the horse.
On the outside, Orm returned with the cubs and saw all the teens on the outside of the building and noticed Gerda was gone along with Rollan and Pastor.
„Where are the others?" Questioned Orm and Kai pointed at the building.
„Gerda came to help Rollan out," Kai responded.
„Ugh too bad I left my swords at the ship, I would have gotten in there,"
„I've got my gun and this sword here only," Alfida mentioned opening up her jacket to show it to the troll. From the door ran out Pastor along with the horse and Gerda toward the group. „Gerda…."
„Ernesto, where does the other dark room on the other side of the back entrance lead?" Gerda asked and Ernesto pointed up at the roof of the building.
„A small room with a porch leading to the roof," Responded Ernesto, then Gerda moved backward trying to find the exit to the roof.
„Ernesto, I really hope you did not warn Enrico about our plan, " Pastor said looking stern at the boy.
„I haven't but we need to help Enrico realize, he doesn't need to fear his dad when he's against him. He's mainly doing all that to earn his father's recognition,"
„And what's your plan?" Asked Alfida making Ernesto shrug his shoulders.
„I….I don't have one," Responded Ernesto, then Gerda looked up at the roof and flew up in the air to take a look at the roof and see Rollan jump above the veranda at the roof and walk above the middle of the ramp trying to not lose his equilibrium. Gerda watched Rollan in the middle of the roof, therefore she spotted Santiago leap at the roof from the veranda and took out a pistol from his belt and pulled the trigger to shoot, shrieking Gerda seeing it hit Rollan on his arm.
„Ouch!" Rollan cried placing his hand over the injury and looked back at the villain, which was approaching the boy carefully over the roof.
„You're lucky I missed," Santiago said watching Rollan flinch his teeth in pain looking at the man, which approached Rollan, while he slowly walked away from the adult.
„Father, wait!" Shouted Enrico jumping above the veranda and landed on the middle of the roof and took a wrong step and slipped the roof down and grabbed himself on the rain gutter in panic. „Papi!" Shouted Enrico and Santiago looked down at his son, which was close to falling from the building. „Ayúdame!"
„Help up yourself. I'm not going to let him escape because of your mishap," Santiago stated making Rollan shut his eyes wide in shock at the villain's comment.
„You're going to let your son fall to his death just like that?" Rollan asked, then Santiago aimed the gun at Rollan, which held his hands up, then took them down as the injured arm caused him pain and he placed his hand over the wound. „Ay"
„He's not gonna fall if he holds himself tight on it," Stated the adult making Rollan drop his mouth and so did Gerda as she heard the conversation, then she looked at Enrico, which was about to slip with his hands from the rain gutter and she took another look at Rollan, then she flew towards Enrico and pushed him up at the roof and watched the man pull the trigger making Gerda shriek as she was too late to interfere.
„Rollan!" Gerda shouted echoing in the forest, then at the moment, Santiago released a bullet from above swung a dark creature on a rope against Rollan grabbing him, so the bullet would have missed him.
„What the?!" Asked Santiago looking at Rollan being carried away by a muscular troll wearing a crown, which Gerda recognized.
„King Arrog!" Gerda exclaimed excitedly as he had appeared and she looked up at a small airship to spot at the edge of the boat two guards, one of them waving at the dragon-themed heroine. The troll swung back and Rollan used his leg to push Santiago down on the roof, then Arrog dropped Rollan above the roof.
„That was a close call," The King stated earning a nod from Rollan,
„It really was," Rollan confirmed, then tried to adjust his knees above the roof to bow down at the king. „I'm thankful for….ouch," Rollan groaned placing his hand on his arm, then looked up at the king making a small smile, warping his face due to the pain.
„What has brought you here, your majesty?" Gerda asked landing on her feet in front of the two.
„Queen Maribel was getting very worried about not knowing anything about our boys and begged me to go look for you. It's a long way and a lot of things could have happened during the trip," King Arrog explained. „And I see it wasn't such a bad idea after all,"
„Thanks to you Rollan's life was spared," Gerda commented helping Rollan sat up on the roof, then she looked along with the males at Santiago, which was trying to get up on the roof. „Should we help him up?" Questioned Gerda making the others shrug their shoulders, then Gerda slid down on the roof down at the villain and held out her hand.
„What do you want?" Santiago asked glaring at the heroine.
„I'm offering you a chance to change," Gerda offered holding out her hand out at the man. „Ernesto told Rollan the major reason you were in this business was that you wanted to make sure you and your son wouldn't end up on the streets with the money you would make normally without the help of your wife, which passed away. Her dead made you feel bitter with the time and so did you son eventually,"
„What are you talking about? I don't need your common sense. I was perfectly fine, before you decided to free the animals we worked hard to catch,"
„There are better jobs, than catching rare, beautiful animals just to make money and have them killed. This is terrible,"
„If you know a job, where the profit is the same or better than here, tell me. Cause for now this is the only job I know where making money is better. Whether it is legal or not I don't care,"
„Santiago. Listen to her, she's giving you a chance to change your mistakes. Do you really prefer to go behind the grids, than giving any effort in trying?" Rollan asked earning a nod from the man, then Rollan shrugged his shoulders and looked at the king.
Gerda took her hand down and looked at the men at the roof, then King Arrog moved his arm to call Gerda up on the roof and she got up to sit down next to Rollan to look at his injury and Enrico stood back looking at the four friends.
„Enrico, get down here immediately and help me!" Ordered the father, then Enrico looked at his father and held out his hand, then looked back at Gerda, which had covered the arm of Rollan to try to remove the bullet from his arm.
„AH it hurts!" Rollan complained shrieking Gerda, then she placed her hands on his lap watching him hold his arm looking at the injury.
„We better bring him to a healer later on," Suggested the king, then the group looked down at Santiago, which exclaimed at his son.
„What are you waiting for? Help me up!" Ordered Santiago, then Enrico looked up at the group, which observed the situation, then Gerda tapped at herself, where her heart is located and Enrico stepped away from his father.
„I almost fell into the death, just because killing your enemy was more important, than making sure your son would be okay," Enrico commented making the father look surprised at the boy, then the rain gutter broke down and he fell down and got caught by Orm and Ernesto.
„Got ya!" Orm commented, then Santiago glared at Ernesto, which dropped the man with his head on the ground causing him to hit it.
„Sorry!" Ernesto apologized and from up the roof King Arrog jumped down on the ground and Gerda carried Enrico and Rollan down to the ground.
„Okay, what are we going to do with him?" Questioned King Arrog, then he heard familiar voices and saw the young trolls running in front of Alfida, which accompanied them to the building with the remaining teammates to see the reunion of the family.
„Leonid, Igor, Ivan, there you are," Greeted the king opening his arms to give them a hug.
„Daddy!" The trolls chanted in a union, then they got off the father's arms, then he crossed his arms and the trolls noticed he was angry, then they dropped their heads down.
„Why did you enter into Rollan's zeppelin as Orm was taking care of you? We were all worried sick about you!" Arrog warned the cubs, which listened to the king carefully.
„Your majesty. The cubs were lucky to have been under Rollan's guard the past weeks. They confessed, that it was the best time of their lives" Gerda told making the king curious and look down at the cubs, which nodded and Leonid ran to Rollan grabbing him on his hand to help him up and he stood on both feet, then removed his hand from Leonid's to cover his injury again, making the cub sink his head sad at his injury.
„I had the joy to spend the time with your sons during the time they were here. They learned a few new things, they would like to show you and their mother in the future as well," Rollan explained earning a nod from the king, which held out his hand at the Spaniard.
„I see you made it to make my boys happy during the time they were with you. Thank you for everything you did for them. Even though this isn't self-evident for how they got to you,"
„It would be difficult for their age to do that on their own, so I felt responsible to take them with me," Rollan explained earning a nod from the king, which shook his hand with the Spaniard.
„The guards are here!" Mentioned Ernesto as he recognized two carriages come along with Roberto sitting on the last one along with Rollan's mother and another guard.
„How did they know about us?" Questioned Rollan, then Ernesto moved his hand up.
„I've talked with Alfida about what she would think, if we would warn the guards to come up here during the time we're in here," Ernesto commented. „She said it was a good idea and so I went to look for Roberto and explained, what happened,"
„That actually was a good idea," Gerda confessed making Kai nod.
„Another good part about this, not all animals have been freed from the cages. The predators are in there and we've got the horse Pastor brought out," Kai mentioned showing Gerda the foal, which walked between the humans and spotted the injured Rollan and leaned his head on Rollan's healthy shoulder making him smile.
„Aww she likes you," Gerda commented making Alfida chuckle.
„I think it's a boy," Alfida commented making Kai chuckle.
„I think it's because I saved him," Rollan commented using his hand to pat the horse, then he whined as he felt pain on his injured arm.
„Don't force yourself, Rollan," Gerda commented, then Leticia approached the boy to hug him, causing him to yelp.
„Mama! Le duele!" Rollan complained, then his mother looked at his arm and got terrified at the sight of the blood.
„Es loco, Hijo? Casi has muerto!"
„I'm fine, mama. Gerda and King Arrog saved me. Well King Arrog mainly saved me from the second shot, which almost hit me in the middle,"
„Don't worry, up at the boat I've got a doctor. He can heal Rollan's arm promptly" King Arrog commented watching Gerda place her hand behind Rollan's back giving him a gentle smile and he reciprocated with another one.
„Is that Gerda?" Leticia asked looking at the dragon-themed superheroine, which nodded.
„It's a long story," Gerda commented, the Leticia passed out and fell on Arrog's arms, which got surprised at her reaction.
The group watched Roberto appear along with four guards, which wielded swords and the Lieutenant glanced at Ernesto, which looked down at Santiago and lifted up his own hands.
„I'm one of the three guys you'll have to arrest. I'm just saying this now, cause without me Rollan and his friends wouldn't have saved the trolls from the cage or the other animals" Ernesto stated, then Santiago tried to get up, but got held against the wall by Orm and Alfida held her gun against the chest of the man.
„Who do you think you are to be holding a gun at me like that?" Asked Santiago watching Alfida open up her jacket, where she had hidden the medal, which classified her as a guard at King Harold's kingdom.
„I'm from the royal guards. If I were you, I wouldn't mess around with the captain," Alfida warned, then a guard approached Santiago and the criminal held out his hands, so he would get handcuffed and Enrico passed by his father to see Ernesto getting handcuffed by the Lieutenant.
„I surrender," Enrico said holding out his hands, then the Lieutenant took another pair to put it around the raven-haired's hands. „Ernesto….I think calling us out at the guards was a terrible decision, but…..thanks for doing that….Up on the roof when I was about to fall down, I saw my father didn't show me any interest as I was in danger. I had to be saved by a person I barely know to understand that there was no way my father would be more of a father to me like he was in the past. Sure he never was perfect, but even though, that father I had before my mother's dead…..this is the father I wished could have stayed,"
„Well I could have said you this earlier, but if you need any advice from someone like an adult or a sort of dad. You can visit me and ask my dad. He may not know everything but he could help you, if you want,"
„I think after the time we're going to spend locked up won't be really worth it to ask anything,"
„Enrico you haven't killed anyone. We will just be locked up for a few little years. We will have a lot of years in front of us after we have set our time,"
„Right," Enrico commented, then watched King Arrog help Gerda carry Leticia back to the carriage, then he called Gerda's attention. „Hey!"
„Yes?"
„I can't believe after everything I did to Rollan and save my father from being discovered….you still saved me,"
„Everyone is able to change as long as they try to do so, "Gerda commented. „I believe there is good in you too, your insecurity and state of life made you do the wrong things. Eventually, you only felt better if you saw others suffering,"
„There's kind of a point on it," Enrico confessed looking back at Rollan hold his healthy hand over the foal's back, and a white-dressed troll analyzed with his eyes the wound on Rollan's arm.
„What will happen with the animals?" Marina asked approaching the foal to take a look at its fur, then noticed the stripes on it and placed her finger on it, earning Pastor's attention.
„We will have to find out, where they come from and release them," The Lieutenant responded. „The one's who are capable to survive in our place may just get released to the wild without any problem,"
„What about this horse?" Questioned Pastor. „I think he's just a kid,"
„I think he would make a good fit into our team if he's trainable," Roberto commented. „And if Rollan is interested, he can be partnered with him," Offered Roberto looking at the raven-haired boy, which looked up at the horse with a smile.
„I believe we would get along well," Rollan stated, then he cried as the medicine troll removed the bullet out of his arm, then covered Rollan's arm with a towel, then looked at Pastor and moved his finger to get the attention of the raven-haired boy to show him to hold the towel against Rollan's arm.
„That went fast" Pastor commented, then heard Marina chuckle as she saw the foal lean his head against Rollan for comfort, then Rollan patted the horse and leaned his forehead on the foal.
„Good boy," Rollan commented, then pondered a little while he caressed the hybrid and saw Gerda return to the team and gazed at Pastor's hands, which were holding the towel.
„You're better?" Questioned the girlfriend making Rollan nod.
„The pain soothed a little after the bullet got removed and my new friend here is trying to comfort me," Told the Spaniard making the blonde giggle.
„You've got a brave, little friend there," Stated the girlfriend, then Rollan looked with an excited face at Gerda.
„Hey, I think I know how I'm going to call him…..What do you think about the name Valiente? It means brave,"
„It like it," Gerda responded crawling with her fingers through the mane on the foal's head. A second guard approached the teenagers and interrupted the conversation between the group.
„I just want to warn you to stay here for a while, until we have frisked the building, so we can ask you questions, before we take you back home," The guard commented making the group nod. „Thank you," Replied the guard leaving the team back, then Marina looked at Rollan and Gerda.
„Uh we're not going to lose our spot in the academy right?" Questioned Marina seeing the Lieutenant approach the group and wide his eyes in shock at the question.
„I hope this is a joke. I don't want to lose any of you, mostly you and Rollan," Roberto commented watching Marina exchange looks with Rollan and both gave each other a fist bump.
„That's great," Gerda commented.
„Tomorrow the citizens will hear about your deeds and you'll be considered a hero once again. But this time you did something BIG!," The Lieutenant said coming between him and Marina. „Alicantino Guard students blew up the cover of animal traffickers in the middle of his hometown, what do you think?" Questioned Roberto looking at Rollan and the Spaniard looked at Marina which shrugged her shoulder and he gazed back to his girlfriend which smiled at the comment of the teacher.
„The younger me would be at this exact moment so happy to know that….I'm still happy about what I reached, but….without my friends, Gerda and Ernesto's disobeying we wouldn't have got most of the pets out of here. I want everyone here to be renounced as a hero. They did just as much as I and Marina or Pastor did," Rollan avowed making the Lieutenant nod and look at the other friends, which were around them listening with a satisfied face.
„The superior is going to be pleased to hear about this," Roberto commented earning a smile from Rollan, then he made his way back to the carriage, where another guard stood and Rollan felt Marina took away the towel and the medicine troll dropped a red liquid on another towel and passed it carefully on Rollan's arm, therefore he looked at Gerda which observed the healing process of the troll.
„That was good from your part, Rollan," Gerda commented making her boyfriend smile, then he moved his free hand to pick up Gerda's to hold it and gazed into her eyes.
„I had already found something that's more important to me than any title in this world," Mentioned Rollan making the blonde smile and lean her forehead on Rollan's cheek closing her eyes, afterward the foal they had just named before nudged Rollan on his face shrieking him, causing Gerda and the rest of the friends a laughter as Rollan passed his hand in front of his face to clean the saliva off his face.
