-Chapter-35-

-Shelby pov-

Today is the last in school day for the kids before winter break. Everyone seems so psyched for break. I know our house is ready for it. Ann finally got back the other day and got everyone excited.

I love Ann a bunch but she can be too much. Like right now for example. She decided she wanted to come see how I work. Now I am being watched by her while getting stuff ready to take home.

I do not really know what she thought I would do today. I imagine Blaine will sing and so will Marley. I still have a announcement about the play to do as well. I stop gathering papers when there is a knock on the door.

"Uhh hey" I look up to see it is a nervous Ann "I-I was just telling you I am heading back home..sorry for wheeling into this place with not too much warning"

"Why are you apologizing?" She looks away and I walk toward her "Ann?"

"I know you do not really like me Shelby" I stop walking and see a tear fall down "I know that I was never the best when you were growing up..I know that resentment is hard to get rid of..I can just wheel my way back home"

"What are you talking about?" She looks up and I give her a honestly confused look "What resentment should I have?"

"You can not be serious" I still have no clue what she is talking about "You are! You really do not remember?"

I shake my head "Should I?" She nods and I take a seat close to her "Why?"

"I knew you coming alone was a bad idea" I watch as my mom walks in "I will tell her"

"Tell me what?!" My mom sighs and sits down "What? What do I not remember?"

"It was when you were about seven" Mom grabs my hand and goes on "You all were at the park"

-To lazy to do math so sometime in the past-Alice pov-

"These girls are so spoiled" Ann shakes her head while we watch the girls play "I mean if they ruin those dresses we will get them new ones"

"Yeah" I sigh as Shelby falls "Jane messed her life up so bad"

"She will be fine" Ann puts a arm around my shoulders "Could you be so kind to get us some ice cream?"

I glare at her and she smiles "Fine" I stand up "You owe me though"

I walk away and to the Ice cream truck. I get everyone's favorites and start walking back over. That is when everything slows down. I drop the ice cream as I run the best I can.

Shelby is flying through the air while Ann is behind a swing. Her eyes are wide and she starts moving. Why does it feel like we are barely moving? I get close but not close enough to catch her.

The sound of cracking echoes through my ears.

"I am so sorry!" Ann flips Shelby over and check her pulse "I-I can save her! I have to! She is not going to die!"

"The car!" Ann is still trying to get air into Shelby "THE CAR ANN!"

"I-I can do it!" I see tears falling down her face "I can do it"

-Current time-Shelby pov-

"You almost died that day" I look over at Ann who is looking at her lap "Shelby?"

"I do not blame you for a swing incident Ann" I reach over and put a hand on hers "I did not die and I do not even remember it! How can I be mad about that?"

"Because I almost killed you" Ann shakes her head as tears fall "I...I should have listened when you said no more but I just kept pushing..I kept pushing"

"All is forgiven" I move and cup Ann's face "You are forgiven ok? Let us just forget it and move on! Let yourself finally move on"

She nods slowly and smiles "Ok" Tears start to fall down her face again "Thank you Shelby"

"Now that this is taken care of" we all look at Rachel standing in the door that leads to the club room "We have Blaine waiting to sing and Brittany too"

"We are coming" I stand up and Rachel grabs Ann's chair "Let's go"

"Miss C!" I smile as Blaine looks excited "Does this mean I can sing now?"

"First let me explain the play" His eyes go wide with more excitement "We are going to do Grease! Auditions will start in February! Now Blaine you have the floor"

Blaine nods and then nods to the band.

-Blaine singing-

Oooooooo

Merry Christmas Saint Nick

Christmas comes this time each year

Oooooooo oooooooo

Well, way up north where the air gets cold

There's a tale about Christmas that you've all been told

And a real famous cat all dressed up in red

And he spends the whole year workin' out on his sled

It's the little Saint Nick

Ooooo, little Saint Nick

It's the little Saint Nick

Ooooo, little Saint Nick

Just a little bobsled we call it old Saint Nick

But she'll walk a toboggan with a four speed stick

She's candy-apple red with a ski for a wheel

And when Santa hits the gas, man, just watch her peel

It's the little Saint Nick

Ooooo, little Saint Nick

It's the little Saint Nick

Ooooo, little Saint Nick

Run run reindeer

Run run reindeer

Whoaa

Run run reindeer

Run run reindeer

He don't miss no one

And haulin' through the snow at a frightenin' speed

With a half a dozen deer with Rudy to lead

He's gotta wear his goggles 'cause the snow really flies

And he's cruisin' every pad with a little surprise

It's the little Saint Nick

Ooooo, little Saint Nick

It's the little Saint Nick

Ooooo, little Saint Nick

Ahhhhhh

Oooooooo

Merry Christmas Saint Nick

Christmas comes this time each year

Ahhhhhh

Oooooooo

Merry Christmas Saint Nick

Christmas comes this time each year

Ahhhhhh

Oooooooo

Merry Christmas Saint Nick

Christmas comes this time each year

Everyone claps and I motion Brittany up after he sits down. She smiles and makes her way down. Soon the band is starting.

-Brittany singing-

"Bah, humbug!" but that's too strong,

'Cause it is my favorite holiday.

But all this year's been a busy blur

Don't think I have the energy

To add to my already mad rush

Just 'cause it's 'tis the season.

The perfect gift for me would be

Completions and connections left from

Last year, ski shop,

Encounter, most interesting.

Had his number but never the time

Most of '81 passed along those lines.

So deck those halls, trim those trees

Raise up cups of Christmas cheer,

I just need to catch my breath,

Christmas by myself this year.

Calendar picture, frozen landscape,

Chilled this room for twenty-four days,

Evergreens, sparkling snow

Get this winter over with!

Flashback to springtime, saw him again,

Would've been good to go for lunch,

Couldn't agree when we were both free,

We tried, we said we'd keep in touch.

Didn't, of course, 'til summertime,

Out to the beach to his boat could I join him?

No, this time it was me,

Sunburn in the third degree.

Now the calendar's just one page

Of course, I am excited

Tonight's the night, I've set my mind

Not to do too much about it.

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

But I think I'll miss this one this year.

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

But I think I'll miss this one this year.

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

But I think I'll miss this one this year.

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

But I think I'll miss this one this year.

A has provided me

With the world's smallest turkey

Already in the oven, nice and hot

Oh damn! Guess what I forgot?

So on with the boots, back out in the snow

To the only all-night grocery,

When what to my wondering eyes should appear

In the line is that guy I've been chasing all year!

"I'm spending this one alone," he said.

"Need a break; this year's been crazy."

I said, "Me too, but why are you?

You mean you forgot cranberries too?"

Then suddenly we laughed and laughed

Caught on to what was happening

That Christmas magic's brought this tale

To a very happy ending

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

Couldn't miss this one this year!

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

Couldn't miss this one this year!

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

Couldn't miss this one this year!

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

Couldn't miss this one this year!

"Wonderful!" Everyone claps and she makes her way to her seat "Does anyone else wanna sing?...if not I guess we can all go home!"

They cheer and run out of the class room. I chuckle and follow them out with my things. We get outside to be hit with snowballs. I look to the see the club smiling.

Oh it is so on. I pick up a snowball and we all laugh. I love this little group we have here. It's even better when my girlfriends join in.

This will definitely be a good Christmas this year.
