Scott, Age 43

"He's perfect," Scott said, cuddling the baby close to him.

"Well, duh," Nate said, reaching out for the baby. "He obviously takes after his awesome uncle." Scott rolled his eyes and handed his grandson to his son.

"Where's Franklin?" He asked Carrie.

"He's picking up some food. For some reason, I'm starving," she grinned. Scott chuckled.

"I never saw your mom eat as much as she did after having the two of you. Almost as much as Nate on a daily basis."

"Hey! I'm not that bad!" Scott and Carrie looked at each other before laughing.

"Sure, Nate."

"Mama! They're making fun of me!" Emma took the newborn from Nate.

"They're just jealous, my darling." Emma held the baby close to her, breathing in his scent. "You are perfect, my sweet little boy."

"Did you two settle on his name? You don't have much time left," Scott said, wrapping his arms around Emma and the baby.

"Ah. Everyone's here," Franklin noticed as he walked in with bags of food.

"You mean my parents and my brother?" Carrie frowned. "It's not like I invited the whole team- or my uncles and grandparents."

"Uh… Speaking of, Care-bear. You might want to let Grandpa know."

"I will, Daddy. But I just wanted it to be us for a moment."

"And my family is missing because…?" Franklin asked, crossing his arms.

"Because no one answered their phone when I called two hours ago. We're not doing this again, Frank. Please." Scott kissed Emma's cheek and squeezed Carrie's hand.

"I'll be back in a minute, baby girl. I'm so proud of you, and he's absolutely amazing."

"Thank you, Daddy." Scott left Med Lab and went down the hall to the War Room, going straight to their video phone. He dialed a number and stood back.

"Cyclops," Mr. Fantastic answered almost immediately.

"Why haven't you answered your phone? Carrie's been trying to contact you."

"We've been… busy. What does she need? Is Frank stressing her out-?"

"We have a grandson. She was calling you, hoping he'd be important enough for you to take a break-"

"We're on our way, Scott," Sue Richards interrupted. "How is she?"

"She's… She's Carrie. Keeping it as under wraps as possible. Frank just got back with some lunch for her."

"His name?"

"I think she's waiting on all of us to be here to announce it." He saw Reed wince.

"We'll be there in half an hour." Scott nodded and hung up, rubbing his face, grateful he didn't need to deal with in-laws at the birth of his own children.

"Scott?" Scott turned and saw Emma walking to him. He took her into his arms and rubbed her back.

"What's wrong?"

"It's… Nothing is wrong. Today is a happy day. I won't ruin it for Carrie." Scott frowned and looked at Emma.

"Carrie is a big girl. And we won't ruin today if we-" Scott closed his eyes. "Emma… you know I love you. What Sinister did to you does not make you less of a woman in my eyes."

"You don't understand," she said softly. "As a child, all I wanted was to be a mother-"

"You are a mother-"

"To carry my own child, a child made with the man I loved…" Scott held Emma to him and rested his chin on her head.

"If there was a way, you know I'd do anything to give this to you."

"What if there was a way?"

"Emma-"

"Scott, please. I know it's experimental, but I am a candidate. I could-"

"Ok." Emma pulled away from him, eyes wide.

"You… Agree?" Scott took her hand.

"If it's what you want, then… yes. I'll support you, Emma." Emma grinned and threw her hands around Scott's neck.

"Thank you."

"The way I see it, if it works, I'll get a lot of sex. Definitely in my best interest." Emma playfully slapped his chest.

"I'll make an appointment in the morning. Today is still Carrie's day." Scott's smile fell.

"If it happens, I'll have a kid younger than my grandson."

"That's what happens when you have children at eighteen."

"The way you said that sounded like my dad," Scott grumbled as they left the War Room.

"I don't know if I should feel flattered or insulted," Emma sniffed. Scott smirked and kissed her hand. The two stepped inside Med Lab and went back to the private room Beast had set up for Carrie.

"Everything ok?" She asked while trying to eat.

"Everything is great."

"You didn't call Grandpa, did you?"

"Nope," Scott said as he took the baby from Nate again. "He looks just like you, Carrie."

"I don't see it," she replied, crinkling her nose. "He looks like Frank." Scott shook his head.

"I'll find your baby pictures. You'll see."

"We're here!" Frank jumped up as his parents and uncle came into the room, hugging them.

"Congratulations, son," Reed told him as he looked around the room. His eyes landed on Scott and the baby. "Cyclops?" Scott unintentionally tightened his hold on his grandson.

*Daddy. He's their grandson, too.*

*I know, Carrie. But we're family now, and the man just can't refer to me by my name. It feels…* Emma put her hand on Scott's arm.

"I think we can drop the titles here," she said knowingly. "Reed, Sue, this is Scott." Reed blushed.

"Habit. I'm sorry, Scott. It's still new to think that we're… That our children are together."

"We've been married for two years, Dad," Franklin said, rolling his eyes.

"And other than your wedding, how often have we been together like this?" Reed asked.

"Enough," Sue said, stepping close to Scott. "I want to hold my grandson." He smiled and handed the baby to her. Emma hugged him and the two watched the baby being passed around.

"Well?" Reed asked while holding him. "What's his name?" Carrie looked at Franklin.

"Christopher Reed Richards," Franklin answered with a smile. "We wanted him named after our fathers, so he'd always remember where he came from." Reed raised his eye and looked at Scott.

"'Christopher?'"

"Yep."

"I think it's wonderful," Sue said.

"I agree. And now that we know his name, I will have outfits made with his initials. Oh, Carrie. Your grandpa will be so pleased," Emma told her stepdaughter.

"Or his ego will just get bigger," Nate grinned.

"I'm with Nate," Scott smirked. "That's now three people with his name."

"I'll call him with the news in a little while," Carrie promised. "Daddy, where's Hope? Where's Uncle Warren?"

"Hope is looking for some clues about Stryfe's creation and Warren is still…" Scott winced. "He's not handling the transition to Archangel very well."

"Oh."

"I'll call him down, Carrie."

"No, it's alright. I don't want him to come if he doesn't want to." Emma lightly cleared her throat.

"How about we let you guys visit without us intruding?" Scott said, looking at the three members of the Fantastic Four. "Carrie, I'll come back in a bit with dinner for you two."

"Thanks, Daddy."

"Congrats, Big Sis," Nate whispered as he hugged her. Scott led Emma and Nate out to the hall.

"I'll go see if I can make that appointment now," Emma said before walking away.

"What appointment?" Nate asked, looking at Scott.

"Don't worry about it."

"Come on, Dad. I'm a big boy now. I can handle it."

"Be that as it may, it's not your business. Drop it, Nathan."

"Yes sir. I guess I'll go find Esme."

"Nate?"

"Yeah Dad?"

"You're being safe, right?"

"I can't knock her up-"

"I meant… Diseases and such."

"Oh," Nate said, blushing. "Uh… Sometimes?" Scott shook his head as Nate disappeared. He started walking to the elevator and to the main floor to check over his team and students.

"Mr. Summers?"

"Yes Layla?" Scott responded to the new student who'd suddenly appeared a week or so ago.

"It'll happen."

"What?"

"You'll name her Ruby."

"How do you-?"

"I just know things," she smiled. It was always how she explained it. But Scott still felt his heart beat faster. It will work. Layla had yet to be wrong about anything.

"Thank you." He hurried up to Emma's office and went in, closing the door behind him.

"I have an appointment on Friday," she told him as she hung up. "They're optimistic, but we shall see."

"Layla told me."

"Hm?"

"Layla Miller. She told me, Emma."

"What… What's the answer?" Scott grinned and nodded. "Are you sure?"

"I am." Emma put her hands over her face. "Em?"

"I never… I'd given up hope, Scott. I never thought…" Scott hugged her to him and twirled her around.

"She'll be here before we know it," he whispered.

"She?"

"Our daughter. Ruby Summers." Emma smiled and touched as close to Scott's eyes as she could.

"I think that's a perfect name for her."

"Wanna go practice making her?" Emma grabbed Scott's hand and led him out of her office and towards their suite.

A/N: This is the last of the oneshots. I wanted it to end on a happy note.

Thanks for the reads, the adds, and the favorites. Maybe one day I'll feel up to writing again. We'll see.
