Guys, I am so sorrryyyyy this is a total birthday saga. This should be a separate novella. It should have been broken in to two chapters but... I dont have time for that right now lol. Let me know what you think!
"Okay, got everything?" Trevor asked the kids as they all got in the car.
"Yes!" Eloise and Noah both shouted from the back. He smiled and kissed Eloise after fastening her in to her seat belt. "How are you over there, bud? Are you comfortable? You got everything?"
He nodded, "But Trev I can't reach my snacks Mommy made for me." He pointed to a little back that was tucked in to the back of the passenger seat.
Olivia went to get out to get them for him but Trevor halted her. He closed Eloise's door, kissing her right before he did and went around to Noah's side and gave him the bag of pretzels and snacks that Olivia had made them both.
"Here you go buddy," Trevor smiled, kissing his forehead too. "When we get out of the city Mom is gonna put a movie on the Ipad so you can both watch, how's that?"
"Thank you, Trevor!" he smiled, "you're the best."
Trevor winked, "You are!" He closed the car door and got around to the driver's side. Olivia grinned at him. "Are you okay Livvy? You got everything? Do you have your special Mommy drink?" Trevor teased, winking at her too.
She chuckled at the flask of wine that he'd made up especially for her. She loved him so much.
"Yes thank you, but Mommy might need a water for a little while."
They left Olivia's place and Trevor began to drive. The kids were excited and chatting loudly.
Olivia felt so light and happy listening to Noah tell Eloise about his school. He told her about the fun games they played and began to teach her some songs.
Olivia and Trevor exchanged smiles. He reached over and grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze. "I love this little blended fam," he admitted softly.
"Me too," she agreed, grinning as she stared ahead, hoping to make it out of Manhattan traffic as quickly as possible. "I've had the loveliest day with them both – I could really get used to it," she told him truthfully. "I thought the novelty would wear off very quickly for Noah," she spoke soft so that the kids couldn't hear, "but he loves her and he's already asked me if she can be his sister one day."
"Can she?" Trevor lifted his eyebrow and smiled.
Olivia chuckled. "Hopefully."
"Weeeee-llllll," he began, "CPS went out to see Helena this afternoon, I don't know the outcome and I won't know 'til Monday, but I don't imagine it would have gone well. I didn't hear from her so…"
"How do you feel about that?" Olivia asked him.
He shrugged and looked right ahead, "not great, I guess my concern is that if I take Eloise she'll have nothing left and she might do something crazy or hurt herself and that'll make me feel sick, that I've caused it."
"You're anxious…" Olivia supplied for him, "its alright to feel that way, but this is on her. She was given all of the opportunities to fix things – the kind of opportunities other people don't get. You've done all you can, that isn't to say not to be compassionate, but she had you, Trevor, you have never been anything but willing to help her."
"I guess," he agreed. "I might call Len's Mom, she knows what I had to deal with."
"Good idea, it's not your responsibility. If something happened to E, you'd never forgive yourself. Your daughter is always your responsibility first."
"I know," he agreed again. "Thanks for being the sound voice of reason." He lifted her hand and kissed it. "Anyway," he got more comfortable and adjusted the air. "Did you know that on Sunday we've been together for four months?" he asked, that's from the time we hung out in Chicago.
Olivia's eyes widened. "Really? Crap, I'm so bad at dates, I'm sorry…"
"That's okay…" he smiled and she knew he meant it; he really didn't mind. "It's really flown hasn't it? And I feel like its just getting even more wonderful."
"Me too." Oliva nodded.
"Livvvvyyyyyy…" Eloise called out from the backseat behind her Dad. Olivia turned behind her and smiled.
"Yes my love?"
"Can we have the movie on?" she asked, Olivia had promised them a Disney movie all afternoon – a happy medium that wasn't frozen or Noah's favorite, Toy Story.
"Can you wait 15 more minutes, baby? As soon as we get out of the city we're going to stop for some gas and I'll set it up for you."
"Okay," she replied happily.
"Why don't you teach Noah your favorite song?" Trevor prompted Eloise. She giggled, embarrassed. "Go on," he encouraged her, "do you want Daddy to put it on?"
He glanced at his daughter in the rearview mirror. She nodded with a smile.
"What's her favorite song?" Noah asked curiously.
"It's my song!" she told him. "Daddy said it was made for me."
Trevor played with a couple of dials on his stereo and a song crackled a little from the playlist replicating the sound of an old record.
He gave it some volume and turned to Liv and winked at her as she rested her hand on his thigh.
"My Eloise is like the stars that please the night, the sun that makes the day, that lights the way… and when my star goes by, I'll hold it in my hands and cry, her love is mine, my sun will shine and every night I'm there, I break my heart to please…
My Eloise… you're all I want, you've got to hear my prayers…"
"How does she actually know the words?" Olivia asked with surprise, watching Eloise with an impressed smile. She got most of them correct, struggling a little to get her mouth around some of the bigger more complicated lines.
"Cos her Daddy instills wonderful taste in music. I know Eloise is a love song, but those lines really hit me when Helena was pregnant…" he explained, "its kind of a weird thing, how much you fall for your child before they're even born…" he paused and glanced at her, "sorry… that was insensitive"
"No," she smiled, "its fine, I got to have my beautiful boy without having to ruin my delicates," she joked.
"No regrets ever in not … you know…?" he found it awkward to say the words, not wanting her to feel bad.
"Biological?" she asked, speaking softly.
He nodded, turning the music down a little. Olivia shrugged. "I was thinking this weird thought this morning, looking at Eloise's clothes, it would have been nice, I guess to have more but I don't have any regrets about the way that I became a Mom, it was God's timing if I can be corny," she admitted.
Trevor nodded. "I wish we were ten years younger, I'd give you a baby, as many as you wanted..."
Liv smiled. "Even five years ago would have been fine, but its okay, I might become a friend, like you've become a friend."
He pulled off the road and in to the gas station – the first one outside of Manhattan. "I love being a friend," he told her. "I'm gonna be really honest with you, at some point in the future, I hope that you and him will be comfortable calling me the D word…"
Olivia smiled faintly. It was still early days and she wasn't ready to admit it out loud for all of its ramifications, but she knew that it was unavoidable, out of the three of them, it was the one thing that she could see Noah yearned for the most but was constantly holding back the urge to do – call Trevor, Dad.
It already rolled off of his tongue with such ease. Or at least in the form of lies to his friends. She knew that she could only put it off for so long and she knew she didn't have the heart to rob Noah of the chance of having a father, but the unknowing was the worst – whether or not Trevor was going to be forever. It felt different to anything she'd had with anyone before … but still.
"Let's just see how we go…" Liv replied.
He smiled. "Maybe you'll feel different when I marry you."
She chuckled. "To be honest, that's probably the only time I think it'd be okay with me."
The pulled to a stop and Trevor smiled at her, kissing her lips softly "It's coming one day …"
The kids were both asleep by the time they arrived. Trevor wanted to surprise Olivia with the AirBnB he had booked. It wasn't huge, but it was stunning and charming. It was a small, brick cottage with a lot of land outstretched from the back view. The back balcony was huge, enclosed in and was the perfect area for them to spend their afternoons with the kids.
There was a pool and integrated hot tub under the balcony and Olivia was excited to swim and relax. They'd organized the kids in a shared bedroom just a short walk from where they were planning on sleeping.
Olivia took Eloise because she was lighter and Trevor took Noah and together they put the kids to bed and tucked them in. Swapping to kiss each of the children goodnight.
"I know its lame but I still use this…" he reached in to the bag he had full of Eloise's things and showed her the monitor. "I sometimes don't realize she's woken up…"
"Its cool, this is an unfamiliar place, at least this way we can be downstairs and enjoying the water."
"That sounds amazing," Trevor replied.
They settled in with their belongings. "I got you something…" he murmured as he finished hanging up some of his clothes.
"Me?" she asked with a laugh. "It's your birthday?"
"No but… it's also our anniversary…so, I wanted to buy you just a little something, but I'm really weird and unsure about it so…"
"Well, can I have it?" she chuckled. "Or are you just telling me?" she wondered with a little smile, taking a seat on the bed before laying back on her own pillow that she'd bought from home.
He smiled and picked up a white carrier bag that he'd taken from the boot of the car and leaned over her, kissing her, placing it beside her for a minute. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he straddled her. She lifted her head and kissed him back. "You are too nice to me."
"Would you prefer that I wasn't?" he asked playfully.
"No, I like it when you're nice to me," she said softly, letting her hands caress the skin at the back of his neck. She watched his beautiful eyes linger all over her face as he caressed her skin.
"Good," he replied, his tone matching hers, soft – quiet and a little bit mushy - she always gave him that gooey feeling in the pit of his stomach that sometimes overwhelmed him with emotion or made him feel like he wanted to express how much he loved her.
Or, he thought, sometimes both.
"I feel a little weird about this gift though… I hope its okay." He slowly got up, pulling her up too so that she was sitting down. He nodded toward the bag, picking it up and placing it on her lap.
She took it from him. He sat down beside her. "Wait…" he said quickly, covering a hand over it before she opened it. "I feel so weird about this but…" he stopped, noticing Olivia raising her eyebrow, "please be honest and tell me if you like it or not, okay?"
"Trevor, I'm going to love anything that you've bought for me," she replied.
"Just… reserve your judgment," he replied, "shit, I wish I'd had a drink first," he chuckled.
She chuckled too at how dramatic he was being. She wondered if he'd purchased a sex toy or something a little forward.
She pausing to reach up and stroke his short stubble covering his cheek. "I dunno why you're so nervous, you are so funny. We are more than a little intimate so anything you have bought me I'd be comfortable with," she replied. Truthfully, she wouldn't have known what to do if he bought her something as intimate as a sex toy, she knew she would be embarrassed, but the thought or the gesture would have at least impressed her.
"Okay, you better open it before I lose my nerve…"
Olivia smiled at him and turned back to the bag. She opened it up and found a black box covered in white tissue paper. She pulled out the box and saw the words ' e' in gold print. Her eyes widened, "Trevor…"
"What?" he asked, his cheeks red, feeling his forehead grow hot. He wondered if she'd find what he bought her to be tasteful or crass, he desperately didn't want her to think he was objectifying her.
She eyeballed him with a small smile as she lifted the lid of the black box and her eyes lowered, falling upon the sheer black lace bra. She lifted it from the package, her breath catching as she felt just how soft the lace was and just how delicate it was.
She could feel his eyes watching her with almost fear that she would hate it. "Is it too much?" he paused as she was about to answer, "its too much isn't it? Its okay if you hate it, god this was a dumb idea… Oh jeez, I'm sweating…" he wiped his brow.
"Stop it," she told him with a smile, "this is so beautiful…" she checked the size and grinned, "have you been checking out my underwear?" she asked, wondering how he got it so perfect.
He chuckled, "maybe, but if I say yes it makes me sound like an even bigger creep."
"Stop it, you are not a creep… this is beautiful and I love that you did this for me… thank you so much."
She put the bra on her lap and pulled out the underwear that matched the set. They were sheer in some places but she was happy for the material that covered her most intimate parts. She was bashful too, but she loved that he had the confidence to go and physically buy it for her.
"I love it, Trevor, honestly… this is so sexy to me that you had the confidence to walk in to Versace and be like… I'm buying something for my girl…"
He grinned at her, relief flooding him. "No, for my Olivia," he corrected her.
She chuckled. "Thank you but I do want you to know you don't need to shower me with gifts, I'm not that sort of a woman."
"I know," he said with a shrug, "but I guess that part of you is the part that makes me want to just spoil the absolute shit out of you," he leaned over and planted a kiss on her lips. "I love you and I sincerely hope it wasn't out of line to buy you lingerie."
"I love you too," she replied kissing him back. "It's not out of line, you're my man and I love that you did that for me, no one has ever done anything like this for me… much less designer lingerie."
His smile grew, "the best for my best…" he replied with a little shrug.
She put the things back in to the box and set the bag down on the floor and wrapped her arms around him. He enclosed his body over hers. "Wanna go downstairs and get in the hot tub or the pool with a glass of wine before we have to spend half of the day tomorrow watching every dive, jump or arm flail…" he joked.
Olivia laughed. "Sounds too good to refuse," she smiled, "I have to find my bathing suit…"
"Or not…" he winked.
"Let's just… start with them on…" she joked.
"How great is this?" Trevor asked. The lights were dim, the heating in the enclosed area was on and the shutters open just lightly to keep moisture out. He slid in to the pool water, glancing at Olivia in her black one-piece bathing suit. She sat on the edge dangling her legs.
"Its gorgeous," she replied. He went under water and swam to the other side of the pool, resurfacing and slicking his short, spiky hair back. Olivia grinned at him. He was looking very nice, shirtless, almost naked save for his board shorts. She was sure he would have lost them if she told him to.
He came back over to her, "you getting in or…?" he wondered, watching her sip her wine. She felt his hands sliding under the back of her calf muscles. The water wasn't very deep, it came up to his chest.
She outstretched her hands to him. "Come on…" he said. His hands left her legs and took hers, pulling her in to the water, feeling her wrap her body around his.
He smiled, happy and relaxed finally. He smoothed his wet hands over her face as she looked up at him with adoration. "I love you," he said softly.
"I love you too," she replied, she kissed his sweet lips and wrapped her legs around him.
They gazed at each other for a moment, she enjoyed the warmth of the decking area and the tepid water that they were submerged in. She loved the feel of his rock-hard body against hers.
"Can I tell you something so stupid?" she asked softly. Trevor sensed an air of vulnerability about her.
"Of course and I bet it's not even nearly stupid."
A smile spread across her mouth. "I hate myself for saying it because it feels too off brand for Olivia Benson but… earlier you told me you wanted to marry me one day."
"One day in the not-too-far future…" he nodded, "and I'm very optimistic I'll have proven myself and you'll say yes."
She chuckled. "If things are continuing as they are, to be this amazing, to feel this effortless, I think I would love to be your wife."
His grin grew. "I wasn't sure you were a believer in marriage, but I had hope…"
"I've always wanted to get married," she admitted, "but no one has ever loved me enough to want to marry me." She paused, "actually that's not true. Tucker wanted to marry me but it came with conditions."
Trevor rose an eyebrow, "What kind of conditions?"
"Retire…I considered it briefly but what would my life look like?" she asked, "I wouldn't cope with doing nothing and I have plans for what I would do when I'm too old for this job," she admitted.
His eyes studied her face as his damp hands absently stroked her hair while he listened.
"Just so you know, when I propose there are no conditions Olivia, I just want you to come as you are, continue being you, passionate, kind, strong – compassionate, all of those things and hardworking, I cannot tell you just how hot I find a hard working woman to be…" he chuckled in spite of himself.
"So when I retire and get in to advocacy work, you'd be cool with that?" she asked.
"Absolutely, I would be so proud to be with someone who knows exactly what they want to do, who never rests… its so inspiring, baby, you make me want to be better and I suspect you bring that out in a lot of people."
She smiled at him, her heart aching with so much feeling that she often found so hard to express. "So that life would be okay? Even after you've retired?"
"I would be standing right by your side and would support you one hundred percent of the way regardless of if I'm working still or not, Olivia, I mean that. Your success is my success and my success is yours… marriage to me is really meaningful – there's something in that corny ideal of becoming one union whether you believe its under the eyes of God or the Law, either way, the symbolism to me is serious—so whatever joy we have individually is a joy or a win or a success that we should have together."
Olivia was smiling at him, "Fuck it, marry me tomorrow," she joked. "I'm sold, you got me… let's adopt kids, I'll quit work, I'll lay in bed with you all day on the weekends and we can have sex and sleep and have sex and sleep and during the week I'll send Lucy back to her other jobs and be a Mom…but the weekends are strictly for sex and sleep," she started to laugh.
Trevor let out a peel of laughter. "You are so funny! Patience my Olivia, and I will marry you and maybe you can keep your job, but at least one weekend every now and then we could steal away and have a romantic trip."
"A dirty trip," she corrected him, both of them laughing.
"Or a dirty trip…" he agreed chuckling, kissing her lips. "I love you so much… I know I sound like a broken record, but today… was so wonderful to see you with Eloise being so sweet to her and I truly meant it when I said I loved you with your hair off your face… I hate to say it out loud but I wish I had a daughter with you, there would have been no anxieties even if we didn't work out, I wouldn't have needed to hover over you all the time and make sure everything was safe…"
"I know, but timing, huh?" she smiled. "Eloise has a Mom, she's troubled sure, but I meant what I said when I told Helena I wasn't looking to replace her."
He nodded, "Still…. I should have taken the out when she first gave me the opportunity instead of begging her to make it work."
"Because you probably loved her, Trevor." Olivia sympathized with him.
"Maybe. But maybe I just settled… what I feel with you is not the same thing that I ever felt for Helena. I feel bad admitting that, but I dunno, we become products of our families in some way or another and I wanted that traditional marriage. I didn't want her to have to work so hard, I wanted to be the provider it made me feel more masculine which sounds so incredibly glib now that I'm older."
Olivia smiled. "I think it's sweet… but I hope you know that that role does not fit for me."
"I know," he said, "but I've grown up a lot since we got married and realized that giving someone unlimited usage of a lot of my inheritance and hard earned money doesn't equate masculinity. It's just a stupid, old fashioned way of thinking. Maybe that's why in comparison I find it so hot how hard working you are. Like, you don't need anyone because you are so self-reliant, but you want to have a partner and a potential husband in spite of it, I love that."
"I just want us to be happy with the kids, I don't know if this is asking too much but I just want to have a close relationship with Eloise the way you do with Noah. I know it's different but I hope when Helena cleans up, she will be more open to that…."
"I hope so too and I know Elly already loves you, but that's anyone who meets you Liv, you always become someone's comfort person, did you know that?"
She gave him a smile, "I do know that people do warm to me, yes," she said, "maybe I developed a maternal approach to my victims and that obviously is a similar way I respond to children as well – victims need to be dealt with in kid gloves in a lot of cases so, maybe it comes naturally."
"Also maybe your upbringing has something to do with it as well," he pointed out.
"Yeah, the thing I yearned for the most I became, because I didn't want anyone else to ever feel the way I did," she admitted and Trevor knew she said it with vulnerability.
"I know baby," he said gently, enjoying their late night pool chat. It was all relaxing and easy, just getting the version of Olivia that no longer held back her thoughts and feelings around him. She was whole-heartedly herself with him and he was thankful. "But its those very things that makes you such a good Mom to Noah and hopefully as good as a Mom figure to Elly."
She smiled. "I do have some pretty big regrets about not getting to have another child, truthfully. I realized it when I was getting Eloise ready this morning, to have that again…." She smiled faintly at the thought. "I just left it all a bit late."
"We could still adopt down the track a little…" he suggested, "you know that's still a viable option, right?"
She nodded, "Yeah but maybe we're too old."
"We're only in our mid 40s Liv, its never too late…"
She shrugged. "I guess we see how things go."
He kissed her forehead. "Want to go relax in the hot tub with our drinks?" he asked, feeling her getting a little emotional. He didn't to make her emotional, he just wanted to chat.
"Sure," she smiled, happy for the change of subject.
"So…" she told him as the bubbles gurgled loudly around them, her messy braids were falling out around her face. "Your birthday tomorrow, the big 44, huh?"
"Uhuh…" he said sipping his beer.
"Got any birthday wishes?" she asked him with a little arch of her brow, letting her warm body float over until she was sitting on his lap. He smiled at her.
"Well… let me think about that," he said slowly, setting his beer down on the deck behind him. "What were you thinking?"
She shrugged. "I dunno, maybe you have a nice tradition that you do with Eloise or somewhere you like to go, something you like to do…"
He smiled at her, "Actually I was hoping I could start new traditions of birthdays with you and our blended family," he said. "Although there's some activities that I'm sure should be left to the grown ups…"
"Would you like to end your day with a grown up tradition or would you like to wake up to a grown up tradition?" she asked him with a little chuckle. She felt his hands under the water slick against the small of his back, pulling her against his half-erection.
"I was thinking I would leave that up to you… let's see how early we wake up and how early the kids wake up."
"Okay..." she whispered, enjoying the feel of him against her even if it didn't always have to lead to sex. She set her wine down and kissed his lips. "I have a couple of ideas for tomorrow, do you want me to tell you or do you want it all to be a surprise?" she wondered.
His hands clasped together behind her waist, pulling her closer. She rested her hands upon his exposed shoulders and watched his lips turn up in to a smile at the thought. "I'm going to be happy just hanging out stress-free with my girls and my boy…"
My boy… Olivia repeated it in her head, her breath shortening. She couldn't figure out why, but it hit her hard; meaningfully; acceptance of not only her entire self unconditionally, but also her son.
"What?" he asked, noticing her expression change. "Sorry, did I say something wrong?"
She pressed her lips together hard so that she could hold back her silly emotions. "Liv?" he pressed.
"Sorry," she sniffed, avoiding his eyes, smiling despite the fact that she was blinking back tears. "I'm a crybaby…"
"What?" he was confused, "wait, what happened? What did I do?" he asked, concerned.
"Nothing," she added. She gathered her composure and smiled. "Sorry, I usually keep this to myself, but I'm trying not to keep everything to myself anymore…"
"Please don't keep things to yourself."
"I get really emotional when you mention Noah like he's a part of us, I know you are really insistent that you care about him, but I dunno… it just hits me sometimes. He's been an afterthought to every guy I've been with. Its me and the guy and 'oh yeah Noah too',"
"Liv, I know this may seem crazy to you," he said sarcastically, "but you and Noah are a package and I fell in love with him as quickly as I fell in love with you. I know I'm his friend, but he's much more than that to me. I know very clearly that I'm not his father, but I'm hoping to be a powerful role model in his life if he needs one."
She smiled at him. "I've never looked for another parent for Noah, but I've always wanted someone to be a good male influence on him and I'm glad that person is you and if you end up parenting him too; discipline, calling him on his sass or his attitude or bad behavior, that's fine with me too."
He smiled. "I think the discipline thing is a conversation we'll have to have when we're both sober. I need to know exactly what your discipline approach is so that we are on the same page."
"Ughhhh a man after my own heart…" she smiled, kissing him.
"Why don't we go to bed?" he asked, "I'm done with my beer, it's not hitting the spot anymore and you look super tired after your big day with my baby."
Olivia nodded in agreement. "Its lovely out here though isn't it?" she asked.
"It is," he agreed, "Did I pick good?" he asked, referring to his accommodation booking.
"Yeah, everything you pick is spot on…" she gave him a wink.
"Good," he smiled, kissing her.
Olivia got up from up from his lap and allowed him to get out first. He took her hand and helped her out of the hot tub. He picked up one of the towels and put it around her shoulders. He gathered up the wine glass and the beer bottle from the deck and took off his bathers and laid them over a plastic deck chair and wrapped a towel around his waist.
They got in to bed after checking in on the kids who were sleeping soundly.
}
Around 4:30am Liv woke up to some crying. She was half asleep and disoriented and couldn't tell which child was making the noise. She rolled out of bed and down the short hallway to find Eloise sitting up and calling out for her Mom.
"Honey," she whispered, turning on a little nightlight, "its me, Liv…" she told her. Eloise raised her arms up, wanting to be picked up. Olivia scooped her up and wrapped her arms around the three year old, rocking her slightly.
"Its okay," she soothed her, "Liv is here and Daddy is asleep just down the hall, Mommy isn't here right now but I am, is that okay?"
It seemed to be okay, her sobs weakened to soft grizzling.
She heard footsteps down the hall and found Trevor standing in the doorway with a sleepy smile watching Liv with his daughter. "Do you want to go to Daddy for a quick cuddle?" she asked.
Eloise shook her head. She saw Trevor grin and walk away, leaving her to it. "Okay honey, why don't we pop you back in to bed with your teddy and I'll stay here until you go back to sleep and in a little while you can get up," she lowered her voice, "and it'll be Daddys birthday and you and Noah can give him the surprises that you bought yesterday."
She pulled back the comforter and set Eloise back down. She propped her teddy bear beneath her arm and kissed her forehead. "Close your eyes, sweet…" she commanded softly, not wanting to wake Noah.
It only took a minute or so for Eloise to fall asleep again. Olivia covered her over and tucked her in and turned the light off and crawled back in to bed.
Trevor was barely awake. She inched closer to him, feeling cold.
He rolled over to face her and kissed her cheek. "Thanks…" he murmured.
He wrapped his arm around her waist and drew her nearer, planting a kiss on her temple. "Its my birthday…" he whispered.
"Happy birthday," she replied, turning to face him, letting their lips languidly meet. She turned to her side, letting him spoon her, loving the warmth of his arms around her.
"Are we going back to sleep?" he asked softly.
"Yes…" she replied with a soft chuckle, closing her eyes.
"Okay," he accepted her answer and closed his too but let his large hand glide over her bare thighs. He felt her body tense and knew she enjoyed it. "Just relax, go back to sleep…" he whispered, knowing that he was awaking downstairs and there was no going back to sleep with the urge that was keeping him awake.
"Yeah right…" she mumbled, letting his hand curl beneath her to squeeze her backside gently, her flesh filling his hand.
He reached around to the front of her, letting his hand cover over the material of the fabric between her legs. "Shouldn't I be the one taking care of you?" she asked, "its your birthday?"
"Right, but it's always a gift to me when I feel you come…" he replied bluntly, his words against her ear as he began to rub her gently, feeling her body begin to relax and enjoy the feel of his hand taking up space between her thighs. She arched her back, pushing in to him, letting out a murmur of pleasure. "But…" he stopped moving his hand, "I can stop if you'd prefer…"
"If you want…" it took all of her might to expel the words, trying to seem as uninterested and as aloof as he was pretending to be.
"Okay…" he removed his hand with a shrug. "I might get up and get some breakfast," he planted a soft kiss on her cheek and made the move to get up.
"Trevor!" she hissed in a state of disbelief that he was actually just going to get up and leave her unfinished.
"What?" he asked, "did you want something?" he knew she was in a state of shock, frustration and had realized he'd called her bluff.
"Really?" she pressed, "you think it's okay to do that?"
He began to chuckle and let himself fall back against her, finding it to be all very funny. He kissed her mouth, nipping at her chin and her neck, smothering her in wet kisses, causing her to laugh softly. "As if I would do that to you," he murmured. He found his way under the t-shirt she wore, smoothing his warm hand over the flesh of her stomach and back over her underwear, letting his hand resume its position, softly caressing her letting his fingertips graze over her, teasing her as he kissed her, massaging his tongue against the space where her shoulder and neck met.
She let her eyes fall shut, a short gasp extinguishing as it came from her throat.
"Mommmmyyyy," she heard her son call out.
"Fuck!" she cursed in frustration. Trevor lifted his mouth from her neck and laid silently for a second.
"Its okay," he said quickly.
"Mommy!" she heard the anxiety in her son's voice as he called her name a second time, probably disoriented in an unfamiliar place.
"Shit, I have to get up," she told him. She rolled out from beneath him and heard him get up to go to the bathroom as she quickly made her way down the hall to her son who called out again, fear in his voice.
"I'm right here babe, what's wrong?" she asked in a whisper, "stop yelling okay, Eloise is just in bed here… we don't want to wake her. Are you okay?"
He wasn't quite crying but he was scared in the dark. "Honey hop back in to bed, its too early, Mommy is going back to sleep too."
"I want to get in to bed with you," he complained.
"There's no room sweetie, you're a big boy now and you need to sleep in your own bed." Surprisingly, he didn't protest. He laid back down with a sad little sigh.
Olivia kissed his forehead and gave him a little hug. "Mommy when can I give Trevor his birthday present?" he asked with a yawn.
"You and Eloise can give him his presents when he wakes up… close your eyes, sweetie. We've got a big day organized so you need to just try to rest."
"Okay Mommy, I love you."
Olivia smiled. "I love you too, sweet dreams." She kissed his forehead again and waited for a few moments until she heard him breathing evenly and knew he was asleep. She got up and headed back to their bedroom. She flopped on to the bed as Trevor came from the bathroom. Their bedside lamp was on. She wasn't sure if he was getting up or if he was going to come back to bed.
"What are you up to?" she asked him as he came out. She gave a yawn.
"Trying to decide whether or not to go for a run or come back to bed."
"Get back in to bed and cuddle me. I need to sleep… it's maybe just that little too early to get up."
"Sorry that we got interrupted," he said, kissing her cheek.
"Its okay, let's just … try to sleep and better luck next time."
He gave a chuckle and wrapped himself around her; his body engulfing hers. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Mmhmmm…" her eyes closed and she smiled to herself, relishing the warmth of his body. She found it funny that as a mother she was able to just switch off from romance the second her kid needed her. She was sure that it was beyond Trevor, but he seemed not to mind.
"Remember yesterday morning how you woke me up?" he reminded her.
He felt the movements of her body chuckling. "Yeah?"
"Would you be okay if I woke you up like that one day?" he asked, "or is that… too much for you?" he wondered, he wasn't sure what her boundaries were. He planted a soft kiss at the back of her neck.
"When?"
"Well… I don't know," he chuckled too, "I'd prefer it to be a surprise than mark a date on the calendar," he joked.
She considered it, "I think you could do that but… I think you'd need to make sure I'm fully awake before you go for the intimate places. I don't want to freak out on you."
"That's okay, that's why I needed to ask."
She reached for his hand and kissed the back of it, lacing her fingers with his. "I love you, thank you for thinking to ask me…"
"Of course," he whispered. "Okay I'll shut up so you can go back to sleep, beauty."
She smiled to herself and rolled over and tucked her head beneath his chin, "love you," she murmured.
"Love you too," he buried his lips in her hair and held her body against him, stroking her back until he could feel her body growing more relaxed and her breathing became deeper and more even.
Trevor slowly moved aside, careful not to let her stir. He had a shower and got dressed. He brushed his teeth and went for a quick run out past veranda down the large rolling hills of the property they were staying on.
He put his earphones in, slipped his phone in to his pocket and began to run. He ran the perimeter of the property that was fenced off a little lazily. When he got to the end of the clearing, he found a walking path in to some scrub. He slowed to a jog, following it down a little bit and found a walking track. He thought it might have been nice to take everyone for a walk in the early afternoon to tire the kids out for an early night.
He turned back and jogged his way back to the house.
He got inside and made a shopping list. He wanted to go and get some food to make breakfast, but didn't want to overstep in case Olivia had something else in mind. He heard crying again and hot-footed it up the steps to find Noah standing in the doorway.
"Hey bud," he spoke softly, it was just on 6:30am. "What's up, are you alright?"
"I didn't know where the bathroom was," he cried, "I was scared, I need Mommy…" he broke in to short little sobs.
Trevor realized pretty quickly what the problem was; he hadn't quite made it in time.
"Its okay, I can help you, it's okay Noah," he told him softly. "come with me, I'll show you where the bathroom is and what about you can have a quick shower and I'll find you some clothes. Does that sound okay?"
He hiccupped and nodded. "Ok great, come on…" Noah slipped his hand in Trevor's and he walked him down the hall until they found the household bathroom.
Noah was still crying as Trevor turned the shower taps on for him. It was a little after 6 in the morning, he knew it was around the time Noah was used to getting up. "Bud, you don't need to cry, its okay, these things happen, okay? No one is mad or upset with you. It's no problem. If you get in the shower I'll go and find you some clothes and we'll get ready for the day and let the girls sleep. We can go to the store and get some food for the next few days, how does that sound?"
He nodded with his pout as his tears still ran hot down his face. He sniffed.
Trevor gave him an encouraging smile. "Okay, come and tell me if you think this water is too hot or too cold."
"Its okay," he murmured when he put his little hand under the sprinkle.
"Okay, do you need help or are you okay?" he asked.
"I can do it," he replied.
"Okay buddy, I'll be back with some clothes," he went in to the room the kids were sharing and noticed Eloise wasn't there. He could hear some faint talking and realized she was in the master with Olivia. He made his way down the hall and stuck his head in.
"Is Noah okay?" Olivia asked, looking up, obviously having heard Trevor tend to him.
"Yeah he uh… had a little accident cos he couldn't find the bathroom. I've just popped him in the shower and I'm about to get him some new clothes." He looked at Eloise and grinned at her. "Good morning honey, how did you end up in Daddy and Olivia's bed?"
"I finded it," she grinned back.
Olivia laughed.
I smiled, "Sorry Liv…"
"Its fine, it's nice to have a girl chat in the morning," she smiled looking fresh-faced and genuinely content. She was still laying down, Eloise was sitting up in her Frozen pajamas with her messy wavy hair falling in to her face. "I'll go and sort Noah out though."
"Its okay," Trevor replied, "it's under control, but I thought I might take him to do a quick grocery shop with me, is that fine? I was going to make breakfast."
"No, I'm making breakfast, but sure… take him if you like. I'm going to need the makings for French toast and you better get som m," she told him.
"Cool," he smiled. "I'll get some coffee as well and if you think of anything, text me."
"Okay, thanks babe." Olivia told him with a smile. "I'll get up and get little miss up too soon."
"Just relax, wait for us to get back." He came in and kissed Eloise and leaned over to kiss Olivia.
"Wellllllll, Olivia, you certainly are the breakfast queen," Trevor told her as he finished every bite of his French toast, spooning the remnants of the vanilla ice cream up as he finished.
"Thanks," she smiled, "How about you kids, did you enjoy it?" she asked.
"Its always good Mommy," Noah told her. Trevor laughed at Eloise who had ice cream all around her mouth and up her arms.
"I don't need to know the answer over here…" she glanced at Eloise and laughed lightly. Elly caught her eye and began to laugh, noticing everyone watching her.
"You need a bath this morning, I think…" Olivia told her, "what do you think about that?"
"Ummmmmm…." She thought about it, "okay Livvy, but its my Daddy's birthday!"
Olivia and Trevor exchanged smiles. "Well, we better hurry up and clean you up so you and Noah can give Daddy all the wonderful gifts that you both picked out."
"Yeah! Hurry!" Noah exclaimed. He had been itching all morning to give his special gift to Trevor.
"Gifts!" Trevor explained as if the thought was crazy, "for me? WOW!" he pretended to be very shocked.
Noah giggled, "Its your birthday silly! Mommy and I always give gifts on birthdays!"
He had already slid out of his chair and was standing next to Trevor looking up at him with his huge blue eyes, excitement filling his face.
It occurred to Olivia that perhaps his birthdays had been quiet events since his divorce where he spent them alone and possibly without Eloise.
"I wanna give my Daddy the gift," Eloise said softly as if she might miss out.
"That's okay," Olivia told her, "Noah and Daddy will wait, let's go wash up okay?"
Noah and Eloise sat Trevor down in the living room, both of them climbing on him as Olivia brought in the bag of gifts they had for him.
"Okay Daddy, Elly and Noah wanted to get you this one," Olivia announced passing the gift to his daughter. "We hope you love it." Noah jumped off of Trevor's knee and looked at his Mom expectantly.
"Wowwwww, thank you honey." It was a long rectangle box. He put an arm around his daughter as she handed it to him. He kissed her forehead. "Thank you bud," he smiled at Noah who already had another gift in his hand that Olivia had given him. He began to unwrap the gift and found a thin leather bracelet.
"Look, Daddy!" Eloise pointed out, twisting the bracelet on to its back, "We drewed on it for you."
Trevor turned it over with her help and grinned. He recognized Noah's shaky handwriting. "I love you Trevor" and Eloise's message that was a couple of squiggly lines and circles but he didn't care, he thought it was the sweetest thing. "Does this mean I get to wear this every day?" he asked both kids who were full of smiles and expectancy.
"Yeah!" Elly grinned. Trevor gave them both a little squeeze and thanked them.
"Mommy will the messages rub off?" Noah asked his Mom.
"Not for a long time, its okay, maybe Trevor just wears it on special occasions," she smiled, thinking that the last thing he wanted to do was to wear a leather bracelet every day of his life.
"Today is a special day," Trevor replied, taking it out and clipping it around his wrist. He flashed Olivia a smile.
She beamed at him right back feeling content and full of warmth and love for her own little version of family that she had always longed to have.
"I did this one for you," Noah told him, shoving a flat rectangle object at him, similar to one that Eloise was holding.
"Thanks Noah," he opened it up to find a framed painting that Noah had done either at school or at home with Liv. It was four people in front of a big city block. He grinned, "Bud, this is so good!" he exclaimed.
"That's Mommy and you and Eloise and me!"
"Who's this?" Trevor pointed at a little brown circle with legs.
"That's the doggy that we can get when we all move in together!" he told Trevor, making him and Olivia laugh.
"Slow down there a little, Noah, that is not happening for awhile." Olivia warned him. She glanced at Trevor who gave her a little wink.
"Noah this is fantastic, thank you so much!" he gushed, giving Olivia's little boy a hug and a kiss. He turned to Elly and took her gift. It felt like Noah's and he figured out it was probably a similar thing. It was, he made a show out of how excited he was to have them both.
Olivia handed him a third frame. "This is the best I could do on short notice, it's cheesy as…"
He chuckled and opened it up, standing briefly to kiss her in thanks. Trevor opened up to a frame that had the words "Family" carved in to the base. Inside was a photo that they'd taken the morning before before they left the café after Noah's school day; a cute but not perfect, family selfie.
He grinned broadly. "Well guys… these three frames will be going in my new office at work so I can look at all of your beautiful faces every day."
"Come here, you two…" he nodded the children over toward him. "my two favourite kids," he smiled and drew them in; one in each arm and cuddled them close to him. "Thank you so much for my gifts," he told them meaningfully. "I am very happy to have you both, and your Mommy too," he said, speaking to Noah, "thank you for making my birthday so special."
They cuddled him back, clinging on to him tightly. Olivia waited patiently for his attention. Once he let go the kids slid off of him. He stood to his feet, balling up the wrapping paper and putting it in the bag.
"There's another gift, but I'll wait for later if you don't mind," she smiled at him.
"Yeah better wait for private," he smiled at her and wrapped his arms around her, kissing her cheek and then planting a kiss on her neck.
"No it's an actual wrapped gift," she insisted with a chuckle, reciprocating his grasp.
"I'll bet," he whispered, being silly. She drew her head back and met his mouth for a lingering kiss that she no longer cared whether or not Noah witnessed from time to time.
"We're a family now, huh?" he pressed.
"Yep, you're stuck with us," she replied with a little laugh, trying to make her insecurities disappear.
"Good," he replied.
"What can I do?" Trevor asked, milling around the kitchen watching over Olivia while she followed a recipe to cook him dinner. She was super self-conscious, praying that everything was going to work out as perfectly as the recipe promised it would.
"You can take care of the kids and get out of my way," she told him, turning and smiling at him, "you're making me feel like you're judging my cooking," she admitted, "and I just want to do this one nice domestic thing for your birthday dinner cos it'll probably be the only time of the year that I cook."
He chuckled and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck. She flinched slightly. He pulled away a little surprised and hurt. "Oh shit," he sucked in a breath, feeling bad. A chuckle finally escaped, "Sorry baby," he said, dragging his fingertips along a bruise on her neck. "I uh… left a love bite."
"What!" she clapped her hand over it, "Are you kidding?" she turned to face him, alarmed. "Oh my goodness, I've been walking around like a teenager all day long!"
"Its okay," he soothed her, "you were wearing a scarf and I swear I didn't notice…"
"I wondered why it was tender," she replied, a smile finally coming to her lips. "I can't go to work like that…"
They both laughed. "I'm sorry," he said, concentrating on her lips.
"Its alright," she let out a light-hearted laugh. "Hopefully by Tuesday it'll have eased before I attempt to go back to work."
She shrugged his fingers away from the alleged bruise she'd yet to see. His touch was tickling her and causing goose-bumps to rise on her flesh. He smiled, realizing the effect his touch had on her.
He kissed her temple. "I'll go and entertain the kids and leave you to it, let me know if you need anything."
"Thanks babe," she replied.
"Fuck!" Olivia cursed, throwing the pan of pasta in to the sink with frustration, upset with herself. Nothing was going right. She'd overcooked the pasta and the sauce tasted like crap. While she had her back turned, she'd burned it and she was so upset she could have cried.
She heard footsteps coming to the kitchen. "Hey…" Trevor glanced at her as she turned to face him. "Are you okay?" He glanced at the fry pan in the sink and Olivia looking frazzled and frustrated.
"Yeah, fine," she snapped. "Fucking great."
He stepped around the counter and made his way over to her side, "Can I help?" he asked softly, gingerly, understanding that she was angry.
She gave him a dirty look and he took a step back. "Sorry," he held up his hands in retreat.
"Can you just… leave me alone for a few minutes."
"Okay," he knew she wasn't angry with him but rather the situation. He felt bad that she had put so much pressure on herself to impress him. He left her alone for a moment and went back to the kids where he presided over a competitive game of Hungry-Hungry Hippo. He was happy he could entertain the kids peacefully without screens.
"Trevor, I won that one but Elly said that I didn't," Noah tattled on the little girl sitting across from him.
"Daddy!" she exclaimed, placing her hands on her hips, "Noah's hippos just aren't very hungry!" she told him in a very matter-of-fact way that almost made him laugh at the precociousness.
"Come on, Elly, I told you before, we only play games if we play them fairly. You don't always get to win. Noah won that one…"
He picked up his phone and scrolled through local food delivery. Pizza and Pasta was pretty much the only available thing that was close by.
"When is Livvyyyy going to finish dinner, I'm hungry," Eloise complained.
Trevor put his phone down and turned back to the kids, "how about you both play one more game and then I'm sure Olivia will almost be done."
Olivia realized none of the food could be salvaged. The sauce had curdled and the pasta was a little bit past aldente. She scraped it all in to the bin and stacked up the dirty pots and sighed with disappointment.
Trevor came back in; he was careful not to make her angry again. "Hey honey," he spoke sweetly, trying not to annoy her. "How'd it go?"
She glanced at him and bit her lip and felt her eyes fill with tears. "Ohhh noooo!" he exclaimed with a little chuckle, "its okay, Liv, don't cry." He engulfed her in his arms and kissed the crown of her head.
"I'm so stupid," she managed to stifle a sob, "I just wanted to be able to make you a special dinner," she admitted, able to snort a laugh at her ridiculousness.
"You do so many other special things, dinner isn't the end of the world," he tried to comfort her. "Please don't cry."
"I just feel mad at myself, how can I be this useless in the kitchen?" she asked, pulling away from him with a pout that he couldn't help but to smile at.
"Sweetheart, I love that you went to the effort, but if you're not good at cooking, so what? You make an amazing breakfast. Let's just order some pizzas and I'll help you clean up."
She hated that he wasn't at all disappointed; she felt embarrassed and upset. "What kind of a woman am I that I can't cook for my boyfriend?"
He gave a laugh, surprised by her remark. "Olivia, you and I both know that there are far more important jobs and places for a woman than a kitchen," he told her seriously.
She knew it was true. She let out a sigh. "Sorry Trev…" she added again.
"Hey…" he took her face in both of his hands, guiding her to look at him. He gave her a little smile. "Don't worry about it, don't apologise for it, just … recognize that you're a fucking wonder woman in just about every other facet of your life and I don't care about a home cooked dinner. I love you and I love all of the efforts you've gone to today. You've already made me feel so special."
He pressed his lips against hers. "Lemme go order a couple of pizzas and I'll make sure these kids aren't going to kill each other and I'll come help you clean up."
"Its okay," she resolved, "you watch the kids, I can clean up…"
He kissed her again. "I love you," he repeated.
"I love you too." She replied.
"What an amazing day…" Trevor remarked, looking out over the balcony at the sun setting as the kids played in the pool. Noah was already a great swimmer and Eloise was held up by the inflatable ring. He glanced at Olivia who was squeezed on to the outdoor lounge beside him. "Thank you for making this an incredibly memorable birthday."
She smiled at him. "I'm glad you've enjoyed it…"
"You bet I did. I can't remember a birthday this good. And the kids, I can't believe how well they get along…"
Olivia smiled at him. "I'm glad you're enjoying your special day."
"Truthfully, I don't think I've ever had someone make such a big deal out of my birthday before, it's … first-rate, Olivia, just like you are."
She kissed him softly. "You're worth celebrating. Life is so full of bullshit that we should take all of the happy moments and make a big deal of them."
"Thank you for doing that." He glanced down at the leather bracelet from the kids, "I know it seems silly, but I love my bracelet," he smiled at her, "who knew fatherhood would make me so sentimental."
She laughed, picking up his wrist, letting her fingers smooth over the brown leather. It suited him. It didn't look out of place. He pulled it off. She took his hand in hers and lifted it to plant a kiss. "You're welcome. I love celebrating other people's birthdays, it's nice to bring joy to someone else." She paused, "you don't even have the gift from me yet."
He smiled. "We don't have to… I'm content with everything I have right now…" he told her.
Olivia chuckled. "No Trevor, I have an actual physical, tangible item for you that isn't sex."
He laughed too, "Oh," he chuckled, "I'm sure it will be wonderful like all of my other gifts today."
He turned back to the kids, watching them play. "They are going to be so exhausted…" she remarked.
"I think its just about bath and bed time, what do you think?" he asked her.
"Yeah, I think that's a good idea…"
Trevor was tired from the huge day and was feeling very, very content. He sat in the kitchen with Olivia having a glass of wine at her urging to celebrate on their own for a short while.
She was pulling out all the stops including a delivery of balloons that had arrived just after he arrived home for breakfast. He couldn't fault how precious she'd been. "So when is my gift from you coming?" he wondered with a little smile.
She beamed at him. "You want it now?" she asked.
He nodded, "Yeah, gimmie gimmie…" he teased good-naturedly.
She laughed , "Okay wait here…" she disappeared upstairs to their bedroom. She came downstairs with a large oblong looking gift that she set down in front of him on the clean counter top with a little thud.
"I have to tell you," she began, "I bought this based on a conversation we had the first time I came to your house so… if it's off-base, let me know…"
"Okay," he smiled.
She took a sip of his wine. "I hope you like it, happy birthday."
He began to unwrap the perfect bow around the plain brown paper and noticed a card beneath it. He opened the card first and grinned at it. It was a little cute, nothing too overly sappy. He looked inside and recognized her neat, loopy handwriting and grinned.
"Dear Trevor, excited to be spending the first of hopefully many birthdays with you. I love you so much – you may actually just be the greatest love of my life. Happy birthday, my heart. Love, Olivia."
He grinned at the admission in the card and glanced at her. "Fuck…." His voice trailed off, "I love you so fucking much, Olivia Benson, I think you are the love of my life." Before allowing her to feel awkward or embarrassed, her kissed her, steadying her shoulder with his large hand, filling her mouth briefly with his tongue.
Without protest and a little urgency, she kissed him back for a few moments, wondering if they were going to leave the gift sitting there for a little longer. But no, Trevor pulled away after a short space of time and gazed at her for a moment.
"Open your gift, I might have something else for you upstairs…" she urged him softly, hoping he'd get the point.
A little smile spread across his mouth and she knew he got it. He unwrapped the paper carefully as if he expected that she might want to keep the paper. It was a book and it was wrapped in a dust proof calico bag. The title was on a small tag. The Importance of Being Earnest – 1899, 1st Ed. Signed Publication number 19/100 in print.
His eyes widened. "Are you kidding?" he asked in shock. "Olivia!" he exclaimed. He knew that this gift was not cheap and had been well thought out and well-searched. He couldn't have been more surprised. "Shit…."
"Is it okay?" she asked, clearly concerned she'd picked wrong.
"I don't even remember the conversation that sparked this but yes, oh my goodness, its amazing." He grinned, his face lighting up with joy and a little disbelief.
She smiled, bashful that he genuinely seemed shocked and loved it. "When you showed me your little library, you said that it was your dream to be able to get a first edition of Oscar Wilde and Dickens and that you'd been on the search for awhile – turns out, you just have to know how to find stuff and I happen to be a detective, so…." She gave her hair a playful flip.
His grin was so broad that his cheeks ached. "This is so special and means so much to me, I hope you didn't really put yourself out Liv, it's almost too much…"
"Hey," she said softly, reaching up to graze his cheek with her thumb. "You're not the only one who likes the person they love to have nice things," she gave him a wink. "I just really hope it's what you wanted and that it'll be worthy of the Trevor Langan book collection."
"Of course it will be, it'll probably end up in a display case cos I'm that much of a nerd when it comes to books."
She laughed.
"I'm almost too scared to take it out of the dust bag," he admitted, gingerly opening it.
"It came with gloves," she chuckled, "I thought that was hilarious but it makes sense. They're in the bag with the book. He peeped inside and pulled out the gloves that he put on.
They both laughed at how comically small the white cotton pieces looked on his large hands. Olivia sipped her wine as she watched him leaf carefully through the book's pages in awe. She felt so happy that he genuinely loved it, she knew he wasn't just putting it on for her.
Finally he carefully put it away again. He turned to her and sighed with utter contentment. "I actually didn't think my birthday was going to get any better, but you are full of surprises, my Olivia Benson."
"It's about to get even better…" she told him, finishing up the rest of the wine in her glass. He finished his too. "But we should put this somewhere safe out of the way of sticky little fingers and go and settle ourselves upstairs."
"Mmm I definitely like the sound of that," he replied.
They migrated upstairs and Trevor locked the door behind him.
Olivia turned to face him and gave him a smile. "So… happy birthday one last time, one last gift…" he took a step closer, towering over her, sliding his arms around her.
"Thank you," he replied in a low voice, his eyes hooded with desire.
She stood on her tip-toes to kiss his mouth. He pulled away just as quick as she had kissed him.
"Did I tell you just how stunning you look tonight?" he wondered, running his hand over her soft brown hair, gathering it together and pushing it behind her shoulders; his fingertips grazing her scalp giving her goose-bumps. "Your cheeks are glowing and your eyes…" his voice trailed off, "they've got a sparkle, just like you…" he kissed her back briefly.
Olivia couldn't help but to grin – he knew exactly how to dial the romance up. "Do you want to get in to bed?" he asked, motioning behind her.
"Gotta brush my teeth…" she chuckled.
He let go of her, "wouldn't want you to abandon dental hygiene." He retorted, knowing that she was stalling just to build up his anticipation.
It was working.
He followed her in to the en-suite and they stood side-by-side brushing their teeth in silence, eyeing each other off. Olivia spat the foam out of her mouth and left Trevor alone to use the bathroom.
While she waited for him she dressed down to the sexy, black, Versace lingerie that he'd bought for her. She'd been wearing it since her morning shower and was waiting for the right moment to show it off. She felt slightly self-conscious, but she knew she had nothing to worry about.
She slid under the covers just as he came back in to the room, switching the light off and closing the door. Once dressed down to his trunks and got in bed, Trevor moved over toward her, "are you not in to it tonight?" he asked, thinking maybe she had a change of heart.
"Oh," she replied raising an eyebrow, "I am definitely in to it." Olivia reached for him, pulling him close. "Come here… how can I resist this freakin' statue-esque body?" she asked.
Trevor climbed over Olivia and felt her bare skin against his. He laughed with surprise, "heeey when did you strip off?" he asked.
She shrugged a little smugly. He scooted back, pulling the covers off to see what she was wearing, confirming what he was hoping for in his mind.
"Oooooh," he let his eyes fall over the soft lace encasing her breasts. He fingered the softness of the delicate material and grinned at her, "well, I have to give myself a pat on the back, you look every bit as hot as I thought you would."
He pressed his lips against hers; they were warm and soft and her breath smelled like the spearmint toothpaste she had just used.
She was taken immediately by the aftershave that Trevor wore that always intoxicated her the most when she could faintly smell the traces of it against his skin. She inhaled deeply, taking in the sweet scent. "You smell so good," she murmured between kisses.
He laughed, planting another kiss upon her lips. "I was about to tell you the same," he brushed his lips against her cheek. She turned her neck a little to allow him some room to nuzzle his nose against her collarbone. He did just that, pausing briefly to plant small, soft kisses along her jaw up to her ear where he settled his mouth upon the skin of her neck, avoiding the bruised area that he'd discovered at dinner time. His kisses were feather light and ever-so-soft.
The goose bumps rose again upon her skin. Olivia let her eyes shut. "I love you," she blurted out in to the air; she felt it so strongly in the moment – their day couldn't have been more perfect.
"I love you too, Olivia Benson." he replied. He gave her one of his famous smiles that dazzled her every time. He went back to kissing his way down her neck, raking his fingers through her hair. She loved to feel the tips of his fingers scraping against her scalp, it always seemed to drive her crazy.
He reached down and took her thigh, pulling it up around his waist, allowing himself a spot between her legs.
Olivia closed her eyes tightly and wrapped her arms around him, gripping on to his bare, muscular back. "Kiss me," her voice commanded, surprising herself with just how much she craved his body.
He broke his kiss from her collarbone and found her lips, happy to oblige her. Trevor tasted her tongue against his. His mouth entirely covered hers as he kissed her passionately; hungrily in a way that quickly turned him on. He felt her hands cupping his cheeks in her palms, running her tongue against his lip.
Olivia heard a moan escape the back of his throat as she felt him growing hard. She let her hands feel their way down his shoulders, his arms, focusing on his strong, defined biceps. Her hands lingered over his back – his body was so beautiful, she thought briefly as her traveling touch made its way down to the elastic of his trunks. She teased him by lifting his waist band and slipped her hands beneath, giving his backside a squeeze before slipping them out again.
His hand brushed over her breast over the top of the lace of her bra. She left out a sigh, letting him know that she enjoyed the feel of his touch – it had only been a couple of days since being intimate with him, but she realized how much she missed him. She felt his finger brush across her nipple. She knew he was trying to determine just how sensitive she was feeling to his touch.
Judging by her gasp at his touch, he knew she'd liked it. He continued to brush his finger back and forth til it formed a hard bead beneath the pad of his thumb.
He leaned to one side of Olivia's body, supported by his arm against the mattress and let his free hand slide down to the bottoms that matched her sheer bra. She kissed him hard as his hand slid down between her legs, beneath the soft lace.
"Happy birthday to me," he murmured, realizing how aroused she was. He was just as turned on and recaptured their urgent kisses. He felt her grip on his flesh tighten in a way that burned his skin slightly, but he didn't mind, he loved when she became needy. As she had done, he removed his hand from beneath her lingerie and broke the kiss.
"It'll be a shame, but do you think we should lose our clothes?" he asked. He knew the answer before she replied and his hands moved beneath her back to help undo her bra. He felt her lifting her back to help. His body rose up until he was on his knees, making a show of taking her bra over her shoulders slowly, eying her with his piercing stare. She loved the intensity of him when they were making love – everything was about her despite how much she tried to always take control.
Her normal womanly insecurities had mostly left her and she didn't mind it when his eyes fell over her form in the dim light of the bedside lamp. It was a turn on to see how much he loved her, how he didn't notice all of the things that she couldn't stand to look at.
He helped her take her underwear off and set them aside. He felt her hands pushing down his trunks, springing his erection to life. Once their clothes were off, Olivia made no attempt to waste any time. She half sat up and wrapped a hand around his length, caressing him, teasing him.
He eased down beside her, letting his hand smooth languidly over the curves of her breasts, but more than anything it felt too good to be able to concentrate fully on her for the moment.
"Its okay, just enjoy it, its your birthday," she told him, his hands getting in the way of what she wanted to do to him.
He let out a gasp as Olivia's hand began to stroke him; a firm grip around his shaft, moving back and forth, covering his entire length and letting her thumb brush over his head. He winced with pleasure and let out quiet noises, letting her know how much he was enjoying it.
"Does that feel good?" she teased him with a soft, playful voice.
"Mmm, yes," he could barely speak through the sensations he felt. She smiled to herself glancing at his eyes, tightly clamped shut—his face contorted with intoxication as she lowered herself over him, letting her tongue run along his length; using little to no pressure. His eyes opened in shock as he caught her own. It drove him crazy.
He cursed but was able to laugh at just how unreal it all felt. Olivia tasted him, feeling his pre-cum lubricating his smooth head. She covered him with her mouth, taking him as far in as she could, massaging her tongue against him, concentrating on different parts of him.
"Shit Liv…." His words came from the back of his throat, low and bass-y; his brain was cloudy with lust. He felt her tongue working against him, her hands cupping him and concentrating on the rest of him. He did his best to stop his hips from thrusting against her mouth.
It all came up on him at once, the urge to come. He didn't want to, he wanted to concentrate on her, he wanted to be inside her.
"Stop, Liv," he warned her, "stop please—" they both chuckled as she gave his super-sensitive head just one more swipe of her tongue which shocked his body in to an involuntary tremor. They laughed again.
"You can come if you want…" she told him, meeting his mouth again for a series of kisses.
"I do want to come, but I want to come inside of you and I'm not done with you yet…" he was breathing hard, planting kisses between his words.
"It's your birthday," she replied.
"I know, so let me take care of you because that's what I want," he winked.
His fingertips traced their way back down between the bare spot between her legs where they'd been earlier. He felt her sucking her stomach in, anticipating the arrival of his touch.
She let out a barely audible sigh as his hand reached its destination. She felt him exploring her flesh, rubbing her slowly back and forth until he felt her rocking against his hand, trying to get more of him.
He smiled to himself, knowing that she wanted his fingers inside of her. He let his thumb brush against her the hard bead at her opening. An involuntary moan escaped her mouth and a gasp of pleasure suspended in to the air as he slipped a finger beneath her folds. She grabbed for his wrist as if she was going to stop him, but loosened her grip just as fast.
"Is that okay?" he asked, just making sure.
"Y..yes.." she stammered, nodding.
He enjoyed feeling her warmth around him as he explored her, moving in and out of her at snail's pace, making sure that all of her nerve-endings inside of her were treated to his touch.
Olivia was aware that he knew how to make her go crazy, anticipating him moving deeply within her each time he drew out of her. She wanted to tell him to go faster, but she enjoyed how it felt and she could have endured it for hours – but still, sometimes she just wanted him to fill her up with his penis and thrust deeply until they both came.
Thinking about all of this, Olivia relaxed entirely, sometimes she held back a little, holding on to the thoughts in her brain but all she could think about in that moment was how much she wanted him.
His mouth covered her breast as he moved a little faster inside of her. She loved the feeling of his tongue swirling around her nipple, paying it a lot of attention, flicking against it and making it form a hard bead.
She felt breathless and realized from his wide, open-mouthed kisses that he was planning to move down until his face was buried between her legs. Trevor loved giving head and openly told her so. She'd previously had very little experience of receiving, but as more time passed she was able to be completely vulnerable with him, allowing him access to the most intimate place on her body.
She felt him remove his fingers from inside of her as he kissed his way down between her legs, pushing her knees apart to allow himself better access. "Are you ready?" he asked, giving her a sexy smile. She returned his smile and nodded slowly, letting her head fall back on to the pillow, feeling woozy with anticipation.
He planted kisses on her inner thighs and then on her outer area. He straddled her legs over his shoulders and she felt his breath against her. Her thighs quivered and she felt his thumb against her, allowing his tongue some room to sample her briefly. It was a tiny gesture, but it sent her sinking in to the mattress, feeling her body turning to liquid.
He steadied her with his free hand, stopping her from writhing around. His tongue swiped her length, repeating his action a few times, moving deeper with each stroke. She appreciated how committed to the cause he was, his mouth covering her, his tongue searched for her clitoris and when he found it, he gave it the same service he'd given her nipples, kissing and swirling his tongue around it, inserting his fingers inside of her while his tongue worked gently.
Olivia could barely deal with it, all of her senses were heightened and she wondered how quickly an orgasm might take to sneak up on her. He lapped up her wetness, enjoying her pleasure and just how her body tremored beneath him involuntarily.
"Trev…" she murmured with haste, "Trev, I'm gonna come…"
"Come then," he urged her.
"No, I want you inside me…" she argued, trying not to roll her pelvis against him but it was useless, she was so close. Her whole body tingled and was going a little limp. "I want you…"
He planted one last kiss against her opening and made his way back up, propping himself up on his hands as he felt her guiding him in. They both gasped as he pushed his length all the way in slowly, making sure it was comfortable for her.
"Fuck…" she murmured. They made eye contact, Trevor grinned at her—both of them breathless and ready for the release.
"Fuck, indeed," he was able to joke, thrusting inside of her, enjoying her rolling her hips to meet his, deepening himself within her. She tried to take long, even breaths to last longer, but he was close too.
He slid his arms beneath her and rolled on to his back, taking her with him, changing their position. She let her eyes fall closed as she was now in control and he was as deep inside of her as he could get. He loved to watch her on top, he loved to watch her hips buck against him and her breasts in full view without restraints.
He reached up to take a handful of her flesh, letting her be in control for the moment.
His other hand gripped on to her thigh tightly, feeling her tight around him, knowing that she was so close to coming and quite frankly, so was he.
Trevor wasn't an idiot, though, he knew Olivia didn't love to be on top of him for too long, it might have felt good but it wasn't the most comfortable position for her.
Olivia was relieved when he moved her back in to his original position. He kissed her passionately and with urgency as he buried his cock as deeply as he could, pulling all the way back out to plunge in again and quickly he felt her tensing around him.
He grunted, gripping her shoulders to steady her.
"Babe, go harder," she murmured, "I'm aching for you," Olivia said softly.
He loved it when she gave him direction, he found it sexy.
She felt him following her command, rocking inside of her before slamming in to her in a way that felt on the very good side of pain when her desire for him became all-too consuming. She yelped with a laugh and heard him do the same.
"Sorry," he panted, feeling momentarily bad for hurting her but she didn't seem to mind.
Trevor's body was damp with sweat and he was in full concentration. He was working harder and faster and she knew how close he was. He thrust inside of her as deeply as he could go, with the urgency that she asked for that seemed to send them both to the precipice.
With a flood of wetness between them, he began to come too, thrusting deep within her walls, his thighs shaking and losing all of their strength. He felt his warm liquid filling her up – her hands gripped his arms tightly as her legs spasmed beneath him from the orgasm that rippled through her, lasting longer than his.
He pulled out of her and found her swollen clitoris, wondering if he could get another one out of her – sometimes it was too sensitive but other times he was able to give her a second orgasm that rode on the coat tail of the first.
He kissed her neck as he rubbed his thumb in a circular motion. She whimpered and he knew he could make it happen again. "Come on, Liv, I wanna feel you come again," he urged her, moving faster, pressing harder as he usually had to after she'd already come.
Her hips, still bucking slightly, responded quickly to his touch. "Fuck Trevor, I am going to pass out…" she laughed.
"I would love to make you pass out from orgasm," he whispered against her ear, "that would be hot…" She closed her eyes, feeling the second orgasm close.
Her eyes fell shut and she felt her body overcome once again with a sensation that she could never describe. She grabbed his wrist to stop him again, but still let him circle her quickly, making the orgasm last longer.
As her body calmed down, he caressed her, letting his warm hands find their way around her body, stroking her softly. She turned to him and gave him a smile. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her against him. He kissed her lips. Their hearts were still pounding. Olivia rested her hand upon his chest and felt his heartbeat. She sighed contentedly. "Happy birthday my heart."
He smiled, gazing in to her eyes with a small smile. "Thank you, you are incredible, my Olivia and I will not forget this day, ever."
They kissed. She rested her head against this chest, enjoying their embrace while their limbs tangled within one another, still experiencing the jitters from their respective orgasms.
Olivia relished the silent, content intimacy between them, knowing that they'd both have to get up and have a shower before too long.
