So, my Fanfiction account was hacked. I've gotten it all fixed up now, but I still have no idea why some one would want to hack a fanfiction account. Any ideas let me know.
4Gracie04 As my daughter said, that crazy boy just assumed stuff. I wanted to leave everyone with a laugh, I'm glad it worked but hope you didn't get in trouble.
Serenity1006 Yes I will be adding Lauren's storyline. Lauren seems to cling to boys. If you remember Jacob's first conversation with Charlie Jacob said "She knows exactly who I am. She was there that night. You wanna know the sickest part. She thanked me." So maybe she is so clingy because of her gratitude or maybe, like Bella, she feels safe around him. Does he hide her in his room? lol that's funny. Please remember they have cell phones in this story. She sent him a text. I imagine it read; Lauren: where are you? Jacob: Why? Lauren: I need a place to crash. Jacob: Fuck you! You were a real bitch to me yesterday. Lauren: I'm sorry okay. Please. Jacob: Fine, My place. Then I imagine she rode her bike over and stashed it behind the shed/garage.
Echo58 I'm glad you loved it. I hope you continue to enjoy the story.
Thank you for your reviews.
Chapter 34
Jacob rolled onto his back propping himself up on his elbows, Bella sat up crossing her legs, and both peered down at Lauren. She was glaring back. The upper part of her body was twisted facing them; she used one arm to support her weight and the other was bent behind her as she rubbed her back. Her legs were parted and pointing in different directions. Before anything could be said the door burst open.
Charlie glanced around the room once, then again, focusing his attention on each teen starting with Bella and ending with the blonde girl sprawled out on the floor.
"What's going on in here?" He asked somewhere between bafflement and suspicion.
The teens glanced between each other.
Knowing someone had to say something fast Bella spoke up. She blurted, "Slumber party?" giving her father a forced, awkward smile.
He did not look amused.
He narrowed his eyes. "All three of you in the living room, on the couch, now!" He ordered, pointing at Jacob, he added. "And you, put on a damn shirt." Then he turned and stormed down the hall.
Bella looked over at Jake and blushed. She could have sworn he had a shirt on before she fell asleep, she could only hope he still had his pants on.
Bella herself was wearing a tee shirt and sweatpants.
Lauren was wearing short shorts and a little shirt that looked more like a sports bra with, "baby" printed across the front of it. Last night she at least had a shirt on.
Jacob fell back on the bed rubbing his hands over his face and cursed.
Jake sat up, putting his feet on the floor he was careful not to kick Lauren. Then he reached down to help her up onto her feet and said, "Sorry."
When he got out of the bed Bella had the strange thought she should be glad he was wearing pants. That emotion was overshadowed. She couldn't help compare the way Jacob was treating Lauren to what would have happened if it was Edward and her. He would have kicked her or stepped on her, he would not have helped her up nor would he have apologized. Jacob's words were mumbled and spoken as if he was talking to a stranger, but he still said them.
Bella pailed, her hand came across her body gripping her upper arm to shield her heart from the pain it was feeling. Why didn't she see the way he treated her. She felt so stupid, so betrayed.
"Bell's, what's wrong? Did you hurt your elbow?" Jacob asked as he knelt on the bed in front of her. He gently cradled her arm looking for any sign of injury.
Lauren gave a derisive snort. "Please, she's probably just afraid of her daddy."
Looking down Bella's eyes caught the band aid across Jacobs chest, fresh blood seeping through. She gasped, putting her hand over her mouth, tears sprang to her eyes.
"I hurt you." She cried.
Jake glanced down at the covering. He cupped her chin in his hand bringing her eyes up to his. "Honey, I'm fine. You don't have to worry. I'm not in pain and I had to change my bandage anyway. Okay?"
She nodded her head but couldn't stop the tears. She felt so guilty. Not only for elbowing him but also because of Edward. It was all her fault, if it wasn't for her he wouldn't have gotten hurt in the first place.
He leaned down and kissed the top of her head. Then grabbed the alcohol, a gauze pad and band-aid tape from the top of his dresser and a shirt from a drawer. Leaving the two girls in his bedroom he headed to the bathroom.
Lauren thankfully threw her shirt and pants on over her barely there outfit and the girls headed to the living room.
Passing the bathroom they heard, "Fuck! Shit! Fucking bitch ass mother fucker! Ugg!" come from behind the door.
Bella froze and her eyes went wide. Lauren yelled, "wuss." through the door.
They heard, "shit." before Jake came out the door without a shirt or bandage on.
He looked over at Bella "Don't freak out. It was the alcohol, It just burned, I'm fine."
Lauren was staring at the laceration on his chest. It was the deeper of the two cuts. "Alright 'shit happened.' isn't going to cut it. You need to tell me what shit happened." She said lifting her hand to poke at the mark.
He brushed her hand away before it made contact. "I don't have to tell you shit. It's none of your business."
"Wow, that was the most words you have ever said to me Black." Lauren announced cheerfully.
"I'm waiting!" Charlie shouted from the living room.
The girls went to the living room and sat on opposite ends of the couch, curling themselves into tight balls. Jake finished in the bathroom and put his shirt on, then came in and plopped down in the middle.
Charlie paced back and forth in front of them. Periodically he would stop, point at them, open his mouth to say something, then shake his head and continue to pace.
About ten minutes later, Billy rolled into the room. "What's going on?"
Charlie stopped and looked over at him. "That's what I want to know."
Billy deadpanned. "Using words gets you further than wearing a hole in my floor Charlie."
The police chief scowled at his friend. Turning his attention back on the teens he tried, "What- Why-" growling in frustration he started to pace again.
"Is this how you interrogate all your suspects?" Billy quipped. "Impressive."
"They are not suspects, they are our children." Charlie huffed.
Billy helpfully pointed out, "That one's not." gesturing to Lauren.
The blonde girl's eyes went wide and she actually looked frightened. Bella almost felt bad for her.
"Young lady, what is your name?" Charlie asked.
"Lauren." came out in a whisper.
"Lauren." Charlie repeated overly pronouncing the n and giving Jacob a pointed look.
Jake rolled his eyes. He crossed his arms in front of him and looked down broodingly.
"Where do your parents think you are right now?"
She shrugged her shoulders.
"Maybe we should give them a call."
Laurn sprung to her feet. "No! Please, no. I- I could just leave. I don't have to be a part of this. I can just go." She tried to walk out of the room but Charlie stopped her.
"Sit down!'' He commanded. "It's too late, you already are a part of this."
"Charlie," Jacob spoke up. "It's really not that serious. How about we keep it in the family and I'll tell you what happened. There is no need to get anyone else involved."
Lauren looked at Jake with gratitude and sat closer to him then she did before.
"Start talking and then I'll decide." Charlie told him.
"We fell asleep watching a movie."
"That's it.?" Charlie asked incredulously. "Then what was with the nervous 'Slumber party.' comment?"
"She was joking." Jake answered.
"Why didn't the three of you watch the movie out here?"
"You were sleeping on the couch."
"What about yours and this young lady's lack of clothing?"
Billy, who was watching the exchange like a tennis match, raised his eyebrows at that question.
Jacob shrugged and said, "We were hot."
"Do you have an answer for everything?"
"I feel like that's a trick question."
Charlie gave Jacob a sour look. "It is inappropriate for you to be laying in your bed with girls." Charlie lectured.
"But Charlie, guys don't fit."
"Not funny." Charlie grouched, while Billy tried to cover his laughter. "Go get ready for school."
