Finally Gin and Vodka were back on Japanese soil and were immediately going to grab Kir from the news station while Vermouth retrieved Bourbon.
"Oh!" Kir seemed surprised but not unhappy to see them, smiling even after she placed a hand on her chest for a second.
"You two scared me for a moment there. I didn't know you were back in Japan." Kir said smiling at them when she had noticed them, being tired and done for the day after having to cover for one of her coworkers and doing her best to hide how sick she was feeling from everyone.
"I'm afraid it's a little to early for you to be relaxing Kir." Gin's voice was deadly cold and it sent chills down her spine and had her heart racing. Not that she showed it even as she felt her stomach revolt at her sudden rush of adrenaline.
"Gin? Vodka? What's going on?" Kir asked but she didn't step away from them as she kept her eyes glued on the two even as her brain raced for escape routes and trying to figure out what she had done. Had they found out about…
In a blur of movement Gin brought his gun up to bare at her and the safety was clicked off, just as quickly however she had reacted with her training and knocked the gun from his hand and onto the ground at her feet with a precise strike to his wrist.
"Jesus Gin! What is this some kind of surprise reflex test?" Hidemi asked not moving when Gin's right hand showed a safety free gun that was also aimed at her even as he picked up his beloved beretta.
"No. I'm going to have to ask you to come with us Kir." Gin said and his voice was even colder now while Kir stared down the barrels of the guns in her face.
"You know you could just ask and I'd follow you without needing the threat of a gun in my face. I trust you two so the guns are unnecessary." Kir said although her gaze never wavered from Gin's eyes and she noted how they looked. They were the eyes of Jynnan Tonnix, the universally feared 'boogie man' of humans. They weren't the eyes of her supervisor and friend who had helped her recover from her torture four years ago and had given Vodka that small confidence boost to ask her out for a date three years ago.
No he was staring at her as if she were an enemy.
"If you run I will shoot and I will not miss, but I'd rather not do that if I don't have to." Gin said coldly to her and Kir furrowed her brow as she stared at him before she straightened up and glared darkly at him.
"Give me evidence that you are the real Gin and Vodka." Kir said and Gin's eyes narrowed further at her while Vodka moved closer but she noticed out of the corner of her eye that he looked unsure of who he would be helping.
"You are in no position to be demanding anything Kir." Gin said and Kir's glare ramped up to eleven, glaring at him darker than he had ever seen her glare before and stunning him slightly with the ferocity behind the glare.
"Considering what happened last time I went with someone who demanded my presence and I didn't double check their identity…I will not go with you anywhere without proof that you are who you appear to be." Kir said and her voice was colder than either Vodka or Gin could ever remember it being and honestly they couldn't blame her for wanting to double check their identities when she put it like that.
"Our first kiss was after our fourth date. I was nervous but did want to give you a kiss on the cheek goodnight after walking you to your door because I had seen it in the American movie we watched for our second date. I was stuttering and blushing so bad that you grabbed me by my collar and kissed me on the cheek yourself hard enough to leave a clear lip stick mark and told me that you didn't mind if I kissed your cheek after a date." Vodka said making Kir relax slightly and smile a little bit, recalling that and relieved to know that Vodka at least was really Vodka.
"I owe you nothing." Gin said when she looked at him expectantly. She gave him a smile that threw him off for a moment before she suddenly moved faster than he had ever seen her move in training. Before he could even hope to realize or stop what she was doing she had already knocked both of his hands away and kicked his legs out from under him.
"Prove you are Gin now or I blow your brains out. I don't like killing but I will not hesitate if it's to keep the past from repeating itself." Kir's voice was colder than ice and Gin felt the barrel of his own beretta digging into the back of his neck while his arms were pinned by her legs.
"Fine. My real name is Edward Kuroda, my twin sister is ten minutes younger than me and her name is Emma Kuroda codename Curacao. She has an amazing memory, is Rum's right hand woman and lover and mother of his children as well as being his fiance now, and has heterochromia with one transparent blue eye. A few weeks ago she decided to put hair dye in my conditioner that turned my hair pink for a week because I kept calling her Kleine." Gin spat out looking furious even as he tried to move as if to buck her off of him.
Kir let out a sigh of relief and relaxed, climbing off of Gin and handing him back his gun which was immediately in her face again.
"Sorry Gin but with how you were acting different than normal and demanding I come with you at gun point I had to be sure." Kir said and Vodka could see as Gin faltered a little bit in his movements but still grabbed Kir's arm, making her dislodge it with a hard look.
Vodka immediately stepped in and put his hand on Kir's shoulder, earning a curious and confused look from his girlfriend.
"I have an appointment scheduled with you and Bourbon for this afternoon to discuss a few of your recent actions and behavior in regards to the Organization as of late and your attendance is mandatory." Gin said his voice still cold and acidic while Kir frowned at him.
"So instead of sending me a message or asking me to come with you for a meeting you decide to abduct me in the parking garage after I got off of a double shift at the news covering for a coworker and act completely different than how you usually do with me despite knowing my history? I don't know what you think I've done against the Organization but you're completely wrong and I have no issues coming with you to prove it." Kir said her voice sounding a bit regal now as she gave Gin a disapproving look.
"Hidemi…just please come along quietly. I got Aniki to promise not to hurt you as long as you aren't a traitor. All we have to do is prove it and everything will be fine." Vodka said softly to her and she gave him a disbelieving and betrayed look.
"You think I'm a traitor? After having an alien wearing my fathers face torture me for hours and not say a word and gladly serve the organization with everything I've got for the last four years? Despite the fact that I was literally born in MiBJ HQ and grew up around CIA and MIB agents learning the value of loyalty and other things that would prevent me at my core from betraying you all?" Kir demanded glaring fiercely at them and when she put it like that Gin felt himself waver a little bit but then remind himself that it was better to be safe than sorry, especially considering what Curacao's situation was at the moment which quickly steeled his resolve.
"I don't know what 'evidence' you have to make you think I'm a traitor to the degree of doing this Gin…but whatever it is either false or you took it out of context without double checking with me or someone else like an amateur. Did you talk to Ano Kata before doing this? Cause if so I know he definitely told you that you were wrong. But fine. Whatever. If you distrust me that much then I'll go with you and prove that I'm no traitor." Kir said giving Gin a glare and then glaring at Vodka but it was a lot softer now.
"Thank you for getting him to promise not to hurt me Koji but until this whole stupid mess is taken care of I can't tell you the surprise I had for you or else he'll probably see it as some manipulation tactic or some other way that I could be considered a traitor or something else equally as stupid." Kir said kissing Vodka's cheek and for his part he did wrap his arms around her and hold her close for a second, kissing her head.
"I know you're not a traitor Hidemi. I know you are innocent. And you're right not to tell me about the surprise right now, this whole ridiculous mess is why I can't give you the souvenir just yet either. I promise as soon as it's resolved I'll give you the souvenir and I hope you like it." Vodka promised as he held her for a moment before he gently released her and guided her towards Gin's car nearby.
"I'll be the judge of if she's a traitor or not." Gin said coldly but allowed Vodka to get into the backseat with Kir to cuddle her and hold her on the way to the warehouse where Bourbon would be waiting with Vermouth.
"Yeah like you were the judge of letting my father hunt down a dangerous alien alone? And the judge of Akemi being alone too the day she was killed? You've had such great judgements so far."
Although if Kir didn't shut up he might just go through with the interrogation here and now and possible shoot her promise be damned.
"Hidemi please don't antagonize him anymore when he's already stressed enough." Vodka requested softly and she snorted a bit and Gin felt how she glared a hole in his head.
"I'll stop antagonizing him when he stops being a dumbass and accusing me of treason."
