Hey y'all! Welcome back to 50 Nobleshipping Drabbles! So many prompts left, but we're almost done! I've been enjoying making these chapters, and I hope you guys have enjoyed reading them! I have plenty more stories planned, and I hope you enjoy those too! Also, another T rated chapter! It's inspired by the song "Secrets" by The Pierces, though made to fit the ship these chapters are centered around. This chapter will also bit a tad bit dark, mainly because of how I decided to write the prompt.
Disclaimer: Yu-Gi-Oh and all of it's characters belong to Takahashi Kazuki-sama. I only own the prompts and the one-shots.
Prompt #35: Secret. Rating: T
Zigfried was acting strange, as was Critias. Joey could tell they were hiding something, even if he didn't know what. He and his friends had been invited to join Zigfried, Leon, and Critias at the Von Schroeder summer house, and they were excited. The summer house was in Japan thankfully, so they didn't have to travel out of the country to visit it. When they first arrived, Zigfried was waiting for them at the front of the large mansion-style summer home.
"Velcome everyone! Ve're so glad you could make it!" said Zigfried, smiling. "Come! Let me show you around!" he said, turning and leading them into the house as a couple of workers started helping bring their bags in. Right away Joey felt something was off, but he couldn't put his finger on it. They were given a tour of the place, starting from the front foyer and ending in the garden. Joey quickly noticed that one of the far corners of the garden had no plants except for an old willow tree, the dirt a bit grayer than the rest of it.
"Hey, uh, Zigfried? What's up with that corner of the garden?" he asked, pointing to said corner. "Oh, zhat….. we don't really know….. ve've tried planting flowers and trees over zhere, but for some reason all except zhat villow tree just died days later...….." Zigfried said, sighing as if frustrated at the fact. Joey found he didn't really believe this, as Zigfried seemed to have a green thumb and could make almost anything grow. "Maybe you just have bad soil in that area..…" suggested Yugi, looking at the grayish soil. "Perhaps….." said Zigfried, leading them back inside.
A bit later they had sat down for some lunch. Critias helped the staff bring out food, but for some reason the knight was more quiet than usual. He was obviously happy and glad to have them there, but for some reason it felt wrong to Joey. Mokuba and Leon were running around the grassy part of the garden, and that's when Joey realized part of why he felt something was off. "Hey, Mokuba, where's your brother?" he asked, looking around for the brunette. "Seto? Oh, he had an emergency meeting he had to go to back at KaibaCorp for. Right Zigfried?" asked Mokuba, looking at the German.
Zigfired nodded. "Yes…. I vas zhe one who answered zhe phone vhen ve got zhe call and who told Mokuba about it…. It must've been quite zhe emergency, as he hasn't come back yet..… I do hope everyzhing is alright….." he said, though Joey caught the small smile on the German's face. He had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach, and he just knew Zigfried and possibly Critias as well were hiding something.
That night, Joey snuck out while everyone was asleep. He had to figure out why he had such a bad feeling about being in the summer house. Their story about Kaiba made no sense either, as the brunette could easily help the company from his laptop thanks to how advanced KaibaCorp tech was. He knew the best place to check first was the corner of the garden with the old willow tree. He slowly snuck out to the garden and snuck over to the corner, moving under the branches so he was under the tree. The branches created a curtain that blocked out the moonlight, so he had to use the flashlight on his phone to see.
The first thing he noticed in the dim light was the shovel leaning against the tree. There was dirt smeared on it, as if it had been used recently. Also under the tree was a small mound of freshly packed dirt. Joey raised an eyebrow, looking at it. It was long and rectangular, resembling….. he quickly shook his head of his thought and began brushing away the dirt on the mound. It was packed, but soft and easy to move. He continued removing dirt, then froze and covered his mouth to keep from screaming, his eyes widening.
It was Kaiba. The brunette's skin was ghostly pale and his normally brilliant sapphire eyes were dull and lifeless. Several stab wounds were visible on the CEO's chest, still bright red. Joey shakily reached out a hand to one of the wounds, then drew back as he felt it was still slightly wet. I have to warn the others! He thought, standing and turning to run back inside. However, as he turned Critias hit him with the shovel, knocking him to the ground.
"You couldn't stay avay, could you?" asked Zigfried, kneeling down beside Joey. The blonde quickly caught sight of the knife in the German's hand. "Zhis is for zhe good of zhe companies..….." Zigfried said, smirking. "I-I won't tell anyone! I-I promise!" said Joey, managing to get to his hands and knees, fear in his eyes and voice. "Ve know Joseph….. after all… you can't tell a secret vhen you're dead..…"
Done! Oh my god, this might be the longest chapter I've written for this story…..
