Life often worked in strange ways. That proved no less true with this. Hydra had achieved a major goal here. Through their many allies the flag smashers the globalists Islam and so on they'd perpetrated a great conspiracy that had already affected history. And now they'd offed an entire group of the anti American population. The vast majority of which didn't want to be here in the first place. Now the vicious cycle had finally ended. Now true justice could be rendered.

Cap sat at his Kirby cabin desk in thought. Had skull been able to do what he couldn't? Cap could have done it; given the order. It's like he had told him during that fancy little brawl they'd had; a brawl that had really been temporal misdirection. Skull likely realized he could have done it. It was more that skull had spared cap from having to make that hard choice. What was hard and last resort for cap to do was nothing for skull to do. It was that simple in the end. Like Thanos.

The situation had stabilized dramatically in the days since the new media labeled "black death" had occurred. Crime had dropped significantly. The war had all but halted. It seemed skull had sensed what needed to be done and did it. He'd realized the vicious cycle of white guilt would plague America forever. Until some equivalent Newtonian social force stopped it it would go on forever without end to the ruination of all.

That's what skull had done. He'd been the Thanos to that situation.

The rest of America's nonwhite population? There were already indicating they would leave America in sharp droves. America's population had already dropped tens of millions; now it would drop even more in the months ahead.

In many ways it was done. They had nearly won the war; save for what hydra still had in store for things. But the American nation state itself was structurally intact. That much was evident. It was still something. Cap could never thank skull for it...but he was glad it had worked out for the new America's favor too.

Sharon came in. "Am I bothering you?" "Never." The door closed behind her. She leaned against a carrier bulkhead and folded her arms before her. "They wanna make you Captain America again." "No way Sharon. I'm done with that. I'm Nomad now." "I know. That's what I told them. I think they get that." "If they wanna make someone else that then fine. Bucky would be perfect for it." "They offered it to him. He said you or no one." Cap smiled a little at that. That was his sentiment on it too. It seemed most of the rebels agreed. And that would be the view of the new American republic as well.

The republic of America... Just hearing that made cap happy. We were the second founders... we finished what the previous generations couldn't. Although it was our enemy that did it in the end we still were in the process of making it right; as it should have been done long ago. Not a problem now.

Sharon "They wanna fast track the new republic." Cap drank some coffee. "I completely understand. I would too. Law and order need to be reestablished in fullness. And they will." She took his hand. "It will now. It's sad what happened; but something decisive needed to happen; and it did. Our posterity will have a future now worth having. I can live with that." Cap kissed her hand. "So can I."
