They were driving for the Lake House like an apocalypse was coming and they had to survive the oncoming storm. Ianto in the lead so if there was a problem with the pups he could pull over and Jack would now to pull over as well. Ianto did not expect any and so far they were asleep happily snuffled with their mother.
Ringo, Jill and Hawk were in the other car with Jack. Ton and Angel to follow next week when Walter comes for the second week of their holidays. It will work out perfect, the second week of the holidays, and the middle of it full of noise, blister and kids. John had asked if he could come too, remembering the promise that Harley and Imp could have their tents out. With Owen and Toshiko bringing their flash house bus with their little darlings it would be so busy. Then the third week so quiet to settle once more.
The lists on the fridge, table and in the guard house told everyone what they had to do while Ianto and Jack were away, who to ring and who to blame of things went wrong. Ianto had highlighted parts and the scrawl of a certain superhero on the bottom of one telling them DO NOT SET IT ALL ON FIRE was also highlighted.
The guys had taken photos of it with gushing glee. Yeah… even Jack was now seeing the error of their ways there and Ianto knew the tears and tantrums would be epic before this child learned some humility…and that was just from the other guys.
Denbae loved Hawk, they were about the same size now. Their laughter contagious as Hawk decided Denbae was not an arch enemy, rather the crazy tech guy for emergencies and the little wheelchair he used sometimes during 'growth' procedures was a firm favourite.
Ianto made a mental note to remind Jack to put their big tent in he had got recently as well, maybe the older kids might like to camp as well, let them be in charge of the fire pit… if Owen would let them. More likely he would be in charge and using too much accelerant as per usual.
Another fun time to be had by all.
Ianto had been ready, packed and wanting to go since early this morning, the Lake House calling out to him as he ached to dig into the garden out there. Just the sound of the water lapping at the shore, the distant noise of the birds and occasional splash of a Ringo Dog leaping off the deck while Hawk and Jack argue over fishing poles out on the boat.
Ringo does not like the boat after all, that life jacket now placed aside for Ozzy maybe.
Ianto drove with growing glee... Soon be there.
