A/N Hey, guys. I want to welcome you back to more of Godzilla Meet The Civilians fanfic series. First of all, I want to thank user TFSTARFIRE and guest Train123 for the reviews so far in the previous chapter. I know I have a habit of saying thank you a lot of times, but whenever I say it, I really do mean it. Second, I want to apologize for a little update because I'm wrapping up my final semester in the next couple of weeks. Third, this is the thirty-fifth chapter of the third and final arc. And fourth, this chapter focuses on Will and his friends going to Pensacola and they split up to find Bernie Hayes, Ilene Andrews, Nathan Lind, and Jia. Anyway, this is the thirty-fifth chapter, and here we go.

Monarch Relief Camp, Pensacola, Florida, May 15th, 2024
After arriving in Pensacola, Will, Bianca, and Sonya make their first stop at the Monarch Relief Camp, a camp set up and organized to help and treat the injured from Godzilla's sudden attack at the Apex Cybernetics facility on two nights ago.
Wearing their jackets with their badges on them, the three friends walked past the employees and volunteers until they find Mark, and his expression says it all.
"Mark!" Will called.
The widowed husband and father turned around and spotted the three colleagues of Monarch walking over towards him.
"What are you guys doing here?" asked Mark.
"It's good to you see too." Sonya replied.
"We heard about Godzilla's attack two nights ago at the Apex Cybernetics facility and we thought we should come to Pensacola and tell you about it, but I guess Maddie already told you about it." said Will.
"I've already dealt enough stress as it is. Godzilla's on a rampage and he's attacking people, but we don't know why." said Mark.
"Have you seen Maddie today?" asked Bianca.
"She went home. She really wanted answers about Godzilla's sudden attack, but I couldn't give her the answers she wanted." Mark replied.
"I think we should go talk to Maddie. We do need answers too." said Sonya.
"I agree. But we should be careful of what we're gonna say when we see her." Will agreed before he turned back to Mark, "It was good to see you, Mark."
"You too. Take care out there." said Mark.
Will, Bianca, and Sonya head to the Russell residence in hopes to talk to Maddie, despite not being able to keep in touch with each other for the past five years.
Arriving at the front door, Will pressed the doorbell, hoping that Maddie would answer it. As he pressed it, he and his friends wondered what Maddie will look like.
After five minutes, Maddie opened the front door and recognized the three people she hasn't seen in the past five years.
"How you doing, kiddo?" asked Will as he embraced Maddie.
"Doctor Carter, it's so good to see you." said Maddie.
"You too, Maddie." said Will as he pulled away.
Bianca and Sonya embraced Maddie, having seen her as their little sister to them.
"You're so grown up now. I can't really tell if it's the same 12 year old kid we first met five years ago." said Sonya.
"Come in." said Maddie as she stepped aside.
The three friends and colleagues entered the residence and took off their shoes before they followed Maddie to her bedroom.
"So you guys heard about Godzilla's attack two nights ago?" asked Maddie.
"We did. We thought about coming here in Pensacola and talk to you about it." Will replied.
"I tried to talk to my dad about it, but he just brushed me off." said Maddie.
Bianca and Sonya drew their attention to the pinboard, with different news articles pinned to the board regarding the events that took place five years ago.
"Why would Godzilla just show up out of nowhere and attack a facility?" asked Will.
"I don't know. Godzilla would just attack if something provoked him." Maddie replied.
Sonya picked up a book with the title Hollow Earth by Nathan Lind scribbed on the front cover. She recalled seeing reports of him working for Monarch sometime ago, but he left the organization and became a Hollow Earth investigator. She also recalled hearing rumors that his brother died while investigating the Hollow Earth. She then takes her phone out of her jacket and dialed the number she searched up, but there was no answer.
Bianca then picked up a magazine with the article about Doctor Ilene Andrews, the Kong whisperer, written on the front page. She had heard rumors about Ilene Andrews adopting and raising a deaf child named Jia, who could only communicate with sign language.
"Bee, Sony, you guys got something?" asked Will.
"Something about a Hollow Earth that lies within our world." Sonya replied.
"I never heard about that place. It's been kept entirely off the books and documents we read while we went through the research papers." said Will.
"Not anymore. Former Monarch employee Nathan Lind wrote a book about it and everyone thinks he's delusional or something." said Sonya.
"I also found something about Doctor Ilene Andrews. She adopted a deaf child named Jia, who came from two local Iwi natives on a place called Skull Island. Otherwise known as a home to Kong." said Bianca.
"Is there a way we can contact this Nathan Lind and Ilene Andrews?" asked Will.
"Not likely. I tried to call the phone number I searched up, but there's no answer on the end of the other line." Sonya replied.
"What's the plan, Doctor Carter?" asked Bianca.
"I think we need to find out more about this Hollow Earth. But we need to split up so we could seek out the answers we're looking for." Will replied.
"Split up? Are you crazy? We need to stick together on this situation." Sonya reminded.
"There's no other options available. We need to find out what provoked Godzilla to attack the Apex Cybernetics facility two nights ago." said Will.
"Will's right, Sonya. We've been sticking together ten years ago in 2014. I think we need to find the answers we're looking for and uncover something sinister." Bianca agreed.
"I know someone who can take us to find the podcast host and Apex Cybernetics employee Bernie Hayes." said Maddie.
"Okay then, that's settled. I'm gonna go with Maddie to find this Bernie Hayes person. Bianca, Sonya, you guys go with each other and find Nathan Lind and Ilene Andrews." said Will.
"There's no way to contact Doctor Nathan Lind and Doctor Ilene Andrews." said Bianca.
"Maybe Mark knows. Contact him and see if you can arrange a transportation to the Skull Island." Will finished.
With the decision made and the plan formulated, the three friends and colleagues split up to find the people they're looking for, hoping that they will get the answers they want.
And that will be the end of the thirty-fifth chapter for now. So what do you guys think of the chapter so far? Love it? Hate it? I had to think about on how to make this chapter look realistic as possible, just like the movie itself. Spring break got cancelled for me last month, and school's been a nightmare. But I'll do my best to update this since I can either wait for the release of the movie's novelization or the download because it's only available for rent at home right now. Thirty-sixth chapter is coming up soon, and the first showdown between Godzilla and Kong will begin.
