A/N: Wrote a tiny something to go along with some art I did on Tumblr. You can see it there, or on my AO3. I'm trying to force myself to draw, so if you have a Tumblr you can send me prompts there based on a post I made. Direct link is also on my AO3.
Enjoy the fluff.

Shego placed her toothbrush back in its cup and rinsed her mouth, enjoying the familiar and bright cinnamon flavor which triggered a yawn as she left the bathroom with a broad stretch, ready to bring the day to a close. She blinked in surprise however when she found herself in an empty bedroom, silent but for the familiar gurgle of the moat. Her mouth quirked into a perplexed grimace as she padded in her slippers toward the door, wondering where Drakken had gone. He had been putting his pajamas on when she entered the bathroom earlier.
"Drakken," she said by way of greeting when she reached the lab. The blue man was of course, leaning over the computer console and typing something furiously. He hadn't even bothered to put his robe on over his pajamas before leaving the bedroom, though Shego noted he'd managed to don his bunny slippers. He turned with a small gasp and slightly anxious smile.
"Sh-Shego!" he said, instantly beginning to fidget.
"Come on, we've talked about this. Actually sleeping will help you come up with a plan to take over the world," she said as she reached his side, setting her hands on her hips.
"But I already have the perfect plan, Shego! This one will work!" He pushed a button and then gestured to a schematic that appeared on the screen. "We only need to acquire this experimental battery, and then my shrink ray will be operational! Imagine...all the world's leaders shrunk down to the size of grasshoppers... They will have no choice but to bow to my will!"
Shego glanced at the schematic and then the excitement in his eyes, which somehow eclipsed the exhaustion she was sure he felt. He'd been awake before her that morning, and in bed after her the night before. And napping was a foreign concept to the evil genius. Somehow, the scheming fueled him.
"Okay."
Drakken's grin grew and he raised a fist triumphantly, taking a breath to continue his rant. But then he paused abruptly and blinked at her in surprise.
"'Okay'? Just...okay?"
Shego shrugged, and Drakken blinked again.
"You're not going to...mock my plan or yell at me for coming back to the lab after bedtime?" He looked genuinely surprised that neither had been her response, and nervous suddenly that they still might be.
Shego grinned softly and shook her head. "Sounds like a good plan. Long as 'Princess' doesn't get in the way. You still need to get some sleep, though."
Drakken continued staring at her with a look that she'd rarely seen. It was unreadable but for the fact she could tell his mind was racing to analyze her words, testing them for any falsehood or double-meaning. She reached a hand out in hopes he would take it and give in to the needed-rest.
Suddenly, he surprised her by sliding his hands around her waist. Before she could protest his lips were pressing hard into her cheek, the hot breath from his nostrils tickling her skin. She wrapped one arm around his shoulders instinctively at the same time her other hand moved to the side of his face, pushing him away as she grinned.
"Mmmh," was his only response, the hum sounding happily from deep in his chest as he kissed her cheek a second time. He nuzzled into her hair afterward and his hands slackened slightly on her waist, one hand drifting lower on her hip as he held her close.
"What was that for?" she asked through a laugh, letting her hand fall to his shoulder and leaning into the rare embrace.
She felt him take a breath and his frame slowly tense with it, and then release after a moment. His grip tightened again, and suddenly she understood. Her lack of scolding or mocking, and more importantly, her ready support of his plan, meant...a lot to him. So much apparently that he couldn't find words to express it. She felt him begin to tense again as he no doubt became self-conscious about his actions, unsure if he had made the right choice. She acted quickly before his insecurities could take over.
"Come on, Dr. D.," she said, letting her hands slide down his arms to find his hands, and she reluctantly stepped out of the embrace. "Let's get some sleep, and tomorrow we'll make you supreme ruler of the world."
There was only sincerity in her words, and she knew he knew it as they began walking and he was at a loss again. She watched his eyes dance in rapid thought for a moment before she slid her arm around his waist and leaned into him, hoping the silent communication would help him relax. Navigating their new relationship was proving challenging for them both, but they grew closer to understanding each other with each passing day. His arm slid around her again, and it was with confidence that she snuggled against him and smiled.
