POV 1 Zephyrine Falconglade

I see the one who should be another version of Jean-Michel Roget. I'm interested to see what this version of him is capable of, though in my world, he never actually played with Ancient Gears. As soon as he spots me, he calls his own ally. I call Izuku who messaged me about having dueled and defeated Severin's other ally.
Severin informed us about their Skill Enforcer, so I told Izuku to choose a selection of skills where none of them is identical to the previous selection he used against the Knight of Hanoi or Ghost Girl and Dark Lady. This is my first Speed Duel outside of training, so Roget and Chihiro should not have any awareness of my abilities, though their decks may or may not force me into a situation to use some D.E. or CCE myself. While he told us to only use it in dire circumstances, we do know how it works and I hope I can eventually use it to separate from the other ones. While Severin doesn't seem to think that Chihiro Himegeki (though he is the more likely of the two) or this alternate Roget are easily convinced, it would be interesting if we could ally with Roget and take him to my dimension once this is over. He could become a valuable member of the organization I'm in.

Which one? If you do not know already, you don't deserve to find out now. My assesment of this situation is over. Now to my physical form in this virtual space. I gave myself the handle of Healing Breeze and my 'outfit' is that of a silver riding suit with some turquoise lines. Since the AU Yugo looks himself in riding suit with a helmet as well, I removed my helmet and braided my hair to have some difference to him.

"I'm not Blythe Kawano.", she did use her real surname when talking to them,"or Midoriya as is her codename here.", I introduce myself, "we possess shifting identities with different decks as well, just like one of Playmaker's allies."

"Why did you tell them that!?", Izuku gasps.

"Olympe -our version of Yuri- would have told the enemy anyway. And someone by some miracle is spying on us now. We have already allied with Playmaker and are definetly willing to turn his online fanclub into allies. So at least SOL should restrain themselves in their actions against us."

A little 'white' lie to convince him. Izuku's duel with Yuya went rather well and given enough trouble in a duel with a member of Hanoi and Yusaku Fujiki will cave in. Even though that hypothetical spy would most likely also know whether we are on one side.

"We have already parted ways with the Knights of Hanoi and only handed Playmaker's AI to them, they do know nothing about him.", Roget says.

"Now, why you are telling them that?", Chihiro wonders.

"He's trying to demoralize Healing Breeze by telling her that the plan to control the inevitable by hastening it has failed, since the information you already have about Playmaker wasn't universal, like we assumed.", Izuku explains.

"So you do possess some kind of intellect for a superhero wannabe. Izuku Midoriya. Let's see what SOL really does with those pieces information.", Roget says.

"So should we go all-out on telling the weird stuff?", Chihiro wonders.

"If a certain someone or somethign that our master is pursuing does indeed have the ability to spy on us, 'Healing Breeze' with her cocky blabbermouth will do the work for us. As for our fighitng mode, how about a simple Battle Royal Light?", Roget says.

"So none of us share a deck with their partner.", Izuku notes.

"If advantages and disadvantages go to both me and my enemy, I choose the advantages.", I say.

"DUEL!"

Field: on

Self-Insert Accel

Dark Accel

Healing Breeze (4000lp) and Deku (4000lp) vs Machinarex (4000lp) and D.D. diver (4000lp)

Apparently there is no inner strife between Chihiro and Roget, because Roget doesn't need to read Dark's effects. Each of us moves ahead to get a card and since we can only get a single one per turn, there's no point in restraining your opponent once you've gained your card for the turn, even if you get a good card you can use right away.
Having probably the same line of thought as me, Izuku doesn't bother using his superpowers.

"I use my skill Machine Reconfiguation. I fuse King of the Swamp and Ancient Gear Chess Knight into Ancient Gear Ultimate Hound Dog. (ATK: 2800) With his own effect, he will halve Deku's Life Points. (Deku LP: 4000-2000) Chess Knight, banishes all Fusion materials to give this Hound two equip spells from my deck. I choose Spring Punch and Gravity Blaster. Gravity Blaster increases my Hound's ATK by 400. (ATK: 2800-3200) Since his ATK has been increased, Sprinch Punch deals you damage equal to half my Hound's attack power!"

"I have the Action Spell Damage Countershadow, I can instead of taking damage, summon a monster with equal or lesser power than the damage I would take. I summon Vision Hero Faris (DEF: 1800) I also get to place Vision Hero Increase in my backrow via Faris' effect."

"Persistent little fool. I set a card and end my turn, having to banish this Action Card." (Machinarex LP: 4000-3000)

My Action Card is unlikely to be used as well, being Pyrrhic Victory (though I do have a monster with over 4000 ATK in my Extra Deck) though allowing the enemies side to have 3 out of 4 Action Cards is too big of a risk, even if Self-Insert will stack the cards against me, so I couldn't decide to not gather one. Too bad Severin doesn't want to expend the CCE it would take to recreate what the lancers of my original world did. If you don't know what they did, already you don't deserve to know.

"Why do you fight for this side? D.D. diver believes he will receive a heavy punishment, but with what our master told us, you're not that much better of in this situation, than you were originally, but you don't seem unhappy about being here.", Izuku argues.

"What makes you think I won't be rewarded with returning to my previous state if I do as he says? I might be even better off than previously. Any of his morally questionable acts are in pursuit of his plans, so I have no worry of being tossed to the gutter once this is over at the very least.", Roget says.

I doubt he only dirties his hands in well-calculated ways.

"Seems like my duel disk doesn't want to comment anything this time.", Chihiro notes.

"Before this chit-chat escalates, I begin my turn. I activate Faunacea Zoo, since no card effect missed timing this turn, I can add a Faunacea Spell to my hand."

"What the heck? A deck that revolves around missing the timing? How would that even work?", Chihiro wonders.

"See and learn. I summon Faunacea Antidotphin and activate Faunacea Aromacure, I send Antidotphin to the GY to summon a Faunacea Synchro monster from my Extra Deck whose level is lower between Antidotphin and one of your monsters of my choice. With a level higher than 2 and a level lower than lower than 9, I transformation summon!
Grand Spiked Shark wrecking great ships and dragging his enemies to the abyss, drag this Hound to Hell! TRANSFORMATION SUMMON! Come forth, Level 8, Faunacea Isonathelas! (ATK: 2800-3200) My Field Spell also gives him 400 ATK."

"And I thought the only transformation summon was for Masked Heroes only and those were fusions...", Chihiro mutters.

"Don't you remind me of those.", I mutter.

„The troubling part is, that her card explicitly permits her to place monsters from the Extra Deck in a main monster zone, in this case, the same zone as the transformed monster.", Roget notes, „I assume you don't have any Link Monsters, unless the effects allow you to miss timing."

„Sending Link Material to the GY would prevent her from missing timing wouldn't it?", Chihiro wonders.

„It still would miss timing, but I have other ways to get their standard GY effects. Since Antidotphin missed timing, Isonathelas gets to banish your Hound."

„Since he left the field, I get to use my trap Ancient Gear Reverse Fusion, since Ultimate Hound is a material of Ancient Gear Chaos Giant, I get to summon that one. (ATK: 4500) This is also treated as a proper Fusion summoning."

„Then let's see if I can obtain a way to take out that one as well. I discard Faunacea Elixierat to activate Faunacea Vaccination, which allows me to draw 2 cards. Then I activate Faunacea Package Insert, milling 1 Faunacea and then one with a different name.
First I mill Detoxyranno, then I mill Healiger, who makes Isonathelas immune to card effects. Since more than a single Effect missed timing this turn, I can also summon Healiger from my hand AND revive Detoxyranno."

„Let me guess, now you're going to use a ‚Mass Change', that will get you 2 more Synchros.", Chihiro guesses.

„Basic deduction, nothing impressive. Since a card effect missed timing this turn, Detoxyranno mills a Faunacea spell or trap to use it. I choose Faunacea Herd Immunity, which allows me to replace Detoxyranno with a monster having a lower level than Isonathelas, while Healiger gets replaced with a higher-leveled monster. If I had a third monster to send and a fourth Main Monster zone to place it in, I could summon another one with the same Level.
I summon Potionmoraki and Astrakuyo (ATK: 2800-3200, 3100-3500) Astrakuyo allows me to use the effect of the forbidden card Confiscation of Forceful Sentry If anything missed timing this turn. I look at D.D. diver's hand and... oh-"

„Before that, I use the card Power Heart, which gives me LP equal to Chaos Giant's ATK! (D.D. diver LP: 4000-8500)"

"I wouldn't have picked that one anyway. I send Sea Veins Ritual Dragon to the GY. A card like that cannot be allowed here. Unfortunately, my Action Card was useless as well (Healing Breeze LP: 4000-3000) so it gets banished."

"I draw and set a card. I summon Sea Scales Seductress. I activate her effect banishing my whole field and can take over three monsters."

"I activate my Skill Undying Loyalty, which prevents my monsters from switching control.", I counter.

I do have a skill connected to my archetype, but I don't want to reveal it just yet.

"I guess I take my partner's Ancient Gear Chaos Giant, who can attack all of your monsters."

"I use my Skill Friend Hero! This turn you can only attack with Hero monsters or ON them. But due to the Battle Royal Light System, you cannot attack me before I have a turn, even though Vision Hero Faris is already on my field.", Izuku counters.

"Even if it forced out both of their skills, leaving me open like this is too heavy of a price.", Roget grumbles.

"I set my cards and end my turn.", Chihiro says.

"I draw! You won't have either of those cards for long, I tribute Increase in my backrow and Faris to summon Witch Raider. Your backrow cards are now destroyed. I set three cards for myself and attack Machinarex."

"I obviously have no defense now for some reason.", Roget says. (Machinarex LP: 3000-300)

"My turn is over now."

"I start by discarding King of the Swamp to get Polymerization to my hand. I activate Earth Shatter Fusion, banishing King of the Swamp from my GY and 2 Ancient Gear Golems from my deck to summo. Ancient Gear Ultimate Gatling Buster Howitzer. (DEF: 4700)"

"What kind of edgy little kid thinks of a name like that?", I will not point out how many cannons it has.

"Why would I care about the name or look of a card if it has a strong effect. I activate his effect, inflicting 900 damage per face-up card on my field. (Deku LP: 2000-1100) Being careful of a potential Kaiju or Volcanic Queen seems to have been pointless.", he says.

"Either you are a fool or trying to take me for one.", I say, "It couldn't have been summoned by Reverse Fusion because it does not list Ultimate Ancient Gear Hound Dog as one of its materials. Well, perhaps I will underestimate you now and make a critical mistake myself."

"Then do your worst. I end my turn.", he says.

"This is almost frightening.", Izuku says.

"I agree. It feels like we should put a stop to this.", Chihiro says.

"Also, earlier you revealed one of our names to them, so I think we coud-", Izuku begins.

"They're Jean-Michel Roget and Chihiro Himegeki. We can eliminate the damage of having our identity revealed, even without rallying every Playmaker fan.", I finish.

"Now that you've said Blythe's cover surname, Deku's real name is Izuku Midoriya.", Chihiro says.

Yes, arguing like this with them, doesn't contradict my plans to potentially make them allies, before they are that, I will talk to them like they're enemies. And for my plans to eliminate the damage from having our identities revealed, we can simply stay in Severin's realms and pop out when we need to. In fact, if we'd somehow resolve the problems between Severin, Kouhei and Kaede, losing duels is the only threat Hanoi or SOL has on us. Alas, I don't have any delusions of that being an easy achievements.

"Now, end your turn Roget, there are no options.", I say, "Also, your handle as Charisma Duelist is SoldatDelEnfere."

"How immature. And are you sure our hypothetical and nearly impossible spy will believe everything we say? But fine, have your turn now and don't bore me.", he says.

"You're the same age as my master, but you are quite the spoiled brat if a deck revolving around missing the timing bores you, even if it was incredibly underpowered and now it's time to show you my deck isn't. My turn, DRAW! I add Faunacea Replacement Drug to my hand via Zoo's effect! I use it on Potionmoraki, allowing me to transform him into any Faunacea except another Potionmoraki itself. Gluttonous Feline of oldest age, raise from death and tear apart my enemies! TRANSFORMATION SUMMON! Come forth, Level 12, Faunacea Herbakeneko! (ATK: 4300-4700)"

"I think, close, but no cigar is an old proverb for this situation.", Roget says unimpressed.

His arrogance will backfire. He can't discourage me with an indirect hint that his monster's defense is equal to Herbakeneko's ATK.

"First, I use Astrakuyo's effect to banish Chihiro's Chaos Giant. Herbakeneko, can after we've missed timing once, copy Detoxyranno's effect to mill a spell of my archetype and use its effect. I mill Faunacea Overdosing, which allows me to add 2 trap cards from my archetype to my hand. I set Nocebo and Withheld Cure, let's see how you will deal with those. Now, before I take out Chihiro, how about you consider turning on Kouhei Hagakure? I'm sure, our benefactor will do the same things that Kouhei can."

He probably won't do them for Roget. If Olympe of I were alone, he might not even have recruited us.

"I know he's not the good guy of this conflict. But who's to say that Severin Sevenstar or Kaede Urashima are truthful with their envoys?", Chihiro says bitterly.

That idiot really tries hard to convince himself that this is the only way, Severin would surely have a way against Kouhei's actions. I wonder how long it will take for him to break out of this insanity.

"I still believe that you can realize that there is a better way.", Izuku insists.

"He will do something to my family if I were to disobey. Prevent that and I will gladly walk over to you.", Chihiro says.

You're expecting me to call him a coward, which could be true, but if Severin threatened my master, I would definetly believe he had that power and that Kouhei and Kaede would be unable to prevent him. I could still keep a calm and collected face, regardless so he is indeed a coward.

"Hopeless. Herbakeneko attacks you directly.", I say.

"I activate my skill Torrent Veins. As I have banished my whole field at one point in this duel and since your three monsters can take out my 8500 Life Points, I banish everyone's whole field now."

"Ch, you're a bit more capable than I thought. But since the edgy howitzer isn't immune to skill effects, there is some collateral damage here.", I grit my teeth.

"I swear, why did Kouhei give you this skill and why didn't you use a different one here?", Roget says.

"I already know that friendship speech was to make Yuya mentally vomit at the thought of it, you don't need to be an exaggerated jackass to prove it further."

I only heard about this speech literally a second ago and I'm mentally vomiting even knowing this out of character act was only for that sake and I didn't see it for myself.

"Also, considering she has a 4700 ATK monster the risk was worth it, it's not my fault you almost got OTK'd by Izuku!", he adds.

How much did they have to cheat to defeat Playmaker?

"It should be D.D. diver's turn.", Izuku reminds us.

"I activate the spell Tidal Remembrance. All my banished cards go to my hand. Too bad it's only Seductress and the Ritual Spell Birth of the Tidal Dragon. I summon Seductress and attack Deku directly! (Deku LP: 1100-450) That's all for this turn."

"I unfortunately can only set a card.", Izuku says.

"My turn, draw-", but Izuku interrupts him.

"I use Return from the Dark Dimension to bring Witch Raider back to the field."

"That will do nothing to save you. I set a card and activate Aurora Draw. I summon Ancient Gear Hound Dog, in fact, you revived Witch Raider a phase too early. Since you have a monster, I can inflict 600 points of effect damage to you. Any last attempts at giving me a redemptive speech?", Roget taunts.

"No. I... am not that far as a hero yet.", Izuku says. (Deku LP: 450-600=0)

He did only recently learn to duel, so while he apparently gave Yuya one hell of a fight, his streaks of genius play and luck are going to be shorter. They also possess the anti-motion programm.

"What, no cries for your lost partner?", Roget taunts me.

"I see no reason to do so. Your type of intellect is the kind of ally I prefer to this heroic drivel.", I say.

Not that I am a joyfully evil comic book villain, but my sense of justice and my goal are far different from someone like Izuku and less idealistic on top of that.

"If you like him so much, why don't you join us instead?", Chihiro asks.

"Because nothing I head from you has refuted the picture Severin has given me. Nothing against wanting crazy CCE powers, but I have reasons to heavily doubt that he will only dirty his hands for carefully calculated reasons.", I answer.

"I'd like to continue now. I activate Polymerization, fusing the dog on my field and the one in my hand into Doube Bite Hound Dog. (ATK: 1400) I attack you directly. (Healing Breeze LP: 3000-1600) I end my turn. Carefully plan your summonings.", he says.

"You know, I was kidding before, but I might really start making a critical mistake because I underestimate you. Have you forgotten that everyone of my monsters so far had a GY effect? And being destroyed by the Acid Gear Counters won't make them miss timing for once. My turn now. I activate Faunacea Remission, I shuffle Herbakeneko back into my Extra Deck and summon a Faunacea from my Extra Deck that is at least 3 levels lower. I choose Level 4 Ambrosioni. No chant, since he is only the reshufller. (ATK: 1000)"

"I will place a counter.", Roget says.

"You know what happens when he is destroyed. I set a card. I attack Sea Scales Seductress with Ambrosioni. Can you spare 450 LP?"

"No, I will destroy it. Are you really going to reshuffle everything now?", Roget questions.

"Of course. And when Ambrosioni enters the GY, I can shuffle any banished or GY cards back into my deck. Now I have a deck of 29 cards and 4 cards in my Extra Deck, since I didn't play a card outside of my archetype so far, though I do "

"Maybe not having a revival target won't trouble her.", Chihiro guesses.

"It definetly won't. Your move.", I say.

"I normal summon Sea Scales Serenity. With 1100 ATK on the board, I enter the Battle Phase."

"This time, stealing his monster would have been beneficial. I activate Faunacea Oasis. Since each of you control a total of 3 monsters, I mill 3 Faunaceas -Healiger, Pillobster and Xanaxolotl- to gain 500lp for each. Not having a revival target will only bother me if I actually have none. (Healing Breeze LP: 1400-3100)"

"Ch, I still attack with both of my monsters." (Healing Breeze LP: 3100-2000), "back to Roget."

"It has to be activated upon an attack, so my Double Bite Hound Dog still would prevent it. Luckily for you, I set a card face-down since I didn't draw a monster. I attack with Double Bite Hound Dog." (Healing Breeze LP: 2000-600)

"I draw.", I say.

"I now use Fusion Trench. Only Fusion Monsters can attack.", Roget says.

"Funny. My card is Three Tactical Talents. Since you did something, I get to choose between Forceful Sentry, Brain Control or Pot of Greed. Stealing a monster for a turn and defeating Roget that way would be too easy. So I choose Pot of Greed. I activate Faunacea Reanimation. First you get to revive monster, then it immediately goes to the GY, so that I can revive a different monster. In Layman's term: You choose one monster that I cannot revive, then I get to summon another one with its time miss effect ready."

"Looking at the effects in your GY, summon Xanaxolotl. Not gonna take that negation ability.", Chihiro says.

"It dies and then I summon Healiger. I set one card."

"Your monster still gets an Acid Counter. Why didn't you mill and revive Detoxyranno?", Roget says, "That boasting will cost you this duel."

"Prove it.", I say.

"My turn. I activate Rites of the Deep Sea, releasing the Water Monsters I control now to summon Sea Scales Ritual Dragon from my hand. Then I summon Link Dragon, who brings Ritual Dragon back to the field. I can't attack under Fusion Trench, but I wouldn't do so anyway. Back to Roget."

"I draw and set a card.", Roget starts.

"I can still use a trap before your Battle Phase begins. I use Faunacea Resistance, sending Healiger to my GY to banish your Hound and Fusion Trench."

"Fine, it's your turn once more.", Roget grimaces.

"I normal summon Elixierat and attack Roget directly. That would be 1400 points of damage."

"I activate my face-down Power Wall. I send 14 cards from my deck to the GY to negate all of the damage.", Roget counters.

He milled the otherEarth Shatter Fusion and Overload Fusion. Whether the monsters matter depends if one of the 4 remaining cards is a good revival., I'm going to be bold and not recount them.

"However, since in a Battle Royal Light, Roget is an opponent and he would've taken damage, I gain 1400 Life Points. (D.D. diver LP: 8500-9900)"

"I will have to end my turn now.", I say.

"My turn. *sigh* I attack directly with Ritual Dragon. I gain 200 LP. (D.D. diver LP: 9900-10100)"

"You think I will mill myself to death? Challenge accepted. I mil 2 other copies of Healiger. (Healing Breeze LP: 600-1600-1400) Unfortunately I have no Faunacea monster to kill off right now. Now hand it over to your partner."

"I activate Cards of Despair. I draw 3 cards and there are none left to send to the GY. I set three cards and end my turn.", Roget says.

"I've figured it out. Deckout circumvents the restraint virus. You can still move after a loss. Though really, you should try to win.", I say, "I only set a card this turn."

"I attack with Link Dragon!"

"I activate Mirror Force. Now only one part of the duo remains.", I counter.

"Dammit. I... hand it over to Roget.", he grits his teeth.

"Useless little... Wait, I still move.", Roget says.

"That would be our interference.", an unknown voice says.

What I would call Playmaker's AI dressed up as a Crown shows up, next to a guy dressed up as a king.

"I think this whole battle exists to drive us out of hiding. You succeeded at that.", he says, "Though not in the way you think. We don't like you abusing that trick and from now on, everyone that does it, will be demolished and taken out by us."

So we do have someone able to spy on us, even with those circumstances. I wonder if they will reveal that we are not fully allied with the forces of Playmaker yet.

"Ch, don't bank on-", Roget begins to scoff, but is interrupted once more.

"Oh, we will absolutely continue your loss streak. Just learn from it. It would be awfully boring otherwise.", the AI says and teleports everyone but Chihiro away.

"Ominous. I'm sure Severin knows. Looks like someone was able to spy on us within these ruins. I wonder why they didn't comment on anything we revealed about Severin, Kaede and Kouhei.", I note.

"You really aren't fazed by this, aren't you?", Chihiro wonders.

"Of course not. The interdimensional war was much bigger and more insane, than this comparatively mundane online conspiracy, even with this. I use Selective Monster Reborn, but since I have three Healigers in my GY, I revive one by banishing two."

"I use Ritual Dragon's effect to banish my whole field, but without Link Dragon, your card is not negated.", Chihiro says.

"Looks like I have this in the bag, if you're this desparate to get some good banish related card. I attack directly with Healiger and then it's back towards you again!"
(D.D. diver LP: 10100-7100)

"I sadly have to use my own Cards of Despair. I draw 3 cards and mill the rest. I set three cards and end my turn.", he says.

"What a pathetic weakling. Turning you over to our side will be an unjustifiable risk it seems. To be safe though, I activate Localized Trunade, forcing those face-downs back to your hand. Then I end my turn."

"I have no tricks.", he says.

Let's just hope Olympe doesn't mess this up the next duel.

WINNER: Healing Breeze

POV 2 Kirito

"Looks like your buddy lost too.", I say as I teleport over to D.D. diver and drag him here, "And he had to use Cards of Despair as well."

"Now, if should you really want to blow our minds by going further into that strange stuff that you were discussing with your opponent's, please do so while you receive your punishment.", Numen adds.

"This is what the Knights of Hanoi where hoping to find below the stuff they destroyed with that virus.", D.D. diver says.

"Yes, though I was never buried behind data and they will have a rude awakening if they try to duel me.", Numen says.

"We have our own tricks. We admittedly have a bad streak, but we did defeat Playmaker. It could end against any enemy.", he says with fake humility.

"Oh? Then I will use full force from the first turn onward!", I say.

I used some semi-gratuitous german for Aromacure, I considered Aromatherapy, but I didn't like it, so I englishified the german name of the Pokémon attack. Powerwall goes by its anime effect where you have to mill one for every 100 and after probably overdoing the Action Cards last time, I heavily reduced them here.

Time it took to publish this: 19 days only, though the next one might not be that soon, since it has the following TWO duels:

Dunkelsieg and Numen vs Chihiro and Roget (I know, the outcome won't suprise anyone, but I will find a way to make it interesting)

AND

Dr. Genome vs Futaba

Next time probably won't be so soon and so short.
