CHAPTER 36
Rolf Scamander's plan was working. Hannah and Terry had been able to get Ginny's blood essence thanks to her three children. After that, they had wetted a piece of Ginny's cloth with it and Rolf had made the Thestrals smell it so that they could capture it on their sensorial memory. Once that was achieved, he, Harry, ex-Hogwarts students and the Weasleys mounted the creatures.
Harry had to admit the he was impressed. At first, he had thought that Rolf's idea was quite crazy but, now, while they were flying to Ginny, he couldn't be more grateful. Luna had been the only one that had fully believed in her husband's plan.
The trip was longer than Harry had expected. They landed a few meters away from an old and wrecked house, it was dark and isolated, and there was nobody near. It was a perfect place for hiding. Hermione and Anthony Goldstein had examined the peripheries of the place and discovered that there wasn't a trace of magic around it. No one would think that a wizard could be living there.
"Everything is perfect, Harry. There are no spells or curses done around the house. We could easily enter without Nott noticing us. He must have thought nobody would find him. He was too cocky." Hermione informed him.
"Let's go." Without waiting for and answer he started walking to the house. A hand stopped him before he had done more than three steps.
"We have to put together a strategy. We can't simple go in, if Nott realise that there is someone else, he will disappear in a second with Ginny without giving us a chance."
"I don't have time for that, Ron, she is in danger. I say we put some silencing charms on us and enter the house."
"What if he sees you? It's too risky. First we should put an anti-apparition charm and an anti-portkeys one so that he has no way to escape. I suggest we divide in two groups, one will go inside and the other will stay here as standing guards. We don't know if there are more people out here helping Nott." Harry had to admit that Ron was making sense and it was a smart move to do as he said. However, his instinct told him that it was just Nott and Ginny in the house, it was a personal vengeance of the ex-Slytherin.
"Okay" he said annoyed so that they didn't waste more time. "Let's do it quickly. I'll do the anti-apparition one, Seamus, you're an Auror, I imagine you know the other one."
"Yes, Harry, I'll do it." The two ex-classmates started going around the area while doing the charm. Once they had finished, they all got together to discuss the next part of the plan.
"I just did the 'Homenun Revelium', there are only two people in there, we can be almost sure they are Nott and Ginny." Hermione told them.
"Okay then, let's not waste more time. Neville, Ron, Seamus and I will go inside, the rest of you stand guard surrounding the house."
"I'm also going in." George said.
"Me too" Percy, Charlie and Bill added.
"She is my daughter, of course I'm coming with you." Arthur said firmly.
"Okay, let's go." Harry didn't want to argue, time was essential here. But, if he was honest, he didn't feel comfortable with the rest of the Weasley going with him. They still hadn't cross many words and this was the worst possible situation for it. Harry was pretty sure the Weasleys had a grudge against him.
Hermione, Susan Bones, Luna and Rolf made a silencing spell on each of the men that were about to enter the lugubrious house. The nine men walked carefully with their wands raised, ready to attack. Unfortunately, they search every corner of the place without finding a Ginny and Nott, not even a clue about where they could be.
"They should be here. This isn't right." Harry said once they all found themselves at the entrance door.
"There has to be some secret, hidden, place, we must have missed something. Hermione said there were two people here. Ginny should be here!" Ron ended frustrated.
"I didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I've visit other hideouts Nott used, but we've always found something, minimum. There's nothing here." Seamus told them.
"Maybe we should try to blow up a wall." Neville suggested.
"No! We could hurt Ginny." Arthur said, remembering of his son's, Fred, death.
Suddenly they heard a cried of pain that made them shut up their discussion. It was Ginny. Harry followed the sound, it seemed to come from under the floor. His companions thought the same, they all had their gaze on the ground.
"There!" Bill pointed out an almost imperceptible door next to the stairs. It didn't even have a handle. He was able to identify it thanks to his long experience as a curse-breaker.
This time Harry didn't bother being careful and quiet. He had to find Ginny, he couldn't stand does cries full of anguish and pain. He quickly opened the door and ran down the little stair that appeared. The image that he saw made him livid. Ginny was suffering on the floor, crying in agony, and Nott was laughing shamelessly, supporting himself on the wall.
Without giving it much thought, Harry threw a reductor curse at the ex-Slytherin. Nott was able to dodge it at the last second but, the curse hit the wall, destroying it. Little pieces fell everywhere, some even crushed Nott. Harry didn't stop to see if the man was still alive, he had people watching his back, he went directly to Ginny. She was soaked in blood and some other thing he didn't know what it was.
"Ginny! Ginny! Wake up!" he begged while carrying her on his arms. His eyes started watering; tears were running down his face.
"Harry! Take her out of here, Terry and Hannah will know what to do." Neville told him, forcing him to react.
Harry got up, still carrying Ginny, and ran outside where the rest of the group was waiting.
"Hannah! Terry!" he shouted as soon as he was out. They both ran to meet him and gasped when they saw the red-head on his arms.
"What happened in there?" Hannah asked trying to get a better view of Ginny's wounds.
"I don't know. I think Nott made her drink that potion. There was a flask next to her." Harry explained, his throat contracted in distress.
"Merlin! This is a mixture of her blood and magic core fluid." Terry said while examining the thick, dense liquid that covered Ginny's body. "We should take her to St Mungo's"
"I don't think she could resist apparition nor portkeys in this condition. Harry was the floor also covered by this mixture of blood and magic core?"
"Yes, there was like a puddle of it where Ginny was lying."
"Harry lay her down here. Terry, you try stabilize her and stop the bleeding and try to put the blood and magic fluid she has lost on this flask." Hannah ordered him and gave him a container she had just conjured. "I'll go inside and get everything I can from the floor. We'll take her to the Hospital when I'm back. We'll have to transport her by Thestrals, she's too weak for anything else."
With that, Hannah entered the house Harry had just left. Terry was having a difficult time with his part of the work, he had been able to stop the blood, but the fluid was too hard to stop from going out of Ginny's body, so he decided to save everything in the flask. Five minutes later, Hannah was back. She had her own full container. They conjured a stretcher and deposited Ginny there, and flew to St Mungo's.
Harry was sure he was going to receive a letter from the Ministry for disobeying the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. Muggles had seen them arrived to and abandoned store, St Mungo's entrance, riding invisible creatures and with a dying woman on their hands, it was all too suspicious. But none of that was important to him at that moment.
"Healer Boot!" the receptionist greeted Terry when she saw him enter the Hospital.
"Kelly, this is a life or death situation, I need Healer Helsing from the Emergency Ward." He told her while he continued his walk. Hanna and Harry with Ginny followed him. Harry heard many people murmured his name but he didn't paid them any attention.
"Healer Helsing is one of the best here, Harry. He had had some bizarre cases. I'm sure if someone can cure Ginny is him." Hannah tried to calm him down while they entered a room and lay Ginny on a bed. "Terry, don't you think we should call Dalton? He is the best Potions Master in the country."
"Yes, good idea, I'll go call him." Terry ran to a fireplace and made the call.
It wasn't long before the room began to get full with healers who started working on Ginny. Harry was kicked out, and so was Hannah since she didn't work there anymore. They both sat on the waiting room for hours. Little by little, the Weasleys, Hermione, Luna, Rolf and Neville joined them.
