Fading Memories
Chapter 36th
It was a week later that Special Agent Gibbs was released from the hospital with Doctor Cyril Taft signing the papers. Along with driving him home himself with taking the next few hours off. He had called his wife Catherine what he was planning while she was taking care of their newborn baby boy Jeffrey.
Cyril Taft had placed Gibbs things into the trunk of his chevy vehicle heading home to the silence of his house. Gibbs walked into the living room with the keys as he throws them into the ash container the usual spot.
"Would you like me to get you a beer? The fridge was restocked by your friends of NCIS Jethro." he will say with watching for his answer.
"I will have one with sitting on the couch. I don't think I can handle sitting on the hard chair and table with too many memories." he paused for a moment.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Jethro?" SNAP OUT OF IT ALREADY?" Taft said loudly ...
"Jesus H. Christ Cyril I lost my wife and boys due to my obsession with the Cartel." Gibbs cried out with his response.
"You're lost wives before and including Shannon and Kelly. Even though they are now back into the picture living in Orlando, Florida, and California," he said to him bluntly with his response.
"Only Shannon is not back in my life but rather married to Alex, while Kelly is and happy with Colonel James Hawkins of the Witness Protection Program," Gibbs says with pride.
'I just can't stand this to see you like this Jethro. I know that you loved Loreile a great deal. But as you know any woman nor man is able to take so much. Like yourself for when it came to the death of Shannon and Kelly 34 years ago. You were at wit's end and wanted to use your gun and shoot yourself into the mouth."
"I was desperate Doc back then and I am again. I want my family back whole!" he cried out even though it was all an act at this point and he couldn't afford to have the Cartel find out the truth.
"And you really think that Loreile will come back with seeing you in this condition?" he commented sarcasm.
"I need to try Cyril for the sake of my own mental state. Plus when I have that chat with Doctor CONFALONE in order for me to get back to work at NCIS."
"Why NCIS? You can always start up your own business with the smarts you're able to have Jethro? Being a Private Detective, security officer, or anything else in the private sector?" Taft needed to say with Gibbs shaking his head at the idea.
"I will think about it, Cyril." he finished the bottle of beer asking for another but decided to hold off until he leaves.
"I need to be going, Jethro. I do hope to god that you're going to take it easy?" Taft said.
"I am very much interested in doing work in the basement and with finishing up the boat that I have been needing to do lately." Gibbs needed to have said.
Once Doctor Cyril Taft had left the house. Special Agent Gibbs had searched for the scanner for any type of electronic bugs in the house before he calls his wife Loreile at the safe house. Once again it was another one of those undercover operations the third one during the past four years they had been married.
After two hours of searching and finding nothing. Gibbs headed downstairs to the living room with grabbing his cell phone. Taking a deep breath and a sip of his Budweiser bottle of beer.
Tombstone, Arizona safe house TIME: 3.30 P.M.
Loreile had been putting together a salad for herself in the small kitchen of her quarters filled with chicken, mushrooms, lettuce, potatoes and so much more with her pregnancy now in her ninth month.
She had been staying in contact with the D.O.D. the agent with her two sons Shane and Nathan staying at the Evergreen safe house the past two and one-half months.
Her last text message to her husband was a month ago has stayed busy with her writing and reading Fanfiction along with her exercises to stay in shape before the delivery.
She had left her cell phone sitting on the counter when she heard the vibrating. She was wondering who it was going to be. When she smiled that it was her husband Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
"Jethro now this is a surprise? how are you doing baby? I really missed you a great deal." she says to him over the phone sitting down on the chair.
"Loreile I love you and I missed you and our family. Listen to me I want you, Shane, and Nathan to come home. I am tired of our family being separated?" he cried out...
"Jethro are you sure about this and the Cartel?" she was concerned with asking the question. She needed to be sure with her own emotions and her husband's.
"Damn straight I am sure Loreile. I have suffered enough with the decision to separate," he commented over the phone.
"Okay let me talk with the manager of the safe house and see what he can do with getting me on the next flight back to Alexandria, Virginia Jethro?" she responded with her heart in her throat.
"Great! I will make sure that I call the grocery store to order food and drinks for everyone. I will send a text message to Madeline or whoever is watching Shane and Nathan?" he said with trying to calm himself down.
"I believe it's Alicia with Madeline having taken a vacation with her husband David," she commented the best she could for the moment.
"See you soon Loreile. I love you after all this time sweetie." Gibbs said with his emotional outburst.
