Jay and Skylor felt like ripping their hair out as they wrecked their brains trying to figure out what to do about Kai and Nya. After Jay had informed the two girls that Morro's mother had been hassling Kai again, while Skylor had been sympathetic, Nya used it as more reason for Kai to have an abortion. Cole and Zane suggested filing a police report against Wendy, but Kai dismissed that idea. As long as she believed he wasn't keeping Morro's baby then she'd eventually leave him alone.

At least, that's what Kai and the others hoped.

Afterward, they could all put what happened to him and Skylor behind them and get on with the rest of their lives. Not that Nya agreed with that. The younger Smith sibling was current at the library on the other side of Ninjago city, where hardly anybody knew her and she could study for an upcoming exam in peace. Skylor was downtown at the job center, hoping she would get a lucky break. Jay and Cole were in the apartment's living room with Kai, helping him get ready for his next scan, which Cole was driving him to.

While the two agents waited Kai entered the living room after picking on an outfit to wear.

He was wearing a burgundy, turtle-neck sweater with black skinny jeans. He held in a sigh, knowing in a couple of months he wouldn't be able to fit in them for a while.

"You look nice." Jay smiled when he saw the brunette. "Is there anything you need to take?"

"I don't think so, it's just a scan isn't it?" Kai muttered. He hadn't gotten much sleep last night and the bags under his eyes made that clear.

"Right, well, my car's outside so we better get moving." Cole smiled as he grabbed his keys. He took in Kai's tired appearance and sighed sadly. "Kai, we're all proud of you, you know that right?"

"We need to go if we wanna get there in time." He replied quickly before speed walking out of the apartment. Cole shared a sad look with his boyfriend before following the brunette out...

Kai desperately tried to swallow the giant lump in his throat, but every time he tried, it just choked him even more. Kai was sitting alone in the waiting room of the local hospital's maternity ward with two other couples who were both eagerly waiting to be called in so they could see their babies. He wished he was that eager. He was curled up on a small love seat in the far corner of the waiting room, away from the others, when Cole came back with two take-out cups full of hot coffee.

"That damn coffee machine took so long I thought you'd already been in." The noirette smiled as he handed Kai one of the coffees.

"I think I'm in next." He muttered, refusing to meet the agent's eyes. They heard loud laughter and turned to see a couple looking at each other with loving smiles while the father gently rubbed his partner's large baby bump. As he turned away from the sickly sweet sight, Kai felt like he was suffocating as he thought about Morro. He knew that the baby would want to know about their father and Kai still had no idea what he was going to say.

He had planned on saying that Morro was dead, but that criminal would be out in thirty years, or twenty-five with good behavior.

God knows what would happen if one day Morro turned up on the baby's doorstep out of the blue if they'd spent their whole life thinking their father was dead. He thought about telling them the truth. But he feared what that could do to the baby's self-esteem and mental and emotional health if they discovered they were created by rape. Upon seeing Kai's inner turmoil on his face, Cole placed a strong, comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Don't worry buddy, won't be long now." He reassured and Kai, for some reason he didn't understand, trusted him. After a few minutes, the midwife stepped into the waiting room with a clipboard in hand.

"Kai Smith?" She called and Kai took a deep breath before he stood up. As he started following the midwife, he suddenly stopped at the door and turned to Cole.

"Could you come with me?" He asked nervously. Cole smiled and nodded as he stood up and followed him and the midwife inside. Kai reluctantly climbed onto the hospital bed as Cole took a seat in the plastic chair next to him.

"So you're ready for us to go ahead?" The midwife asked as she took a seat next to the ultrasound monitor.

"Yeah."

"He's a bit nervous." Cole chimed in. "I'm one of Kai's friends."

"Are you going to be supporting him during his pregnancy?"

"Yeah, the baby's father is... not on the scene." He replied as he and Kai looked down at the vague mention of Morro's involvement with this pregnancy. "Kai's been through so tough times but hopefully he's out the other side now."

"Okay, I need you to lift your sweater up for me, then I'm gonna put some gel on your tummy, then I'll grab my magic wand and we'll have a look at your baby." She explained with a smile as she grabbed the gel. Kai reluctantly led back and pulled up his jumper, exposing his stomach. He flinched slightly at the freezing gel, but Cole gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.

"Okay Mr. Smith, you'll be pleased to know there's just one baby and it looks like you've got your dates right, which gives you a due date of the 16th of July." She said after a moment as she moved the wand around. Kai swallowed the lump in his throat as he felt tears welling up in his eyes. He frowned in confusion, unsure why he was crying.

"The baby looks perfect, strong heartbeat, and all the measurements are as they should be." The midwife added, trying to give Kai some reassurance.

"You sure you're alright?" Cole asked when he saw the look on Kai's face. The brunette nodded, not trusting his voice.

"I'm almost finished and then we'll print you some photographs off."

"Why don't you have a look?" Cole suggested, but Kai shook his head.

"I'm scared." He whispered, his voice cracking with a silent sob.

"There's nothing to be scared of," Cole promised and after some brief hesitation, Kai slowly turned his head to the monitor. The second he saw his baby on the screen, he gasped and burst into tears. Cole's eyes widened, thinking he had caused Kai more distress. "Come on, don't be upset."

"No, you don't understand." Kai sobbed as he watched his baby move. "I'm not crying because I'm sad, and I know this isn't what I wanted from my first baby but now I know I've made the right decision." He smiled as he turned to look at the agent. "I'm glad that I'm keeping it." He said and Cole gave him a smile back. After twenty minutes, Kai had gotten cleaned up and he and Cole were walking out of the hospital. The midwife had given Kai an armful of pregnancy leaflets and a picture of the ultrasound.

He couldn't help smiling brightly at the picture of his baby.

Cole was happy that Kai was starting to look forward to this baby coming.

"This is so weird." Kai beamed as he and the agent examined the photo. "Isn't it mad that that's inside me right now?"

"And it'll have you run ragged when it's born." Cole chuckled.

"When it came up on the screen it... it just suddenly feels real." Kai sighed in content as he looked at the picture of his baby. "Although I have to say I'm not looking forward to pushing it out." He grimaced.

"Don't worry, it'll come naturally when the time comes."

"It's definitely got a massive head." He laughed as he brought the picture up so Cole could get a better look. When the noirette said nothing, Kai looked at him and saw the look of horror on Cole's face as he stared dead ahead of them. "What's up?" He asked as he followed Cole's eyes, only for them both to freeze. Wendy was walking towards them. At first, they thought she was following them until they realized she was wearing a nurse's uniform, complete with a real name tag.

Wendy's eyes widened when she got closer and saw the ultrasound picture in Kai's hand.

"You said you weren't keeping it!" She exclaimed.

"Y-You work here?" Kai gasped in horror.

"Come on Kai," Cole said and he started leading the brunette to his car, but Wendy started following them.

"Were you not even gonna tell us?!" She shouted, very upset at this revelation. "It's Morro's baby too!"

"You even had to ruin today for him." Cole snapped at her over his shoulder. Wendy glared at the agent before she ran up on Kai's other side, but he refused to look at her.

"Why?! Why are you doing this?!"

"Are you retarded or is that your old age!" Cole suddenly growled as he stopped and glared at the older woman with all the hate he could muster and Kai quickly got into the passenger side of the car. "Kai's said it! My team's said it! A goddamn judge and jury have said it! Your son is a RAPIST!" He roared, causing a few people in the hospital's parking lot to look over at them. "Now just stay away from him!" He ordered as he got behind the wheel and locked the doors.

Wendy refused to give up and started banging on Kai's window, but he still refused to even acknowledge her.

"This isn't gonna go away! We're always gonna be here! I'm that baby's grandma!" She shouted as Cole began driving away, living her standing alone in the parking lot with a few patients and other staff staring at her...

Kai had hardly said a word during the car ride home and was now sat on the couch with his knees tucked into his chest. Cole, Jay, and Zane were also standing in the living room, sharing nervous looks, unsure what to say or do. The girls weren't back yet, which the agents were grateful for. The last thing Kai needed was another lecture from Nya about why keeping the baby would only cause him more pain. When Kai and Cole had returned Zane was cooking everyone dinner and Jay had excitedly stuck the ultrasound to the fridge door

But when they were told about Wendy working at the hospital and learning about Kai keeping the baby.

The happy mood soon turned sour at this news. Zane felt extremely guilty since it was him who choose the hospital purely based on its location and had failed to check Wendy's employment history.

"Are you sure I can't make you something to eat?" Zane offered gently.

"I feel sick," Kai muttered.

"You haven't had anything since this morning and you're eating for two now." Jay reminded and Kai reluctantly nodded. Jay smiled and rushed into the kitchen to make Kai a quick snack to settle his stomach.

"We never should have gone there today." Kai suddenly said to the other two agents. "I thought I got rid of her yesterday." He sobbed as he buried his face in his hands.

"Hey! What're you getting upset for?" Cole smiled kindly as he rushed to Kai's side. "Don't shed any tears over that bitch or her fucking bastard." He said, ignoring Zane's glare at his rude language.

"Yes, this is a happy day and don't let her spoil it." He added.

"But I'm scared." Kai sniffled.

"Don't worry, we won't let anyone hurt you," Cole assured, but Kai snapped up with a teary glare.

"She knows where I live! She works at the hospital, so every appointment-"

"Kai, we will not allow anyone to harm you again," Zane promised.

"You don't get it!" He shouted. "She's never gonna give this up so I-I need to get away somewhere where nobody knows me! Where he or his mother can't find me!"

"Kai, I promised that Jay, Cole, and I will always be there for you and the girls no matter what happens in the future."

"How can you guys even promise something like that?" Kai asked, trying to rub his still teary eyes dry. There was an awkward silence that followed Kai's question. It stretched on for an uncomfortable amount of time. The two agents shared a look and seemed to have a mental conversation between them and Kai started fidgeting nervously, fearing the worst.

"Fuck it, let's just do this now, I'll go and grab Jay, be back in a sec." Cole suddenly said and off without waiting for a response. The ex-prostitute blinked in shock and confusion while Zane clenched his teeth. After a few minutes, Cole and Jay entered the room. The ginger took a seat on the couch farthest away from Kai with a faint blush, and the noirette sat next to Jay. Zane sighed and sat beside Kai, shooting the other two a glare until they moved closer.

An awkward silence filled the room.

"What's going on?" The brunette questioned, glancing around nervously. "I'd rather know what's going on than have to decipher it from some long explanation."

"Very well, Jay has feelings for you."

"Zane!" Jay squeaked in shock at Zane's sudden bluntness. Kai felt himself short-circuiting at this news.

"He said he didn't want a long explanation." The blond pointed out.

"You didn't have to say it like that!" The ginger argued, his face flushed a bright red. Kai opened his mouth, not sure what to say, but before he got the chance to speak, Zane was already talking.

"Cole feels the same."

"Zane!" Cole yelled, his face flushed red.

"I am merely being honest!" The blond explained, but his own face has started turning red. Kai was sure his face was as bright as theirs.

"Uh- I- okay?" He stammered in complete shock. "I- I mean, I like Cole too, he's hot, and I-I- I'm just going to stop talking now." He gulped nervously, fearing he had just said something wrong. Everyone was wearing a heavy blush, and Jay cleared his throat.

"Uh, anyway... Zane, could you, uh... explain the point?"

"I- I would also be interested in getting to know you better before I make any commitments," Zane replied. "But, well... the three of us are polyamorous." He added and something suddenly clicked with Kai.

"Are you guys... are you guys, uh... inviting me in? Into your, uh, your relationship?" He asked and there was a pause.

"Yeah, um, we- we are." Cole managed to get out. The pause resumed, and Kai found himself struggling to breathe. He couldn't believe that was really happening? He realized that he was just been sitting there while the other three wait for an answer. His face was just about melting off from the blush, he forced himself to make eye contact with one of them and it just so happened to be Cole.

"But what about the baby?" He asked, scared that the pregnancy was a deal-breaker. The three agents shared a look before Cole met his amber eyes again.

"We've talked about this, and we've agreed that if you agree to be in our relationship then we will all help you raise and treat this baby as if it was our own child, and if you say no then we'll still be here for you, Skylor, and Nya as friends and help you where we can." He reassured the brunette.

"I, um... if you guys are serious about this..." Kai trailed off, unsure of how to voice it.

"We are," Zane assured, and Kai turned to look at him. The ex-prostitute gave a small, shy smile.

"I- I'd really like that." He replied as he looked down to the floor, unable to keep eye contact with anyone. For someone who liked to pretend to be cocky, he had been really emotional lately, though that could just be due to the pregnancy. All of a sudden three pairs of arms were wrapped around him and Kai stiffened for a second until he realized that his three new boyfriends were giving him a group hug. After a moment of hesitation, Kai relaxed into the hug and returned, releasing a heavy sigh that he hadn't noticed he had been holding...
