Chapter 34: The Argument
Dream Starts
I heard a voice calling me, "Ale"
I turned around and it was the indigenous man. I was back at the same place where we usually talk. This time, it didn't feel as frightening to be here in this open space. It was familiar and comfortable to be in at this point. Last time it was windy and chaotic because I was literally about to die from being forcibly claimed. I looked down and I didn't have my pregnant belly. It was just me this time as well.
He had a worried expression, and I asked, "What's wrong?"
He said, "Before I tell you that, first I need to congratulate you for the accomplishments that you had made to everyone in my world. The universe and I want to thank you for all you have done to help the world. You helped Rosalie to tolerate Bella and her decisions, you helped Carlisle to see that he has treated Edward too favorably, the Cullens to leave Forks to prevent any more Quileutes phasing, you helped Sue and the elders to see their mistake on handling Sam/Leah/Emily situation, you helped Leah to find her path again, you helped Jacob to find the courage to communicate with his wolf spirit, and you helped Embry to accept himself. You have done so much within a month that we are thrilled to see how much my world will get back in place."
Then, his tone changed to solemnly, "However, because.. so much has changed from the original timeline in a short period of time, there is going to be a big resistance the moment you wake up from this conversation."
I asked, "A big resistance? What do you mean by that?"
He said, "Because my world was manipulated according to the wishes of the Meyers, the last remaining magic that is still in this world will make the last effort to bring the world more back to the original timeline. Her magic is remaining in this world due to the fact that from her writing, we are still in Breaking Dawn. Do you remember what the big plot point in that book was?"
I gasped, "Renesmee and Bella becoming a vampire? But, the circumstances around that has changed. I thought I had prevented it from happening?
He said, "Yes, but she has still yet to be born. What do you think Meyers' magic is going to do to bring back the original timeline?"
I groaned, "…The Cullens are going to try to have Renesmee back in Forks aren't they, to create the feud between the Pack and the Cullens? But, Jacob won't imprint on her, right? He is still in his spirit walk. I don't think his wolf spirit is vengeful enough to cave into the Meyer's magic this time. Her magic realized this and since it won't have the big battle in the series like the Volturi, it will happen between the Pack and the Cullens."
He said, "You're right. Jacob won't this time because he has already made peace with his wolf spirit. I won't tell you everything regarding him, he'll tell you himself. But, Jacob is on his way to prevent the Cullens and the Pack to fight. The universe and I have intervened too much at this point, and the world is a brink of collapse from our constant intervention. Our intervention constantly breaks the laws of order of this world, so we can no longer intervene at this point on. From the long spiritual walk that Jacob had, we have to pray that Jacob, despite of Meyer's persistent magic to create the fight between the Cullens and the pack, will make it in time to prevent it from happening. Once we stop Meyers' plan to succeed, we will be completely free from the original timeline and her magic will disappear."
I frowned, "What about the Volturi? Wouldn't her magic still try to create a scenario for the Volturi to pop up in this part of the story in Breaking Dawn? Also, why is it so important for the Cullens to survive?"
He continued, "No because the strand of plotline that created the Volturi to show up has been cut off before her magic even realized it. Before Bella got pregnant with Renesmee, the Cullens made their peace with the Denali Clan and Irina has no desire to report to the Volturi regarding them. She was finally able to let go of her hatred with the Quileutesfter hearing the possible future of her actions. Also, the Cullens are very important for the survival of all the supernatural life and mankind."
I asked, "How so?"
He asked, "It is pretty obvious. What kind of timeline you came from? What do you think would happen to the vampire world in the future?"
I said with realization, "I came from digital age world. Everything is online and easily exposed.. the vampire world in this timeline would eventually get exposed, right?"
He nodded, "Yes, and who is the best to help mediate between the supernatural and humanity?"
I gasped, "The Cullens. They can represent the vampire world and show the good side of the vampires or else…it might cause a catastrophic world. There will be wars, millions of deaths.. especially if they are gone and the only ones who represent the vampires are the Volturi since they do see the humans as a threat. I doubt they will ever change. They have been in reign for over like 2,000 plus years, and I don't see them ever changing. It would just edge the fight even more to be catastrophic."
He nodded, "Yes. Then, the Quileutes would be forced to be out of hiding and it would create a three-way war instead. A war between the shapeshifters, humans and vampires. That is why it is so essential for the Cullens to survive."
I stood there with my mouth agape. Wow. I mean there have been discussion of what it could possibly happen to the Twilightverse after Breaking Dawn, but because the book was loosely tied together in the end, no one knew if the supernatural were ever get exposed in the future. Well, now I know. They are, but depending on the actions now, it might be very bad or not so bad.
Knowing my thoughts, he nodded, "Yes, but we have to let you go now. Please go stall as much time for Jacob to arrive and to prevent the fight from occurring. Also, because Meyer's magic is making the last ditch effort to bring the original timeline back in order, the Quiletues are affected by her magic. Be aware! We have to let you go now."
Then, he started fading into the distance and frustrated, I asked, "What do you mean by that?"
Dream Ends
Present Time
I looked at Sam, appalled for the kind of tone that he was using with me. Then, I smelt this strong sweetly bleached smell and it made the babies kick inside of me, making my stomach look like it's twitching.
I groaned, "What's that smell?"
Paul and Sam frowned. I had this strong urge to throw up, so I jumped around them, and I went straight to the trashcan. I heaved as Paul was growling at Sam, "Go shower at my bathroom. The stench of the leeches is having a reaction to my pups."
I heard Sam grunted before walking away as the bathroom door closing. I felt Paul rubbing my back in circles, trying to comfort me. Am I smelling the scent of vampires? Is it due to the wolf-like pregnancy that not only it heightened my sense of smell but also to the point of the shapeshifters as well? This is just sadly confirming more on the theory that the babies will be born to be shapeshifters in the future.
I finally stopped throwing u, and I cleaned myself up as Paul helped me back to the couch. Everyone else served themselves food as they wait for Sam to get out of the shower and for me to start talking.
Everyone ate in silence.
I sat there at the couch, pondering, trying to process everything from the dream that I just had and what Sam just said as well. Sigh. The Cullens came back, but how did the wolves find out?
Sam came out of the shower, hair still wet, but no longer smelling like a vampire. Paul was sitting next to me in the couch, as Sam twisted the reclining chair to face me. I felt like I was being interrogated, and I didn't like it at all.
I asked quietly trying to de-escalate the situation , "How did you found out?"
Paul growled lowly, "We hadn't passed through the Cullens house for the past two weeks, and today we decided to go patrol around their residence to cover it in our smell to prevent other rogue vampires being attracted to their land. But you know what we find? They were there! So, Sam approached them" Then he nodded to Sam to finish his statement.
Sam added, "I went to their front door, demanding them for an explanation..Carlisle came out the door and he knew he messed up. He was out of words for the first time. Then..Then Bella came close to the door with Edward, Rosalie and Alice protecting her like bodyguards when I saw the monstrosity. Her stomach was heavily swollen, and it looked like she was about to pop any moment now. I smelled the vampire inside her stomach. Bella " He sneered " she tried to reason with me. Try to get me to see that that demon is not a monster but a gift and is very human. She even mentioned you Ale that told her that the demon is not a threat to humanity. But I wasn't having it. I demanded the Cullens to abort the demon by tonight or else face war with the pack by sunrise tomorrow."
I heard Brady, Collin, Jared, Quil, and Embry snarled in response.
Paul snarled as he was trembling next to me, "You betrayed us AGAIN."
Then Paul paused like he pieced something together and demanded, " Is it what you went to speak to them that one time when Seth got drugged?"
I sharply said, "No, I did not betray you. And Yes, that is what I went to speak to them about. I had to warn them of what would happen in Bella and Edward's honeymoon. I told them..that if they proceed to have the hybrid baby, then they will have to leave Forks or face total annihilation from the pack. That is what encouraged them to finally leave Forks. So again, I did not betray the pack. I tried to help you by keeping peace with the Cullens but..it seemed like my efforts were for naught because even after my warning, they still stayed."
Paul raising his voice, "Then why you didn't tell us? Why keep it as a secret?"
Losing my temper as well, not liking to Paul's tone toward me. I said raising my voice back, "Because I knew that you guys would react this way, that is why I didn't tell you guys! I wasn't planning to keep it as a secret forever, I was planning to eventually tell you guys once your hatred toward the Cullens subsided because it's your hatred toward them is clouding all of your judgement right now! I was trying to prevent an unnecessary war with Cullens!"
Paul at this point is now shouting, "an unnecessary war? Don't you get what they had done? They promised to leave but instead went against their promise. Not only that, they are trying to bring a monster to this world!"
I heard Leah growling in the distance, and Paul growled back, "Don't get in between me and my mate, bitch. Know your place."
Did..he just say that? This is NOT the Paul I know. Omigosh..is this what the indigenous man was referring to? Is Meyer's magic is fueling his anger, making him really detestable at this moment?
Leah bared her teeth with her eyes lighting up silver in not so hidden rage, but didn't say anything more with Seth looking down sorrowfully. More like she couldn't from the looks of her uncomfortable noises of clearing her throat. Looking at her, I realized I think..I think Leah was alpha ordered by Sam to not speak. Now, it just enraged me even more. I said angrily, "it's not a monster! The baby is very much human, and it is not a threat to the tribe nor to the world."
Sam chimed in angrily, "For how long? How long would it act human until they forget and go on a rampage on the tribe? I won't take that chance on my people nor innocent lives right now or in the distant future. "
I sighed frustratedly, "I get that you are worried about putting the tribes and people of forks' lives in danger, but you don't have to kill the Cullens! You could just banish them, and if the baby is so much of a threat, then the Volturi will find out and destroy the clan without you even doing. The Volturi already have the Cullens in surveillance because they see the potential gifts that they want and the size of the clan is a threat to the Volturi too. You don't have to go to war!"
Sam replied angrily, "Whether it is the people of reservation or forks, are you going to risk of lives from any part of the world just to show how 'human' that monster is?"
I said back angrily, "I know because there are already hybrids in this world. They have been around for about 300 years or so. It's already been so long, but they had not caused any destruction so far. I am certain they are not a threat. The war with the Cullens is unnecessary."
Paul growled, "We still can't take that risk! And how so? We have the numbers! We worked with them, so we know how they fight. We can easily take them out."
I said angrily both to Sam and Paul, "Yeah, but who were the ones who prepared you guys for the newborn army? The Cullens! No offense, but don't get too ahead of yourselves. You are risking the lives of the pack for this pointless war! You guys are not going to make this war without casualties on both sides! There is going to be bloodshed. Do you really want to put your pack's lives in line?"
I looked at Leah, and asked, "Do you want Seth to be in this war?"
Leah opened her mouth, but she looked frustrated as she was unable to speak, so she shook her head viciously. I threw my hand in gesture, "You see? There are some in your pack who don't even want to be in this war!"
Sam growled, "Whether they like it or not, they will have to fight under my order."
Frustrated, I called out Quil and Embry, "and you two? Are you in this as well? Do you think Jacob would wanted you to go war with the Cullens?"
Quil sneered, "I am doing this because of Jacob. The Cullens and Bella have hurt Jacob many times. I want him to come back to the reservation protected, not destroyed by that demon. It's time for them to pay the price of their actions" with Embry nodding his head in agreement with Quil.
Wow, one way or another, they are itching for a fight, and the more as we spoke the more dread and hopelessness creeping up to me. I just looked at them astonished. I really am not getting through none of them, so I said, "I had a dream in my nap before you guys came."
I told them my dream, and the guys huffed angrily. Sam said, "How do we know you aren't saying that to stop us from attacking the Cullens?"
He isn't going take seriously the words of their spirits? Have they lost their damn minds? I said angrily, "Have I ever lie to you?"
Paul growled bitterly, "No, but you have withheld information from us time and time again."
I said with a heavy heart, "And time again, I have told you that you have to trust me because as a peacemaker, it's a heavy burden, Paul. Don't you get that? I just can't say things as I please, one move and its all over for all of us!"
I flinched when I felt my stomach jumping from the multiple kicks of the babies. All the intense emotions thrown around the room and shouting, it had disturbed the babies. I try to coo them to calm down, caressing them with my hand as tears of frustration and sorrow was building up, but I refused to let them fall down.
Sam scoffed, "I will speak to the elders and tell them our plans. If the Cullens haven't abort that monster by morning, we will go to war."
Sam stood up, and he head motioned all the guys to leave. Jared, Quil, Embry,
He said without looking back, "Think about the pups, that's your role now. You have done enough, Alexandria. Goodbye."
Paul closed the door, turned around and looked at me with his eyes glowing silver and his teeth barring at me. Paul just looked vicious..He..He never looked at me like that before not even when I sneaked my way out of Seth. He was angry, but not like this.
Author's Note:
Yikes! No wonder the Cullens showed up again.
Next chapter, there is going to be some possible rough sex for Paul trying to dominate his "defiant" mate. No rape. I don't condone that. I don't find that kinky either. Anyone who is uncomfortable with the smut and possible rough sex, you can skip the next chapter.
Let's hope Jacob comes back in time, kick some ass and challenge Sam for Alpha! The pack's personality will go back to normal. I just did it according how I remembered how they reacted in Breaking Dawn. It felt a little out of character from Sam, me personally. I always thought he was diplomatic, so I didn't see it Sam's character to immediately to kill Bella as a human and destroy the Cullen clan. I know he takes people's lives seriously, but I thought he would try find alternatives before going to war..Then again it was also Sam's character (was it his idea? I can't rmb, its been so long since I read the books but I know Leah mentioned it was one of the pack's ideas) to think of maybe letting Jacob kill Renesmee out of grief if Bella doesn't make it to transform into a vampire. So, I don't know?
Imma try to send the next chapter either later tonight or early tomorrow.
As always, reviews are very much appreciated.
