As soon as Jax and Tara walked into the cafe, the smell of fresh coffee brewing and breakfast of various food cooking In the back kitchen of the cafe hit Tara's nostrils. She was so hungry that she could feel her stomach starting to growl and her mouth watering. Scanning around the cafe, Tara spotted an empty table for two by a window in the corner.
" Let's sit over there." Tara suggested as she nudged her head towards the table. Watching Jax nods his head in agreement, Tara smiles even wider as she grabs hand as she started to walk towards the table pulling Jax along with her.
Just as they sat down across from each other, a waitress walked up to them with two menus in her hands." Good morning and welcome to Cafe Rose. I'm Linda and I will be your waitress this morning." She said as she hand the menus out for Jax and Tara to take.
Opening the menu Tara knew right away what she wanted." I would like to order Beldgen Waffles with a lot of whipped cream and I would also like one of your guys fruit bowls, also Coffee Decaf." Tara says as she closed the menu and hands it back to the waitress who just simply nodded her head.
" What about you handsome?" Linda the waitress asked as she turned her attention back to Jax with a huge flirtatious grin on her face that Tara secretly wanted to smack off, but for the safety of their unborn baby, Tara held back.
Without giving the waitress any attention, Jax kept his eyes on the menu." I will take your eggs with Bacon, Potatoes and Coffee, no cream but four spoons of sugar." Jax says as he closed the menu and without taking his eyes off of Tara he hands back the menu which Linda took.
" I will be back with your orders." Linda responded with a scowling look on her face as she walked away from them. Jax reached over across the table and took Tara's hand.
" You doing okay?" Jax asked softly as he gently rub his thumb along her knuckles.
" I am fine Jax, the waitress is lucky I didn't jump up and smack that huge flirtatious grin off of her face." Tara grumbled bitterly. They've only been in Chicago for one day and already women is already flirting with Jax right in front of her. Tara took a deep breath as pulled her hand back." I am going to go use the rest room." Tara says as she got up and walked over to Jax." I will be right back." She said as she gave him a quick kiss on the lips and headed towards the women's rest room.
Watching Tara walking towards the rest rooms. He couldn't help but smirk at the thought of his old lady slapping that waitress across her face would be a definite turn on for him. His thoughts of his girl was suddenly interrupted when the waitress came back with their order.
" So, where's your friend?" Linda asked as she set both plates down and noticed Tara wasn't sitting at the table." I hope she didn't suddenly abandoned you." She said with a small chuckle.
Jax snorts shaking his head as he took a drink of his coffee." She's not mine friend, she's my old lady and she didn't abandon me. She went to use the rest room, she will be back soon." Jax responded in the nicest way possible as he set his cup down.
Linda's smile suddenly fell when she heard the girl he is with isn't his friend...but his old lady, whatever the hell that means." Oh, well enjoy your guys breakfast. If you need anything just let me know." Linda says in disappointment as she walked away from the table. She then turned her attention back to her other customers.
Walking back towards the table and back to Jax, Tara heard someone calling her name or at least she that's what she thought she heard. She just shrugged her shoulders as she continues to walk back towards Jax.
" Tara? Tara Knowles?" Tara heard the voice again as she sat back down across from Jax. She looked up and noticed the person calling out to her walking towards them. Someone from her past.
" Hey, Ginger." Tara responded as she picked up the coffee cup and took a drink from it. She looked back at Jax who raised his brow at her in question. Tara just rolled her eyes as she was hoping she didn't have introduce Jax to this woman.
" Um, Jax this Ginger Callaway, she's an...old friend from High School. Ginger, this is Jax Teller my old man." Tara says as she introduced them. She grimace as she knew she was gonna regret it later.
" Old man? I though Josh was your old man." Ginger responded with a snort." I mean does he even know about this?" She asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Tara rolled her eyes with annoyance." What do you want, Ginger?" Tara asked ignoring her question and for a very good reason. She's kinda surprised that nobody hasn't told Ginger about Josh or Clay yet.
" Just wondering what you doing back in Chicago, I mean nobody hasn't heard from you in months. So, what you doing back here?" Ginger asked curiously.
" I am here to visit my mom and pick up the rest of my stuff at my old apartment, before the manager rents it out." Tara simply answered. She was really hoping Ginger would just go away already.
Ginger just nodded her head. She was about to ask another question when someone called her name. She glanced over and noticed her friend was already ready to go. She quickly turned her attention back to Tara." I gotta go, maybe I will catch you before you leave."
" Yeah, maybe." Tara says with a fake smile. When Ginger finally left she scoffed and shook her head. She then started to eat her waffles that was luckily still warm.
" Wanna tell me what that was all about?"
" I will tell you later." Tara says as she took a drink of her decaf coffee. After they were done with their breakfast and after Jax paid the bill. Tara got up from the table and grabs her purse and jacket as she walked out of the cafe with Jax following behind her.
" Hey, Jax says as he gently grab Tara by the wrist and pulls her closer. He then leans down as he kisses her passionately and deeply as he places his hand against her growing stomach." I love you." He says softly as he rest his forehead against hers.
" I love you too." Tara says softly as she brushed her fingertips against his beard and leans as she kisses him more passionately and deeply as she moans softly against his lips.
After they got back into the truck and got buckled in. Jax drove away from the cafe and towards the floral shop that Tara told him about last night.
" So, how do you know about this place?" Jax asked as soon as they walked into Colorful blooms floral shop. As he looked around he never saw so many flowers and bouquets in his life before.
" This is were I always bought my mom's flowers mostly every day I went to go visit her grave. Mrs. Honey is a very sweet old lady. She owns this place, she was like a second mother to me. After my mom passed away and ever since I started to come here, we used to talk all the time, mostly about anything. She was the first person I told about my new job at St. Thomas." Tara responded as they started to walk around.
While walking around the shop Tara spotted Mrs. Honey tending to one of the bouquets." Hey, Mrs. Honey." Tara started to say as she started to walk towards the old lady.
" Oh my God, Tara dear." Mrs. Honey exclaimed as she put her garden tool down and walked over to Tara as she gave her a warm hug." What brings you back to Chicago?" She asked as she let Tara go.
" I am here just visiting my mom and picking up the rest of my stuff at my old apartment." Tara responded with a friendly smile. Tara then turn around and grabs Jax's hand and pulls him towards her side. She then turn back to Mrs. Honey.
" Mrs. Honey, I would like you to meet Jax Teller, my boyfriend. Jax I would like you to meet Mrs. Honey." Tara says with a huge smile on her face.
" Boyfriend huh? Nice! He's definitely an upgrade from that Josh guy. It's nice to meet you dear." Mrs. Honey responded as she shook Jax's hand.
" You too Ma'am." Jax responded with a nod and a friendly smile.
" So, is there a specific flowers your looking for?" Mrs. Honey asked Tara as she let go Jax's hand.
" Do you still have those Pink roses?" Tara asked as she glanced around.
" I think I got some in the back. Let me go check." Mrs. Honey responded as she turned around and walked away from Jax and Tara for a moment. Tara then started to walk towards the bouquets and leans over as she gave them a sniff.
" Mmmm, I love the smell of her flowers." Tara says as she smiles softly as she tug an strand of hair behind her ear." So, what do you think of Mrs. Honey?" She asked as she looks over at Jax.
" She's nice. I can see why you like her. So, I am an upgrade huh?" Jax asked with a smirk as he slowly licks his bottom lip.
" I think so." Tara says as she teases him a little. She then laughs little as she shook her head." It just means I have found someone better." Tara responded as she leans up and kisses him deeply and passionately as she smiles against his lips." And she's right, I did find someone better."
Mrs. Honey came out from the back clearing her throat to get their attention." Are these the pink roses you had in mind?" She asked walking up to them.
" Oh wow, yeah. These are definitely them." Tara responded as she took them from her. " How much for them?"
" Tara dear, your always asking that question and you know what my answer is always going to be." Mrs. Honey says shaking her head." Your money is not needed.
" Yeah, I know but I always feel bad when I don't pay. So, would you let me pay for these." Tara responded as she gave Jax the flowers and pulled out her wallet from her purse. She was about to pull out some money when Mrs. Honey stops her.
" Tara sweetie, please put your money away. Those are for your mom, and there's no price for it. Your money is no good for here." She said as pulls her hand back.
Tara just nods her head as she put her money and wallet back into her purse. She then threw her arms around Mrs. Honey and gave her a warm hug." Thank you." She said softly.
" Of course." Mrs. Honey says as she let's Tara go." Oh by the way, how long far are you?" She asked as she finally noticed her baby bump.
" About two months along." Tara responded as she placed her hand against her abdomen with a huge smile.
" And, do you guys know what you're having?"
" No, not yet. but we are going to find out soon enough though."
" Well, when you guys do find out. Will you give me a call?" Mrs. Honey asked with excitement.
Tara nods her head." Of course I will, and thanks again for the pink roses." Tara said as she gave her one more hug.
" Of course dear, go see your mom and have a safe trip back home." Mrs. Honey says as she returned the hug and shook Jax's hand." You take good care of my girl here."
" I will I can definitely promise that." Jax responded with a nod.
" Bye Mrs. Honey." Tara responded. as she took Jax's hand and started to walking out of the floral shop with him.
" You doing okay babe?"
Tara nods her head as she looks back towards the floral shop." Yeah, I am fine Jax. Wanna know why I call her Mrs. Honey?"
" Yeah, I was wondering about that."
" Growing up, my mom always told me to respect my elders and no matter what always call them by their last names, and so I always called her Mrs. Honey and she was always okay with it.
" What's her first name?"
" I never asked honestly." Tara says with a shrug as she opened her passenger door and climbed back into the truck. Tara never really thought of asking Mrs. Honey what her first name is since she never seen her wear a name tag. But now she's little curious.
Next stop is to her mom's grave...
