Chapter 6: Twenty Chairs

Oslo Ultity Center
Oslo International Airport
Oslo Norway
Ten am
With the onset of hovercraft, flying houseboats, flying aircraft carriers, the works, modern airports were going the way of the dodo. So it seemed. But the Oslo airport, known to the locals as the Oslo Lufthavn. The Templars loved the old modern airports, that even with the Equator City, air travel was quickly becoming the go to method of transportation thanks to the onset of the Magnetic Controller Engine system that most cars had.
Only six hours before, at four am in Arendelle, two cats had been making kittens together. So at that same moment it found the desired package that Xeir and Silvermane Elisar had arrived.
Watching its tracker, they managed to follow it unseen to the location. What they did not know was why it was so heavily guarded. A military plane had brought it to Oslo airport. And from there a military convoy had picked it up. "Why is it being delivered by military transport ?" Xeir asked
"No idea" Silvermane said as she tapped the digital holo screen of the datastream she and Xeir were using to track the package. "According to this, the package is on that plane." She said
"Can you get a readout of the plane ? Floor by floor, a C190 like that is at least a three level plane" Xeir said, it was a big military plane for sure.
"Lets see" Silvermane replied, she typed in a string of commands. "Bingo, its a three level plane, and according to this, the package is in a secure shakepoof vault on the centeral level, its like they dont want to jar it open or something ?" Silvermane was confused by the sheer level of technology, like they wanted to contain a bomb or something on board.
"Looks like our job just got harder" Xeir said, flexing her fingers as she watched the plane come in for landing, then it taxied on the runway to a marked off location. "Full military convoy, I recognise the symols too." She pointed out six Templar trucks, a dozen soldiers in each
"Ok so, twelve, twenty four, thirty six... seventy two soldiers." Silvermane counted the soldiers out as they exited the trucks. "Why so many soldiers ?"
"Maybe they are expecting us ? That much firepower. I'm not sure if my scales can withstand it." Xeir mused.
"They might be going overboard for me" Silvermane replied, which made Xeir snicker. "Those soldiers are nothing like what the High Priest back in Arendelle is recruiting though." Silvermane said, using a pair of digital binoculars to track the convoy and spy on the plane
"They're Templars." Xeir replied simply. The soldeirs Kiyori sought were nothing like the Templars
"Templars again huh ? They fell off the radar some time ago, now they're back ?" Silvermane asked
"If what we're tracking is indeed a Piece of Eden, then yeah, those are Templars. The High Priest has no idea of Pieces of Eden and is only focused on star shards" Xeir replied, she had been working out a plan to get things done by that point.
"He still wants that thing huh ?" Silvermane spoke up, indicating the star shard that Xeir had in her pocket. Thing had been dropped, used as bait, shot at, and most timesd simply just left in the hot sun for too long, and nothing touched it or damaged it in any manner.
"He wants them all, its the only way to fix... well. The stars for example, the last few nights you saw them spinning weird." Xeir said. Silvermane nodded. "I think I know a way to end this once and for all."
"First though, lets get the Piece of Eden while we can, every convoy has a weakness" Silvermane said as the two watched through a pair of digital electric binoculars.
"True, and in this case that weakness is not where they put the Piece, but the truck they put it in. Damnit, they all are identical trucks. How will we know where it is ?" Xeir replied.
"Because we're tracking it, look, we hit the rear of the colony, then when they all stop or maybe keep going, we nail the front of the colony. It will confuse the convoy into thinking the attack is random." Silvermane said to her.
Xeir was confused, attacking a military convoy at an airport was not the best of ideas. "Can you track its route ? The last thing eithe of us want is to attack a convoy at an airport, lets wait until its on the road." Xeir then said in thought.
Silvermane nodded and started tracking the package, "Its moving into the center truck" She said, "By the look of things, they're going to head right for the ultility street behind us."
"I'll get ahead of it, let me know which way it turns. Then once its clear of airport property, nail the back of the convoy" Xeir said.
"Right, see you in a bit then ?" Silvermane said, Xeir snickered and left, heading for where they kept their hoverbikes. Silvermanes hoverbike had a armored basket on it to carry the Apple of Eden, that is what she was told was in it. Xeir only hoped the plan would work as planned. Lately, everything was too easy. It cant have been that easy. To track the package without being fooled ? It made Xeir nervous to say in the least.
But she did not voice her concerns. Silvermane had carefully tracked everything, to the point of nearly causing three traffic accidents just tracking the package while it was in the air, and while they were on the move as it was.
Now they had one last step, get the thing from the Templars. Hopefully it wouldnt end in a complete blood bath.
Silvermane however had gauged their exact path, and also the armor, and weaponry type the soldiers carried and used. Which made Xeir nervous again. The soldeirs were armed, were they expecting to be attacked ?
It turns out her concerns were well founded. Xeir sped down the road soundlessly, a good kilometer away before halting as Silvermanes voice came over the radio. "Xeir, they're heading your way. The whole lot. They just passed me and are on the main road. I am going to wait half a minute and then follow."
"Fine, I'll radio you to hit the last one when I see the first truck" Xeir replied
"Roger that. Have fun!" The cheerful voice of Silvermane then faded from the radio, Xeir then turned her bike and waited, crossing the road and looking towards the convoy. Xeir activated a portal, a place unseen activated a hidden armory. Xeir withdrew a rocket launcher from the swirling vertex of energy. The rocket loaded she waited.
She didnt have long to wait. From around the bend she heard the rumble of engines. Keying her radio Xeir said as the first truck rounded the bend in the road ahead of her. "Silvermane, hit it"
"Its party time!" Came the reply as a plume of smoke and a resounding explosion rang out as Silvermane hit the last truck in the convoy.
Inside the trucks was pure chaos as the soldeirs struggled to find what happened and then also why. The truck at the front received the orders to continue forwards, the truck behind it as well. "Xeir, the first truck!" Silvermanes voice came over the radio. "Take out the first truck and focus on the second one, the second one has the package!"
There was another explosion as Silvermane caught the second truck of the rear part of the convoy in a fireball of power.
The first truck accelerated as soon as he saw Xeir on her hoverbike. "What are you doing ?" Asked his fellow passneger as the driver hit the gas hard. The truck roared towards Xeir.
Xeir took aim and launched the rocket, it plowed into the center of the truck, causing it to explode in a fireball. All the soldiers in it either jumped out on fire, only to get cutdown by Xeirs pistols, or were dead as they burned alive.
The last truck hit the gas and plowed through the fireball. Sending the wreckage of the truck before it flying aside as it roared towards Xeir. Xeir smirked.
This was too easy. Transforming in size, she grew brought up a foot. Her draconic weight of a unmovable object met unstoppable force in the sound of a hard boom of raw silence. Xeir quickly resized to human sized of seven feet tall and ducked as the truck, now in ruins, fliped over her. The paccakge flung out of its cradle yet never opened.
She never saw Silvermane watching every move. "I did not know you could do that" She said
"A few do" Xeir replied.
A moan came from the last truck as soldiers fell out, gathering their wits the soldeirs got to their feet and scrambled to form some form of coherent squad as the two women who ruined their convoy simply watched, seemingly bored.
"Have you had enough yet ?" Xeir finally asked as the dozen men left alive finally realised the convoy was destroyed. They had no where to go as the silver and white haired woman before them, along with her silver and black haired friend watched them.
"You have two choices, one, you can run and keep your lives, two, you can die, right now." Xeir told them. As one the men raised their weapons to fire.
"Well, you let them make a choice." Silvermane told her as Xeir held the bridge of her nose.
"Yeah, I was hoping they would chose to run instead." Xeir sighed as she drew a sword. The white blade glittered clear. She dropped to a knee, the sword stabbing into the ground of the destroy pavement. Raw energy burst from the blade, ripping into the soldiers. Sending their firing line into shambles.
Silvermane opened fire with her pistol, taking out the last remaining stragglers of the convoy. When they were sure there were none left. Xeir went t othe package. "That's it, that's what we came for" Silvermane told her.
"You're sure" Xeir asked her
"Of course, the track is that thing, its in that thing. Of course I am sure." Silvermane replied, "Why ?"
"This whole thing reeks of a trap, the last six months, finding the information of the transport, waiting for it to clear customs, waiting for it to come here. Getting it, these low level soldiers. Everything, It feels far too easy, like someone planned this before we got wind of it." Xeir told her.
Silvermane had to a think a minute then nodded. "You have a point, either way, we got the package now."
"True, we may have the package, but those that sent it might also be tracking it too, so they would know where it went if it went off course" Xeir said, she knew, at least from her Nothings memories, Elsas time with Mark for examplehad shown her how the Templars worked
"So what should we do ?" Silvermane asked her. "We got the package in the street, a ruined convoy around it. What next ?" The silver and black haired woman was confused. What was the next step ?
"We take it with us without opening it, when we get somewhere else, we open it" Xeir said, she picked up the package, it was about ther size of a shoebox one might get a sporting goods store like Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's. "It is heavy" She said, setting the thing in the armored basket on Silvermanes hoverbike before going back to her own bike.
Then the two sped off as the wreckage still burned, the emergency crews began to arrive as they fled the area.

Twenty Minutes later
Twenty minutes later and the two women parked their hoverbikes outside a old warehouse, well hidden and away from prying eyes. Taking the package inside, also away from most forms of technology the two ensured they were alone before opening it.
All sorts of things could go wrong, Xeir knew. Which was why, as Silvermane handled the outside layer of the package to at least get it openable, Xeir had said she would open it.
She reached down to open the box.
Arendelle
Marketplace District Den
At that same moment
Mark stumbled down the stairs in a drug hazed stupor. Everyone had heard what was going on in the bedroom. Diana was proud of Mark for finally taking the plunge, Vaeyuko was smiling yet didnt appear to show it, and Shadowmane was simply amused and never asking why the noise was so loud.
Topaz and her brother, along with Asami and Kaezin, were at the Galasia District Den when it happened so they had no idea why Mark was in a drugged haze at that moment.
Irie called for her mother as Mark sat on the sofa, his body hurt all over. Everyone could see the claw marks that Irie left on him. They had made love. Really gone at it, just like any pair of horny cats would.
Irie was not going to be able to walk straight for a week. And even well after that, Irie was going to be carrying kittens. If Vaeyuko could manage it, those same kittens could be born somewhere else, like the Mythic Realm or at Light's Palace.
Mark sat in shock on the sofa, staring at the TV. All night long he and Irie enjoyed themselves. And now he hurt. His brain was broken. Horny Chief had fully taken over, and nobody wanted to try and ask the shellshocked Snow Leopard what happened.
Vaeyuko ducked up the stairs to see to Irie. From the sounds of things, Irie was happy, and so was Vaeyuko. Mark was a dad to his own cousins kittens. Irie needed a Dove to ensure the possiblity that she was now pregneant.
A portal opened and a dove had appeared, checking Irie and then also ensuring Irie was healthy, Irie was both happy and healthy.
Irie was going to be a mother. A moment passed and Vaeyuko stepped back downstairs. "Alright, here's the deal, for the next few weeks, Irie is out of comission." Vaeyuko announced. The Dove gently picked up Irie and helped her get dressed in her room as Marks tired body finally began to relax.
"Really, you do not suppose what happened last night is the result of that ?" Shadowmane asked her sister
"Its more like it is rather complicated and the Doves want to ensure Irie is healthy, as well as if she is indeed with kitten, they want to keep an eye on them too" Vaeyuko said to her sister in their dialect that not even Mark could translate.
"Knowing how they went at it, Irie is with kitten" Shadowmane replied. Blackmane snickedred. "Maybe even more then one"
"How many kittens can a Cheetah have ?" Topaz asked out of the blue, only to get a death glare from Mark, but she ignored it, it was a genuine question, but why she asked it at the time did not make sense whatsoever.
"That is a good question, but its not something we can look up easily." Vaeyuko replied, "Either way, The Doves will take Irie to a safer, healthier location, and can care for her there" Vaeyuko also explained further that she too will go with Irie with the Doves. "Before I leave, is there anything anyone needs ?"
"Have a Dove check on him" Blackmane jerked a thumb at Mark, her nephew still staring at the tv, it showed the local weather forcast for Oslo.
"Right, let me inform Kiru. She is with Irie now." Vaeyuko said.
A minute later and a grumpy voice broke in on Marks thoughts. "I am not wanting to do this, so do not blame me" It was Wezaki. Whom Mark had tangled with a few times when he and Sazhori worked together in Sacremento. Mark did not react to Wezaki being present, she tested first his reflexes and had to duck fast before he nailed her in the nose. "His reflexes are good, I think he is just in shock" She saw why he was in shock then and asked for a towel for him.
The fact that nobody else really worried of Mark being starkers at that moment allowed Wezaki to get him at least presentable. Nobody seemed to comment on the fact that Mark still had a good setup. Then again they were all family there and Mark, and both of his older sisters, all slept in the same bed butt naked anyway.
Wezaki did not ask any further questions, but managed to get Mark fully relaxed and flexible once again. Mark slumped in the sofa, and screamed. "OW!"
"Lungs work, that's good" Wezaki smirked. Mark glared at her.
"The hell are you doing here ?" He asked the Dove.
"I am not here by choice" Wezaki replied simply, "Blame my boss, ever since she became a colonel, Kiru Maitsai has been ordering me around and said I was the best one for this job becasuse we had worked together before." Wezaki explained
"All you did was heal my cousin" Mark replied with a pained grunt as Wezaki losened his stiff muscles. "Can I go back to bed yet ?" He was stuck as a Snow Leopard for the forseeable future., but Wezaki agreed and with Lazul helping Mark to his room, Mark at least had some dignity with the Dove there.
Looking to Blackmane, Wezxaki answered the unasked question. "He'll be fine, he'll revert to his human self by dinner in a day or so, if he doesnt, call me" She tossed an item to Blackmane, it was a old flipphone, a burner phone.
Mark collapsed onto his bed in a heap, Soon as Lazul was gone, he felt Hyperion suddenly project from the mindscape, as Hyperion formed from the plexus, so did some shelves of books. "Well, you surely did a number on yourself now didnt you ?" Hyperion murmured softly at sight of Mark
"Fuck" Mark replied, looking around, he was himself, inside his mindscape, his body next to them asleep. He was projecting like Hyperion was ? "What just happened ?"
"It seems you and Big Chungus as you called him some time ago, seemed to have gotten over the fact that you are a widower, Irie was inviting." Hyperion replied.
"That is not what I was asking" Mark replied in a grumpy tone
"Yes actually, it was. And no it was not. So I will answer your unasked question. I think I have found a solution to bringing back Kalda. He might have done so as well. But you will have to visit certain locations. You're going to need all of our help, and soon."
"You, Kalda, chungus... wonderful. All three of you, plus me." Mark grumbled. "Alright, any idea of what I'm facing ?" He asked
"Nope, cant help you there. But I can give you some advice." Hyperion replied
"Advice is good" Mark said with a nod, it was always good to get advoice, were he to use it or not was another story entirely. Lately he relied on advice.
"You need to not worry of your cousin, Irie, from what I have heard from the Dove, Irie and her mother, Vaeyuko are quite safe." Hyperion.
"I did it, didnt I ?" Mark asked, he fucked his own cousin!
"You did, but again you need not worry about it, she was not related to you by blood, so it was not incest, but then even to the Chief, blood relations wouldnt matter to him either," Hyperion replied
"So why am I projecting like you ?" Mark asked. None of this made sense, normally he couldnt astral project, he never learned how without hasving a fainting attack and then just sleeping off his attempts.
"Because the Chief is currently clouding your brainscape. Kalda continues to meditate, so I figured it best for us both to Project from your mindscape, dont worry, everyone thinks you are asleep right now." Hyperion replied, that answered that.
Mark sat on the bed, "So I really did it, through the Chief, I..." He couldnt finish the sentence, he laughed. "Alright, when I did it with Georgina, was that any of you or was it just me blind drunk ?"
"It was all you, you were drunk, and so was she, as a result, I imprinted upon your son, Auji, he too can conjure a beautiful set of wings to fly." Hyperion replied, "This however, it was all him, using your body, you are more then likely a father again wether or not you like it or dont." Hyperion told him
Mark gave him a dirty look.
Oslo Norway
Warhouse area
At that same moment
Xeir picked up the package, it was still rather heavy, a plain box. She held it about waist level and leaned it briefly on her hip at her left side.
She lifted the lid. And time seemed to slow to a crawl as six things happened all at once.
The first thing that happened and threw Xeir for a loop was the sudden extreme assault of raw sound, silence really, upon her ears
The second was Silvermanes panicked shriek and yell
The third was the light, the insane raw, bright blinding light.
The fourth was the heat, out of nowhere a blast from a furnace, raw heat.
The fifth was the fire, the flames licking at her face and chest.
And finally, the sudden feeling of weightlessness as Xeir, and Silvermane were both thrown off their feet.
Silvermane collidied with a pillar and laid on the ground in a heap at its base.
Xeir threw her left, scaled arm up to cover her face, but the power of the blast was too strong and she could feel the fire and heat boiling on her skin, she felt too her soothing cool diamond strength scales forming on her body where the head spread from, from her point of appendix, wherein Elsa did have hers removed, to her face, scales sprouted and covered her injuries as she too was thrown backwards.
Xeir blasted through a pillar and laid on the ground for a moment. Spoke and fire burned around them, the warehouse, aside from them at the time, was devoid of anything inside it. Silvermane's place of renting residence was a good mile across the city.
Smoke filled the warehouse as the fire burned on the ground. The roof of the warehouse crumbled and bits of the ceiling coppalsed, sending thick black smoke and causing the fire to spread rapidly around them.
For five long moments there was no sound execept crumbling wood and collapsing ceiling.
Finally Silvermane stirred. "Oh, oh no, Blessed Light, that hurt!" She crowed out. She stumbled to her feet.
Silvermane tried to make out in the thick smoke where Xeir had gone. "Xeir ?" Debris fell from the still burning ceiling. Sirens began to sound outside, the bomb triggered a fire alarm. And judging by how fast the fire was spreading, it looked like a five alarm fire waiting to grow.
A flick of the wrist and Silvermane brought herself and Xeir into the Mirror Dimenesion, there was still debris scattered and falling, but none of it would touch her them until they touched it directly.
Silvermane finally found Xeir buried under some debris and a beam. "Xeir!" She rolled her friend over, the Silverdragon broaned, Silvermane made note to ensure that coming out of the Mirrors they'd be in her house so Xeir could get some privacy.
As she was rolled over by Silvermane, Xeir said one word. "...Ow" Some more trash and junk fell around them outside the mirrors. Silvermane took in the extent of Xeirs injuries and saw that what had to be the center of the blast was hip level, right over where Elsa had her appendix taken out. From there the plast spread across Xeirs body, down a leg, across her hest and stomach, even in her face.
"You look like hell" Silvermane told her friend. It made Xeir try to smile, but even though Silvermane thought it was funny, Xeir started to laugh then coughed in pain
"I feel like it too" She grunted. Looking around she was the extent of the damage. And also saw the fire departments begging to spray water onto the flames. "Get me out of here." Xeir said, she reached a hand to her friend, the Tigris pulled her to her feet and opened a portal from the mirrors to a room.
More trashed warehouse started to collapse around them as the two women stumbled into Silvermanes livingroom. As the portal closed the rest of the warehouse collapsed and crumbled in a heap of ruin.
"Well, guess that was a Bomb, somewhere along the line they must have tricked me somehow." Silvermane said
"Heh" Xeir groaned as she tried to laugh, the pain still hurt but it was slowly fading. "I told you, it was too easy, it was like they had baited us from the start. That stuff in the bomb, it was Kerosene, propane, butane, and dry ice." Xeir said, all three of those chemicals were incredibly volatile, to the point of vaporising the person mixing them.
"So why didnt it go off when we attacked the convoy ? Why did it wait until you opened it ?" Silvermane asked, she grabbed a can of alo vera, a spraypaint type can of it, and went to Xeir, "Even with your scales to protect your burns, this will help sooth them and also help your scales sooth the pain. Hold still" She said, she started gently spraying on every burn site she could find as Xeir finally just went naked, dropping her ruined dress to the floor. Her body covered in beautiful dragon scales that hid all the naughty parts just so.
Xeir twitched as the soothing alovera touched the burns, but Silvermane never let up, she gave Xeir a full rinse in the stuff. Xeir hissed softly as Silvermane did a careful job around the point of the explosion's core impact against her skin. "I think, Ow, I think... it was an …. ow! Watch it!... I think it was a sealed box, designed to take damage, hence the dry ice casing."
"So it took a beating, and then when you opened it, it exploded even before you got the thing open enough to see inside it to see if it was indeed the Apple, which we know it wasnt." Silvermane said, by that point Xeir had been given a shiny polish of Aloevera spray on her scales, which made them shine a pale amber in the sunlight. They could see the smoke from the ruined warehouses
"Our hoverbikes are safe right ?" Xeir asked, then she remembered, "Wait, nevermind, we dropped them at the car park on the edge of the complex and walked to that warehouse." She was having brief seconds of memory issues it looked like.
"Are you alright ? I think that blast might have knocked a few things loose in your head there" Silvermane said, Xeir smiled stiffly. "Look, you got your things in the bedroom over there if you want to dress in something soft that wont harm your scales. Unless you want me to get the car polish and give you a wax job."
"With this pain ?" Xeir gave her a funny look, as well as a look a human with dragon scales covering every molocule of her body, and a pair of gorgeous dragon horns sticking out of her head looking like a crown could give. "Tell you what, fill the tub with lukewarm water, mixed with the aloevera, and let me soak for twenty minutes to get my mind back in order. After that the pain will have died out, I hope."
"So you want the wax job ?" Silvermane smirked
"I want the wax job, but not right now." Xeir said in reply.
"Right soak first, wax later, got it." Silvermane said, she turned on the nearby holo scren TV that projected onto the wall. The first thing to come onto the screen of course was the fire they had caused. Silvermane ignored it as she went to start the tub for Xeir. Basic room temperture water was doable. But the pressure was low thanks to the fire fighting efforts not far away.
"I never expected the news crews to get there so quickly." Xeir intoned softly.
"In Oslo, the news is always rapid" Silvermane replied, she changed the channel. "Pressure is a bit low, but its lukewarm for now. I'l see if I can get your dress repaired though"
"Dont bother. I have another just like it in my room." Xeir said to her. Silvermane smiled, that was settled.
"See you in twenty minutes" Silvermane said.
Xeir smirked as she got in the tub, the comforting flow of water soon enveloped her beaten battered body. Her scales scattered refrectured light in all directions as they shined with the light of the sun in the window. For once Xeir felt she could relax and she nearly fell asleep in the tub.
Twenty minutes later and Silvermane had the polish ready to go for a proper cleaning job on Xeirs scales.
Two Days Later
Arendelle
International District
Ten am.
"Home sweet home huh ?" Silvermane asked as she and Xeir stepped off the hovertrain at the Arendelle station. The two looked around, Xeir with her dragon vision, Silvermane with her own version of it called Tigris Vision. There were no enemies in sight, curious onlookers however at the face of Xeir. But they did not press her for questions.
Xeirs face had thankfully healed quicker then the rest of her body, allowing her scales to fade away as if nothing had happened, but it looked as if she wore a scale shirt like piece under her dress. Which was not the case
"Yeah, home sweet home." Xeir replied. She took a deep breath and let it out. "But somehow, it does not feel like home." Could Arendelle really be her home when her home was really somewhere else ?
"Still think we need to tell the rest of the Brotherhood the plan ?" Silvermane asked her.
"Yeah, we also have to tell them of the bomb, and how you nearly got killed." Xeir replied, giving Silvermane a pointed look
The silver and black Tigris woman smirked. "Hey I'm a Tigris, I got nine lives" She said
"Yeah, but which life are you at ? Your first or your last ?" Xeir said, the two women stared at each other, then they broke down briefly in a fit of giggles before going to get their baggage. People gave the two women a wide berth however as they passed, it was strange, Xeir noted; for the people to actively avoid them, was it her arm ? Her eyes ? Then she realised it, her horns! "Where's a bathroom ?" She asked to Silvermane, the two ducked into a ladies room.
Xeir saw her dragon horns poking out through her long silverwhite hair in the mirror. "No wonder people are keeping away from us, they're scared because they think you're gonna smite them."
"They're scared because they dont know who I really am. Or what I really am" Xeir replied, a groan and soft hiss later and the horns retracted into flesh and then formed part of her hair without trouble. "Oh my Mother's Love I hate doing that. One of these days I am just gonna fly around in my Dragon form and let air traffic control have a heart attack" Hding her horns gave her headaches constantly.
In the Mythic Realm Xeir could be in human form, and still have her horns in full plain view, and nobody would bat an eye. But in the Mortal realm, that was more an issue then she'd like to admit, normally Xeir would act as if her horns were a hairpiece, going so far as to even adding a hairband to look the part.
But then she remembered, the entiure time she was in Arendelle, the last year alone, she had appeared fully human, at least aside from her scales on her arm and now her leg, hip, stomach and breasts. As well as the base of her neck and spreading around like a belt about her waist.
Silvermane on the other hand, a silver and black haired woman looking like a tabby cat from a breeder walking on a runway. Nobody paid the woman much, if any heed, but it was Xeir they were scared of, they had only seen her fighting the soldiers with no horns at the time.
But for her to suddenly have horns and be so scary looking ? Truth was, Xeir was not the least bit scary, her face might look a bit too stern, but it was mostly through sheer raw pain at the time.
The two grabbed another hovertrain, this one headed for the Marketplace District and sat down. It was going t obe quite the ride.
Arendelle
Marketplace Den
At that same moment
Mark still couldnt believe it, his body slept for two full days before he was able to regain control of himself. Horny Chief, finally satisfied, and Hyperion had pointed out to Mark how it all worked, but by the time Mark woke up as himself. He had forgotten entirely about the incense, not knowing that his aunt Vaeyuko at Iris request, removed the phermone laced incense and replaced it with the proper untainted incense in Marks room.
Mark sat at the foot of his bed. He didnt want to go to breakfast, he wanted the last three days back. He wanted the last year back. But after breakfast Blackmane had announced there was a meeting called in the Marketplace Den's conference room. Concerning, of all things, the collected Star shards, the chittering of a certain Icewraith had Marks attention briefly before Asami mentioned of where Irie had gone and might have taken her Shard with her. But Blackmane came to the rescue when she said that Irie had instead left the shard with Diamond, either as a precaution or as a afterthought, only Diamond and Irie knew.
Tiri had a shard, it was bright green as it danced with color, Mark had to blink, he was still in shock over what had happened three nights ago.
So there were five shards in the house right then, His, Iries, his aunt Blackmanes, Diamonds, and now Tiri's, didnt Diamond or his own shard mention there were a maximum of six ?
So who had the sixth ?
Mark sat for long moments in the bedroom. He had no idea Xeir was already coming to the house, to the Den for the meeting. He stared briefly at nothing. Horny Chief was satisfied, moreso then he wanted to admit. He felt satisifed himself.
But as Mark sat there in silence, incense fogging his mind he had, for the first time in months, a clear head. Irie was in love with him, Chief knew it, Hyperion knew it, Kalda did not know it because Kalda was out of comission still.
Mark himself refused to admit it. So Irie had to really work hard to get him to notice her, first it was little things. Like working on missions with her, helping with the armor upgrades and set ups.
In the end, Mark was taken advantage of by both his own body, and Irie., the two of them, he was sure she was with kitten now. Cheetahs could have what ? Three to five cubs right ? He had to remember. The most a Cheetah ever had was eight, and Irie was far too small even for that.
Either way, Mark was sure he had gotten his own cousin pregneant with his kids again.
For a long moment he was upset. Incest was not an easy thing to deal with even for him. But then he realised something important. Irie was not his cousin by blood like Sapphire was. She was his cousin, just like he was the younger brother to Serena and her twin sister Serenity, by adoption. Aunt Vaeyuko had adopted Irie as a infant after her parents had died in a bombing.
Marks heart felt relief, it wasnt as bad as he had thought, he could be a father to Irie's kittens, He just hoped Elsa wouldnt mind it. But then again he had to remind himself as much as he hated doing so.
Elsa was gone.
But Xeir, would Xeir be alright with it ? "Light I am a mess" Mark grunted. A knock came at the door. "Come in" he said. It was Diana. Seeing her Mark looked up, confused, "Something wrong ?" He had never seen her this excited before.
"No, nothing's wrong but, I was asked to tell you that there is someone who wants to meet you in the meeting room. Also, good luck." Diana said, before leaving his door.
Well that was weird. Who would want to see him in the meeting room ? The meeting wasnt for another hour right ? Over lunch was trhe planned time right ?
Nevertheless Mark got up from the floor with a grunt, and went to the mirror, making sure he was presentable he headed from his room and down the stairs. Hitting a door control he opened a sliding door and stepped through it.
Down a flight of stairs to a glass door. The glass wall was one of those smeared or fogged or even smoked glass windows. They were also thick enough to be bullet proof, as well as sound proof.
He saw his aunt stepping out of the meeting room. "Good luck, I'm not sure how you'll take it. But, good luck, and try not to break anything in there." Blackmane told him.
"Ahuh, right," Mark replied, he had no idea what to expect. He pulled the glass door open and stepped into the room.
At the end of the table, watching a wall of screens of holographic information. Was a woman, long silverwhite hair, her back was to him, but Mark could see the scales pattern spreading from a point on her front or left side.
On the screens were various news reports. Before Mark could speak, the woman spoke. "They even have the news reports this far away from Oslo. Amazing." She said simply. Mark stepped closer to the woman, he thought she was a belly dancer, or at least an exotic dancer by the look of her dress
Mark stared at the silver haired woman, gone was the regal Queen of Arendelle, in her place stood a Dragon in the form of a human woman, scales of pearlicent silver covered her left arm, her chest, left leg and part of her face. She regarded Mark carefully, in her memories, Elsas memories, she remembered him
Finally the silence between them was broken
He reached her, a hand went to her face. "Esla ?" Mark asked, tentively, almost scared the woman would react wrong.
Xeir half smiled, she took his hand and gently lowered it. "You look like hell" She told him.
Truth was she looked as if she had been through hell, and survived.
"Everyone says you're dead, gone, never coming back." Mark said.
"That is because Elsa is dead, never coming back, 'every-body-is-dead-Mark' Elsa was me, she... she was never supposed to exist. I have her memories, she is me. Elsa was," She faltered then, how could she explain to Mark that Elsa was a Nothing, she was never meant to exist in the first place
"Was what ?" Mark asked her, She looked at him, "Elsa was a Queen, she had a sister, a kingdom, and a husband, me. Now you're telling me she's dead, when you're her ?!" Mark nearly blew a gasket at the question
Xeir smirked, "You're cute when you're angry, you know that right ?" She said to him. Mark glared daggers at her. She raised a hand, "Look I know this is a lot to take in, but its... its a long story and its very complicated, so I will sum it up for you, alright ?"
"I'm listening" Mark said, crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned against the table.
"Elsa was never supposed to exist, I was never supposed to die. But, When I was mortally wounded Elsa was born, as well as Tiri also was born, my body was rebuilt with the remains of what Tiri didnt need. But I was still a empty husk, I needed what Elsa had. A soul. My soul." Xeir explained, she then smiled softly. "Kalda could have explained it better but even sometimes he was very dense"
"What ?" Mark asked, "How do you know Kalda ?"
"He was my husband ?" Xeir replied in the form of a question. As if Mark was suddenly on Jepardy! Xeir gave him a look.
Mark stared, "You..." He pointed at her, "you're, his wife, you're, Xeir Zith ?" He stuttered dumbly for a few minutes.
"I expected stupid and stubborn but nothing like this. Explaining to Blackmane, Elsa is Nothing, was Nothing, she might have been important as a leader in this world, but now she is gone, I am here. Now, any further questions or should I deck you ?" Xeir looked at him sternly. Almost like a mother looking at her child.
Mark looked at her, an eyebrow raised at the stupid and stubborn comment, "Wow, ok, rude. Not wrong, because I refuse to die, but still." Mark paced a bit, "Alight, lets say I believe you, you're Xeir, Kaldas wife." He said, Xeir nodded, "Now, you were still alive, he died, ages ago. I am me, I am Mark Wolfe"
"That's right, and from my memories from Elsa, you were my Nothing's husband" Xeir confirmed his trail of thought.
Mark grumbled, "Will you stop that ?!" He thundered at her.
"Stop what ?" She crossed her arms over her chest, Mark saw the extent then of her injuries, and the scales covering them. He remembered that Elsa had gotten her appendix removed and the scar occasionally showed over her left hip, but now he couldnt see anything, not even the silver teal dress the woman before him wore because of her scales covering her injuries.
Mark raised a hand, pointing at her. "Stop," he faltered, he waved his hand slightly, then lowered it, calming down. "Stop calling Elsa a nothing, she was a important person, she was a Queen, she was my wife!"
"She was never supposed to exist!" Xeir growled, her horns forming in her anger at him. Mark took a half step back "Dont you get it ? I was never supposed to get wounded in battle. I had a child, for all I know she's gone now too!" Neither of them knew it but Elizabeth was safe, and being cared for by Elsas mother. Xeir forced herself to calm down.
Mark went to the table and set his knuckles on it. This was a lot to take in. He raised a hand as Xeir stepped towards him. "I know its a lot to take at once, but the truth is, Elsa is gone, she joined with me, she does not exist anymore. You however, I know have Kalda in you in some way, somewhere." She went to his side and tried to look at his face. Mark turned away from her, breathing hard.
"Mark, look at me." Xeir said, her voice gentle by that point, almost as if she was Elsa again, but she wasnt, Mark grunted.
"Xeir, Elsa, whoever you are, tell me one thing, What were you wearing on your feet when we first met ?" Mark asked her, he glanced sidelong at her.
Xeir smirked, she remembered that. "I was barefoot but you couldnt tell because of the dress I had on at the time" She said to him
Mark snickered, a soft scoff. "Great so its true," he said, he stood from the table and turned to her. "Elsa is you, you are her, but she looks nothing like you, and you look nothing like her. Infact if I were a betting man, which I am not, you look more like Tiri then anything else." Mark said to her
"That is because before I cast my soul away, Tiri was my body, I became me from what was left after Tiri was born" Xeir said.
Mark spoke up, a hand waving in his face, "Ah see, there you go again, trying to kill my brain with riddles. Look, Maybe this will help explain it" Mark tried to remember things, then he remembered the dream world. "I got it, when we were in the dream world, You had a dream, I had a dream, Diana and Anna both had the dream, but in that dream, your name was Xeir, and Annas name was Diamond, however in the normal world, or whatever it was, Your name was Elsa, Annas name was Anna, and Dianas name was Marion."
"And we were all stuck on a island city unable to leave it execept for you and Elsa, yes I know that part too, I was part of the dream remember ?" Xeir looked at him just as darkly as he was glaring at her.
A moment, a long tense moment, the tension was so thick one could cut it with a sneeze. Finally Mark sighed. "So, how did it work ? The dream, Did Elsa ever come out of it ?"
" No actually," Xeir said, she leaned against the table as Mark heavily sat down. "What I remember is someone saying something, some screaming and anger. Then someone calling my name as my heart was beating." Xeir explained, "I woke up in a bed, Tiri was projecting to me from the jail."
"So Elsa's gone for good then" Mark said, he sighed.
Xeir didnt even nod as she said softly. "I'm afraid so, she is me, and I am her, But my name is Xeir, and I will tell you this, I do not rule a kingdom, my mother does." Xeir told him.
"Your mother ?" Mark asked her, then he nodded, Kalda did mention that, he remembered seeing that memory from the journal crystal. He waved a hand, "Nevermind, Like you said, its complicated."
Another long moment had passed quietly, Mark finally realising Elsa was gone forever, merged with Xeir. Finally Xeir spoke up. "So, are you alright ? With me not who you think I am ?"
"Not fully no," Mark replied in Hebrew, Xeir had no diea what he meant, and thought he sweared at her. "But who knows, you might grow on me like Elsa did"
Xeir had to smile. "Your aunt was right." She said, Mark looked at her. "You are stoneheaded" She caught the pencil Mark flung at her and slid it behind one of her horns.
Ten agonising minutes later and Mark was about to ask xeir another question as a test when Diana walked in. "I see you two are getting along swell huh ?" She said, only to have another pencil flung at her from Mark, Diamond barely caught the object but pointed at him with a smirk. "You really need to work on your aim" She said to him.
Mark just grunted. Diana looked at Xeir, "You're sure you want to go through with this, everyone is waiting" She said
"I am sure, allow them to come in." Xeir said, she then took a seat two places down from Mark. Everyone else filed in, it was the head of each den so far still under Assassin control, there was Jem, Sax, and Sharka with Sharkas wife Altan standing beside him taking the places next to and between Mark and Xeir.
On the other side of the table of twent chairs sat Kaedrian, the Healer, Topaz, her brother Lazul stood by the door, Blackmane, Diana, and Asami. Irie was not present, nor was Vaeyuko, Shadowmane came in last with Kaezin, both took a seat at one end of the table, Kaezin however sat next to Mark.
"Is this everyone ?" Xeir asked to Blackmane.
"Everyone with a shard, yes" Came the reply, that meant Topaz, who had Iries shard, or was it Diamond who had it ? Xeir had lost count of who had what. Blackmane had a Shard, Mark had a shard, Diana, or rather Diamond in disguise had two shards, hers and Iries.
That left Tiri and Xeir, and Tiri had given Xeir her shard, Shade also entered the room and stood near the door, her arms crossed over her chest.
"All six shards are in one room as we speak" Xeir said, getting everyones attention, as much as Mark hated to admit it, Xeir, even with her scales, and dragon horns, was beautiful. But nothing would take away the fact he was married to Elsa for such a short time.
Everyone looked at her, trading looks with each other, who had star shards ? Blackmane stood up, taking her silver shard from her bodice she set the thing on the table. It glittered a pale silver. "I suggest everyone with a star shard, set it on the table before you." Blackmane said, her tone made it clear, show it to everyone. It was time to reveal it.
Mark set his blue shard upon the table, across from him Diana set her pink shard, and Iries purple shard on the table.
That was four.
A glitter of red light danced upon the table and sparkled across the room as Xeir revealed her red shard, and then shortly after it, a pale green shard. Setting both upon the table.
And that was all six.
"The last few months everyone across the world has begun to notice strange signs and movements of the stars at night. The reason is because of the High Priest trying to control the Star Formation, But he is failing. Because he does not have these six shards. What he needs to control the formation is a complete Formation. It was given a weakness from the start by its creator." Xeir said, explaining the Formation then to everyone.
"Without the formantion having a weakness, it would then control the fate of the entire world, what the Templars want, what Kiyori wants." Xeir then concluded, "Is to control time itself, and the only way to do that, is to use the Formation. Each star when accessing the memories they hold, provides the person with powers to control time, reverse it, advance it, or age or deage items within the stars world." Blackmane spoke up.
"Controlling time only works when the Formation is completed, the Maker of the formation found that a completed Formation would prove too strong for anyone on Earth to control, and thus created a weakness for it, by shattering one of its stars" Xeir then said, she remebmered the memory corridor and what she learned there.
"So why this meeting ?" Mark asked, Blackmane shot him a look, but Xeir simply smirked at him. Trust Mark to be so blunt. "I mean why are we sitting here talking about this thing, cant we destroy it ? We have all six shards now, The High Priest does not."
"That is true, but it is not that easy." Xeir said, she used her magic to create a hologram model of the Formation. "With Kiyori currently controlling the formation as it is, confronting him to destroy it would not work. He already is too strong when accessing its power as it is."
"So what now ? We have what he wants, and we still cant take him down ?" Mark asked
"I say we give what we have to him, make him stronger, make him drunk on power." Xeir said. Everyone stared at her dumbly, what the hell was she talking about ? Xeir smiled "I know it does not make sense" She started
"The hell it does!" Mark all but shouted in her face as he stood up, knocking back his chair. "We give him the shards, guess what happens, he takes over! That simple, we might as well dig our own graves now" He said
"Not that simple" Blackmane said, "Though Xeir does have a point, Drunk on Power, the high priest will think he is the ultimate power, he'd have everything he'd want at his beck and call ready to go, but so drunk on power, he will also reveal his weakness directly to us." She explained she looked at Mark, "You saw the Formation, cant you recall any details ?"
"Yeah" Mark said as everyone looked at him. "It was in space, and there was a bridge, it was cut off from the castle by a weird portal, a bridge to nowhere really."
"And where have we seen such a bridge before ?" Xeir spoke up, she remembered such a bridge. It was creepy to find it.
"There is only one place that would have such a thing" Mark said after a moment of thought. "But I am not sure if I should reveal it."
"You might have to, Nephew. Our lives, the freedom of this earth depends on it." Shadowmane spoke up simply.
Mark sighed, once again all eyes were on him. "It is in the Blackrock Temple, otherwise known as the Wolfe Mausoleum." He said
"Blackrock temple can be a spooky place, but it also might be helpful to explore to find the Bridge" Blackmane said
"It is a bridge cut off by a portal of some kind, nothing can get through it, its like a wall of nothing but void" Mark said It was tradtion to make a yearly visit when he was a child to the Temple, back then known simply as Blackrock Temple, and explore it once a year on the oldest childs birthday. So when Mark was eight was his last time really exploring it as a child.
So the memories Hyperion was recalling for him was from that time period, anything sooner was when he was indexing the place and didnt take notice of ther bridge. "I do not remebmer where in the Temple it now is though, for all I know it is blocked off thanks to a cave in or something."
Xeir smirked in thought. A bridge to knowehre, "We find the bridge, its possible that we can get to the Formation through that point." she looked at Mark. "When you saw the Formation, do you remebmer anything of the bridge itself ?"
Mark found himself nodding, "Yes actually, odd as I remember it, there were four heavy chains dangling from it, and no signs of suppoort of any kind, the bridge ended in a balcony, an open space about as big as this room, a low railing al around and also no the bridge. Again no signs of support in any manner. It was after all projecting out into space"
"In sapce no support is needed, alright, we need to take a vote." Blackmane said, Xeir and Mark stared briefly at each other but Blackmane ignored it. "All in favor of giving the High Priest what he wants in oprder to trap him with his own power, say aye."
Xeir, Topaz, Diana, and three others said Aye, the was another saying no, then another saying in favor of it. Finally it got to the final three, when the vote was tied, again another aye, then depending entirely on the last two votes it was down to a final yes to take it in favor of Xeirs radical plan
Much to Mark's very upset noise. "Giving these shards to Kiyori is only asking for trouble and we all know it."
"Its the only way" Xeir replied simply
"How is it the only way ?" Mark retorted, first his wife is truly dead, and now this shit ?
"Because it was foretold that Kiyori would be drunk on power and thus reveal his weakness, paving his own downfall by trusting strictly in his newfound power. He wil lbe drunk on it, and more worried of his own future then anything else to fall easily enough." Xeir explained to him.
"And how do you know that ?" Mark asked her, fire in his eyes.
"Emisary told me" Xeir replied, giving him a calm look, she had no idea of what he did with Irie, and wouldnt find out for another good two months.
"Emisary, the prophet lady ?" Mark asked her, Xeir nodded. "She saw how he'd fall ?" Mark had to wonder, how could he suddenly be so focused on his own future and well being to get killed in battle ?
"Yup" Xeir replied, "He would be so worried about saving time, He'd forget himself, and the kingdom as a whole. His power would corrupt him, and he'd try to fix issues he will discover. But that will be his problem not ours. Apparently Emisary saw us fighting him, or at least me fighting him. But she did not see me destroying him, but she did see me destroying the formation. Which in turn destroyed him"
Destroying the formation destroying the High Priest in the process.
Mark shook his head. "I call for a revote, as hopeful as that is, we cannot let the high priest get his ulgy mitts on the shards, we simply cant, we can find the bridge to nowhere in the Temple, and use that to access the formation for ourselves and destroy him that way!"
Another round of votes went through, but it was a tiebreaker that kept it locked in a stalemate. Before when Xeirs plan was to get the high priest drunk on power to take him down it made sense, but Marks idea also made sense but it lacked that final vote.
It was however Blackmane who spoke up. "It seems then we are at an impasse, we cannot move forwards on this plan," She sighed, looking to Xeir she said, I am sorry Xeir, but we're stuck, we might need to deliberate this plan more when the time allows." She said to her
Xeir sighed, as much as she hated the outcome, she nodded. "Very well. What will we do with the shards now ?" She then asked
Everyone looked at the table, the shards floated above it forming the star formation through Xeirs magic.
Blackmane smirked then. "When we leave this room, only one of us can access it, Vote in favor bvy writing a name in the air, it will appear over the table." She said, casting a bit of writing magic, everyone, even herself, began to write a name.
Diana wrote the name she thought to be best to handle the shards, in this case her husband, Naratas, his name flaoted over her place at the table, Xeir wrote Tiris name, while Blackmane and Mark both wrote Marks name, Topaz, her brother, and the rest were torn between Blackmane and Xeir, in the end, Mark had the most names in his favor.
"It is settled" Blackmane said at last. The names faded, and Marks remained. "When we leave this room, only Mark can access it." She stood then, indicating the meeting was over, everyone but Blackmane and Mark left the room.
In the hallway, Diana stooped and waited for Xeir, the silver dressed woman looked upset. "Something wrong."
"That did not go as well as I had hoped" Xeir replied softly in Draconic to her sister. "We can only hope Mark comes to his senses and lets me take the shards and leave them somewhere for the High Priest."
"You know he's not going to go for that" Diamond replied, the two headed off back to the den. Diamond then got a good look at Xeirs condition. "Have you eaten, you look like shit. What the hell did you go through ? A hovertrain wreck ?"
"Far from it, I'll explain on the way" Xeir replied
Inside the meeting room Mark remained seated as Blackmane cast a bit of magic that could react to her nephew safely and allow him to take all six shards. "You're sure you do not want Xeirs plan to work ?" Blackmane asked to him.
Mark stared at the shards, all six of the things floated over the table, "Elsa is dead, that woman is her, I know it, but she insisted Elsa is gone, her name might be Xeir, and Elsa might be dead, but Elsa was my wife!" Mark said to his aunt.
"Keyword there, dear nephew, is Was" Blackmane told him, Mark glared at her. "You might not like it, but that is the truth, the spell will react only to you or me, so when we manage either your plan or finalise on Xeirs plan, only you or I can access those shards."
With that, Blackmane left the room, leaving Mark alone staring at the shards, finally after a few minutes, disgusted, Mark left the room and stalked to his room, grabbing his dark forest green hood, he put it on and headed out for a walk, he wanted to clear his head.
Arendelle
Pond District
Moments later
"So what if it did not go as hoped, the plan is easier then expected." Diamond said as she and Xeir went to the Pond District and took a seat at an outdoor diner. A waiter came over and gave them some menus. A fter ordering the waiter then left.
A moment or so later and Xeir smirked. "You asked me what I went through, so I will tell you. Never mix kerosene with butane and propane, Mothers love that stuff is volatile!" Xeir said with a soft hiss as she gently rubbed where her appendix should have been. Covered in scales, even through the dress she wore, the scales formed a gorgeous pattern on the dress as they blended through so gently. The dress undamaged of course
"I heard something about an explosion and fire in Oslo, was that you ?" Diamond asked her sister.
"It was" Xeir replied softly, "Silvermane had tracked what she thought was an Apple of Eden, but it ended up being far worse, something more akin to a dirty bomb but designed to cause maximum fire damage with minimal loss of life." Xeir explained to Diamond. "Silvermane, either she had magical defenses up, or something, because she was bruised and cut in multiplaces, while I was simply set on fire. We were both thrown quite a bit from the blast."
"Silvermane insisted on seeing the Healer, that was why Kaedrian was at the meeting, but other then that I dont know what happened. You guys tracked a bomb, not a Piece ?" Diamond wanted to confirm
"Yes, exactly that" Xeir replied, their drinks arrived and the two thanked the waiter. Once more alone at their table the two gfot down to small talk. "Has Mark figured it out yet ?" Xeir asked Diamond
"Figured out what ?" Diamond asked her in confusion. Then she realised what Xeir meant, "Oh, you mean Nara ? My husband ? Not yet no. I havent even told Mark my real name, or who I was before giving into Diamond entirely."
"Mark mentioned the dream world, how my name was Elsa, and yours was Marion, but he called you Diana here, that's your cover name right ?" Xeir said, Diamond nodded. "So Mark is either too stupid to notice, or too stubborn to really care at this point. I doubt he'd so much as smile when hearing you married Nara, that wedding was great, he's a good dancer."
"And he owes me a lot, because he didnt get anything last night." Diamond smirked, it made Xeir laugh, only to wince hard at the onset of the renewed pain she felt. "Fact is, Nara has been busy, Mark doesnt suspect a thing, thinks Nara is an idiot, but he's my idiot we'll leave it at that" She then saw the wince of pain from Xeir and mumbleed, "sorry I forgot you were in a war"
"Its alright, the Templars knew how to make a fireball for sure, Blessed All-Mother the area is still tender, Silvermane had so aleovera, and it helped a lot, I then soaked in her bath for an hour, and then she gave me a nice good waxing. For once I felt good. Silvermane didnt care though that she was still bleeding, so I had to heal her somehow." Xeir said
Diamond smirked, "It would take getting konked out to get bathed or healed in her case." Silvermane and her twin sister with Shenishi, Snowmane fought like dwervishes in battle, recently with the onset of technology however their skills had advanced to included small arms like pistols.
Xeir smiled, "Yeah, it would." She agreed. She sighed then.
"So what is the plan ? Do you still want to give the High Priest those hards ?" Diamond asked.
"We have to, its the only way to defeat him. Even with them in our control he's still too powerful and the way things are going, the weather is unnaturally warm, even for summer in Norway." Xeir replied
Their food arrived, Diamond dug in right away as Xeir took her time.
"Fact is, I'm not too sure of giving him the shards either. So in a way I am glad that Mark offered a second plan to work with. We can call it plan B" Xeir said as she stabbed her deer meat. Fox meat was good, deer was good, all sorts of meats were good and worth it.
"Alright, but still. Giving the shards to Kiyori would be asking for trouble, wouldnt it ?" Diamond asked
"Not entirely, he'd be so intent on getting them to work, so drunk on his own power he'd forget about us, and become focused on what he is able to do with the shards" Xeir replied
"So drunk on power he is distracted by his own abilities." Diamond mused, it was genius. "that actually makes sense,, you think he'll try and explore time, would we notice it ?"
"If he tried he would be more concerned with seeing where he ends up, and then he'd be more concerned with correcting that issue, if he finds one." Xeir replied. She had a plan and it made Diamond a little nervous. "Think about it, sis, The High Priest, so focused on finding out, what happens to him, and not to us, does he survive, who can he kill if anyone. Things like that"
"And then he'd be concerned with who kills him, and what he can do to prevent that" Diamond warned
"In this case Emisary said I would be the one to kill him, But we know one thing that he does not" Xeir smirked to her sister
"And that is ?" Diamond asked her
"We cannot see past our own deaths. When my Nothing was alive, I did not know any of it, I still retain her memories, but I cannot recall anything from the point of my death from Kethends attack" Xeir epxlained, "So that said, Kiyori will not be able to see past his own death."
Diamond started to get it. "Which means he wont be able to prevent his own death, Because he cannot see past that point, he wouldnt know who kills him. Or how ?" She asked
"Exactly, I plan to go after the Formation, we find the Bridge that Mark mentioned, and destroy that, or at least weaken it. Kiyori will be focused on maintaining the Formation for as long as he can, the Formation will destroy him. But I will destroy the Formation."
"And the only way to do that is to give him the Shards ?" Diamond asked
"If we can prevent him from even getting the shards and somehow take control of the Formation, then yes, maybe" Xeir replied
"Well ?" Diamond pressed
"Giving Kiyori the shards will get him focused on how they work, use them, He will then try to fix the Formation, by that point we have found the Bridge and can weaken it from there." Xeir said, she was using both her plan and Marks plan it seemed.
"You do realise how out of bounds that sounds, right ? Nobody will go for it and you know it." Diamond said
"I know, that is why I am trying to think of a different plan. It all hinges on the Formation, if we can find that bridge to nowhere as Mark said it was in Blackrock Temple, otherwise known as the Wolfe Mausoleum, its possible we can take control of the Formation, but I doubt it." Xeir sighed. She moved her hair out of her face.
How could they make a good plan, that could work ?
A few moments of quiet eating passed between them, finally Xeir spoke up. "So, Nara got nothing last night huh, did he try for something ?"
Diamond choked and spat out a bit of her drink at the question, "He tried" She said after she cleaned herself a bit, "But then I clotheslined him and he didnt wake up until morning." Diamond smirked at the memory. "It was about that time when news of the fire in Oslo was all over the TV"
"Yeah, Took two days for you guys to get it, in took maybe ten minutes or so for Oslo to get it." Xeir replied, by the time Oslo was getting the news of the fireball, Xeir was taking her much needed soak that she so rightly deserved and had earned every bit of. Not to say the careful waxing job that Silvermane gave her wasnt bad. The woman knew howe to please a customer just fine.
Little did either of the two Dragons know that the plan was going to work, and it would get kicked into high gear faster then either of them thought possible.
