"Look what we found." Chrysa said excitedly.
A world map popped up with a few pins in it.
"You found a way to leave us more confused?" Ash asked.
"No, we think at least that we found Regice's location." Ren said.
"I was looking at what you had found last time, and I was thinking to myself, Eva that's a lot of ice. Well a block of ice that big, mystical or not needs to have some sort of cold like energy to keep from disappearing. So what I did was look for cold spots like the one you guys went to. But then as I was looking at them, I thought, you know some of these places are really well explored, if Regice was there, someone might have said something by now." Eva rambled.
"Thank you Eva." Professor Cerise said. "Her findings left us with one possible location, the Seafoam Islands."
"Wasn't this Goh's project though." Ash said, looking at the empty desk.
"Goh still hasn't been cleared for field work, but when he comes back from his appointment, he'll be on comms." Professor Cerise said. "Ash, Chloe, work together and you'll succeed."
Outside the main lab
"Was my dad wearing one of the team jackets?" Chloe asked.
"Yep, he loved the idea so much, everyone has one." Ash said with a laugh.
"So what's our plan?" Chloe asked.
"We try and catch Regice again. I'll bring some Pokémon that might be able to keep it from escaping." Ash said, knowing who he wanted for the job. "Also, see if we have wet suits."
"Weird, but okay." Chloe said.
Up in the air
"This is much better than swimming there." Chloe said from Dragonite.
"Seafoam Island water is going to be cold, the less we have to spend in it, the safer we'll be." Ash said.
"Sorry we didn't have wetsuits." Chloe apologized.
"Chloe, I'm not like how Goh was, we didn't have them, so we had to stop and borrow some. It's no big deal." Ash said. "Besides, we can't have everything."
"How'd you even get Misty to lend you them so quickly?" Chloe asked
Back at the Cerulean Gym
"Misty, I borrowed two wetsuits, will be brought back if we make it. Ash". Misty said, reading the note she found on Psyduck's head. "Ash!"
"I used my charm and sparkling personality." Ash said confidently. "There it is."
"How about we each take an entrance." Chloe offered, looking at the two caves.
"I'll take the eastern one." Ash said.
"Guess I'll take the west." Chloe said.
A while later
"This is as far as it goes." Ash said, looking at a wall. He and Pikachu had gone as far down as they could, and searched underwater as well.
"Cuno!"
An Ice Beam was shot at the two as they dove out of the way.
"Not the Ice Type I was looking for, but I can't argue. Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
The electricity shot out at Articuno, stunning it momentarily before it charged at them.
"Muk come on out, and use Sludge Bomb! Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
The two attacks seemed to do the trick as Articuno spun out, crashing into a wall.
A bit earlier, on the opposite side of the wall
"Why am I the lucky one." Chloe groaned seeing the block of ice. "Be ready Boltund."
Regice's figure began coming out of the block of ice, throwing an attack at the two.
"Boltund dodge and use Thunder Fang!"
Boltund leapt out of the way, biting down on Regice, hanging on while it tried shaking him off.
"Lumineon use Hydro Pump! Boltund use Tackle!"
The blast of water gave Boltund the opening to strike again, as Regice froze the lake.
"Lumineon return! Eevee come on out, and use Copycat! Boltund use Thunder Fang!"
The two Pokémon bit down on Regice with a zapping force.
"Pokeball go!" Chloe shouted, losing her balance when the wall broke open, Articuno flying through.
"Howdy neighbor!" Ash said with a laugh running in.
"What are the chances of two ice type legendarios?" Chloe asked.
"Anyone but us, none. Let's do this! Pikachu use Thunderbolt! Muk use Body Slam!"
"Boltund use Crunch! Eevee use Double Edge!"
The attacks seemed to only anger the ice types as they charged forward, with an Ice Punch, and Drill Peck respectively.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail! Muk use Mud Bomb!"
"Eevee use Assist! Boltund use Tackle!"
Pikachu and Muk struck Regice hard, while Eevee looked to be using a Flamethrower attack against Articuno with Boltund's tackle.
"Let's try this again! Pokeball go!" Chloe shouted throwing the pokeball.
Regice slid out of the way, quickly.
"It's trying to escape again!" Ash shouted.
"It can't, the block has been destroyed." Chloe pointed out.
Unfortunately Chloe was wrong as Regice made his way towards the frozen lake, taking her with him.
"Chloe!" Ash shouted diving for her hand, only to be seconds late as she and Regice dissappeared.
Ash turned towards Articuno, a rage of sadness in his eyes.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail!" Ash screamed, pointing at the ice. "She has to be down there!"
Hours later, Ash returned to the lab defeated. Pikachu, Boltund, and Eevee following behind him.
Goh was the first one to speak. "Ash, where's Chloe?"
"I tried to save her, I did everything I could. I searched everywhere." Ash said breaking down.
"Ash, where is she! Where's my daughter!" Professor Cerise plead.
"It took her. Regice. It fled and took Chloe with him." Ash said on the ground.
It was a sad night at the Cerise research lab, as they all dealt with it in their own ways.
"Brandon, I need your help. You found Regice once before. I need to find him again." Ash said over the phone.
"Should be easy enough, what's the urgency though." Brandon said.
"He took someone, and I intend on getting them back." Ash said seriously.
"I'll be to Vermillion as soon as I can." Brandon said.
"Wait, there's some people I need you to find for me first." Ash said.
