For once, I had a chapter idea of my own! Here it is! It's short, but I've been wanting to do this for a while now.
The Rebellion of the Shield now lived in a set of tents on the outskirts of the village, waiting for a few houses to be rebuilt before they could move in.
It was nighttime right now, and the Rebellion lay asleep in their tents. Aris cuddled with Raphtalia in a shared tent, and Filo slept with Ness in another tent.
Well, almost all of the Rebellion was asleep.
One member was wide awake, and hard at work.
Loretta Nohansen Atreides labored away on a new "project" that she'd been working on for a while now.
The former princess spent hour after hour under the cloak of darkness, tinkering away at bits of Sheikah technology. It had since begun to take shape as a pair of bracelets.
Loretta strapped the bracelets to her wrists and uttered three words, quietly, so that her sleeping comrades wouldn't hear. "M.A.I.A., activate armor."
M.A.I.A, an artificially intelligent assistant, responded in her computerized Scottish accent, "Right away, my lady."
Blue energy began to engulf Loretta's body, taking shape into a suit of armor. The armor was complete with a helmet that covered Loretta's face.
"Armor activated," said M.A.I.A. "Testing complete."
"Evaluate my status," Loretta ordered.
"Wearer capacity is at one-hundred percent," said M.A.I.A. "Fully vitalized and ready for battle."
Loretta lifted her hand, facing her right palm toward a nearby rock. "Test repulsor on right hand."
"Testing."
A small shot of burning blue energy fired from a circle of blue light on Loretta's palm. "Yes!" Loretta whisper-shouted. "It worked."
"Excellent," said M.A.I.A. "Repulsor test complete."
Through the rest of the night, Loretta continued testing parts of her new suit, from her left-hand repulsor to a pair of jet boots that allowed her to fly.
"Suit test complete," M.A.I.A. said. "Sheikah Armor Mk. 1 complete."
"Deactivate armor," Loretta commanded.
"Deactivating," said M.A.I.A.
At long last, Loretta thought. It's done.
The young woman continued her work, laboring away on other projects she had been slowly building. To her, they were no mere projects, however. These were gifts, for her friends - the ones she held dear to her heart. Chief among them was her brother Aris, whose prosthesis was detached as he slept. This made things convenient for Loretta as she installed a new function into the arm. Once finished, a computerized voice spoke quietly, "Cross-Dimensional Communicator online."
Loretta then put the finishing touches on another trinket she'd created for Aris. This one was quite unusual; it was a cloak of sorts. Instead of being a device or contraption like Loretta's armor, this was merely a piece of clothing imbued with Sheikah tech. The female Hylian had affectionately dubbed it the "Cloak of Shadows".
She also made him a small chest plate composed of Sheikah technology. He might not want this thing, she thought, eyeing the small piece of armor. He loves his Hylian Armor, and I doubt he'd want to part with it. If he doesn't want this, I'll just give it to Raphtalia, or something.
Next was a gift for Raphtalia. Loretta put the finishing touches on a Sheikah-made sword, with two blades of blue energy appearing from a collapsible fuller.
She got to work again, assembling a pair of boots for Filo. They were christened the Pegasus Boots, and would grant Filo extreme running speed, equal to that of her speed while in her Filolial form.
Her gift for Pit was similar to the Pegasus Boots, the difference being that the Sheikah-made sandals Loretta built would grant Pit a great increase in jumping power. "That'll help him get a head start for flying," Loretta said to herself.
Then came her creations for Ness and Cloud. For Ness, Loretta made a little gadget similar to the Franklin Badge (an item that was able to reflect lightning when worn). This little trinket, however, created a hard-light barrier of ancient energy, similar to Aris's shield.
Loretta's gift for Cloud was a pair of gauntlets, which could harness the power of Materia and strengthen it via ancient energy.
Last but not least were her gifts for Joker and Rishia. Joker's gift was a set of footwear, one that suppressed any sound his steps would make. Loretta knew that the Phantom Thief was an espionage expert, and a pair of noise-suppressing boots would be quite useful to him.
As for Rishia, Loretta made a sort of katana, which had a blade of blue Sheikah energy. That weapon was complemented by a small pistol, one that fired small bolts of burning light.
Finally finished, Loretta stood back to admire the fruits of her labor. She nodded, pleased with her finished products. "They'll love these," she said quietly.
At long last, the female Hylian returned to her tent to sleep.
